The Esports Little Demon King Is a Sweet and Fierce Omega - Chapter 28
“Hug you again?”
Tian Jiu blinked, then opened his arms toward Feng Wu. “Then let’s have another hug, Captain.”
The Captain must be really happy about the win, Tian Jiu thought, finding a sensible reason for Feng Wu’s request. He’s just shy about showing his emotions, so he’s expressing his joy in this quiet way.
Feng Wu’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He reached out.
However, just as his fingertips brushed Tian Jiu’s shoulder, the battlefield cleanup concluded. They were forcibly disconnected and sent back to the real world.
Tian Jiu opened his eyes to the deafening roar of the crowd, everyone chanting “FOX.”
“Congratulations to FOX for taking the victory in this match!” Fei Erfeng shouted at the top of his lungs. “Congratulations to you all!”
Colorful streamers exploded around the stage, and brilliant fireworks bloomed in the sky above.
Feng Wu glanced at Tian Jiu and let out an imperceptible sigh of disappointment.
The players from both teams rose and met in the center of the stage for a friendly handshake.
Chiyan said helplessly, “You guys really live up to your name. A team of foxes, truly—you’re so cunning, you played us like a fiddle.”
They had spent the whole match believing Tian Jiu and Feng Wu were the core, only realizing something was wrong during that final team fight. But by then, it was too late.
Tian Jiu shook his hand, his tiger teeth showing in a grin. “It’s because you underestimated us. You even said you were going to make me and Mo Li cry.”
Bringing up exactly what Chiyan wanted to forget, the Mage looked at the cute little Omega with a complex expression. He finally understood the saying: The pinker the face, the harder the sting.
“Alright, how long do you plan on holding hands?” Feng Wu grumbled, pulling Tian Jiu’s hand back.
Chiyan shrugged. “Seems the rumors are true. You really—”
Before he could finish, Feng Wu interrupted, “We need to take photos.”
Chiyan froze for a second, then smiled meaningfully. He gave Tian Jiu a wink. “Good luck, Little Tian Jiu. Let’s play together sometime.”
“Oh, sure!” Tian Jiu nodded.
Feng Wu glanced at Chiyan expressionlessly, which only made Chiyan’s grin wider.

The Celebration:
Fire exited the stage to regroup with their coach. Their coach didn’t blame them; instead, he stayed gracefully below the stage to watch FOX take their team photos and accept the flower ceremony from the organizers.
The MVP of the match went to Feng Wu. His triple-kill during the final team fight was simply too flashy to ignore. However, looking at the overall performance, not a single member of FOX had lagged behind.
Zhou Funian, finally having something to celebrate after years of struggle, was over the moon. He immediately booked an incredibly expensive Western restaurant and took the team out for a celebratory feast.
Since their next match wouldn’t be for at least another week, they allowed themselves to indulge. After the afternoon review, they ordered a mountain of food back to the base and had a proper drinking session.
Tian Jiu took only one sip of the alcohol before being repelled by the sharp, pungent taste. Mo Li didn’t drink either, but the other four were having a blast.
Zhou Funian drank the most but had the lowest tolerance. Soon, he was laughing and crying at the same time, draping his arms over his teammates’ shoulders to recount the “glory days” of his youth. He talked about how he was once a young man with dreams, and how he would have a family of his own by now if he hadn’t been sabotaged.
Then he moved on to how difficult it had been since FOX was founded, and how he and Feng Wu had grown increasingly desperate.
“I wasn’t desperate,” Feng Wu countered calmly.
Zhou Funian: “…Shut up.”
Lin Luohai laughed loudly. “Who isn’t happy? I thought I’d be stuck in the Lower District forever, considering I couldn’t even afford a gaming pod.”
Without a pod, he couldn’t afford the equipment durability costs. Now, the salary FOX paid him was enough to clear some of his debts. If they reached the Middle League, he’d get a bonus; if they reached the Top tier or even the Interstellar League, he’d have both fame and fortune.
“So how did you end up owing so much money anyway?” Shi Xincheng asked curiously.
Lin Luohai waved it off. “It’s not important. It’ll be solved soon.”

“By the way,” Tian Jiu asked Shi Xincheng, “were you the Defender who played with us that one time?”
Shi Xincheng paused before it clicked. He nodded. “That was me.”
“I knew it!” Tian Jiu bumped Feng Wu’s shoulder excitedly. “See? I told you it was him.”
Feng Wu chuckled. “Mhm. I lost. I’ll take you out for pizza tomorrow.”
“Hooray!”
The others were confused. “What are you guys talking about?”
Shi Xincheng explained that before the trials, he had run into Feng Wu and Tian Jiu in a random match while they were playing against WE. His ID back then was [Stone Who Will Die Without Fengshen]. His unexpected maneuvers back then had surprised both of them.
Before dinner, Coach Zhou had mentioned WE’s upcoming match, reminding Tian Jiu of the encounter. He’d made a bet with Feng Wu and won.
“So that was you. No wonder,” Zhou Funian sighed, taking another drink. “I really hope we can go far this time.”
He looked at Feng Wu, then at Tian Jiu sitting beside him. Feng Wu was undeniably charming—his looks, his status, his personality, and his skill made him an “ideal type” that most could only admire from afar. It was understandable why previous teammates had developed feelings for him.
Zhou Funian and Feng Wu had both suffered from that in the past. But now that Tian Jiu was here, Feng Wu finally showed signs of genuine interest. It was just a pity Tian Jiu was an Omega without pheromones; Zhou Funian wondered if “vague feelings of like” alone could soothe Feng Wu’s periodically restless pheromones.

Confirmation in the Moonlight:
The gathering finally broke up around 11:00 PM.
Tian Jiu took a fragrant bath, but just as he was about to get into bed, his AI Erguotou notified him of a message from Feng Wu, asking him to open the balcony door. Their bedrooms were adjacent, and the balconies were connected.
Tian Jiu hurried to the balcony in his slippers. He pulled back the curtain to see Feng Wu standing there. The moonlight was bright tonight. Feng Wu’s hair was slightly damp, and his high-quality black silk pajamas reflected the dim light. Standing with his back to the moon, his features looked deeper and more serene than usual.
So handsome! Tian Jiu’s eyes sparkled. He quickly slid open the glass door. “Captain.”
“Can I come in?” Feng Wu asked with a smile.
“Of course!” Tian Jiu was a bit dazed. Captain used to just walk right in, why is he being so polite tonight?
Feng Wu stepped inside and placed a bottle of warm milk on the table.
“Did you warm this for me, Captain?” Tian Jiu looked up at him.
“Mhm.” Feng Wu looked down at him.
“Thank you, Captain. You’re so good to me.” Tian Jiu gave him a sweet smile.
Feng Wu let out a soft laugh. “After the match this morning, you said I could hug you one more time. Remember?”
Tian Jiu nodded. “Yeah, but then we were kicked out of the game.”
“So, can I hug you now?”
Tian Jiu was confused. “Of course, but why?” Does the Captain have some kind of OCD about unfinished tasks?
Feng Wu felt his heart start to race again. He said softly, “I want to confirm something.”
Or perhaps, he didn’t need to confirm it at all; he already had the answer in his heart.
“Oh.” Tian Jiu was baffled. What kind of thing needs a hug to confirm? Regardless, he gave Feng Wu a bright smile. “Then go ahead and hug, Captain.”
The soft little Omega opened his arms without a shred of defense, his posture naturally intimate and reliant.
Feng Wu clearly heard the sound of his heart pounding against his ribs. An unnatural shiver spread through him, making his hands tremble slightly. He leaned forward, wrapping his arms around Tian Jiu’s waist.
He could easily encircle the person in his arms with one hand; with two, he pulled the boy into a seamless embrace. The small, soft body of the Omega was tucked into his chest, their warmth mingling. Feng Wu buried his face in the crook of Tian Jiu’s neck, and that sweet, exotic fragrance filled his nose, bringing a sense of satisfaction he had never felt before.
It’s that scent again!
Feng Wu closed his eyes, but the fragrance teasingly vanished again. Unlike last time, however, the scent seemed to rush directly into Feng Wu’s soul, making his heart feel numb and desperate to chase more.
Tian Jiu stood on his tiptoes and wrapped his arms around Feng Wu’s neck. His cheek was pressed tightly against Feng Wu’s, and the hot breath against his skin triggered a strange palpitation. Tian Jiu attributed this to the natural reaction of being so close to his idol, and he found himself thinking about how broad the Captain’s shoulders were and how comfortable the hug felt.
“Captain… I can smell your pheromones,” Tian Jiu whispered.
As a Super S+ Alpha, Feng Wu possessed a rare “conceptual” pheromone that couldn’t be described by a specific object; it felt different to everyone. To Tian Jiu, it smelled fresh and cool, like the first ray of morning sun hitting the mountain mist and dew after a light rain. It was incredibly comfortable.
Feng Wu stiffened, realizing he had indeed accidentally leaked some pheromones. This was the first time since reaching adulthood which is outside of his manic periods that he had leaked pheromones unconsciously.
Feng Wu reined in his pheromones and slowly released Tian Jiu from the embrace. That strange sweetness still lingered in his mind. Recalling what Ji Xianzhang had said that day, a wild guess suddenly formed in Feng Wu’s heart.
He reached out and smoothed Tian Jiu’s hair. “Come with me to the hospital tomorrow.”
“What’s wrong, Captain?” Tian Jiu asked, startled. “Are you feeling unwell?”
“No,” Feng Wu chuckled. “I want to have a doctor look at your gland.”
Even if that strange sweetness wasn’t a pheromone, Ji Xianzhang’s words had left Feng Wu uneasy. He had to know what happened to Tian Jiu’s gland. If there were any potential health risks, they needed to catch them early.
Tian Jiu thought about it and understood. The Captain was worried about long-term side effects. Neither he nor the original host had ever had a proper medical check-up on the gland. Since glands were so vital to AOs, it was only right to check it.
“I understand, Captain,” Tian Jiu agreed obediently.
Feng Wu nodded. “Get some rest. I’ll wake you up tomorrow morning.”
“Huh?” Tian Jiu’s eyes went round. The Captain is going to wake me up?
“Mhm.” Feng Wu ruffled his hair, preparing to leave in an excellent mood.
Tian Jiu was dazed for a moment before calling out to his retreating back, “By the way, Captain, did you confirm what you needed to confirm?”
Feng Wu paused and turned back to look at him. “I confirmed it.”
Confirmed it more than anything else.
Tian Jiu gave him an innocent smile. “That’s good then. Goodnight, Captain.”
Feng Wu curled his lip. “Goodnight.”
My Omega.
