Just as Yan Jin was succumbing to a fatal illness, he bound himself to a mysterious System. He spent all his accumulated points to cure himself, only to be immediately struck by a car and transmigrated into ancient China.

He woke up as the eldest Senior Brother of a dilapidated medical clinic. His new life is a chaotic mess: a chronically drunk Master, a Junior Sister who never stays home, a Junior Brother with a missing brain cell, and a “free-loading” System. To top it off, his new body is naturally frail one wrong move away from death’s door.

Overwhelmed by the absurdity, Yan Jin’s mental state began to crumble, until he took in a new Junior Brother.

The younger disciple, Su Huai, is a genius composed, polite, and exceptionally talented. However, he seemingly despised Yan Jin, the very man who raised him. This cold rivalry persisted until one day, Yan Jin discovered that his medicinal meals were all personally prepared by Su Huai.

Upon closer inspection, everything from the repairs of the courtyard to the seasonal changes in his wardrobe was managed by Su Huai. Even the holes in his undergarments were mended by the boy’s own hand.

Yan Jin realized with a start that he had been “domesticated.” Terrified of the romantic implications, he tried to bolt. He hadn’t even made it two miles before running straight into Su Huai.

As the younger man closed in, Yan Jin shouted in a moment of desperate wit: “I am your Senior Brother! You mustn’t be reckless!”

Su Huai smiled softly and nodded. He draped a cloak over Yan Jin, wrapping him up tightly. “The night wind is rising. I have soup warming back home to ward off the cold. Come back with me.” After a pause, he added, “Senior Brother.”

Yan Jin wept internally: I don’t want to go back!
