- Chapter 3 - The Zerg World
It is an established fact that I have transmigrated. Furthermore, I have transmigrated into the very novel I wrote myself. So, what comes next? How should I play this out?
The doctor, a sub-female, left after examining my body. Before departing, he simply advised me to get plenty of rest and explained that the current physical fatigue I am feeling is a normal phenomenon during the sub-adult period.
I leaned against the headboard of the hospital bed, feeling a bit bored, and began to review everything that had just happened.
I have been awake for a while now, but the system I imagined has yet to appear. It seems there is not one, which makes sense, as I never designed a system when I wrote this novel.
However, having read too many novels, I could not help but feel that I transmigrated because I wrote this story and tortured the protagonist, and now I need to save him. After all, that is how the authors in the transmigration novels I read always wrote it.
Coincidentally, I am the type of author who writes angst. I do not just torture others; even in my own arc, the entire plot consisted of endless misunderstandings and tragic romance. You could say I did not even spare myself.
Well, that is very Yi Xuan. I just love that kind of intense drama.
Based on the situation before the transmigration, we likely transmigrated as a group. If nothing goes wrong, the others should be at the same spawn points I originally wrote for them. Therefore, now is the time to think about what to do next.
I propped my head up and cast my gaze out the window. My thoughts gradually drifted, and the story I once wrote began to reorganize itself in my mind. One detail after another began to surface.
My book was written around a core setting. Unlike traditional human-to-human or human-to-beast transmigration, this world does not have humans. Or rather, they once existed, but they have been extinct for hundreds of millions of years.
As time passed, another supreme race emerged: they call themselves the Zerg.
Here, there is no distinction between men and women; there are only males and females. Regardless of gender, they all possess physiological structures similar to ancient human males, but that is where the similarity ends; there are still significant differences.
For instance, among the Zerg, they are divided into three genders: female Zerg, sub-females, and male Zerg.
Female Zerg have strong bodies and form the core fighting force of the Zerg. Among them, there is a specific category: military females, who represent the pinnacle of Zerg strength. Not only that, but they also possess birth cavities capable of nurturing the next generation. However, everything has a downside. While their physical constitution is extremely high and their self-healing ability is astonishing, they have a fatal weakness: their mental sea. Their mental sea is extremely fragile and chaotic. From adulthood onwards, they are constantly tortured by this chaos. If the mental sea collapses completely, no matter how powerful their bodies are, all consciousness will be destroyed, leading to a painful death.
Sub-females also belong to the female category. They are equally capable of bearing offspring and suffer from the chaos of the mental sea, but unlike military females, their mental sea is relatively peaceful. However, their bodies are much more delicate compared to military females, which makes them more favored by male Zerg.
Regardless of whether they are sub-females or military females, they all have a gorgeous Zerg mark on their backs, right at the base of the neck. Naturally, this is the most intuitive way to distinguish their gender.
The last type, the male Zerg, are delicate, precious, and rare. They possess the ability that all females desperately crave: the power to perfectly soothe the mental sea. As mentioned, they are very delicate, so the probability of being conceived and surviving is extremely low, which has led to extreme gender imbalance within the Zerg race. Also, due to certain physical flaws, the personalities of male Zerg are often cruel and irritable.
I wrote the story according to this specific setting.
The story was described from my own perspective. This novel is a story about collective transmigration. Well, I wrote about my entire dormitory transmigrating, but who knew I would be so accurate? When I said transmigrate, we actually did.
The beginning of the novel was the scene after I transmigrated: this hospital. I did not transmigrate with my physical body; it is more like a soul transmigration. However, the Zerg I transmigrated into is essentially myself in this parallel world. We look exactly the same, and the moment I arrived, I possessed all the memories of that body.
He comes from a single-parent family. His female parent lived in the main star system in his early years, but for unknown reasons, he went to a third-tier planet to make a living while pregnant with me. The reason I came to the main star system this time is that my female parent died; he died due to a mental power riot.
Fortunately, before he died, he told me the origin of the original host.
Actually, my male parent is still alive and residing on the main star. My female parent was once a stunning figure of his generation. In the prime of his youth, he was forced to marry my male parent, a high-ranking aristocratic male Zerg. The process was not honorable. After the marriage, there was endless torture and suffering, causing a once-talented individual to slowly fall into the abyss. Eventually, my female parent could no longer bear it and left quietly. However, this was not permitted, so my female parent left the main star and settled on a third-tier planet. This place was chaotic, and the male Zerg did not have the energy to waste on a female Zerg, so he stopped paying attention to my female parent. It was only after arriving at the third-tier planet that my female parent discovered he was pregnant with me.
During pregnancy, a female Zerg requires the soothing of a male Zerg’s mental power, and the Zerg cub also requires the guidance of the male parent’s mental power. However, my female parent had just fled the main star and could not return. With no other choice, he had to endure the entire pregnancy alone. He had expected the cub in his womb would not survive, but unexpectedly, the cub was extremely tenacious. Not only did he survive, but he was also born as a big white egg without a Zerg mark, which is a male Zerg cub.
The probability of a male Zerg cub egg is several times lower than that of a female Zerg cub egg. Faced with this sudden surprise, my female parent first felt joy, but anxiety soon followed. One must understand that the mental power level of a Zerg egg is linked to the mental power levels of its parents. My female parent was a high-level metamorphic female who had climbed his way up from a low-level planet, and my male parent’s level just happened to be A-class. Therefore, the level of the male Zerg cub conceived by them could not be low. Yet, my female parent and I were in a chaotic third-tier planet, a known wasteland. For a high-level male Zerg to appear here, my female parent knew how dangerous this would be without even thinking about it.
During my childhood, I was hidden well by my female parent. I was rarely taken out, and even when I went out, I was carefully disguised as a female Zerg cub. But no matter how good the disguise was, there would eventually be a day to reach adulthood. Because of the early damage to his body and the years of suppressing his mental power, my female parent’s health deteriorated. Realizing he was running out of time, my female parent contacted my male parent behind my back.
Fortunately, although my male parent had numerous female servants and countless offspring in his name, there were truly none that had been successfully born and grown up. As mentioned before, male Zerg cubs are fragile and die easily if one is not careful. This is true under any circumstances.
Therefore, he was very concerned about Yi Xuan, the male Zerg cub abandoned outside. He immediately dispatched Zerg to the third-tier planet to find me. And I learned all of this just minutes before my female parent passed away on the day those Zerg arrived.
And so, confused and unknowing, I was brought back to the main star with the Zerg waiting on me hand and foot.
The story begins after I returned to the aristocratic family.
