The Delicate Beauty Grabbed the Cannon Fodder Villain’s Script [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 30
In the morning, the sunlight outside the window filtered through the thin curtains. Jian Tao woke up slowly and opened his misty eyes. The clean sunlight reflected in his pupils, making his eyes look exceptionally clear and bright.
However, Jian Tao closed his eyes immediately because the light was too stimulating. He rubbed them sleepily with his hand. At that moment, the person beside him used a hand to block the sunlight for him.
When Jian Tao opened his eyes again, he realized that someone was still lying next to him. Jiang Mu was propping himself up on one arm while watching him. He seemed to have been awake for a long time as there was no trace of tiredness on his face. Jian Tao had no idea how long Jiang Mu had been watching him.
Jian Tao immediately glared at him and turned his body away. He felt that his body was indeed more relaxed. Although his eyelids still felt hot and his whole body felt weak, the fever had subsided.
He finally understood why the plot had not gone wrong. Even if Jiang Mu did not lock him up for three days, he simply did not have the strength to go out.
While he was feeling discouraged, a hand reached over. Jiang Mu leaned close to Jian Tao’s ear and said, “Your fever has broken.” His tone sounded as if he were claiming credit for it.
Jian Tao continued to ignore him. At this point, Jiang Mu got out of bed and went to the bathroom. When he came out again, he was holding a warm, wet towel.
He helped Jian Tao sit up and used the warm towel to wipe his face. Jian Tao was not appreciative at all and snatched the towel away. “I will wipe it myself,” he said.
After grabbing the towel, Jian Tao felt uneasy again. He stole a glance at Jiang Mu and saw that the man was not angry. His face remained expressionless, which allowed Jian Tao to breathe a sigh of relief.
After rubbing his face a few times, Jian Tao threw the towel back to Jiang Mu and lay back down in the blankets, leaving only the back of his head visible to Jiang Mu.
Jiang Mu did not mind Jian Tao’s attitude. He leaned in to sniff Jian Tao’s neck and waited for a while before asking, “Tao Tao, what do you want for breakfast?”
Jian Tao immediately turned around to glare at him. “Who allowed you to call me Tao Tao?”
A look of disappointment appeared in Jiang Mu’s clear, cold eyes. “Then what should I call you?”
“You should call me Jian Tao. Use my full name. You are a big liar. The person I am supposed to marry is not even you. Stop acting like we are so close,” Jian Tao said fiercely.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Mu was silent for a moment. His face, which originally showed no change, somehow became gloomy. “Do not say things like that anymore. You belong to me,” he said.
Jian Tao wanted to argue back, but when he saw Jiang Mu’s terrifying expression, he swallowed his words. Just then, his stomach growled at an inappropriate time.
Jian Tao felt a bit embarrassed and said, “I want porridge, eggs, side dishes, and half a glass of milk.”
Jiang Mu’s expression finally softened. He replied, “I will go downstairs to get them for you.”
After saying that, Jiang Mu did not move. Jian Tao glanced at him and asked, “Why have you not gone yet?”
Jiang Mu looked at Jian Tao with a hint of hesitation in his eyes. He leaned down and kissed Jian Tao on the lips, then rubbed his lips against Jian Tao’s. He spoke softly with a bit of a pleasing tone. “Tao Tao, tell me, do I do it better, or does that man with the glasses do it better?”
Jian Tao was momentarily dazed by the bizarre question. He even forgot that Jiang Mu had just kissed him. He processed the question for a moment and then asked, “Are you talking about Su Wen?”
“Yes,” Jiang Mu replied. He then added, “The one who is shorter than me.”
Jian Tao was speechless. “Why are you asking that? What do you mean by better or not? Do I even need either of you? Both of you should stay away from me.”
As he spoke, he looked at Jiang Mu and displayed his young master temper. “Why are you still sitting here? Go get my breakfast already.”
To his surprise, Jiang Mu actually went downstairs obediently. Jian Tao was quite astonished. He wondered if his villainous aura had already surpassed Jiang Mu’s.
Before long, Jiang Mu returned with the meal. A servant followed behind him with a small table and placed it on the bed. Jiang Mu put the breakfast on it. It was a portion for two. Jiang Mu sat opposite Jian Tao and watched him while he ate, which made Jian Tao lose his appetite.
He did not eat much before stopping. He looked at Jiang Mu with a cold face while Jiang Mu continued to eat. Jiang Mu’s ears turned red under his gaze, and he stopped eating as well, then signaled the servant to take the breakfast away.
“I have to go to work now,” Jiang Mu said. Although his tone was still calm and cold, it carried a hint of reluctance.
Jian Tao felt relieved, thinking that the man was finally leaving. “Then go quickly,” he said.
Jiang Mu leaned in again to try to kiss him, but Jian Tao dodged. Jiang Mu was not angry and went to the dressing room to change.
When he emerged, he was wearing a suit. He looked cold, stern, and full of pressure. When he wore loungewear at home, one could still see a bit of humanity in him, but now it seemed completely gone.
Jiang Mu walked to the bedside and patted Jian Tao’s head. “Tao Tao, I am going to work. I will be back early tonight.”
Jian Tao thought to himself, “Who cares?”
After Jiang Mu left, Jian Tao shrank back into the blankets. He finally understood the true meaning of the plot. Given Jiang Mu’s current state, if Jian Tao were to keep a young lover, Jiang Mu would definitely tear him apart.
Horrifying images filled his mind until the system, 250, reminded him, “Tao Tao, the lover-keeping task can begin. Also, because you married the wrong person, you have already turned dark. You are hostile toward everyone, so you can cause as much trouble as you like.”
“Okay,” Jian Tao replied. He took out his new phone and checked the news. The news of his marriage to Jiang Mu was still the headline.
He wondered what kind of state Jiang Shi and Su Wen were in. They might be celebrating with champagne somewhere.
As he was lost in thought, the door opened. It was actually Su Wen. Jian Tao was surprised. Did Su Wen actually have the time to come and find him?
Jian Tao gave him a cold look. “Why did you not knock before coming in?”
Su Wen acted as if he had not heard. He walked to Jian Tao’s bedside and knelt down. He smiled and said, “Young Master, do you want to leave?”
Jian Tao had never seen Su Wen with such a patient smile. His voice was persuasive, but his bloodshot eyes made him look unfriendly. It made Jian Tao’s hair stand on end.
Seeing that Jian Tao did not respond, Su Wen thought he was considering it. He excitedly grabbed Jian Tao’s hand and stared directly at him. “Young Master, you can beg me,” he said.
Jian Tao felt that Su Wen’s state was not right. He quickly pulled his hand back and sneered, “Why would I want to leave? I am doing very well here. It is all thanks to your schemes.”
Su Wen’s face froze for a moment. He had not expected the usually foolish Jian Tao to realize that he was involved in this. His face darkened. “It is not too late. If you want to leave, I can take you away from here.”
Jian Tao turned his face away. “Why would I go with you? Who do you think you are?”
There was no way he would agree now. He had already entered his “dark mode.” To put it dramatically, the whole world was now his enemy. Furthermore, Jian Tao did not trust Su Wen at all. Who knew if he had even worse intentions?
The air was silent for a few seconds. The muscles in Su Wen’s cheeks twitched, and his expression became distorted. He suddenly grabbed Jian Tao’s wrist and pulled him toward himself. Jian Tao was startled and tumbled forward, ending up face-to-face with Su Wen.
Su Wen’s eyes became even redder. He stared intently at Jian Tao and asked, “Did he make you feel good last night?”
Such crude words made Jian Tao freeze for a moment. His face turned bright red from the insult. “What kind of nonsense are you talking about?”
Su Wen’s distorted expression did not soften. Even though his face was terrifying, he forced a smile. “How did he do it to you last night that made you not want to leave? I can do it too. I am not any worse than him.”
Jian Tao was still sick, and now his face was flushed an unnatural red from pure rage. He raised his hand and slapped Su Wen. It was a heavy, heartfelt blow that knocked Su Wen’s head to the side. “Shut up!” Jian Tao yelled.
Su Wen turned his face back with a smile and pressed his tongue against the bloody corner of his mouth. He took the hand that Jian Tao had just used to slap him and rubbed it against his burning cheek.
Jian Tao began to cough from anger. He was already ill, and now he coughed one after another, which sounded distressing.
After rubbing Jian Tao’s hand enough, Su Wen adjusted the glasses on his nose and returned to his usual demeanor. He stood up, patted Jian Tao’s back, and asked with concern, “Young Master, are you okay?”
Jian Tao pushed him. “Get out!”
Su Wen hugged him tighter. “Since the Young Master does not want to leave, I will stay here to accompany you.”
Jian Tao finally caught his breath. He broke away from Su Wen and glared at him. “Get out of here right now!”
Su Wen actually listened and stood up, returning to his calm and well-dressed self. He took a walkie-talkie out of his pocket. It was the one Jian Tao had left at home, and Su Wen had brought it with him. He shoved it into Jian Tao’s hand. “Young Master, you should use this to call me just like before. I will appear immediately.”
Jian Tao threw the walkie-talkie aside, but Su Wen picked it back up and placed it on the nightstand near him. Su Wen then took out his own walkie-talkie from his pocket. It was already tied with a bell. He shook it, and the bell made a crisp sound. He smiled and said, “Call me if you need anything.”
After Su Wen left Jian Tao’s room, he went back to his own room to take a cold shower to clear his head. He came out and changed into a clean suit, then left the house.
He was currently in an important period of taking over the Jian family. Aside from Jian Tao’s matters, this was the one thing that could not be delayed.
His car soon drove out of the Jian family gate. He had driven some distance before he turned back because the Bentley parked at the gate looked very familiar. On second thought, it should be Jiang Shi’s.
Su Wen parked his car next to the Bentley and got out. He walked around the front of the Bentley and looked through the driver’s side window. Sure enough, he saw Jiang Shi.
Jiang Shi was staring blankly at the villa through the window. His view was now blocked by Su Wen. It took him a while to snap out of it and meet Su Wen’s gaze.
Su Wen no longer had his usual gentleness. He directly knocked on the car window and said, “Get out.”
When Jiang Shi saw it was Su Wen, he immediately got out of the car. He grabbed Su Wen and asked, “How is Jian Tao? Why has he not come out yet?”
A mocking smile appeared on Su Wen’s lips. “Why are you asking about him? Did you not send him into your brother’s arms with your own hands?”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Shi’s face became distorted. He said through gritted teeth, “You had a part in this too, right? And was this not your idea in the first place?”
A cruel smile appeared on Su Wen’s lips. “Yes, it was my idea. But during this time, you never once told me that your brother liked Jian Tao.”
Jiang Shi froze as if struck by lightning. He muttered, “My brother likes Jian Tao?”
Su Wen adjusted Jiang Shi’s tie. Jiang Shi had not even changed out of his groom’s outfit, and his head was still wrapped in gauze. His miserable appearance was laughable. “How stupid are you to not even know this?” Su Wen asked.
Jiang Shi continued to mutter, “No wonder.” He then laughed at himself. “Actually, I should have realized it long ago.”
“Let me guess,” Su Wen said, staring at Jiang Shi with eyes full of venom. “You actually regretted it a long time ago, right? Then you went to your brother to change your mind. Your brother agreed verbally, and you actually believed him.”
Su Wen laughed maliciously. “An idiot like you deserves to be played by your brother.”
Jiang Shi’s eyes were wide with rage. He grabbed Su Wen’s collar tightly. “How are you any better than me? You thought of the plan, and you were the one who personally sent Jian Tao to the Jiang family. I am not the only stupid one. You are the biggest idiot!”
Su Wen pushed Jiang Shi away and straightened his tie. He looked proud and composed. “So what if I did all of this? I can still stay by his side. But what about you? Can you even see him once?”
After saying that, Su Wen walked past Jiang Shi, got into his car, started the engine, and drove away.
When the car reached the intersection, he slammed on the brakes. He leaned against the steering wheel and gasped for air. The scenes of him sending Jian Tao over yesterday kept playing in his mind. If only there were an “if.” If he had made a change at any step, the result would have been different.
Or even earlier, if he had canceled the plan in advance, the result would not be as it is now.
Jian Tao stayed in bed all day. Aside from playing mini-games, he got up to feed the fish and birds.
It was not until after four in the afternoon that Jiang Mu returned. Looking at the time, he really did come back early on purpose.
Jian Tao shrank back into the blankets. When Jiang Mu came in, he did not even have time to take off his clothes before walking to the bed. He leaned over to look at Jian Tao as if he could only feel at ease after seeing him. Then he went to the dressing room to get clean clothes and came out after showering and changing.
Jian Tao was daydreaming on his side. He felt the space beside him sink, and a fresh scent of soap filled his nose.
Jiang Mu reached out to feel Jian Tao’s forehead and asked, “Did you feel unwell at all today?”
Jian Tao turned his body away again, leaving only the back of his head for him. He then felt the person behind him lean in, burying his nose in Jian Tao’s neck. Jian Tao’s body froze.
After a while, Jiang Mu pulled away. He wrapped his arm around Jian Tao’s waist and propped himself up to look at Jian Tao’s profile. “Are you bored from staying at home? Let me take you out for some fresh air.”
Jian Tao still ignored him. Jiang Mu went ahead and put on his shoes, then picked Jian Tao up, found a coat for him, and knelt down to put on Jian Tao’s shoes.
Jian Tao kept trying to dodge. If it were Su Wen, he might have felt it was normal, but since it was the cold and terrifying Jiang Mu, he felt a bit uncomfortable.
After putting on the shoes, Jiang Mu looked up at him. “Do you want me to carry you on my back or in my arms?”
Jian Tao glared at him. “I have legs. I can walk by myself.”
Jiang Mu led him for a walk in the courtyard. The courtyard of this villa was very large. When he was in the room, Jian Tao saw that the backyard looked like a garden. Although the front yard was not as large, it was well-maintained.
Jiang Mu insisted on holding Jian Tao’s hand. Jian Tao could not break free at all. In fact, he did not find Jiang Mu that annoying, but his current situation was awkward.
According to the plot, he needed to stay by Jiang Mu’s side to cause trouble, and Jiang Mu had not done anything to actually harm him. One could even say he was very attentive. However, Jian Tao could not stand the constant touching and kissing!
Because he was now in “dark mode” and did not want to be touched constantly, he behaved as if he were very annoyed with Jiang Mu.
As they walked, they ended up under the large banyan tree. It was the place where Jiang Shi had held him on his birthday and said those words that now felt like a knife to the heart. Jiang Shi had given him beautiful illusions, saying their first time would be on their wedding night. Yet, here he was, with Jiang Mu holding his hand as they walked to this very spot.
“Do you want to sit for a while?” Jiang Mu asked.
Jian Tao looked at the swing and replied, “I am not a child. What is there to sit on?”
Jiang Mu nodded in agreement. “My father installed that swing when we were young. Jiang Shi likes it, but I do not.”
Jian Tao looked at Jiang Mu in surprise. He knew that Jiang Mu’s parents had died in a car accident, but he did not expect him to mention them.
Jian Tao sighed. He also thought of his own parents. With a look of sorrow on his face, he sat on the swing. He looked up and asked Jiang Mu, “Your parents must have loved you very much, right?”
“Probably,” Jiang Mu replied. He walked to Jian Tao’s side and gently swayed the rope of the swing.
Jian Tao looked at Jiang Mu with confusion. “Did your parents favor Jiang Shi?”
Jiang Mu shook his head blankly. The image of the four of them standing around the swing appeared in his mind. The scene was sunny and clean. Jiang Shi was running around the swing, and there was laughter. To outsiders, this must have been a warm scene.
However, he felt nothing. He only mechanically remembered his mother teaching him day after day to love and protect his younger brother and to not hurt him.
He always felt his mother was strange. He had clearly never hurt his brother. That time his brother fell into the pool, it was not him who pushed him. Yet, his parents still pushed him aside in anger. After pulling his brother out, they kept criticizing and scolding him.
He just felt his brother was always crying and noisy, which was very annoying. He watched from the edge of the pool, wondering if his brother would actually drown.
Thinking about this, Jiang Mu nodded again. “Maybe a little bit.”
Jian Tao felt that Jiang Mu was a bit strange, but it also seemed reasonable. “I knew it must be like that. Jiang Shi is so temperamental because he was favored. You are so gloomy because you were definitely the unloved one.”
Jian Tao made wild guesses and was not afraid of offending him. Jiang Mu did not feel anything and even continued to nod in agreement. After that incident, he carried a sense of responsibility. His parents would nag him every day to love his brother and even took him to see a doctor. Even when the car accident happened, the first thing his mother said to him was to protect his brother.
Those words seemed to be implanted in his DNA, reminding him at all times in the years to come. He wanted to be obedient because that was what his parents had always taught him.
But now that he had met Jian Tao, he did not want to do that anymore.
“Am I gloomy?” Jiang Mu looked at Jian Tao and asked very seriously.
Jian Tao was speechless for a moment. “Are you not?”
Jiang Mu seemed a bit disappointed. “Do you not like it?”
Jian Tao snorted. “What does it have to do with me whether I like it or not?”
Jiang Mu pursed his lips and did not speak. Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he immediately told Uncle Chen to go to his study to get something.
Jian Tao looked at the silent Jiang Mu. “What? Are you angry?”
Jiang Mu shook his head and said, “I will show you something in a moment. You will definitely like it too.”
“What is it?” Jian Tao muttered. The wind blew, making the banyan leaves rustle. Jiang Mu stood beside Jian Tao. He was tall, so Jian Tao had to look up to see him. At this moment, he had a smile on his face, and he actually looked a bit innocent.
Jian Tao found his own discovery unbelievable. It must be an illusion.
Eventually, Uncle Chen came running with the item. It was a scroll. When it was opened, it was revealed to be a blueprint.
Jiang Mu knelt down and placed the blueprint on Jian Tao’s lap. He pointed at it excitedly and said, “Look, this is where we will live in the future. I designed a sky garden. You can swing there, and you can also walk the birds.”
Jian Tao looked at the blueprint on his lap and was surprised. Even though it was just a drawing, he could see the beauty of the final result.
Jiang Mu observed Jian Tao’s expression as if he had discovered a pleasant surprise. “You like it too.”
Jian Tao immediately crumpled the blueprint into a ball and threw it at him to prove that he did not like it.
Jiang Mu unfolded the crumpled paper again. “You will like it once it is built.”
Jiang Mu felt that Jian Tao’s preference was very important. When he first met him in the woods without his mask, he felt that only the things he designed were worthy of Jian Tao. Jian Tao should live in such a place.
This was the first person he had ever liked, and it was the first time he had felt the taste of liking someone. Therefore, he wanted to give Jian Tao everything he had.
