The Days I Was Secretly Loved by the All-Girls School Beauties - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
“The mission failed again?”
Yun Zhan wore a long black overcoat, her gaze shallowly sweeping across the inky dark clouds in the distance.
The missions had failed too many times; she was already numb.
“Why was it this time?” Yun Zhan tilted her head and asked casually.
“The male lead and his biological sister, Su Jue, both fell in love with you… Su Jue turned against her own brother. Now the male lead has been forced overseas and Su Jue has also been purged by the male lead. The world collapsed,” 21 briefly explained the situation.
21 was the System that had been with Yun Zhan for many years. Since its factory production date was the 21st, it was simply named 21.
Before long, a drizzling rain started to fall from the sky. The moisture hidden in the evening wind seeped into Yun Zhan’s loose trench coat.
Yun Zhan disliked rain because every world collapse was accompanied by rain. She actually performed very well, both in her personal execution and her control over the plot, but ultimately the missions always failed.
The reason was simple—in every world, many people would deviate from the original plot and fall in love with her.
“Understood.”
It was a bit cold around her. Yun Zhan closed her eyes and couldn’t help but cough a few times.
A sudden cold gust of wind blew away the stray hairs on her forehead, revealing her delicate and lovely face.
Yun Zhan, as her name suggested, was extremely clean and beautiful. Her refined features were somewhat cold and detached. Her cold-white skin looked even more flawless against the black clothing. When she slightly turned her head, she momentarily stunned 21.
“Actually… Yun Zhan, I can suddenly understand why those people fall in love with you. Purely based on appearance… you really look quite striking…”
A mechanical sound intermittently hummed in her mind. Yun Zhan’s uniquely distinctive appearance had even touched 21, a System, let alone her real-life suitors.
21 changed the subject and continued: “It’s just that your heart is too cold. You can truly heartlessly reject everyone who loves you. We actually don’t restrict you from dating. Their love for you is genuinely real. Haven’t you ever been moved? Like Su Jue, she’s still in the hospital now… hovering between life and death.”
In 21’s former words, Yun Zhan was an emotionless, cold-hearted ghost. Neither men nor women could spark her interest. She was like an AI robot: intelligent, calm, and composed in her actions, facing danger with a composure that wasn’t normal for a human being.
Su Jue…
Yun Zhan looked up, her thoughts drifting far away.
In Yun Zhan’s eyes, the characters in every world were only divided into two categories: the crucial protagonists for the plot and other irrelevant passersby.
Clearly, Su Jue belonged to the latter.
Yun Zhan recalled her. The girl was exceptionally gentle, speaking softly and slowly. Being with her was always comfortable, like bathing in a spring breeze. She had bright lips and white teeth, and clear, intelligent eyes, very much like a noble young mistress born south of the Yangtze River.
It was only after the System told her that Yun Zhan belatedly realized and understood the hidden affection in Su Jue’s eyes when she looked at her in her memories…
Raindrops pattered on the leaves. The crisp sound echoed in the woods. Looking out the window, everything was pitch black. Yun Zhan’s clenched hand rested on the window sill. She took a couple of breaths; a sense of dullness faintly spread from her chest, much like this dark, rainy forest.
She still went out. A clear umbrella covered her tall figure. As raindrops slid down her cheeks and she reached the hospital entrance, the surface of her boots was slightly wet. She closed her umbrella and followed 21’s instructions toward Su Jue’s room.
This was the best hospital in the entire city, with the best medical equipment and the most authoritative medical personnel. Everyone staying here was wealthy or noble. Yun Zhan hesitated for a few seconds before pushing open the ward door. Tonight, only the two of them were here.
The girl lying on the hospital bed was not as radiant as usual, but still stunningly beautiful. A retention needle was stuck in the back of Su Jue’s hand. Her dark hair covered her thin face, making her look like a fragile porcelain doll.
Su Jue seemed to sense her presence. Her eyes, covered with a thin mist, instantly cleared when she saw who came in. She was in so much pain… Tears welled up in her eyes. Being able to see the person she loved before she died was already a great comfort to her.
Su Jue couldn’t speak, but the rapidly jumping dynamic electrocardiogram monitor beside the bed betrayed her.
“Why are you like this? I might not be worth it…”
Yun Zhan gently held the hand she reached out. She didn’t dare touch the back of Su Jue’s hand, nor did she have the courage to meet Su Jue’s burning gaze.
“I love you, Yun Zhan.” Su Jue clenched Yun Zhan’s hand tightly. The illness forced her voice to tremble. She took several breaths and courageously confessed openly: “Yun Zhan… I’m actually really afraid of my brother. He is very powerful, extremist, and cruel. But I couldn’t stand watching him make things difficult for you because of his love for you. I want you to be well. I gathered the last bit of courage I had to… oppose him.”
She expressed her love directly and passionately, enduring the pain to place Yun Zhan’s hand over her chest. The girl’s beautiful eyelashes fluttered slightly. Her pale lips expressed the last demand of her life.
“I like you so much… Can I hug you? I don’t think I’ve ever been embraced by you…”
“Yun Zhan… I just want you to be alright…”
The day Su Jue was buried was sunny. The sky was clear for thousands of miles without clouds. The sun gently fell onto the lawn, warming every inch of skin.
Yun Zhan stood in front of her tombstone for a long, long time. She suddenly remembered that this was the first time she had seen such beautiful weather in this world.
Yun Zhan stared at the black tombstone. Su Jue did not die honorably. The Su family left no meaningful words on her tombstone; it only had a few lines with her name and death date.
“I thought you would shed a tear,” 21’s electronic voice rang in her mind.
Yun Zhan pulled out a cigarette box from her pocket, took one out, lit it, and the curling smoke obscured her slightly reddened eyes. She rubbed her temples, showing a rare look of fatigue.
“You’ve been smoking a lot lately. You’ve developed a nicotine habit. You smell terrible! Why did you suddenly evolve into a chain smoker?” 21 complained.
Yun Zhan didn’t reply to it. After a while, she said: “Let’s go to a yuri novel world next.”
21: “So sudden?”
Yun Zhan: “Firstly, I don’t want to be liked by so many people anymore. Perhaps a yuri world will be slightly better. Secondly, my subjective will now wants to go to a yuri novel.”
21 quickly reviewed the available yuri worlds. Only one was left.
The background of this world takes place in a prestigious all-girls school rife with undercurrents.
Mingdun Women’s School was established in the early 18th century, specializing in admitting girls from the aristocratic class from the start. The faculty was highly qualified, and the academic atmosphere was rich. However, because it was an aristocratic school, the class hierarchy was extremely strict, and the students inside were divided into different ranks based on their birth background.
Yun Zhan needs to survive in this all-girls school and unveil the school’s mysterious facade, solving the deep-seated secrets.
It’s worth mentioning that this school is filled with beauties, and homosexual affection is very prevalent. Many “unspeakable” things between girls have occurred in the deserted basement, the secluded back garden, and the towering rooftop balcony…
Reading up to this point, 21 quietly glanced at the exceptionally beautiful Yun Zhan, pondering before saying: “You are truly blessed…”
Yun Zhan was born beautiful, with a high nose bridge and exquisite features. She had a height of 1.73 meters (about 5’8) with excellent body proportions. When she maintained a cold expression, she was perfectly like a sculpture.
21 thought that for a girl as beautiful as Yun Zhan, entering this school was like a lamb walking into a tiger’s den. Being targeted was only a matter of time.
However, it was also genuinely curious about how its ascetic and sexually indifferent host would cope…
The freshmen orientation ceremony at Mingdun School was exceptionally lively.
Under the System’s arrangement, Yun Zhan became a transfer student. She quietly looked up, taking in the ancient castle-like school.
The main building of the school was a Gothic Revival red brick castle. The towers were high, and the spires pointed toward the grey-blue sky like praying fingers. The walls were inlaid with intricate stone carvings of vines and lily crests. The window frames were stained glass, refracting scattered rainbow colors—rose, cobalt blue, and golden green—onto their black dresses, like the flowing skirts of the Virgin Mary spread out on the stone steps.
21 was right; the students here were indeed wealthy and noble, each possessing an ethereal demeanor and an innate sense of aristocracy.
Yun Zhan silently withdrew her gaze. As a transfer student, she followed at the very end of the freshmen queue.
They followed the school’s arrangement, uniformly dressed in long black wool dresses: high necks, cinched waists, and three layers of lace trim on the cuffs. As they walked, their skirts brushed the ground with a rustling sound.
Yun Zhan’s innate unique temperament made her stand out in the queue. Her image as a cold beauty attracted the attention of many upperclass students.
The eyes of the older girls were cast toward this batch of newcomers, and they all eventually settled their gaze on Yun Zhan.
The school uniform here was standardized. The cinched black long dress perfectly highlighted the figure, but the monotonous black was not currently fashionable, leading to some aesthetic fatigue after a long look.
However, precisely within such a lineup, Yun Zhan’s cold-white skin was extremely noticeable. Her sculptural profile curved the lips of several female students.
“The girl at the very end is interesting. She’s the type I like.” The audacious glances of several girls fell upon Yun Zhan. For aristocratic girls, liking or appreciating the same sex was as commonplace as eating and drinking.
“You’re right. Among this batch of students, only the last girl is good-looking. I wonder which family she’s from. Send someone to ask later.”
“Sisters, I really like this one. You’ve all had girlfriends, can you let me have her?”
The frequent side-glances from the girls drew the dissatisfaction of the supervising teacher. The middle-aged woman in her forties suddenly furrowed her brow and stopped, sternly reprimanding them: “Have you all finished your coursework? For those who fail the end-of-month test, I will personally speak with your parents and tell them that Mingdun School does not need lazy and ignorant students!”
After the crowd hurriedly dispersed, the supervising teacher walked with a straight back and a gloomy expression to the end of the line. She silently fixed her gaze on Yun Zhan, scrutinizing her face, and said meaningfully: “Mingdun School has strict discipline. Things that should not be done must not be done. You must always maintain a heart that reveres the rules.”
Yun Zhan lowered her head, her raven-feather eyelashes fluttering a few times. Her cold and clear voice answered obediently: “Understood.”
In the evening, Mingdun held the freshmen welcoming ceremony.
It was undoubtedly tedious and uninteresting. The main hall of the chapel had a fully glazed skylight. Nineteen curved glass panes refracted the light into three hundred tiny streaks of rainbow color, reflecting onto their black dresses.
The elderly headmistress, with her grey-white hair coiled high, lowered her gold-rimmed glasses and recited the Founding Charter, which she had read countless times. The school song, which had been sung hundreds of times, was sung again.
This year was no different from previous ones. Yun Zhan sat in the corner of the auditorium. Even though she tried her best to hide her presence, she could still feel the gazes projected from around her.
“See? I told you you’d be popular. Even in a yuri world, you’re still attractive,” 21 chirped happily. Surrounded by beautiful girls, no world had ever excited it so much.
“Shut up,” Yun Zhan couldn’t stand it anymore. She made an excuse of feeling unwell to the supervising teacher and quietly slipped out the back door.
