- Chapter 25 - The Goodnight Kiss: Wen Yusheng’s Heart, for the First Time, Was in Disarray
Wen Yusheng’s words were like a branding iron heated to a glowing red, ruthlessly searing themselves into Su Yang’s nerves.
In that instant, her brain completely ceased to function.
It was a total blank.
She could only stare blankly at Wen Yusheng, who was mere inches away, watching those eyes that had grown unnaturally bright with excitement. She felt the warmth of her breath—carrying the scent of wine and her own unique fragrance—puffing rhythmically against her sensitive earlobe.
Senior… what did she just say?
She’s been thinking about it since the first time she saw me wiping away sweat?
She wanted to see my muscles tighten under her hands?
This… what kind of bold, scandalous words are these!
Su Yang felt as though her entire being was catching fire. In her twenty years of life, she had never heard words so blunt, so explicit.
Moreover, these words had come from the mouth of the Senior Wen she held in her heart—the woman who was cold and clear as the moon, seemingly untainted by the mortal world. This immense sense of contrast brought with it an indescribable, lethal thrill.
Su Yang felt like she was going crazy.
She wanted to run. She wanted to flee immediately from this situation that left her helpless and flustered. Yet, her body felt as if it were nailed to the sofa, unable to move an inch. Her limbs were weak, and she couldn’t muster a shred of strength. She could only allow Wen Yusheng—like an elegant predator enjoying its prey—to pin her firmly beneath her.
“Se… Senior…”
Su Yang’s voice was as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, tinged with a thick nasal tone that sounded like a mix of acting spoiled and being on the verge of tears.
“You… don’t be like this… I’m scared…”
She truly was scared. But what she feared was herself. She feared this body that was out of her control, reacting so easily to Wen Yusheng’s touch. She feared the strange, surging tide of desire within her heart that made her feel both panicked and intoxicated.
“Scared?”
Hearing this, Wen Yusheng let out a low chuckle. Her laughter was exceptionally clear and captivating in the quiet apartment. She lifted her head, looking into Su Yang’s eyes—wet like a helpless fawn’s due to terror and stirring emotion—and a flash of playfulness crossed her gaze.
“Scared of what?”
She extended the tip of her tongue and lightly licked her somewhat dry lips. This movement was filled with a silent, lethal temptation.
“Are you afraid I’ll eat you?”
Wen Yusheng’s voice was light and soft, as if she were telling a harmless joke. But her eyes told Su Yang that she wasn’t joking. She truly had that intention.
Su Yang trembled under that gaze and instinctively wanted to shake her head. Before she could react, the hand Wen Yusheng had placed on her stomach moved. Her fingers curled slightly, using the pads to lightly trace and circle over Su Yang’s abdominal muscles.
She could clearly feel the muscles beneath her hand tighten instantly due to her actions.
“Look,” Wen Yusheng’s voice rang in Su Yang’s ear, carrying a hint of a tremulous, excited vibration. “It tightened.”
Su Yang felt like she was about to cry. She wanted Wen Yusheng to stop, yet she couldn’t bear for her to do so. She was addicted to the sensation—addicted to the temperature of Wen Yusheng’s fingertips and the sound of her voice. Reason and desire fought a war in her mind.
In the end, desire won.
Su Yang closed her eyes and gave up her struggle.
Wen Yusheng felt the person beneath her transition from stiffness to a gradual relaxation. She knew this “puppy” had been completely subdued by her. A smirk played on the corners of her mouth. However, she didn’t plan to let her off that easily.
Her hand didn’t move upward; instead, it slid along the waistline to the side. Through the thin fabric of the T-shirt, she could feel those beautiful waist dimples. Wen Yusheng’s throat tightened. But she knew it wasn’t the right time yet. Pushing too hard would scare her away.
Wen Yusheng took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the ever-intensifying desire to possess her completely. She withdrew her hand.
Just as Su Yang thought this sweet torment was finally coming to an end, Wen Yusheng suddenly leaned down and buried her face in the crook of Su Yang’s neck. Through the thin layer of fabric, Su Yang could clearly feel the temperature of Wen Yusheng’s cheek and her warm, wine-scented breath.
“Su Yang.”
Wen Yusheng’s voice came muffled. “Your heart… is beating so fast.”
Su Yang’s heart gave a violent jolt.
How could it not be fast? After being touched and teased like that, if it weren’t fast, I’d be dead!
Su Yang complained wildly in her mind, but she couldn’t utter a single word. She could only let Wen Yusheng—like a languid cat—rest her head against her shoulder, listening to that heartbeat that sounded like a thundering drum.
Thump, thump, thump.
The sound was exceptionally clear in the quiet apartment, beat after beat. It was like a background score composed for their current, ambiguous relationship.
Listening to this powerful heartbeat, Wen Yusheng felt her own heart—which had become restless with desire—miraculously calm down. She suddenly felt that this was quite nice. Just holding her like this, feeling her body heat and listening to her heart. It seemed… even more comforting and satisfying than doing those more intimate things.
She rubbed her face against the crook of Su Yang’s neck, finding a more comfortable position. Then, she closed her eyes and said softly, “Su Yang, I’m a little sleepy.”
Su Yang was stunned.
Sleepy? That’s it?
You teased me until I was burning up, and then you tell me you’re sleepy? Senior, you can’t play with people like this!
A thousand “grass mud horses” (expletives) stampeded through Su Yang’s heart. But she didn’t dare say it. She could only lie there stiffly, letting Wen Yusheng treat her like a human-sized pillow.
“Se… Senior,” she spoke with difficulty. “If you’re sleepy, go… go sleep in the bed.”
“No,” Wen Yusheng refused without a second thought. “The bed is too cold. It’s not as warm as it is here.”
Her voice carried a thick sense of drowsiness and dependency. Su Yang’s heart, once again, betrayed her and softened.
Fine, she thought. Let her sleep.
Anyway… being held by her like this… feels… pretty good.
Su Yang gave up her resistance. She reached out her arms and, somewhat stiffly, hugged Wen Yusheng back. Wen Yusheng’s body was soft and fragrant; holding her felt like holding a boneless cloud. Su Yang rested her chin on the top of Wen Yusheng’s head, smelling the pleasant fragrance in her hair, and felt her own racing heart gradually steady.
The aftereffects of the alcohol surged up at that moment. Su Yang felt her eyelids grow heavy. In the second before her consciousness sank completely into darkness, she heard Wen Yusheng murmur something in her arms in a voice that was almost like a dream.
She didn’t hear it clearly. She only felt that the voice was very beautiful and gentle. Like a moving lullaby, it accompanied her as she sank into a sweet dreamland.
What she didn’t know was that after she fell asleep, the Wen Yusheng who was supposed to be “asleep” slowly opened her eyes.
Her eyes were clear, without a trace of drowsiness. She lifted her head and looked at Su Yang’s face—which appeared exceptionally clean and harmless even in sleep—and a flash of complex emotion, which even she couldn’t explain, crossed her gaze.
There was calculation, desire, admiration, and a trace of… tenderness and indulgence that she herself had not yet realized.
She watched quietly for a long, long time. Then, she slowly leaned in. On Su Yang’s forehead, she lightly pressed a kiss as soft as a feather.
After finishing the action, she herself was stunned. She looked at Su Yang, her eyes filled with confusion and bewilderment. She didn’t understand why she had made such an impulsive move—one that was completely outside of her plan.
This kiss was different from all her previous teases. It carried no purpose or calculation. It was a pure, heartfelt, uncontrollable… goodnight kiss.
Wen Yusheng’s heart, for the first time, was in disarray.
