The Crematorium of the Top Omega Chasing After Alpha - Chapter 28.1
The atmosphere in the hospital room was silent and awkward, as if even the air had frozen solid.
Song Qingpei had initially thought that, given Ming Yu’s temperament, she would surely turn and leave. Yet to her surprise, Ming Yu merely wore a cold expression and didn’t even utter a word of rebuttal. What astonished Song Qingpei even more was that, despite Ming Yu’s obvious surge of anger, she restrained her emotions and continued to care for her, even asking if she wanted water.
This made Song Qingpei inwardly marvel: truly worthy of someone who could become a general, she could bend or stretch as needed to help her through her heat.
But the thought of marking Ming Yu stirred complex emotions within her. Although she had already agreed to Ming Yu’s condition, facing it now still left her feeling somewhat uneasy.
Meanwhile, Ming Yu stood to the side, her fingers unconsciously clenching into her palms. Unbidden, memories of their past intimate moments surfaced in her mind, igniting like flames and instantly stoking the heat within her body.
Her breathing grew slightly rapid, and an unnatural flush spread across her cheeks. The physical reaction only deepened her embarrassment.
Noticing Ming Yu’s unusual state, Song Qingpei glanced sideways at her. Her gaze fell upon Ming Yu’s slightly reddened earlobes and her somewhat hurried breaths, and understanding dawned on her.
She couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow slightly, a faint, elusive smile curling at the corner of her lips, though she remained silent.
Ming Yu felt even more uncomfortable under her gaze, as if her innermost thoughts had been completely laid bare. Abruptly, she stood up, her tone somewhat stiff: “I need to step out for a moment.”
With that, she practically fled the room.
Once outside, Ming Yu leaned against the corridor wall, taking a deep breath as she tried to calm the restlessness within.
She knew she couldn’t continue like this, the effects of her heat were already beginning to cloud her judgment.
Gritting her teeth, she strode directly to the doctor’s office.
“Doctor, give me the strongest suppressant shot,” Ming Yu said firmly.
The doctor looked up at her, somewhat surprised by the request, but dutifully insisted she undergo a checkup first.
Ming Yu didn’t argue. Instead, she called Li Man and had her electronic medical records synced to the hospital. When the doctor saw her records, his expression turned grave, tinged with sympathy.
The general truly disliked that kind of look.
She couldn’t help but say coldly, “Can I get the suppressant now?”
The doctor immediately nodded. “Yes, please wait a moment.”
A short while later, the doctor administered a potent suppressant. As the needle pierced her arm, the cold liquid flowed into her body, bringing a brief, sharp sting.
As the suppressant took effect, she felt the heat within her gradually recede, and her breathing steadied.
Ming Yu let out a sigh of relief, composed herself, and returned to the room.
When she pushed the door open, she found that Song Qingpei had already removed her IV and was standing by the bed, straightening her clothes as if preparing to leave.
“You’re better?” Ming Yu asked, a note of uncertainty in her voice.
Song Qingpei nodded calmly. “Much better. Let’s go back.”
“You don’t need to rush off. I can take care of Song Song,” Ming Yu said, still somewhat concerned.
Rarely hearing her speak so considerately, Song Qingpei couldn’t help but let her gaze linger on Ming Yu. Noticing the lingering blush on her face, a faint smile unconsciously tugged at the corners of her lips. “Let’s head back. How could we let the General make a scene in the hospital?”
Ming Yu caught the teasing in her tone, her expression stiffening slightly as a mix of embarrassment and awkwardness churned within her.
She wanted to retort but found herself at a loss for words. Pressing her lips together, she turned and walked toward the door. “Let’s go, then.”
They walked out of the hospital one after the other and boarded the hovercar.
Ming Yu took the driver’s seat, her eyes fixed straight ahead as if deliberately avoiding eye contact with Song Qingpei.
Song Qingpei, meanwhile, leaned back in the passenger seat, gazing out the window, her fingers lightly tapping against the glass as if lost in thought.
The only sound in the car was the low hum of the hovercar’s engine, making the silence feel particularly heavy.
Out of the corner of her eye, Ming Yu caught a glimpse of Song Qingpei’s profile, stirring a complex mix of emotions within her. She wanted to say something to break the suffocating silence but didn’t know where to begin.
“Are you really feeling better now?”
After a long pause, Ming Yu finally spoke, her voice slightly hoarse, carrying a hint of barely perceptible concern.
Song Qingpei turned her head and offered a faint smile. “Yes, much better. Thanks for your concern.”
Ming Yu nodded. She wanted to say more but felt at a loss, so she fell silent again.
The hovercar gradually merged into the aerial lane, the scenery outside the window whizzing past.
But inwardly, Ming Yu was panicking. The suppressant she had just taken was already losing its effect. It seemed that whenever she was with Song Qingpei, her pheromones became far more active than usual.
Her fingers trembled slightly, her breathing grew uneven, and her body was gradually heating up.
Song Qingpei seemed to notice her discomfort and glanced over. “Are you okay?”
Hearing this, Ming Yu stiffened slightly, her expression a mix of embarrassment and frustration.
Clenching her teeth, she forced a calm tone. “…I’m fine.”
Recognizing her discomfort, Song Qingpei didn’t press further, instead shifting her gaze away to spare Ming Yu further embarrassment.
But the heat inside Ming Yu intensified, her breathing growing more ragged. The overwhelming sensations even forced a suppressed, soft moan from her lips.
Song Qingpei, sharp-eared, couldn’t help but glance at her again. Ming Yu’s fair cheeks were flushed with an unnatural redness, clearly struggling to hold back the effects of her heat.
Song Qingpei hesitated several times, her fingers unconsciously tracing the edge of the car window as she debated whether to speak up.
Sensing her hesitation, Ming Yu looked at her, her voice trembling. “If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t hesitate.”
After a moment’s pause, Song Qingpei finally spoke. “How about, I give you some blood for now?”
Ming Yu’s expression instantly darkened. Gritting her teeth, she replied coldly, “No need. I can hold on. In your weakened state, I… I don’t have a habit of mistreating patients.”
Song Qingpei had no response to her stubbornness and could only shrug helplessly, saying nothing more.
She turned back to the window, but a faint unease lingered in her heart.
Ming Yu’s heat was clearly spiraling out of control. Could she really hold out until evening?
Silence once again filled the car, broken only by the low hum of the hovercar’s engine echoing in their ears.
Fine beads of sweat dotted Ming Yu’s forehead as waves of heat surged through her body, threatening to drown her rationality. She clenched her teeth, struggling to suppress the restlessness within, but the scorching sensation grew increasingly intense, causing her to tremble uncontrollably and emit low, stifled moans.
Hearing the sounds, Song Qingpei turned abruptly, her heart skipping a beat.
Ming Yu’s face had flushed a deep red, her gaze unfocused clearly, she had reached her limit.
“Ming Yu…” Song Qingpei’s voice was laced with conflict.
Ming Yu shuddered violently, biting down hard on her lower lip as she tried to restrain the turmoil inside her.
Yet the burning sensation became increasingly unbearable, her mind a chaotic whirl with only one clear thought: an irrepressible longing.
Seeing her in such agony, Song Qingpei felt a twist in her heart.
She knew Ming Yu was at her breaking point. If this continued…
Taking a deep breath, Song Qingpei finally made up her mind and reached out to gently press on Ming Yu’s shoulder.
Ming Yu stiffened instantly, turning her head to look at Song Qingpei with a mix of embarrassment and resistance in her eyes.
She wanted to push Song Qingpei’s hand away, but the moment they touched, her body clung desperately to the familiar warmth, pressing closer as if both rejecting and welcoming it.
After a moment’s hesitation, Song Qingpei leaned in and gently bit Ming Yu’s gland.
At the contact, Ming Yu shuddered again, letting out a suppressed moan.
Soon, her breathing gradually steadied, and the inner turmoil temporarily eased. But with this familiar sensation, a deeper craving was stirred within her, leaving her unsatisfied with such fleeting comfort.
To Ming Yu’s disappointment, however, Song Qingpei did not continue.
She quickly released Ming Yu and settled back into her seat, her tone calm. “Alright, rest for a while. The lingering effects of the soothing left Ming Yu’s body still trembling slightly, an indescribable emptiness welling up inside her. She wanted Song Qingpei, wanted more of her soothing touch.
But Song Qingpei had already distanced herself, as if nothing had happened between them.
Ming Yu’s heart swirled with complex emotions longing for Song Qingpei intertwined with an inexplicable sense of loss, leaving her chest tight and her breath almost bitter.
The hovercar glided smoothly into the aerial lane, the scenery outside whipping past.
When they finally arrived at their destination, Ming Yu stepped out stiffly, doing her best to conceal her awkwardness.
Back home, Song Song was sitting on the living room carpet, clutching a plush toy. Hearing the door open, she immediately looked up, her eyes sparkling as she gazed toward the entrance.
Seeing Song Qingpei and Ming Yu walk in together, she tossed the toy aside and happily ran over.
“Mom! Mommy!” Song Song spread her arms wide, throwing herself at Song Qingpei’s legs and hugging her tightly. Tilting her little face upward, she beamed like a blooming flower.
Song Qingpei bent down and gently ruffled Song Song’s hair, asking softly, “Were you good today?”
Song Song nodded vigorously, replying in her sweet, childish voice, “I was so good! Auntie Su even praised me!”
Standing to the side, Ming Yu watched the mother-daughter interaction, an unconscious smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
She crouched down and gently pinched Song Song’s cheek, her tone full of affection. “Song Song is so amazing.”
Song Song turned and threw herself into Ming Yu’s arms, wrapping her small arms tightly around her neck as she whined, “Mommy, why did you come back so late today? I’ve been waiting for so, so long!”
Ming Yu, slightly breathless from the tight hug, still smiled and patted her back. “Mommy was a little busy today. I’ll come back earlier next time to spend time with you, okay?”
Song Song let go, blinking her big eyes. “Promise? Next time, you have to come back early!”
Song Qingpei watched them, a warmth rising in her heart.
She gently patted Song Song’s shoulder and said softly, “Alright, let’s go eat. Grandma Su has already prepared dinner.”
Song Song immediately jumped up excitedly, grabbing Song Qingpei and Ming Yu’s hands as she skipped toward the dining room.
At the table, Song Song chattered nonstop while eating, recounting all the fun things that had happened at home that day. Song Qingpei and Ming Yu occasionally responded, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
After dinner, Song Song tugged at Song Qingpei and Ming Yu’s hands, pleading, “Mom, Mommy, let’s play together!”
Song Qingpei glanced at the time. Though it was already late, seeing the anticipation in Song Song’s eyes, she nodded. “Alright, let’s play together.”
Song Song cheered immediately, pulling them to the sofa and bringing out a pile of toys, enthusiastically arranging them. One moment, she asked Song Qingpei to help her build blocks; the next, she begged Ming Yu to tell her a story, keeping herself thoroughly entertained.
Ming Yu sat on the sofa, a smile on her face, but her cheeks were slightly flushed, and her breathing was a bit labored. Her fingers unconsciously traced the edge of the sofa, as if she were struggling to endure something.
Song Qingpei noticed her unusual state and turned to look at her, asking softly, “Are you okay?”
Ming Yu forced a smile and nodded. “I’m fine.”
Song Song, oblivious to the tension, continued playing with her toys excitedly.
Suddenly, she looked up, blinking her big eyes as she gazed expectantly at Song Qingpei and Ming Yu. “Mom, Mommy, can I sleep with you tonight?”
