The Cool and Aloof Immortal Master Has Fallen to the Demonic Path (Transmigration) - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
The horizon brightened with the first light, a white streak cutting through the curtain of night.
Yi Hu clutched her heart, waking up once again from the darkness. She had a new body, a new day’s rebirth.
She sat on the ground, and what met her eyes was still the same dim cave. A sudden surge of annoyance welled up in her heart. She had finally managed to beg Shen Yin to save her yesterday, only to be forced to die by the arrival of Feng Lingyan and Lu Sheng. Now, she didn’t know where to find Shen Yin.
With her current strength, she couldn’t move far from this cave. In her eyes, this cave was not the Ancient Spirit Clan’s Sacred Land but a cage confining her. She didn’t know the root cause and couldn’t resolve it. Relying on others upon her arrival was not a sign of cowardice.
Yi Hu turned her head to look deeper into the cave. The darkness made her heart skip a beat. Did she really have to go inside and fight for her life?
Yi Hu suddenly felt a pang in her heart, and her vision became blurred. There was no human sound around, not even the faint chirping of insects or birds. She felt as if she was in a wasteland, with only darkness accompanying her. She hadn’t gone through any cultivation in this world of the book, only filled with confusion and apprehension.
“Hu’er…” The long call became a beacon lighting the fire in her heart. Yi Hu poked half her head out of the cave. Sure enough, she saw that cool, ethereal back figure. She stood at the entrance of the cave, facing away from it, her eyes fixed on the rising sun. Her lips gently moved, calling her name.
After a whole night, Shen Yin was still here?
She was waiting for her!
This thought warmed Yi Hu’s heart. She stumbled out: “Immortal Master!”
What kind of person was the early-stage Shen Yin in the book? She carefully recalled and only came up with one phrase: kind-hearted and trustworthy.
Shen Yin heard the voice and turned around, her brows slightly furrowed. She flicked her sleeve, sending out two golden lights to support Yi Hu’s somewhat staggering steps. Only when Yi Hu was completely out of the Sacred Land’s array did the golden light dissipate. Yi Hu also tumbled onto the ground. Shen Yin took a step forward and landed in front of Yi Hu. Yi Hu, seeming grief-stricken and tearful, hugged Shen Yin’s calf: “Immortal Master, save me!”
Shen Yin was puzzled. Were even the mayfly’s words repetitive? Since she had stayed to wait for her, she had naturally decided to keep her promise. Why did she need to beg so persistently, or was it that her knees were naturally weak? Shen Yin’s brows furrowed tighter and tighter. She took a step back, and Yi Hu still held onto her calf, not letting go, so she was carried along with the step back, like a jade ornament hanging from her leg.
Shen Yin waved a golden light to help Yi Hu up, her face serious: “Didn’t I already promise you yesterday?”
Yi Hu could feel Shen Yin’s disdain for her, but it didn’t matter. She couldn’t possibly expect an immortal cultivator to like a demon, especially one who inexplicably trespassed into her territory.
“Thank you, Immortal Master.” Her knees were weak, and she wanted to kneel down and kowtow to Shen Yin again.
Shen Yin did not hesitate this time. A golden light wrapped around her body, and her brows were tightly furrowed: “Kneel to Heaven and Earth above, and to your parents below. It is inappropriate for you to keep kneeling to me.”
“You are an Immortal Master, a compassionate Bodhisattva who saves those in distress. It is only right for me to kneel to you.” Let alone kneeling, she was willing to enshrine and worship Shen Yin. She had been in this world for over a month, locked in that cave all day, fearing the white-robed man, and experiencing life and death every day. Shen Yin was no different from her reborn parents. She was an orphan in her previous life, and she was wholeheartedly willing to honor Shen Yin as her mother in this life.
Shen Yin remained silent. She extended her right hand and placed it on Yi Hu’s forehead. Golden light shone brightly from her palm, transforming into sparkling dots that drilled into Yi Hu’s body.
“Eh?” Shen Yin’s voice held a slight surprise. The True Qi she had transferred to Yi Hu yesterday had actually vanished.
It was indeed ‘born in the morning and dies in the evening.’ Once she died, what was given yesterday ceased to exist. This could also explain why she was a demon yet had no demonic power in her body. But since she died, she should start from scratch, so how did she transform into a human form?
Shen Yin was confused, and her gaze turned toward the cave again. Could the Ancient Spirit Clan’s Sacred Land hold Yi Hu’s immortal opportunity, allowing her to transform into human form every day?
“You wake up inside every day?”
Yi Hu dared not hide anything, only speaking the truth: “Yes, Immortal Master.”
Shen Yin’s slender and weak body shimmered with golden light. The golden light almost scorched Yi Hu, who was close to her. Yi Hu retreated, but Shen Yin rebuked her: “Don’t move if you want to live.”
Yi Hu dared not move again. She stood stiffly in front of Shen Yin, watching Shen Yin getting closer and closer. Her body also grew warmer and warmer. Her skin felt as if a layer was being peeled off. She was lifted by a force and then slowly lowered, repeating this cycle. Yi Hu was so scared that she tightly closed her eyes, only smelling the faint, cool fragrance that belonged to Shen Yin.
As expected of an immortal cultivator, far removed from the mundane world. Even her body carried a subtle, delicate fragrance.
Yi Hu’s thoughts drifted, and the pain in her body also lessened. She was startled to realize that diverting her attention could alleviate the pain, so she quickly thought of some completely irrelevant matters. Based on the timeline, the Immortal Spirit Sect had already suffered a severe blow. Feng Lingyan was already the Chief Elder of the Immortal Spirit Sect, and their Senior Uncle’s generation, including Shen Yin’s, was almost completely wiped out. Feng Lingyan hadn’t gone to find the female lead yet. The female lead should still be in the Sea of Blood.
If she told Shen Yin this news, given Shen Yin’s concern for the female lead, she would definitely travel to the Sea of Blood. But the Sea of Blood was a place where one could only enter but not exit. The reason Feng Lingyan was able to rescue the female lead was because her Holy Spirit Flower bloodline had a certain degree of calming effect on the malevolence of the Sea of Blood, and she also had the Sect’s semi-divine artifact, the Flowing Years Lamp, to protect her. Even with her bloodline and the semi-divine artifact, Feng Lingyan was severely injured and couldn’t move freely, requiring a long period of recuperation after returning to the Immortal Spirit Sect. This suggests that the female lead’s official partner’s bloodline was more powerful. That ancient Buddha Lotus might even be able to purify the entire Sea of Blood.
She hadn’t finished the book. The author already had the idea of having the Buddha Lotus purify the Sea of Blood halfway through the story. But if that Buddha Lotus was so powerful, why couldn’t it convert the demonized Shen Yin?
Shen Yin’s combat power in the later stages exceeded the settings. I regret not studying the book more when it’s needed. If she had known she would transmigrate here, she would have stayed up late to read it a few more times.
“It’s done.” Before she could figure it out, Shen Yin had stopped: “I have planted a trace of my spiritual essence in your body. The next time you are near death, I will be able to sense it.”
The golden light on her body gradually faded. Yi Hu landed steadily on the ground. There were faint blue powders, which Shen Yin had stripped from her, scattered in the dust. Yi Hu shivered. This felt like having a layer of skin peeled off.
Although she felt a slight chill and tremor, hearing Shen Yin’s words filled Yi Hu with gratitude. She wished she could treat Shen Yin as a true Immortal and offer incense and worship her day and night from now on.
“Thank you, Immortal…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Shen Yin interrupted her: “Your identity is special. Although my Immortal Spirit Sect has demons, their origins are clear. You should revert to your original form and hide in my sleeve. I will find an opportunity to find an excuse for you to enter the Immortal Spirit Sect later.”
Yi Hu recalled what was written in the book. Those demons in the Immortal Spirit Sect couldn’t really be called demons. Most of them were mounts. For example, when the female lead became Shen Yin’s disciple later, Shen Yin gave her a white crane. Yi Hu glanced at her own weak and slender body. Shen Yin wouldn’t be thinking of using her as a mount, would she?
Riding her wouldn’t be as elegant as riding a crane.
Shen Yin stopped her wild thoughts. She waved a golden light, intending to transform Yi Hu into a mayfly. Yi Hu quickly shouted to stop: “Immortal Master, I can’t leave this place.”
“En?”
Shen Yin didn’t quite understand. Yi Hu didn’t know how to explain, so she gritted her teeth, turned around, and rushed out. Only when she could no longer move an inch did she turn back. Her face was already pale, and her originally crimson, tender lips had lost their color. She slightly opened her mouth, and a mouthful of fresh blood sprayed out. The blood threads did not fall immediately but gathered in the air before slowly falling. When they touched the ground, they emitted a deep red light and shadow. Although it was brief and difficult to see with the naked eye, Shen Yin once again noticed the difference.
Shen Yin moved her lotus steps slightly, grabbing the fabric around Yi Hu’s waist and pulling her away, landing her just outside the array. A faint golden light drilled into Yi Hu’s body again. This time, there was no pain, only warmth.
Shen Yin looked at Yi Hu strangely: “You are not afraid of death?”
“I will come back to life tomorrow after this kind of death. I have tried it many times.”
Shen Yin’s mouth twitched slightly: “If you die again, I will not implant spiritual essence in you a second time.”
Yi Hu immediately admitted defeat: “Immortal Master, save me.”
Shen Yin pinched a hand seal, and a faint golden light gathered at her fingertips. She directed the golden light to the spot where Yi Hu’s blood had fallen. The scarlet blood water surfaced and gathered in the air. Shen Yin pinched another hand seal and struck out another golden light. The blood water was no longer bright red but slowly turned black. Black and red light bloomed before her eyes. The black blood suddenly fell from mid-air but did not land, instead splashing open and transforming into distinct blood droplets. Shen Yin waved her hands. A jade pendant suddenly appeared in her right hand, and her left hand drew the blood droplets, slowly letting them seep into the jade pendant. The originally transparent and crystalline jade color was replaced by a dark red.
Yi Hu cautiously swallowed: “Immortal Master, what are you doing?”
“Wear this well.” Shen Yin tossed the jade pendant to her. The jade pendant seemed to have grown hands and feet, landing on her neck by itself and hanging securely.
A jade pendant containing her own gathered blood felt inexplicably bizarre.
Yi Hu could hear the faint wailing of resentful spirits in her ears, along with the sound of sharp claws scraping against stone walls. She covered her ears and squatted down. Shen Yin’s eyes slightly narrowed: “Hu’er.”
That cool, distant voice sounded in her ear, resembling a Sanskrit Buddhist chant wrapping around her. The noise in her ears suddenly cleared up.
Yi Hu released her hands from her ears. She squatted on the ground, looking up at Shen Yin. Although Shen Yin appeared cool and detached, she was indeed a kind-hearted and trustworthy person. After agreeing to save her, she spared no effort and extended her helping hand.
Although she was still a little afraid of the jade pendant, she obediently wore it well and tried to force a smile at Shen Yin: “Thank you, Immortal Master.”
Shen Yin stared at that smile in silence for a long time, then slowly turned around: “Let’s go.”
When Yi Hu stood up again, she felt her steps were lighter. She rushed forward, and there was no longer any obstruction or inability to move an inch. Excited, she rushed toward Shen Yin again, who did not use any force to dodge or block her with a golden light. Since she had hugged Shen Yin, there was no reason to let go: “Thank you, Immortal Master.”
Yi Hu took an inch, and Shen Yin neither dodged nor avoided.
Shen Yin was suspicious. Her gaze toward Yi Hu became heavier: She is a demon, so why does she fear the light?
