The Cool and Aloof Immortal Master Has Fallen to the Demonic Path (Transmigration) - Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Yi Hu was flying very low, and she increasingly didn’t understand why Shen Yin and the others loved to fly so high.
However, she finally understood why Shen Yin and the others loved to fly.
It was really fast.
She was becoming more skilled at controlling her wings, and it was becoming easier to handle.
She kept flying forward, but when she reached a place full of candlelight, she stopped.
Dying, butterfly.
Yi Hu’s vision plunged into a sea of crimson. Her throat felt as if it were being choked by a pair of hands; she couldn’t utter a sound. She was stunned and overwhelmed by fear at the sight before her.
This was different from facing the Spider Demon. At this moment, even her heart felt condemned to death.
The scene was excessively bloody, far surpassing what she saw with the stone lions outside the gate.
Before her was an immense cage. Inside was a massive pool of blood, in which many spiritual flowers and exotic grasses were soaking, looking incredibly nourishing, but immersed in blood, they only appeared horrifying and sinister.
In the very center was a woman. Her body was submerged in the pool of blood, while her hair was tied high and suspended from the main beam.
She had two wings on her back. Unlike Yi Hu’s wings, hers were not translucent but variegated, with beautiful patterns. Her wings were also much larger, divided into two main sections, which were further divided into upper and lower parts, with the upper part being wider than the lower.
In Yi Hu’s limited animal cognition, she easily identified the owner of such beautiful wings—a butterfly.
The woman immersed in the blood was a Butterfly Demon.
Her wings were also stained with blood, partially floating outside the surface, allowing Yi Hu to identify them. Her slender, pale arms were slightly raised, and sticky fresh blood flowed along her lifted arms. The scene was bloody and bizarre.
Her eyes were also variegated, and as they glistened, they looked a bit confused, yet full of vitality.
Her face was also full of youthful vigor. Everything about her should have been vibrant and full of life, but her complexion was ashen. Her entire skin seemed to have lost all color, a bloodless white, likely due to prolonged confinement and lack of sunlight.
The Butterfly Demon did not sense her arrival.
The sound of footsteps behind her gradually became clearer, but the path ahead was a dead end. Yi Hu could not fly any further forward. She looked around and flew to hide among the Butterfly Demon’s black hair. Her body was tiny, and she slipped in without a trace.
The Butterfly Demon, perhaps sensing something, slightly raised her eyes.
Yi Hu prayed in her heart that she wouldn’t be as ferocious as the Spider Demon.
Please help me, seeing as we are both of the same kind. The Butterfly Demon seemed to have sensed her plea, slowly lowered her eyes, and said nothing.
Yi Hu finally saw the owner of the footsteps.
It was a Daoist in a gray robe. He looked tall and thin, with a hooked nose. His two narrow eyes emitted a faint light. He had black hair, but his face was unusually old, and his back was hunched. He looked like an old man.
Yet, except for the skin on his face, the skin on the rest of his body was delicate and smooth.
There was nothing particularly terrifying about his appearance, but Yi Hu felt a chill down her spine just by looking at him. The last person who made her feel this way was Yun Dongyue, the Elder of the Demon Sect.
She felt terrified, but the Butterfly Demon showed no reaction.
The Butterfly Demon looked at the Daoist calmly, without any ripple of emotion in her gaze.
They must know each other. Perhaps this very Daoist confined the Butterfly Demon here.
Yi Hu boldly made a guess.
And her guess was validated in the next moment.
The Daoist seemed to be injured. Half of his gray robe was stained with blood, and there was a scar on his neck left by a sharp blade, with uncoagulated blood still on it.
But he was not weak.
He walked closer and closer, a sinister smile on his face: “Soon I won’t need you. Soon your flesh and blood will be dug out and consumed by me.”
“With the Holy Spirit Flower, I have no use for your broken Vessel Body.”
These words were directed at the Butterfly Demon.
Yi Hu pieced together a few facts from his words.
It seemed that the Daoist before them was the person who set up the array. His injury was likely inflicted by Feng Lingyuan. Why was Feng Lingyuan’s secret discovered so early? If he wasn’t killed, the temptation of Feng Lingyuan’s flesh and blood would cause enormous trouble for the Immortal Spirit Sect.
However, this Butterfly Demon was also a Vessel Body.
She was indeed imprisoned by the Daoist, and the blood in the pool might be this Butterfly Demon’s blood.
Yi Hu suddenly felt a frightful tremor, and the smell of blood became even more pungent and repulsive.
The Butterfly Demon remained calm, even carrying a hint of coldness: “But you are injured. You are not her match.”
The Daoist was struck where it hurt, and his face turned cold and sinister. His aged face was pitted and uneven, like dry farmland. His wrinkles became more pronounced, and a hint of viciousness emerged in his eyes: “So what? I used your essence blood to form the array, and guided the spiritual energy to pull the entire Urn City into the array. Once they all fall for my Affectionate Inducement Array, no one will recognize anyone, and they can only fight each other like dogs. No matter how powerful that Holy Spirit Flower is, how many people can she withstand being besieged by? Once she’s sufficiently weakened, that will be the moment I take her away.”
“The truly infuriating thing is that she does have some skill. She set up a barrier outside my array. Every inch my array shifts outward, her barrier shifts outward by an inch. It will still take me some effort to break her barrier. She thought injuring me would stop me, but how could she know that I have you?”
After the Daoist finished speaking, he actually knelt beside the pool of blood.
He leaned slightly, bringing his lips and tongue close to the bloody water.
He was actually drinking the blood!
Yi Hu’s throat became sickly sweet, and the foul odor grew even stronger. Her stomach was churning.
She wanted to flee this place, not to watch, but her wings wouldn’t flap. The white string on her front foot emitted a faint light.
Does this mean the jade token is warning her not to act rashly?
But it was only a spiritual artifact. It shouldn’t possess consciousness. Where did it get the human-like ability?
Yi Hu naturally knew she couldn’t act rashly right now. The Daoist before her was obviously not a good person, and given her physical condition, if she was discovered, she would likely be dead without a doubt.
But right now…
Yi Hu suppressed her nausea, watching the Daoist drink the blood.
Soon, the blood was completely consumed.
He licked his lips, still looking somewhat unsatisfied.
It was also because the Daoist drank all the blood that Yi Hu could see the Butterfly Demon’s situation clearly.
She was only covered by an extremely thin veil. Her body was almost entirely covered in various knife cuts and scars.
This was likely caused by years of blood extraction.
Her shoulders and feet were pierced by iron nails, locking her into the blood pool.
While Yi Hu was observing the Butterfly Demon, the Daoist formed hand seals and struck out two beams of light blades. The blades hit the Butterfly Demon, cutting two chunks of raw flesh from her arm. The Butterfly Demon let out a painful shriek.
The bloody, raw flesh fell into the Daoist’s palm, and he immediately lifted the flesh to his mouth and consumed it.
Is he truly human?
The Daoist’s act of consuming raw flesh and blood fell into Yi Hu’s eyes. Her heart felt as if it had dropped into an ice cellar; even her exhaled breath was cold.
After the Daoist drank the blood and ate the flesh, the wounds on his body surprisingly began to heal, quickly disappearing without a trace. Only a little residual blood informed Yi Hu that he had indeed been injured just moments ago.
He was more energetic, and even his face slowly began to look younger, no longer having wrinkled skin.
If one looked closely, he was a handsome young man in a white robe, but unlike his clean appearance, evil was hidden deep in his bones.
He clasped his hands behind his back, pretending to be profound: “Nonsense. I am an Immortal. I seek immortality with all my heart, walking the righteous path step by step. How am I not an Immortal?”
The sarcasm on the Butterfly Demon’s lips deepened: “Drinking human blood and bones, you are already a demon.”
“You are not human; you are a demon, an evil demon!” The Daoist looked down at the powerless Butterfly Demon, his tone indifferent and detached: “Everything I do is to suppress demons and eliminate evil.”
After speaking, he turned and left without any lingering attachment.
He was likely going back to capture Feng Lingyuan.
Only she and the Butterfly Demon remained here. The Daoist’s words still echoed in her ears. Yi Hu felt he was talking nonsense. What kind of immortal harms living beings?
An immortal should be like Shen Yin, upholding the righteous path, saving people and the world—and the world includes all living beings, not just humans.
That Daoist was a sanctimonious hypocrite, clearly a beast, yet pretending to be a saint.
He wasn’t even as direct as Zi Ying, who clearly wore her evil on her face.
She thought of Zi Ying. Zi Ying actually appeared before her eyes.
The ethereal, frenzied woman was none other than Zi Ying.
“You!” Seeing Zi Ying at this moment was not a good thing. Shen Yin was not by her side. If Zi Ying decided to eat her flesh and blood again, she would be completely defenseless. Yi Hu was no different from the dying butterfly below. She was weak in the face of powerful beings.
Yi Hu nervously swallowed: “Don’t do anything rash.”
Before her voice could fully fade, her body suddenly felt heavy and she fell straight down.
With a “Plop!” sound, she fell into the blood pool.
Before she could climb out, she felt an endless stream of spiritual energy drilling into her body. Her body uncontrollably began absorbing the medicine in the pool. The jade token in her hand glowed with golden light, becoming hot in her grasp.
It seemed that the Daoist used good things on the Butterfly Demon, rare spiritual flowers and exotic grasses.
Of course, this wasn’t out of kindness. He used these to nourish the Butterfly Demon, to make it easier to extract blood and consume flesh next time.
“Puh.” She finally managed to crawl out, spitting out a mouthful of blood water. The stench made Yi Hu nauseous.
She looked for Zi Ying and found Zi Ying sitting on the edge of the blood pool, looking at her and the Butterfly Demon with a look of sarcasm: “They say Vessel Bodies are rare. I’m really lucky to have encountered three.”
“What a pity, I can see it but can’t eat it.” The greed in her eyes gradually turned into hatred: “It’s all because of that old thief, Shen Yin.”
Yi Hu then noticed that Zi Ying was surrounded by a layer of Golden Phoenix Karma Fire. It wasn’t touching her spiritual consciousness, but it completely encircled her body. The closer she got to the blood pool, the closer the Karma Fire would get to her spiritual consciousness.
Seeing her crawl out, Zi Ying became even more annoyed: “Little thing, you judge for me. That old thief Shen Yin told me to protect you. Not only do I get no benefit, but she also threatens me with the Karma Fire. Isn’t that utterly awful?”
Shen Yin had put her into the jade token and given it to Yi Hu, but fearing that Yi Hu might be eaten by her, she used the Karma Fire to restrain her. If her spiritual consciousness touched the token, it would be incinerated by the Karma Fire.
Zi Ying also wanted to act fearless and swallow both of them whole first, but Shen Yin had never valued her, this half-divine weapon. The Golden Phoenix Karma Fire had a natural restraint on her. She was afraid of being completely incinerated before she finished eating.
Yi Hu heard her words, but had no time to offer judgment.
She held the jade token, her heart filled with warmth: “The Immortal Master is so good to me.”
Zi Ying disdained her devotion to Shen Yin, deliberately pouring cold water on her: “If she does this, she has to be distracted to control the Karma Fire. She was originally able to fight Feng Lingyuan to a draw, but now it’s anyone’s guess.”
That’s right, that’s right.
Yi Hu became anxious now. Feng Lingyuan still had a half-divine weapon with her, while Shen Yin’s half-divine weapon was given to her.
“Let’s go back and help the Immortal Master!” She scrambled out of the blood pool, calling for Zi Ying to return.
“I have a constraint on me. Although the token recognizes me as its owner, she can sense where I am, but I can’t sense where she is. Now this array is getting bigger and bigger, and the space inside the array is different from the outside. Where are you going to find her?”
“Just wait. Wait for her to finish and come find us.”
“What if she can’t defeat Elder Feng?”
“If she can’t defeat Feng Lingyuan, can’t she break the array? How long can one Affectionate Inducement Array keep Feng Lingyuan lost?”
Zi Ying’s words made perfect sense. She was easier to get along with when she wasn’t thinking about eating her.
Zi Ying stared at the Butterfly Demon, her eyes rolling: “Your injury has been there for years. You must have been confined for a long time. Don’t you want to live?”
She looked at the Butterfly Demon as if she were looking at food. The Butterfly Demon could feel the terrifying pressure surrounding her.
She showed a degree of composure: “Even as prey, there is a reason one must live.”
“Those words sound familiar.” Zi Ying sighed, no longer looking at the Butterfly Demon or Yi Hu. She leaned against the edge of the blood pool and closed her eyes to rest.
The Butterfly Demon’s gaze fell on Yi Hu: “Miss, are you also a Vessel Body?”
Yi Hu subconsciously nodded when asked, showing a slight compassion as a fellow creature.
But confusion followed:
“What exactly is a Vessel Body?”
