The Cannon Fodder Went Out Of Character Again Today - Chapter 3
At one-thirty in the morning, the school dorms had long since locked their doors.
Xu Qiduo had already mapped out his escape route the moment Wang Shuo sent him that message. He had booked a deluxe king-sized room at an e-sports hotel near the campus in advance, complete with two gaming computers!
He could use one computer for gaming and the other for watching movies! Ah, utter bliss!
After taking a comfortable warm shower, his well-defined palms wiped away the moisture on the mirror, revealing the young man’s reflection.
Single eyelids and a high bridge of nose matched his appearance in the real world. He had often been praised as handsome in the past, so he knew in his mind that he had a bit of charm.
Although his looks couldn’t compete with the novel’s protagonists, this body actually possessed something he never had before!
The damp fringe on his forehead was still dripping water, and a single droplet slid down his cheek, landing on Xu Qiduo’s collarbone before playfully continuing its downward slide.
Xu Qiduo stroked his abdominal muscles; they were neat, beautifully sculpted six-pack abs! Wasn’t this a macho man through and through?
The young man in the mirror patted his own abs while laughing wildly. Once he had laughed enough, he picked up a hairdryer and blew his hair into an upright cockscomb style.
“Whew! You look so spirited, Xu Qiduo! Hahahaha!”
Xu Qiduo amused himself with his reflection’s quirky styling. After chuckling for a good while, he finally blew the cockscomb flat again.
When Xu Qiduo first transmigrated, he was genuinely startled by the original host’s styling.
Clearly a bright, sunny young fellow, he insisted on keeping long hair and dyeing it in non-mainstream colors, which had almost blinded him.
He had cut the long hair, and once the dyed color started fading into a yellowish tint, he stopped ruining his hair with other dyes. Right now, he was sporting a head of hair that was neither quite blue nor quite green, about as ugly and unsightly as it could possibly get.
Aside from seeing Wang Shuo, he usually wore a hat out to classes; otherwise, it was completely unpresentable, as the style was simply far too non-mainstream.
Both e-sports computers booted up simultaneously. Xu Qiduo had drunk two bottles of beer tonight and was currently wide awake, so he decided to lead his summoners across the rift and game all night long!
He seemed to have forgotten once again how he had died in the first place.
Yet at seven o’clock the next morning, he was jolted awake by his phone ringing.
Groggily answering the call, he heard an excited female voice blast through the receiver: “Xu Qiduo! Get your ass back here right now for some jaw-dropping gossip!”
Pulling the phone slightly away from his ear and confirming the caller’s identity, Xu Qiduo grew much more alert: “What gossip?”
“Second Dad! Holy crap! He went and brought back the stepson of his deceased first-love girlfriend!”
“What?” A single sentence nearly fried his brain cells.
“He went out to pick people up early this morning, and Second Mom is furious enough to tear her hair out! Right now, she’s going face-to-face in a verbal showdown with Third Aunt!” The girl on the other end of the line grew more and more excited as she spoke.
“What! I’m coming back right now!”
Naturally, Xu Qiduo didn’t want to miss out on drama even more absurd than the plot he was currently trudging through.
The person calling him was his younger sister.
To be precise, his stepsister.
The Xu family was a prominent, influential tycoon family in N City; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to foot Wang Shuo’s bills without batting an eye.
With all the relatives and collateral branches of that household, they could easily set up dozens of tables during the New Year.
The Xu family had a household rule stating that direct descendants all had to live together under one roof. Consequently, the Xu estate was always bustling with activity. Lords, young masters, first mistresses, second mistresses, cousin misses, little cousin masters, the old mansion was packed with people.
Where there were many people, there was naturally plenty of gossip.
Xu Qiduo had visited the Xu family estate once last week, and oh boy! That household was just like watching Empresses in the Palace; it was brilliantly entertaining.
