Chapter 11: Halo

After repelling another Dark Disciple, Luo Qi spun upwards, but another Dark Disciple quickly entangled her again.
Luo Qi seized the momentary opening, countered with a palm strike, and the hit black-clad figure fell to the ground.
Luo Qi was about to leave with Bai Yao when another arrow came flying from afar.
The arrow with a snow-feathered, golden head halted right in front of Bai Yao, intercepted by Luo Qi.
Bai Yao looked up in the direction the arrow came from and saw a figure standing in the woods in the distance.
The person was clad in a deep purple robe, holding a large, ostentatious black-and-gold bow.
Bai Yao quickly identified the person: the Second Prince, Qin Dexuan.
While Luo Qi was catching the arrow, the two Dark Disciples below flew up again to engage her.
Luo Qi frowned slightly, preparing to defend herself again, but saw a cloud of powder suddenly scatter below, heading straight for the faces of the two Dark Disciples.
Concerned that it might be some potent poison, the two Dark Disciples quickly stopped their movements and raised their hands to shield themselves.
Seizing this instant of opportunity, Luo Qi stepped onto the mountain wall and broke free with Bai Yao.

Having returned to the mountaintop, Luo Qi gently set Bai Yao down. She flew to the cliff edge to check, finding that the black-clad figures had not pursued them.
When Luo Qi turned back to look at Bai Yao, she found Bai Yao staring down at the emptied medicine packet in her palm, her face pale.
Assuming Bai Yao was scared by the fighting, Luo Qi walked to her side and began to comfort her: “Yao Yao, don’t be afraid, they…”
“I get it!” Bai Yao grabbed Luo Qi’s hand: “So that’s it! I’m the one who messed up the plot!”
