Secretary Zhao asked: [Should anything else be placed inside the necklace?]
The message popped up just as Jiang Mengyu sat beside her, also looking down at her phone.
Chi Jingyan’s heart skipped a beat. She glanced sideways at Jiang Mengyu, relieved when the other woman never once looked her way. Only then did she relax slightly.
She probably didn’t see what Secretary Zhao said, right?
After hastily replying with a “No need,” Chi Jingyan quickly put her phone down.
There was a person’s width of distance between them. The air conditioning was on in the room, so it wasn’t cold, but Chi Jingyan still felt a chill run down her spine.
She slowly inched closer to Jiang Mengyu, then moved a bit more, until her thigh was pressed against Jiang Mengyu’s, finally stopping with satisfaction.
Seeing that the person beside her wasn’t paying attention, Chi Jingyan then wrapped her arms around Jiang Mengyu’s waist, resting her head on Jiang Mengyu’s shoulder. Looking down, she immediately caught sight of Jiang Mengyu’s phone screen.
The smile on her lips froze abruptly.
Jiang Mengyu was chatting with Chen He’an.
Chen He’an asked: [Are you coming back to class tomorrow?]
Jiang Mengyu: [Not sure, probably.]
Chen He’an: [That’s great.]
Before Chi Jingyan could process it, she stared at Jiang Mengyu’s profile and gritted her teeth, asking, “What does she mean by ‘That’s great’?!”
Jiang Mengyu was going back to class, and Chen He’an was happy, even eager?!
Jiang Mengyu: “It means what it says.”
Chen He’an mentioned there were two problems she couldn’t solve and was waiting for Jiang Mengyu to return so they could discuss them.
Hearing this, the jealousy in Chi Jingyan’s heart still didn’t dissipate.
“Don’t discuss them with her,” she leaned in to kiss Jiang Mengyu’s cheek, her tone sour. “My grades are better than hers.”
If Chen He’an couldn’t solve the problems, she could. In the last monthly exam, Chen He’an ranked sixth in the grade, while she ranked second.
She was better than Chen He’an.
Jiang Mengyu didn’t respond to Chi Jingyan. She put her phone down and lay back, preparing to sleep.
But Chi Jingyan wasn’t ready to give up. Under the covers, her legs tangled with Jiang Mengyu’s, and her soft arms tightened around her. Her lips, warm and moist, left a trail of kisses along Jiang Mengyu’s jaw and neck.
Jiang Mengyu reached up and pinched Chi Jingyan’s chin, applying a bit of pressure. The soft flesh of Chi Jingyan’s cheeks bulged slightly under her fingers, porcelain-white skin tinged with a delicate pink, flawless without a single visible pore.
“Your waist doesn’t hurt anymore?” Jiang Mengyu asked.
Chi Jingyan let her face rest in Jiang Mengyu’s palm, struggling to speak in that position. “It does…”
“So, help me massage it, okay?”
The hand eventually moved to Chi Jingyan’s waist, kneading the sore muscles at a leisurely pace.
Chi Jingyan lay on top of Jiang Mengyu, her slightly parted lips brushing against Jiang Mengyu’s ear. Half-lidded, she panted softly, her warm breath fanning over Jiang Mengyu’s ear.
“Mmm… be gentle…”
Jiang Mengyu’s eyebrow twitched. “Shut up.”
“Why?” Chi Jingyan asked knowingly.
The hand resting on Jiang Mengyu’s shoulder slid under her collar. Burying her face in Jiang Mengyu’s neck, Chi Jingyan inhaled the scent of jasmine, unable to stop herself from releasing her own pheromones.
Their body temperatures rose higher and higher.
Chi Jingyan lifted her head to seek Jiang Mengyu’s lips, her eyes growing increasingly hazy.
“Don’t reject me, okay?” she murmured.
It seemed Chi Jingyan had finally learned to negotiate with Jiang Mengyu yet she clearly left no room for refusal. Her burning body clung tightly to Jiang Mengyu, igniting wave after wave of scorching heat.
Jiang Mengyu’s hand still rested on Chi Jingyan’s waist. She tilted her head away, evading Chi Jingyan’s kiss. “Didn’t you say your back was hurting?”
Chi Jingyan instinctively wanted to grip her neck, to prevent her from escaping, but at the last moment, she barely managed to regain her composure. Biting her lip, she explained, “It already hurts so much anyway…”
A little more pain wouldn’t matter.
She wanted Jiang Mengyu to forget everyone else completely, to have only her in sight and in heart.
Her eyes were so red, the moisture in them nearly overflowing.
Jiang Mengyu remained silent for a long moment before finally raising her hand.
Chi Jingyan didn’t know what she intended to do, but instinctive resistance made her seize Jiang Mengyu’s wrist first. Staring into Jiang Mengyu’s eyes, she enunciated each word deliberately, “I want to watch you.”
She wanted to witness firsthand how Jiang Mengyu would lose control because of her.
…
Chi Jingyan’s waist really did hurt even more now.
There wasn’t a single untouched spot on her body. The marks from before hadn’t even faded, and new ones had already been added deep and shallow red traces covering every inch of her, especially her legs.
But Jiang Mengyu wasn’t faring much better.
She dressed with her back to Chi Jingyan, her skin marred with scratches and bite marks. Chi Jingyan gazed at the imprints she had left, the corners of her lips curling up involuntarily.
Yet those marks were soon concealed beneath Jiang Mengyu’s shirt, save for a few vivid red love bites on her neck, glaringly prominent against her fair skin, a silent declaration of possession and desire.
Jiang Mengyu studied herself in the mirror for a while, her brows furrowing slightly.
“Get up,” she said to Chi Jingyan, who was still curled up in bed behind her.
“My back still hurts so much,” Chi Jingyan whined, her tone playful and spoiled. “Rub it for me again.”
She had said the same thing last night, and then things had spiraled out of control.
Jiang Mengyu lifted her eyelids to glance at her. “Are you going back on your word again?”
Chi Jingyan’s smile dimmed slightly. Jiang Mengyu always knew how to sting her.
“I’m not going back on anything.”
She had promised that once she recovered, she would let Jiang Mengyu return to school. But she hadn’t recovered yet, had she?
Still, Chi Jingyan sat up obediently.
She could tell Jiang Mengyu didn’t want to stay here any longer. After all, she had only kidnapped her in the first place because she was unsure of Jiang Mengyu’s feelings. Now, there was no need to force her to remain.
Chi Jingyan had Zhou Heng prepare the car. After the two freshened up and had breakfast, they got in and headed for the school.
When Jiang Mengyu had arrived, her eyes had been blindfolded. Only now did she see clearly, the villa was indeed nestled halfway up a mountain, a winding road snaking upward, flanked on one side by towering trees and on the other by a sheer cliff.
Chi Jingyan lounged in the backseat, toying with Jiang Mengyu’s fingers. Her gaze drifted from Jiang Mengyu’s profile to the love bites on her neck before settling contentedly on her hands.
At the height of passion last night, she had bitten Jiang Mengyu’s fingers, but now the teeth marks had already vanished.
Chi Jingyan really wanted to leave more marks on Jiang Mengyu, ones so obvious that anyone would know they were from her. But Jiang Mengyu didn’t like that.
Before leaving in the morning, she had even asked Zhou Heng to bring scent-blocking patches to cover the gland on Chi Jingyan’s nape, ensuring no one would catch a whiff of anything they shouldn’t.
Chi Jingyan felt somewhat displeased. Jiang Mengyu’s behavior made her feel as if they were sneaking around like secret lovers, what was there to hide?
But she didn’t dare voice her doubts.
The car drove through the gates of S High School, and only after it came to a complete stop did the two of them get out separately.
It was class time, so there weren’t many students walking around. Seeing Jiang Mengyu’s cold expression and the deliberate distance she kept, Chi Jingyan couldn’t help but reach out and grab Jiang Mengyu’s hand.
Jiang Mengyu tried to pull away. “Let go.”
“No.” Not only did Chi Jingyan refuse to let go, she even forcefully intertwined their fingers. “Are you that afraid of being seen?”
Jiang Mengyu remained expressionless. “Our relationship doesn’t seem close enough to hold hands in public yet.”
