The Canary and Little Cannon Fodder [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 15
After He Hua finished cooking and laid the dishes out on the dining table, Lin Nanyun finally emerged from the bedroom.
Bo Shuyi was sitting on the living room sofa reading the script. Some parts of the dialogue were mediocre, so she held a black sign pen, making notes and corrections as she read.
When Lin Nanyun opened the bedroom door, Bo Shuyi heard the sound and looked up. The moment their eyes met, Lin Nanyun immediately turned her head away with a flushed face, clearly having not yet forgotten her earlier abrupt behavior toward Bo Shuyi.
Bo Shuyi smiled, set down her pen, and stood up to walk to the dining table. “Sister He, the food smells wonderful. It looks delicious.”
She naturally took Lin Nanyun’s hand, and they sat down together. Lin Nanyun’s hand gave a small tremor, and her cheeks felt hot.
He Hua brought out the bowls and chopsticks from the kitchen and set them down, acting as though she did not notice the awkward yet ambiguous atmosphere between the two. Sitting across from them, she smiled and said, “I do not have many hobbies; I just like researching recipes. Luo told me that Nanyun likes pumpkin rice. Nanyun, have a taste and see how it is.”
With her fingertips still being pinched by Bo Shuyi, Lin Nanyun bit her lower lip. Her eyes were watery as she pulled her fingers away to pick up her chopsticks. She took a bite of the soft, sweet pumpkin rice. The snowy white grains of rice were coated in orange pumpkin mash; the mixture of rice and pumpkin aromas was fragrant, and the texture was excellent.
Upon tasting the delicious food, Lin Nanyun’s eyes lit up. She completely forgot her previous shyness, looking up at He Hua. “Sister He, this is super delicious!”
“I am glad you like it,” He Hua laughed. She turned to Bo Shuyi and said, “Shuyi, if there is anything you like to eat, you can tell me as well. I will buy the ingredients and cook for you tomorrow.”
Bo Shuyi looked at Lin Nanyun, her dark eyes rippling with shallow, soft waves. “Sister He can just cook what Nanyun likes. I like whatever she likes.”
Eating the delicious food helped Lin Nanyun keep her composure enough that she did not panic, even if she could only blush without being able to say anything in return. “When you talk to Sister He, just look at her!”
He Hua quickly added, “No need, no need! You do not have to look at me.”
Bo Shuyi rested her elbow on the table and propped her chin in her palm. “But I am afraid you will get jealous. I try not to look at other women if I can help it. Besides, that sentence just now was meant for your ears.”
Before knowing Bo Shuyi, Lin Nanyun did not realize she was so thin-skinned. If Bo Shuyi teased her any further, she would not be able to finish this meal.
Lin Nanyun quickly picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork and held it to Bo Shuyi’s red lips. “Shuyi, try this dish. It is sweet, sour, and very appetizing.”
Bo Shuyi’s thick eyelashes lowered as she glanced at the pork coated in sweet and sour sauce. She opened her lips and took it into her mouth.
Lin Nanyun’s hand shook, and she almost dropped her chopsticks.
After Bo Shuyi chewed and swallowed, she smiled at Lin Nanyun. “It is very good.”
Noticing the sauce stained on Bo Shuyi’s lip, Lin Nanyun could not help but reach out. Bo Shuyi did not move. Lin Nanyun successfully touched her lip, using her index finger to wipe away the sauce.
As Lin Nanyun went to withdraw her hand, Bo Shuyi gently grasped her wrist. “Wait,” she said.
Lin Nanyun looked confused, only to see Bo Shuyi lower her head and take her fingertip into her mouth.
“I am going to eat in the living room!” He Hua scooped a few bites of food into her bowl and hurried away with her utensils.
She thought she could calmly ignore the couple’s public display of affection, but it turned out she was too naive!
After dinner, Bo Shuyi and Lin Nanyun went for a walk to explore the surroundings and help their digestion.
Across the street from the four-star hotel was a snack street that featured specialties from nearly all over the country. Lin Nanyun looked left and right, her eyes shining.
“They actually have spicy hot pot, rice noodles, flat noodles, and river snail rice noodles! Do you like them? How about I buy some tomorrow and bring them to the set for you?” Lin Nanyun asked while holding Bo Shuyi’s hand, her eyes full of expectant little stars.
Bo Shuyi adjusted Lin Nanyun’s baseball cap and said with a smile, “Sure. I love whatever you buy.”
Lin Nanyun hopped excitedly. “I have not eaten these foods in such a long time. I will buy some tomorrow so we can eat together. By the way, do you eat spicy food?”
Bo Shuyi said, “I can handle a little bit.”
Lin Nanyun said, “Same as me! Then I will buy the mildly spicy version for you; it is only a tiny bit spicy.”
“Alright.”
They chatted as they walked. One was tall and the other slender; walking side by side with an extraordinary aura, they drew the attention of passersby even with baseball caps covering half their faces.
“Hey, hey, isn’t that Bo Shuyi?”
“It looks like her. Did Starlight for You not start filming today? She must be here for that. Her figure is so good! The lines of her jaw are so soft and exquisite; you do not even need to see her whole face to know she is a great beauty.”
“Then the one next to her, holding her arm, is the Little Princess of Xingshan Media? I did not expect her to be quite good-looking too.”
“Beautiful people should be with beautiful people. Otherwise, if she were with some old man or an ugly person, the haters would start claiming she found a benefactor again.”
Someone quietly took a photo of their backs and posted it on Weibo, which instantly attracted a group of Yun-Yi CP fans.
Yun-Yi was the abbreviation for Lin Nanyun and Bo Shuyi. These fans held the CP banner high and shouted their support daily, forming a significant presence. On Weibo, they were unstoppable; anyone who tried to stop them from shipping the couple became their greatest enemy.
There was once a hater who missed the announcement of the relationship due to work. When she finally posted a negative comment about Bo Shuyi, she was bombarded with so many private messages and comments from the fans that her phone crashed.
The Yun-Yi CP fans were powerful, organized, and disciplined. They had a dedicated anti-smear team. Once they found a hater’s post, everyone would comment and message until the hater deleted the post and apologized. Within a week, several haters had already given up, deleting their posts and vowing never to attack Bo Shuyi again.
@NoonStudioPuppy: #Yun-Yi Even their backs are beautiful. Come and look!
@Equation: Wow! The first photo of my Yun-Yi together! //@NoonStudioPuppy: #Yun-Yi Even their backs are beautiful. Come and look!
@GreenApple: Poster! Where are their faces? Why are there no photos of their faces?
@HeartsInTheClouds: AHHHHHH! Long live Yun-Yi! @BoShuyi @LinNanyun, I am begging you both! Please post a photo where we can see your faces! The CP fans are starving!
Bo Shuyi did not let Lin Nanyun accompany her for the night shoot. She was worried that Lin Nanyun would not be able to see clearly and might get bumped or bruised by the equipment.
Lin Nanyun naturally did not agree. “I slept longer than you did this afternoon. I will not be able to sleep at the hotel anyway.”
Bo Shuyi did not argue. Instead, she silenced her with a kiss, only letting go after Lin Nanyun was dazed enough to nod in agreement.
The first scene was a monologue by Bo Shuyi, which was also the most difficult scene in the entire drama. Since Bo Shuyi was the lead, some staff members who did not know the truth were prepared to film dozens of takes and stay up until dawn.
