Chapter 13: Do You Have a Hobby of Peeking at Others?
He was so shaken that he forgot exactly where he was.
Suddenly, a low, groggy male voice drifted from the room. “Xie Mo?”
Hearing Tang Yingrui call his name, Xie Mo’s mind went blank; he nearly lost the ability to think. The pheromones leaking out from his panic and fear served as a perfect catalyst in Ji Hanyue’s eyes.
“Scared?”
Ji Hanyue ruffled Xie Mo’s fluffy hair and flicked his eyes open, finding Xie Mo’s small face deathly pale. Only his eyes were flushed red, wanting to cry but desperately holding back.
He was pushing the boy too hard.
That Alpha inside seemed determined to make the mute answer him, his voice rising in volume. “Xie Mo? Xie Mo!”
Tang Yingrui was used to having someone beside him. This time, failing to feel a physical presence, his clouded brain suddenly snapped awake. After calling out several times with no response, he climbed out of bed suspiciously.
Is he in the bathroom? he wondered. Otherwise, where could he go in the middle of the night?
However, after only a few steps, Tang Yingrui paused as something suddenly occurred to him. On his phone screen, a message sent by Kou Xingyu hours ago still glowed with an unread red dot.
Tang Yingrui often pretended not to see these until the next day when the other party bombarded him with calls; only then would he sluggishly head to a hotel to deal with the Alpha’s rut. This timing happened to coincide exactly with Kou Xingyu’s rut.
He knew, of course, that Xie Mo lived in fear every day, terrified of this moment. Now that it had arrived, Xie Mo was gone.
Did he really get scared and run away?
Tang Yingrui’s face instantly turned cold. He kicked open the bedroom door and ransacked the living room and bathroom. The air only held the scent of stale dust; there wasn’t a sound of a human soul.
It was just as he thought. Xie Mo had run.
What happened to “never leaving”? To think he was so scared of spending a few nights with an Alpha that he’d desert at the last moment.
The night sky was oppressive, with only a dim morning star peeking through the lead-gray clouds. This area was largely abandoned; one had to cross a long, wide concrete road to leave. Since it was a dry summer, the concrete was parched, and the road surface was unusually level.
Tang Yingrui left the residential building, intending to check the places Xie Mo frequented most. Out of the corner of his eye, however, he spotted a car parked by the roadside.
Even in the dim night, it was conspicuous. The car’s exterior screamed wealth—the logo was a three-pointed star. It was a Maybach. It looked entirely out of place in these dilapidated surroundings. Tang Yingrui recognized it only because Kou Xingyu owned one as well.
…
The glass was one-way; one couldn’t see in from the outside, but those inside had a perfect view of the world.
Xie Mo was pressed against the reclined seat, kissed until he was breathless. Minutes ago, Ji Hanyue hadn’t wanted Tang Yingrui to see Xie Mo in such a state, so he had carried the boy downstairs quickly before Tang Yingrui emerged.
Xie Mo pressed against Ji Hanyue’s hard shoulders, wanting to push him away but lacking the strength. Suddenly, he saw a familiar figure outside the window.
Outside the one-way glass, Tang Yingrui was getting closer and closer. Inside the car, the sound of breathing mingled with the scents of Cypress and Cardamom, burning hot in the confined space.
Xie Mo’s face turned ghostly white. Hearing the footsteps approaching outside, Ji Hanyue showed no intention of pulling away. The look of excitement and malice in his eyes was almost overflowing.
Seeing that Xie Mo’s struggle was futile and that he was on the verge of tears, Ji Hanyue moved first, covering the Omega’s tightly bitten lips with his palm.
Kisses fell one by one on his forehead and eyelids. “Don’t cry. You don’t want him to see you like this, do you?”
Xie Mo was kissed until he couldn’t open his eyes. He tried to turn his head, but Ji Hanyue held it firmly in place. Hearing those words, he froze, and the tears swirling in his moist eyes were forcibly held back.
As expected, there was a knock on the window. Perhaps mindful of the luxury car’s value, the knocking wasn’t forceful.
“Hello? Is it convenient to open the window?” Tang Yingrui felt his tone was polite enough as he asked several times.
Finally, he received a frustrated, low-rasp of an answer: “It’s not convenient.”
Tang Yingrui frowned, knowing well that anyone who drove this kind of car wasn’t someone to mess with. But appearing here for no reason was definitely suspicious. He didn’t leave.
“My family’s Omega came out to play tonight and accidentally got lost. I was wondering if you saw him.”
No one inside replied.
Tang Yingrui leaned in slightly. From the outside, the one-way glass only showed his own distorted reflection. For a fleeting second, he thought he heard a very faint moan, mixed with the scent of blended pheromones leaking from the gaps in the car frame.
Even though Tang Yingrui knew a mute Omega like Xie Mo couldn’t possibly land such a high-profile catch, he still felt uneasy. The knocking on the window grew louder and more hurried.
Two minutes later, the window slowly rolled down, revealing half of a sharp, cold facial profile. Curled in the Alpha’s arms was a petite figure wrapped in a blanket, with only a few strands of indistinguishable hair visible.
A heavy scent of coffee pushed its way out—extremely intense. It completely masked any other smells within the cabin.
Ji Hanyue timed the release of his oppressive Alpha pheromones perfectly. When he opened his eyes, his gaze was laced with impatience. He lazily pressed the person in his arms further into the shadows and slanted a glance at Tang Yingrui.
“Do you have a hobby of peeking at others having sex?”
Even just sitting there, the man in the car exuded the arrogant, disdainful aura of the upper class. Tang Yingrui loathed that vibe, but it also made him think the person in the Alpha’s arms couldn’t possibly be Xie Mo.
With that thought, he spat out a curse and turned to walk in the other direction.
Xie Mo’s long, curled eyelashes were already soaked with cold sweat. Due to tension, his fingertips had crumpled the fabric of Ji Hanyue’s chest. The perfume bottle lying to the side was more than half empty, the coffee notes still swirling in the car.
“What are you panicking for?”
Ji Hanyue’s fingertips lightly brushed over the boy’s trembling back, the rhythm of his palm carrying a soothing intent. “I’m not that bad.”
Xie Mo caught his breath and turned his head. Through the windshield, he watched Tang Yingrui’s figure grow smaller in the distance. Was he going to look for me?
Ji Hanyue was feeling quite satisfied—not just physically, but his psychological need for possession was sated. However, the person in his arms suddenly became restless. Xie Mo wanted to grab his palm to write, but due to his curled-up position in the seat, he could only trace words lightly on Ji Hanyue’s chest instead.
—— Can you let me go now? He’ll be angry if he can’t find me.
As he wrote, Xie Mo felt Ji Hanyue’s breathing suddenly grow heavy. He frowned and, after finishing the message quickly, lifted his watery eyes, wanting to get out.
“He’ll be angry, but I won’t?” Ji Hanyue’s tone carried a spark of resentment he hadn’t even noticed himself.
Xie Mo felt the two were incomparable. Ji Hanyue was in a position of power, using coercion to keep him in his arms. Tang Yingrui, though irritable, had at least paid for him. In his mind, since Tang Yingrui bought him, he belonged to Tang Yingrui.
In the end, Xie Mo was taken away by Ji Hanyue. On one hand, Ji Hanyue’s rut required him; on the other, Xie Mo had been prematurely induced into heat by the Alpha.
On the way back, the car brushed past the hem of Tang Yingrui’s clothes. As Tang Yingrui watched the Maybach drive off into the distance, his phone suddenly buzzed with a message. It was from Kou Xingyu.
