The Art of a Brilliant Political Marriage - Chapter 13
“…I see. You are a kind person, aren’t you?”
“Huh?”
In front of the confused Cielin, Saves was nodding repeatedly for some reason. What he had understood was a complete mystery. For a while, Saves simply drank his tea. He didn’t seem to be the talkative type. The conversation died out, and silence fell over the room.
However, it wasn’t an uncomfortable silence. The gossip papers described him as an enemy to all women, but was he actually a gentle person? If so, he would be very different from Cielin’s ideal marriage partner. Come to think of it, why had he come to Cielin’s room in the first place? Even though he had returned home after a long time, it was strange for him to visit the room of a wife he hadn’t even accepted. Even if he had been worried that she wasn’t eating, he had confirmed she was alive and well, so his business should have been finished.
“By the way, my Lord, have you had dinner yet?”
“No, not yet.”
“Oh no, please head to the dining hall. Everyone is currently eating.”
“Eh? Ah, right.”
After finishing his tea, Saves was hurried out of the room by Cielin. Once Saves was gone, Litte slipped inside through the window. He must have been watching the room, waiting for the right time to enter.
“You really let that guy into this room?”
“He barged in without even knocking. When do you think I had time to stop him?”
Cielin glared at Litte with indignation.
“This is why I told you to put away the laundry quickly.”
In the corner of the room, several towels were still hanging on a rope. Of course, Cielin had noticed them. She felt that if she acted natural instead of trying to hide things poorly, the other person wouldn’t mention it. In fact, Saves had glanced at them once but never looked that way again.
“I put away the underwear! Can’t you overlook a few towels? Besides, he didn’t say a word about them.”
“He probably never imagined his wife would be drying laundry in her room and peacefully drinking tea while dressed like a maid.”
Litte burst out laughing. Cielin, who had been trying so hard to keep up appearances, could only groan.
“So, what did he come here for?”
“Who knows? We just drank tea.”
In reality, she had no idea why he came. Despite rushing over as if he were worried, all he did was drink tea. She didn’t understand her husband’s intentions at all.
“Maybe he found out you went out with your sister-in-law?”
“It didn’t feel like that. Even if he found out, I haven’t done anything wrong, have I?”
They had simply gone shopping together this afternoon like good sisters. Whether the sister-in-law actually enjoyed it was a different story. As Cielin gave a dark smile, Litte simply gave a bored grunt in response.
