Chapter 13: Am I… Or Do You Not Know Yet?
Fang Lv was wearing only a white tank top, with an lotus-pink checkered apron he had found from somewhere tied around his waist, exposing a large amount of skin. The blocky muscles of his upper arms bulged high, with faint cyan veins snaking across them. The apron was pulled tight at his waist following his frame, leaving his perfect inverted-triangle physique fully on display.
Fang Lv pinched his chin and lowered his head for a kiss, his tongue tracing the shape of Lu Siyang’s lips. The cool scent of sandalwood filled his mouth, gradually relaxing his tense nerves. He leaned into Fang Lv’s embrace, tilting his head back to open his mouth slightly, but the other man suddenly pulled away.
Seeing the dissatisfaction and blurred haze flashing in his glazed eyes, a light chuckle vibrated in Fang Lv’s throat: “The food is going to burn.” After saying that, he kissed Lu Siyang’s forehead and turned to stride back into the kitchen.
Watching the tall and sturdy Fang Lv standing at the counter, Lu Siyang couldn’t help but follow him in.
“Hungry?” Fang Lv noticed him entering and lifted the pot lid to check. “It’ll be ready soon.”
Steam mixed with the aroma of food drifted over. Lu Siyang sniffed: “You know how to make Oil-Braised Bamboo Shoots?”
“First time making it,” Fang Lv used chopsticks to pick up a shred of bamboo, blew on it, and held it to Lu Siyang’s mouth. “The taste might not compare to that private bistro on Yixin Road.”
The private bistro on Yixin Road?
The hand Lu Siyang used to prop himself against the counter tightened. He turned his head to look at the richly sauced bamboo shoots to hide the surprise in his eyes. He suddenly remembered that while passing Yixin Road last week, he happened to see that private bistro—where he had eaten a few times—was temporarily closed. At the time, he had only mentioned casually that their Oil-Braised Bamboo Shoots were very good; he hadn’t expected Fang Lv to remember it.
Lu Siyang opened his mouth and ate the bamboo. Accompanied by the burning heat at the tips of his ears, the sweetness of rock sugar and the fresh tenderness of the bamboo spread through his mouth. After swallowing, he wanted to ask Fang Lv why he had gone to the trouble of making this for him, but he felt that asking would be too conceited.
Fang Lv stood before the counter, seriously stir-frying the bamboo. His long eyelashes half-covered his indifferent eyes, and his lips were slightly pursed. From the side, the line from his nose to his jaw looked like a perfectly curved sculpture.
“Fang Lv, you…” Lu Siyang stared blankly at him, speaking instinctively.
“Mmh?” Fang Lv turned his head immediately, the frown caused by the oily smoke instantly smoothing out. “What is it?”
“Why are you making this for me—”
Ring—
Before Fang Lv could respond, the phone suddenly rang. He pulled it out and saw it was Assistant Zhang. He waved at Fang Lv: “I’ll take this call first.” As he spoke, he pressed the answer button and stepped toward the kitchen door.
“Hello.”
“President Lu, Wang Fa has returned to the country.”
Lu Siyang froze. Good, the dog-thing is finally back. A sinister smile curled on his lips as he asked in a low voice, “Where is he now?”
Assistant Zhang answered quickly: “Wang Fa just got off the plane; he’s currently waiting for his luggage.”
“Very good,” Lu Siyang leaned against the doorframe, his tone dark and menacing. “Invite Young Master Wang to the company tomorrow and give him a very warm reception.”
“Understood, President Lu.”
Lu Siyang hung up, his face clouded. That bastard Wang Fa had first drugged his drink, then spent money to bribe and instigate employees to slander Lu Corporation. Now that he’d fallen into his hands, he shouldn’t blame him for being ruthless…
Lu Siyang put away his phone, but as he turned back, he nearly collided with Fang Lv, who was carrying a plate. While he was on the phone, he had felt Fang Lv’s burning gaze lingering on his back the whole time. With the sudden proximity, the flush that had just faded from his cheeks climbed back up.
Lu Siyang stepped aside to make room, but the other man moved first to block him against the door.
“Because you like it,” Fang Lv leaned in over him, his deep gaze looking into his eyes. “I want to make you happy.”
The blunt words made Lu Siyang freeze; only then did he realize Fang Lv was answering his previous question. He looked up, and in Fang Lv’s calm, waveless pupils, he saw his own face reflected, full of surprise and shyness.
“I…” Lu Siyang dodged Fang Lv’s gaze, his tone panicked. “I’m going to go get a glass of water.” Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked out quickly.
He poured a full glass of cold water and gulped it down, trying to suppress the heat in his cheeks. It took a long time for the violent heartbeat thundering in his ears to slowly calm down. Lu Siyang set the water glass down with an annoyed thud; just a half-joking, half-serious sentence had made him flee in such a pathetic, flustered state…
By the time the redness faded, Fang Lv had already brought the dishes to the dining table. There was fluffy white rice paired with the richly sauced Oil-Braised Bamboo Shoots, vibrant blanched bok choy, garlic enoki mushrooms topped with a layer of chopped chili, and steaming vegetable porridge.
Lu Siyang walked to the table and stared at the aromatic spread for a long time before finally asking.
“How come… it’s all vegetables? There isn’t a single bit of meat…”
He had noticed long ago that Fang Lv seemed never to cook meat dishes… He wasn’t feeding a rabbit; why eat only vegetables every day? After saying it, he mumbled in a low voice, “Have you joined a monastery? Eating vegetarian every day.”
Fang Lv bared his teeth in a grin and said with deep meaning: “Am I, or do you not know yet?”
Truly a shameless rogue. Lu Siyang’s face turned red as he shifted the topic with an air of normalcy: “Why haven’t you been going to the bar lately? You’re quite the carefree boss.” During the first few days of living at his house, Fang Lv had still gone to check the bar every other day. But these past few days, aside from taking him to the tea house yesterday, Fang Lv hadn’t left the house in a week.
“I’m not like you, President Lu—working yourself to death, wishing you could live at the company twenty-four hours a day. And—” Fang Lv leaned in from behind, his nose brushing his earlobe, “right now, I have more important business to ‘do’.”
Clearly normal words, yet Fang Lv emphasized the last word, adding an inexplicable sense of ambiguity.
Lu Siyang struggled against the hands pinning his shoulders and snapped: “Fang Lv, is there nothing in your head besides that kind of thing? Are you like this with everyone?”
Fang Lv bit down lightly on his jaw, his tone carrying a smile: “President Lu is quite the jealous one.”
Lu Siyang snorted coldly: “I am merely stating facts.” He wasn’t naturally such a petty person, but whenever he thought about Fang Lv’s soft smile toward that stranger at the bar entrance, he always felt a lingering resentment.
The hand tracing along his waist suddenly stopped. Fang Lv’s tone went flat: “I once stayed at Yushan Temple for a few years.”
Yushan Temple? That Yushan Temple in He Province with such thriving incense offerings?
Lu Siyang’s mouth fell open in shock: “You… you actually converted?!” No wonder his body always carried that scent of temple incense; turns out he had been “marinated” in it…
“Practicing without taking vows,” Fang Lv seemed to recall something, a cold light flickering in his eyes. “So, whether it’s appetite or the bed, I have always been indifferent to the seven emotions and six desires.”
“You’re indifferent?!” The still-shocked Lu Siyang suddenly let out a mocking laugh, his eyes full of sarcasm. “Then pray tell, what is this thing poking my lower back right now? Is Boss Fang carrying a flashlight in his pocket?”
The cold light in those light gray eyes vanished instantly. Fang Lv pressed closer again with a scalding heat: “Of course, that was before I met you.”
A rolling heat wave rose along his back. Lu Siyang gave Fang Lv a shove and grumbled, “Get lost, I’m not an aphrodisiac!”
Fang Lv pulled him into his arms in one motion, his lips sniffing at the side of his neck: “To me, you are. Do you know, the first time I saw you in the elevator, I wanted to pin you against the wall…”
Such explicit words heavily toyed with Lu Siyang’s nerves.
“Shut up!” His entire face turned a painful red from extreme shame. Lu Siyang pushed against Fang Lv’s approach. “Fang Lv, I’ve found that you’re becoming more and more shameless.”
Fang Lv’s tongue left a moist trail on his earlobe, his low, raspy voice scraping against the eardrum: “Doesn’t President Lu like my shamelessness?”
A dense, tingling numbness spread from his earlobe throughout his body. Lu Siyang let out a soft moan, his voice mixed with an uncontrollable tremble: “You… stop… being so conceited…”
Fang Lv’s breathing grew heavy. One hand kneaded his smooth, lean waist with just the right amount of pressure: “Me, conceited? Then who was it last night that—”
Seeing that Fang Lv’s words were becoming more and more outrageous, Lu Siyang hooked his arms around Fang Lv’s neck and stood on his tiptoes to block that rambling mouth.
The corners of Fang Lv’s eyes crinkled. From between their pressed lips, a trace of a mischievous laugh escaped. Lu Siyang closed his eyes recklessly, the flush on his cheeks spreading all the way to his ears.
After a bout of entanglement, Fang Lv was the one to pull back of his own accord. With unsteady breath, he pinched Lu Siyang’s chin and teased: “So eager?”
Lu Siyang took short, heavy breaths, slanting his reddened eyes to glance at Fang Lv: “What, isn’t Boss Fang eager?” As he spoke, he raised his leg and nudged a certain spot with his knee.
Fang Lv let out a muffled groan, his back stiffening. Realizing that Fang Lv’s breathing had stopped instantly because of his action, Lu Siyang gave a light laugh and took the initiative to kiss him again.
There was no gap between their tightly pressed lips. His soft tongue took the chance to slip into Fang Lv’s mouth, wantonly sweeping through the unfamiliar territory. Lu Siyang’s seductive, blurred expression was reflected in those light gray eyes. Fang Lv’s breathing became even more ragged, his eyes stained with a thick desire for possession.
Lu Siyang felt a pair of powerful arms hoist him into the air. Due to inertia, his upper body jerked back, and he hugged Fang Lv’s neck in a fright: “What are you doing!”
Fang Lv untied the apron with one hand and tossed it aside, pinning him against the wall: “What do you think?” The rising lilt at the end of his voice carried a rasp that made Lu Siyang tremble. In those eyes stained with lust, there was a ferocity that seemed as if it wanted to devour him whole.
His shirt was pulled up high. Lu Siyang’s smooth back pressed against the ice-cold wall, while his chest felt the blazing heat rising from Fang Lv’s body. The intense contrast in temperature intertwined into an ultimate sensation that surged through his entire body. Fang Lv tore open the shirt on his body and leaned in to lick his prominently protruding Adam’s apple. The rough sensation of his tongue scraped against the delicate neck, drawing out wave after wave of tremors.
