The Amnesiac Drama Queen Is Crashing the Live Stream - Chapter 30.1
Xia Xingtang’s entire body stiffened.
The familiar scent of a cool fragrance lingered at the tip of her nose, crisp and serene.
It reminded her of the day she had seen Pei Luoqing at Shili Fangfei, surrounded by a crowd of CEOs. Aloof and proud, as if she would never pause her steps for anyone.
Yet human nature is inherently flawed, the more unattainable someone seems, the more they stir a restless fire deep within, an irresistible urge to pull them down from their pedestal and sink together in shared indulgence.
As their breaths intertwined, the perfumes they wore, one a clear, cool woody scent, the other a tangy, sweet fruity aroma, slowly mingled in the air, unexpectedly harmonizing.
Feeling the pressure intensify at her fingertips, Xia Xingtang tilted her head back slightly, the panic in her eyes gradually fading as she looked up at the other woman.
The movie had long ended, and the screen had returned to the film library. Perhaps due to inactivity, the screen’s brightness had dimmed considerably.
Xia Xingtang’s heart raced a little faster, but she gave up struggling and allowed Pei Luoqing to hold her hand. Her body relaxed like boneless silk, leaning against the cool wall tiles behind her.
Though they were nearly the same height, she now had to lift her head slightly to meet Pei Luoqing’s gaze.
Yet she felt no trace of inferiority.
She recalled the day she had fallen into the water.
If it had been someone else who rescued her, would she have acted the same way? No.
If Pei Luoqing had acted faster and pulled her out of the water sooner, would that kiss between them still have happened? Yes.
So why hesitate?
Pei Luoqing’s familiar eyes looked down at her, but the usual coldness in them had faded, replaced by a brilliance like stars in the night sky, growing brighter and brighter.
It was proof that she had pulled her down to the mortal world, that she had made her pause for her alone.
A faint smile played at the corners of Xia Xingtang’s lips. Her gaze drifted downward, and she clicked her tongue softly in mild disappointment. “What a shame you’re not wearing a tie today.”
“What?”
“But it doesn’t matter.”
Her free hand swiftly traced a path from Pei Luoqing’s waist, across her chest and neck, then circled around to the back of her head, gently pressing her downward. “This works just as well.”
A scorching, fervent kiss sealed Pei Luoqing’s confusion, making her eyes widen in surprise.
But it was only a brief, teasing kiss. Xia Xingtang’s left hand gradually loosened its grip, sliding down to Pei Luoqing’s shoulder. With a swift pivot, she reversed their positions, pressing Pei Luoqing against the wall without warning.
She raised an eyebrow, watching Pei Luoqing’s stunned expression as she was pinned against the wall.
The slightly ajar window let in a breeze that tangled their hair and brushed against their thin clothing.
“Hey, you CEOs! Are you only good at making empty promises and nothing else? After watching that long kissing scene in the movie, you still haven’t learned how?” Now in control, Xia Xingtang couldn’t resist teasing, her voice laced with undisguised amusement.
The dim light from the screen cast a glow on Xia Xingtang’s radiant, bold face. Pei Luoqing was momentarily stunned, but before she could react, she was kissed again.
This time, the kiss lingered a little longer, just long enough for her to feel the softness of the other’s lips, before it faded away once more.
“Alright, alright. Consider this a free lesson. Now you’ve got one more skill than my sister. No need to thank me too much.”
The girl’s lively eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief, as if she truly intended to prove a point right in front of her, ready to leave the moment she finished teaching, just as she had claimed.
It was reminiscent of a student visiting the teacher’s office during school days, once the lesson was over, it was time to go.
Pei Luoqing narrowed her eyes slightly, her lips, which had been speaking so eloquently, now flushed a deep, enticing crimson.
After a few playful tussles, her hair had become slightly disheveled, casually cascading over her delicate and fragile collarbones.
A scorching warmth transmitted from their pressed palms, tingling and numbing, flowing through her veins and eventually converging in her chest.
Pei Luoqing gazed at Xia Xingtang’s face and lips with a complex expression, and just as Xia Xingtang was about to let go nonchalantly, she suddenly reached out and wrapped an arm around Xia Xingtang’s waist, pulling her close.
“Mmm…”
A warm, moist breath emanated from their tightly pressed lips, and Xia Xingtang could feel the other person gently rubbing and caressing her lips.
It seemed as though she had even instinctively begun to softly suck and nibble.
But how could that be?
Just as she thought it might be an illusion, the other’s tongue tentatively probed forward, easily parting her tightly closed lips and breaching the first line of defense.
She was so startled that her eyes flew open.
Before her, Pei Luoqing’s eyes were closed, her expression unchanged and composed, showing no trace of emotion.
Only the slightly increasing pressure on her lips confirmed that the person before her was truly kissing her.
It was in this moment of lowered guard that her tightly clenched teeth parted, and the sensation of their softness touching stimulated Xia Xingtang into closing her eyes once more.
The unprecedented warmth brought tears to the corners of her eyes, and she couldn’t help but want to say something, perhaps to stop the kiss, or perhaps to take it further.
But all her words were swallowed, with no chance of being heard.
The only sounds that escaped were fragmented, delicate whimpers.
As Xia Xingtang closed her eyes, she failed to notice that the other’s eyes had slowly opened, no longer filled with thoughts of business trips, work, or overtime, only Xia Xingtang remained.
Her gaze grew deeper and deeper, until the broken whimpers escaped. Then, Pei Luoqing closed her eyes again, released the hand that had been holding Xia Xingtang, and placed it on the back of her neck.
Together with the other hand on her waist, she tightly drew Xia Xingtang into her embrace.
Xia Xingtang’s hands hung limply, clutching the edges of her clothes as if it were her last act of defiance.
Pei Luoqing kissed with unrestrained passion, as if releasing years of suppressed emotions.
They had first met in the golden autumn when osmanthus bloomed, walked together in the summer amidst crowds and seas of flowers, and drifted apart in a spring filled with melancholy.
But now, at last, she could hold her once more.
Her fiery lips were traversed, every inch meticulously tasted, each touch igniting a wave of heat. The lips that had once been so smug were now being sucked and nibbled until soft, wet sounds emerged.
Unbeknownst to her, just a minute ago, those same lips had attempted to provoke the other with the word “teaching,” masking her own inexperience.
But now, it was all laid bare.
The kiss finally came to a halt. Pei Luoqing lowered her gaze for a moment, then, unable to resist, leaned in for another gentle kiss, this time just a light press, sucking until a bewitching shade of red bloomed.
Her plump lips seemed to bear a unique mark, glistening with a faint sheen of moisture, like a blooming flower, exceptionally vibrant and captivating.
Blooming only for her.
Finally, Pei Luoqing lifted her head, embracing Xia Xingtang, who was still panting softly, and gently drew her into her arms.
Her hand patted Xia Xingtang’s back soothingly, calming the lingering emotions.
After an unknown amount of time, the person pretending to be lifeless in her arms couldn’t hold back any longer and quietly raised her head.
Pei Luoqing slightly increased the distance between them, reached out to wipe the moisture from the corner of Xia Xingtang’s lips, and couldn’t resist teasing her.
She spoke slowly, her tone still tinged with satisfaction: “Teacher Xia, are you satisfied with my performance?”
“I wonder if my remedial efforts have met your expectations?”
Xia Xingtang: …
Xia Xingtang never imagined that the first topic of conversation after they had taken things further would be an evaluation of kissing skills.
She had to admit, birds of a feather flock together.
No matter how restrained and composed Pei Luoqing appeared in front of others, someone who had been close friends with her sister Xia Qingyue for so many years was, at heart, no pushover.
Just moments ago, under the guise of teaching, Xia Xingtang had feigned an air of effortless confidence to tease Pei Luoqing. But not only did Pei Luoqing respond with a deeper kiss, she even deliberately asked for a grade.
Satisfied? Satisfied, my foot! Take a big fat zero and go home!
Pei Luoqing’s kissing skills were terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE!
She kissed until Xia Xingtang’s face flushed, her heart raced, absolutely unacceptable!
The mere thought of how she had been utterly powerless, completely under Pei Luoqing’s control and even lost in it, made Xia Xingtang inexplicably furious.
She curled her lips into a smile and said, “With kissing skills that bad, how dare you even ask me? Should I go find you some instructional videos to study?”
“No need.” Pei Luoqing tugged at her collar and brushed aside her disheveled hair. “They’re not as good-looking as you.”
Oh, so you’re saying I’m good-looking?
So good-looking that you had to pin me down and kiss me until I almost suffocated?
Xia Xingtang let out a dry laugh. “Oh, really? Then you must have suffered quite a bit.”
“You’ve studied for so many years, you should know the pitfalls of armchair strategizing, right?”
Xia Xingtang frowned, unsure why Pei Luoqing had brought this up.
“Just like how you excelled in high school and college, yet every quarter your investments…” Pei Luoqing paused at just the right moment, but her implication was already clear.
It might have been a valid analogy, but to Xia Xingtang, it sounded like mockery.
She had always been competitive. Since Xia Qingyue was five years older and seemed to know everything, always one step ahead, a rebellious streak had taken root in Xia Xingtang from childhood.
Coupled with teenage defiance, while others skipped class, fought, or dated, she poured all her energy into studying.
After losing her memory, she learned that she had skipped two grades to enter the finance department at Yanjing University, but she also discovered the countless losses in her investments.
It was undoubtedly her sore spot.
Even Xia Qingyue never dared to mention it in front of her, afraid of crushing her confidence, and simply transferred a monthly allowance to help her out.
Yet Pei Luoqing had to bring it up.
And use it as a cautionary tale.
Hmph.
“You’re absolutely right.” Xia Xingtang smiled again, deliberately softening her voice. “So, what are you trying to prove?”
Pei Luoqing didn’t dwell on it too much. Seeing how agreeable Xia Xingtang was, she simply nodded and said, “So, instead of watching films to learn, why don’t you practice with me?”
Xia Xingtang remained silent.
Recalling Xia Xingtang’s usual attitude, Pei Luoqing changed her approach.
“So, may I ask the beautiful and noble Princess to personally teach me?”
Xia Xingtang nodded, then feigned regret. “What a pity! The Princess was poisoned by an apple and died.”
After swiftly pushing the other person away and escaping to her own bedroom, Xia Xingtang looked at her flushed face and bright red lips in the mirror and immediately abandoned the idea of removing her makeup.
She quickly took out her phone and shared every detail of tonight’s mortifying incident with Yu Feifei.
She had expected Yu Feifei to join her in cursing Pei Luoqing, as she always did. After all, the standard for a top-tier best friend in China was to side with you unconditionally and curse whoever you cursed.
But tonight, Yu Feifei listened and then mercilessly burst into laughter, teetering on the edge of being blocked, tirelessly pushing the limits.
Xia Xingtang typed through gritted teeth: Xiao Feifei, do you have many friends?
Yu Feifei clearly didn’t get the hint: You’re my only good friend, sweetie. You know exactly what the others around me are like. (kissing emoji)
Xia Xingtang: Great. Then you won’t have any friends from now on.
