The Aloof Little Puppy Is Super Obedient - Chapter 26
“It’s just that after all our ups and downs, we are still together. Let’s face our future life together.”
Chu Jingtian looked at Su Jingyang with a smile. Seeing Su Jingyang’s ever-present grin was a source of joy for him; as long as Su Jingyang stood by him, he was reminded of their childhood. Back then, Su Jingyang would often lead him along this very path, wandering together. Now, returning to this small road and walking slowly, it felt as if they were reliving everything that had happened before. This path felt like the road of their lives, and for some reason, as they walked it, they had gradually grown up.
For the past few days, Chu Jingtian had been pondering a specific issue: Su Jingyang’s entry into the entertainment industry would certainly bring challenges. Seeing how persistent Su Jingyang was, Chu Jingtian realized he had no choice but to agree. Although he allowed it, he still called Su Jingyang into his office for a private talk.
“Alright, I understand your desire to join the industry, but you must know that you need to maintain a balanced mindset.” Chu Jingtian went on with a long lecture.
Su Jingyang listened to the “nonsense” with a constant smile, patiently taking it all in. “Brother, I definitely understand these issues. Don’t worry about it; how could I not handle such things?”
Seeing Su Jingyang’s determination, Chu Jingtian sighed and patted him. “You brat. Since you are in the entertainment industry now and I am your manager, we are no longer in a ‘brother’ relationship here. Do you understand?”
Su Jingyang listened to the serious tone and nodded obediently. Chu Jingtian then began taking him on a tour of the company.
“Alright, since you are so set on working here as a star, let me explain some things about the industry to you.”
Chu Jingtian walked ahead, lecturing as he went. Su Jingyang followed behind, watching him. Because the company’s design featured a lot of transparent glass, the sunlight hit Chu Jingtian’s face, making him look even more radiant. Today, Chu Jingtian was wearing a black suit with a black tie, which gave him a serious aura. Su Jingyang looked at his styling and his androgynous face with a hidden smile, feeling very happy to simply follow in his wake. To him, following Chu Jingtian was a path of happiness.
Chu Jingtian, walking in front, had no idea what Su Jingyang was thinking; he just focused on explaining the company and the industry. Reaching the end of the hall, Chu Jingtian stopped and turned around.
“I’ve said so much; did you understand any of it?” he asked, looking at Su Jingyang with a mix of doubt and concern.
As Chu Jingtian suddenly turned, Su Jingyang’s cheeks flushed slightly. Caught off guard, he could only stammer, “I remembered it.”
Chu Jingtian noticed the redness. “Why is your face so red? Is something wrong? If you have a fever, you should go to the hospital immediately!” He reached out to touch Su Jingyang’s cheek. “Your face is so hot! There really is a problem. I’m taking you to the hospital right now!”
Chu Jingtian grabbed Su Jingyang’s hand, ready to lead him away. Su Jingyang, embarrassed by the intense concern, lowered his head. His blush subsided slightly as he looked at Chu Jingtian awkwardly. “Brother, I’m fine. Don’t worry about me; there’s no need to be so anxious.”
Seeing Chu Jingtian so worried was actually a happy thing for Su Jingyang. It reminded him of when they were kids; whenever Chu Jingtian found him with a fever, he would carry him on his back to get help. Seeing that same urgency now, Su Jingyang quickly assured him that he was okay.
Chu Jingtian finally let out a breath of relief. “You brat. If there’s something wrong, just tell me. Don’t hide it and don’t try to be brave.”
“Brother, I’m definitely fine. Rest assured, if anything comes up, I’ll tell you.” Su Jingyang felt a bit embarrassed, not knowing how to explain that the “fever” was just a blush from staring at him.
Chu Jingtian patted him. “Just tell me in the future. Don’t act like nothing is a big deal.” He truly wished his younger brother would be transparent with him. Su Jingyang nodded obediently, though he felt a bit awkward under Chu Jingtian’s persistent gaze. They continued their tour of the company.
Since the company was their own creation, Chu Jingtian knew every corner of it by heart and explained everything fluently. Before they knew it, noon had arrived.
Su Jingyang looked at Chu Jingtian with a smile. “Brother, it’s lunchtime. How about we go eat together?” He led Chu Jingtian to a restaurant for lunch. After walking so much all morning, it was time for a proper rest.
Chu Jingtian looked at Su Jingyang with a touch of helplessness. He hadn’t expected the younger man to be so insistent on dragging him here to eat.
“I’m telling you now, you’re about to be an artist. You should eat less of this kind of stuff.” Chu Jingtian looked at the “Kenting-ting” (KFC-style fast food) in front of him with resignation. He hadn’t expected Su Jingyang to still have such a childish palate, ordering a whole table of fast food. “I really don’t know what you’re thinking, ordering so many kid’s meals.”
“Alright, Brother, don’t say anything else. I’m eating this now to compensate for the fact that I won’t be able to eat it later.” Su Jingyang realized that joining the entertainment industry meant certain foods would be off-limits. He felt a tiny bit of regret about that, but since he had chosen this path to be closer to Chu Jingtian, he didn’t really mind. A friend had told him that being an artist meant spending a lot of time with your manager. That thought alone made him happy; anything that allowed him to be with Chu Jingtian longer was a win.
Chu Jingtian watched Su Jingyang eating a burger like a child, his face full of helplessness. Sometimes he felt Su Jingyang would never grow up. Though the younger man was steady in most things, when it came to food, he was just like a kid.
“Fine, I’m just joking with you. But do control your diet; eating too much at once is bad for your stomach. Did you forget when you were little.”
Before Chu Jingtian could finish, Su Jingyang picked up a large fried chicken leg and stuffed it toward Chu Jingtian to stop him from talking. “Alright, Brother, hurry up and eat this chicken leg. The taste is actually quite good!”
Chu Jingtian struggled for a moment, then looked at Su Jingyang with exasperation. “You brat, I didn’t realize you were so cunning now. Just you wait!” He kept his voice low, conscious of the crowds around them.
