“You brat! Don’t give me that. I don’t even know what to say to you about this. If your Brother Jingtian hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have even known you were joining the industry. Su Jingyang didn’t know how to respond to his father’s lack of faith. He hadn’t even tried yet, and they already assumed he would fail.

Su Jingyang felt truly helpless. He couldn’t understand why his family was so worried. He had explained the situation, and he had his own principles. However, the people on the other end of the phone were convinced it wouldn’t be simple.

Su Jingyang exposed his father’s motives without hesitation. He knew his father well; he just wanted to travel with his mother and was trying to push the company’s responsibilities onto his son as soon as possible. It wasn’t that Su Jingyang didn’t want to inherit the business, but he felt he was too young to be tied down by it yet.

There was silence on the other end, as if his father were speechless. Anything he said now would likely be met with more of Su Jingyang’s rebellious logic.

“You brat! Have you ever considered how hard your mother and I worked when we were young? We had no time for ourselves.”

“Since you mentioned that, you have no right to lecture me. When I was little, I was raised by my grandparents. Why? Wasn’t it because the two of you were always off on sweet vacations? And now you have the nerve to tell me you were too busy with work. You’re just trying to push this burden onto me so you can enjoy your retirement.”

Their whole family was actually quite laid-back. Su Jingyang couldn’t understand why his parents wanted him to take over the company so early. Though he was usually quiet, he wasn’t someone to be pushed around, and he wasn’t going to waste his youth solely on the company.

His father couldn’t find a way to argue back. Su Jingyang’s logic was too sound. “Fine, you brat. You’ve said your piece, and I don’t know how to answer you.”

Su Jingyang saw that his father was speechless and smiled. “See? You’re too embarrassed to say anything. Don’t bother me anymore; I’m hanging up.”

Su Jingyang hung up without hesitation. He didn’t see the point of the call. He had already stated he wanted to experience life first; he could take over the company later. He felt helpless thinking about how his father started lecturing him as soon as he heard about the entertainment industry.

He knew the industry was complex, but what did it matter? He actually had his own talent agency as well. If he wanted to blackball someone or handle a situation, it would be easy. He just wanted to experience the reality of that lifestyle. More importantly, being an artist would allow him to spend more time with his brother.

The thought of being near Chu Jingtian made him happy. Although it wouldn’t be easy and he might face criticism, he was willing to do anything to see his brother. He was a persistent person; once he set his mind on something, he would see it through to the end. Su Jingyang clenched his fists, determined to show his brother what he was capable of.
