The Aloof CEO’s Hidden Temptation - Chapter 15
Assistant Liu opened the car door for her. Fu Chaoying instinctively looked inside, only to find the aviation seats empty.
Ye Jiayuan was not in the car.
Noticing her movement, Liu Xin proactively explained, “President Ye happens to be attending an event nearby. It should be finishing just as we arrive.”
Fu Chaoying nodded slightly. “Alright.”
Once seated, Fu Chaoying leaned back gently, unexpectedly met by a soft pillow supporting her.
“Miss Chaoying, try out this new soft pillow I bought,” Assistant Liu introduced with a smile. “My girlfriend loves it and recommended it to me.”
The corners of Fu Chaoying’s lips curled upward. “Your girlfriend has excellent taste.”
This was her first time being alone with Assistant Liu, and also the first time she realized that Ye Jiayuan’s usually stern assistant was actually quite lively.
Perhaps it was because the boss had always been present before, making it hard for her to show her true personality. As Assistant Liu talked about her girlfriend, her face beamed with excitement, and Fu Chaoying listened with genuine interest.
The vehicle soon came to a stop.
Liu Xin immediately got out to pick up Ye Jiayuan, while Fu Chaoying waited quietly in the car.
Before long, Fu Chaoying saw Ye Jiayuan and her assistant walking over through the car window. Just as she was nonchalantly withdrawing her gaze, she heard a familiar female voice.
“Sister!”
It was Ye Yi’an again.
Fu Chaoying couldn’t help but smile self-mockingly, remembering that Ye Jiayuan and Ye Yi’an were biological sisters. Now that she was in frequent contact with Ye Jiayuan, it was only natural to run into the younger sister.
It wasn’t anything to be shocked about.
Fu Chaoying sat calmly inside the car, pretending not to hear the commotion outside.
However, Ye Yi’an seemed drunk, muttering incoherently, “Sister, since you’re on good terms with A-Ying now, can’t you help me?”
“Since I lost her… I haven’t had a single good day.”
“I miss her so much…”
Fu Chaoying couldn’t help but turn her eyes toward them, but she could only see the silhouettes of the two sisters, she couldn’t make out Ye Jiayuan’s expression.
After a long while, she only heard Ye Jiayuan say to Liu Xin in a deep voice, “Take her home.”
Ye Jiayuan didn’t comment on her sister’s pestering of Fu Chaoying, seemingly having no intention of intervening in the rights and wrongs between them.
Seeing Liu Xin lead Ye Yi’an away, Fu Chaoying quickly looked away. Ye Jiayuan then opened the door and got into the car, softly instructing, “Back to the hotel.”
Fu Chaoying turned her head to look at her, suddenly locking eyes.
Fu Chaoying thought she was going to mention what happened outside the car, and her heart tightened instantly. Instead, she heard a casual question.
“How did the cooperation talks go?”
Fu Chaoying felt an inexplicable sense of relief. “Very smoothly.”
Ye Jiayuan gave a quiet “mm” and then leaned against the soft pillow to rest with her eyes closed.
Fu Chaoying couldn’t resist glancing at her, but she could only see half of her profile.
Ye Jiayuan must be truly exhausted, she thought.
The car drove exceptionally smoothly, and sleepiness gradually washed over Fu Chaoying. By the time she opened her eyes again, Ye Jiayuan was already busy handling work.
She had heard before that Ye Jiayuan was very busy, but she never knew she was this busy.
Fu Chaoying had felt exhausted after just two weeks of being busy, yet Ye Jiayuan seemed to be this way day after day, this level of work intensity made Fu Chaoying feel that her presence in Ye Jiayuan’s world was far too small.
Ye Jiayuan noticed her gaze and looked up. “Are you hungry?”
Fu Chaoying shook her head. “I ate dinner at the venue.”
The two returned to the hotel.
Tonight, there was neither wind nor rain, and the sky was clear, sitting on the balcony, one could even see a scattering of stars.
Fu Chaoying was lost in stargazing when she suddenly heard the doorbell ring.
She stood up to open the door, only to see a bright, beautiful woman reeking of alcohol. Qu Jingyuan, Ye Jiayuan’s university classmate and colleague.
The woman paused when she saw her, then gave a languid smile. “The little sister is here too.”
There seemed to be a hint of bitterness in her smile.
Fu Chaoying greeted her politely and turned to find Ye Jiayuan, who was emerging from the master bedroom wearing pajamas.
Qu Jingyuan was unsteady on her feet, so Fu Chaoying quickly reached out to support her.
Ye Jiayuan also came over to help, and together they guided her to the sofa.
“What’s wrong?” Ye Jiayuan asked in a low voice.
Qu Jingyuan didn’t answer directly, instead saying casually, “So the little sister is staying with you.”
Fu Chaoying sensed something in the air, only to hear Ye Jiayuan’s flat reply, “The place is unfamiliar to her.”
Given the relationship between the Ye and Fu families, it was perfectly normal for her to stay at Ye Jiayuan’s place.
Qu Jingyuan smiled playfully and asked coquettishly, “Would it be convenient for me to stay the night? I won’t be bothering you two, will I?”
Fu Chaoying’s gaze shifted from Qu Jingyuan’s drunken face to Ye Jiayuan. She saw Ye Jiayuan reply calmly, “You can stay.”
This answer was within Fu Chaoying’s expectations. Between friends, staying over while drunk was a perfectly normal occurrence.
Fu Chaoying stood up at the right moment. “Then I’ll leave you two to talk. I’m going to go wash up.”
Fu Chaoying returned to the second bedroom. After washing up, she came out to get a glass of water, only to see Qu Jingyuan dressed thinly, her voice rising in a pampered tone.
“A-Yuan, how do you turn on the water heater?”
“A-Yuan, do you have any new pajamas?”
“A-Yuan, this mattress is uncomfortable…”
Holding her water glass, Fu Chaoying saw Ye Jiayuan standing at the door of the guest room making a phone call.
Ye Jiayuan hung up and noticed her approaching. “Did it wake you?”
Fu Chaoying shook her head.
The housekeeper soon arrived and began handling all of Qu Jingyuan’s requests.
Ye Jiayuan turned to enter the study but remembered something. She turned back to Fu Chaoying and said, “The study has the best soundproofing. If it’s too loud, you can come in here.”
Fu Chaoying followed suit, sitting by the floor to ceiling window in the study.
Outside, the moon was bright and the stars were few, inside, the “background music” was the sound of Ye Jiayuan tapping on her keyboard.
As she grew drowsy, Fu Chaoying bid Ye Jiayuan goodnight.
But as she pushed open the study door, she brushed past Qu Jingyuan, whose pajamas were half-open.
Fu Chaoying froze. As she turned around, she saw the door close.
Is Qu Jingyuan planning to seduce Ye Jiayuan?
Fu Chaoying’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately turned and knocked on the door, only to hear a cold voice from inside.
“Have some self-respect.”
It was Ye Jiayuan’s voice.
Fu Chaoying stood stunned for a moment before the door opened from the inside. A faint lipstick mark was visible on the collar of Ye Jiayuan’s pajamas, while the tie on Qu Jingyuan’s robe was nearly undone.
The scene was somewhat erotic, and Fu Chaoying quickly turned away. She heard Ye Jiayuan walk out quickly, closing the door behind her, and explaining softly, “Sorry, she’s drunk.”
Fu Chaoying turned back, looked at Ye Jiayuan’s expression, then pointed to the study door. “What about her?”
“I’ll have the housekeeper send her home.” Ye Jiayuan’s expression was composed, as if the incident just now hadn’t happened at all.
“Oh.” Fu Chaoying turned to leave, then turned back to ask, “Then… do you need me to stay with you, Sister?”
Ye Jiayuan gazed at her for two seconds before nodding.
The two moved to the balcony.
Although Fu Chaoying felt slightly awkward, she quickly jumped to a natural topic. She rambled about various things without any real theme, mostly, she did the talking while Ye Jiayuan responded with a few simple words.
The housekeeper finally arrived and led Qu Jingyuan out of the study. The latter could be heard grumbling.
“I’m not going home…”
“Don’t pull me…”
After some shuffling, Fu Chaoying and Ye Jiayuan watched their retreating figures until they heard the front door close.
Fu Chaoying felt an inexplicable sense of relief, then spoke as if unintentionally, “Is Sister Jingyuan…?”
Ye Jiayuan turned to look at her, saying flatly, “She’s drunk.”
Fu Chaoying smiled. “But even when she’s not drunk, it’s quite obvious.”
Ye Jiayuan turned to look out the window. “She and I can only be friends.”
“Just friends” and “can only be friends” carried entirely different meanings.
Fu Chaoying smiled and didn’t press further, merely remarking, “Sister, you really have a lot of admirers…”
Having said that, Fu Chaoying turned and headed toward the second bedroom. At the door, she looked back at Ye Jiayuan with a beaming smile. “Goodnight, Sister.”
As she closed the door, she heard a cold voice from behind her: “Goodnight.”
Lying in bed, the image of Qu Jingyuan’s seductive, half-open pajamas and the lipstick mark on Ye Jiayuan’s collar naturally floated into Fu Chaoying’s mind.
A “top-tier” attraction in the lesbian community like Ye Jiayuan would naturally have many admirers.
As she thought, Fu Chaoying found herself unable to fall asleep for a long time.
Then, she heard the faint sound of a door closing, the sound of the main entrance being shut.
Fu Chaoying got out of bed, turned on the light, and walked out while yawning.
As soon as the lights flickered on, she saw Ye Jiayuan’s slippers sitting at the entryway.
Ye Jiayuan had gone out.
Fu Chaoying’s heart sank suddenly. She recalled the first night she had slept in the same bed as Ye Jiayuan.
She had received a call in the middle of the night, but she hadn’t left the house then, she had returned to the bedroom after hanging up.
But tonight was different.
Ye Jiayuan had gone out. Was it to handle an urgent company matter, or was she looking for someone?
Fu Chaoying’s eyes dimmed slightly.
