Xie Chouqiu had cornered Su Ren in the pantry because a lolita voice had been screaming in his head:

Xie Chouqiu wore a dark, sinister expression. Following the system’s settings, he pinned Su Ren against the wall. Su Ren met his gaze with a cold, indifferent stare.

Xie Chouqiu raised his hand high to deliver a slap, but his body’s most primal instinct stopped him once again.

Consequently, Su Ren only saw Xie Chouqiu’s broad palm land in front of his face, flattened out in the shape of “paper” from a game of rock paper scissors.

Su Ren was incredibly annoyed.

Since this scene was not in the original text, he assumed it was just more nonsense conjured up by Xie Chouqiu’s subconscious.

Given Xie Chouqiu’s current child like intelligence, Su Ren decided to react accordingly.

The “adult” Su Ren held up “scissors,” poking two fingers into Xie Chouqiu’s “paper.” He said irritably, “Fine, I won. Now get lost.”

Xie Chouqiu blinked. His large hand closed over Su Ren’s smaller one, wrapping his fingers into a tight grip.

Su Ren looked at him as if he were an idiot. He jerked his hand away in frustration. “You psychopath! Move out of the way, I have things to do!”

The two of them were standing very close.

Between their lips, there was barely enough space to insert a thin book.

Following the prompts of the lolita voice in his head, Xie Chouqiu said viciously, “You used to love me very much, at least you did yesterday.”

Su Ren paused for a moment. “But love fades.”

“Get lost!” Su Ren used all his strength, attempting to push Xie Chouqiu away.

But Xie Chouqiu was too tall and broad shouldered, nearly two sizes larger than Su Ren.

Due to the massive difference in their physiques, it felt as though Su Ren was trying to push a solid wall.

“When exactly are you going to cry?” Xie Chouqiu asked, his impatience becoming instinctive.

“Cry?” Su Ren asked, baffled. “Why would I cry?”

“I forbid you from going to the academic conference, yet you do not cry.

I bully you into grading assignments, yet you do not cry.

I want to cheat on you, and you do not cry.

I humiliate you in front of the students, and you still do not cry, Su Ren, if you do not cry soon, I will have no choice but to kiss you.”

Xie Chouqiu’s words were a jumbled mess, but when his gaze settled, he realized Su Ren’s eyes were rimmed with red. Crystal clear tears began to fall from the corners of his cool, thin eyes.

At that same moment, the lolita voice rang out in Xie Chouqiu’s mind again:

[Congratulations on completing the first main mission! The reward has been sent to Su Ren’s health account! This systemic treatment for chronic cervical spondylosis is top notch! Keep up the good work and keep grinding those missions!]

Xie Chouqiu felt a faint sense of relief, but as he looked at Su Ren’s tears again, he felt a complicated mix of emotions.

He had performed so many “scumbag” actions and none of them had made Su Ren cry, yet the moment Su Ren heard he was going to be kissed, he burst into tears.

Xie Chouqiu felt a bit piqued. What was he, some kind of monster?

In the next second, Xie Chouqiu’s kiss fell lightly on the corner of Su Ren’s eye like a dragonfly skimming the water. It was an act that was both overstepping and somehow fitting, full of both heartache and disdain:

“Fine, stop crying. You look hideous.”

While Xie Chouqiu had been irritably demanding a “cry,” Su Ren had finally figured out what Xie Chouqiu’s mission was.

He had obligingly shed a few tears, and while he was at it, he decided to complete his own mission as well.

The distance was just right.

The perfect distance to be kissed.

Su Ren lowered his eyes, knowing exactly how to cry to look his best.

When Xie Chouqiu’s kiss landed reservedly on the corner of his eye, Su Ren heard his own system notify him that his mission was complete. He sneered and shoved Xie Chouqiu away. Narrowing his beautiful eyes, he retorted sharply:

“If I am so hideous, why are you kissing me?”

Xie Chouqiu was stunned. Why was Su Ren being so fierce?

He stiffened his neck, feeling stifled. “I have a thing for ugly people, what is it to you?”

Xie Chouqiu: “He finally cried for me, but I scared him into it.”

The leads will work together to slowly take down the system.
