Chapter 3: The Devoted Stand-In is Coveted (3)
Wen Zhe’s filming had begun. His scenes were relatively heavy during the first two days, so he threw himself heart and soul into his work, not thinking about much else.
In the afternoon, the other actors had already finished for the day. While they were filming the final scene, Jiang Ke repeatedly failed to get his take right, dragging Wen Zhe along to film over and over again.
They needed the afterglow of the sunset right now. If they delayed any further, the light would be gone. The atmosphere on set was tense, and Jiang Ke was in a foul mood.
He was practiced at shifting blame. “Wen Zhe, what’s with that look on your face? Don’t you have any responsibility for the take failing? Are you even acting properly? Looking at you makes me lose my character.”
Wen Zhe looked at him calmly, smoothed his hem, and said with composure, “It seems like every time the director calls ‘cut,’ the problem is on your end.”
He could be submissive and low-profile in front of Jiang Han, but there was absolutely no need for it in front of others—even someone Jiang Han favored.
Jiang Ke’s chest heaved. Looking at this person who usually let himself be suppressed at the company, yet was now acting high and mighty, he sneered, “What do you have to be so proud of? You’re just playing the fourth male lead, do you really think you’re going to be famous? Don’t forget, this role of yours is just something I picked over and left behind.”
Wen Zhe looked at the director, then turned his gaze back to Jiang Ke, his face peaceful. “We are currently discussing how to get through this scene. The light is almost gone. There’s no need to waste time showing off about off-screen competition right now.”
As soon as he spoke, Jiang Ke was left speechless, his breath hitching. He wanted to argue, but if he continued, he would truly become the unreasonable person wasting everyone’s time.
Not far away, the director felt like rolling his eyes at Jiang Ke. Everyone on set was angry but didn’t dare speak up; who didn’t know this was the person Jiang Han was looking after? The director had no choice but to step forward to smooth things over and tell them to continue filming.
The makeup artist came over to touch up their makeup. When she stood in front of Wen Zhe, the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but curl upward. She had screamed in her head more than once: Wen Zhe was simply too suited for this role!
Right now, he was clad in a white robe, his silver hair cascading down like a waterfall. His entire being seemed to carry a soft, holy glow. With his calm expression, it was as if a high and mighty, cold-and-refined Master had stepped into reality. Since this look was revealed, everyone on the crew had been praising it for two days straight.
Even Jiang Ke became increasingly dissatisfied looking at him. His point of anger was somewhat related to Wen Zhe’s styling; he was constantly worried about being overshadowed while standing in front of him.
Seeing the makeup touch-up finished, the frustrated fire in Jiang Ke’s chest flared up again. He walked up to Wen Zhe and said acerbicly in a voice only the two of them could hear, “Actually, you’re very indignant deep down, aren’t you? This role of mine—Brother Jiang Han gave it to me just because he wanted to. You can only pick up what I don’t want. Don’t you get it yet? Brother Jiang Han doesn’t care about you at all. Your weight in his heart isn’t even a tenth of mine. If I were you, I’d have no face left to stay by his side.”
Wen Zhe’s feet paused. The reason Jiang Ke’s attitude toward him was so unscrupulous was, of course, a result of Jiang Han’s indulgence. Jiang Han’s dismissive attitude toward him led Jiang Ke to follow suit.
He didn’t want to waste energy on him, but Jiang Ke’s presence was like a fly—it didn’t bite, but it was disgusting. You wanted to ignore him, but his presence was very strong.
Jiang Ke thought his words had worked. He wanted to mess with Wen Zhe’s mindset before the shoot started; he wanted everyone to know that Wen Zhe was the bigger problem behind the delayed filming!
But to his surprise, when Wen Zhe looked at him, he wasn’t exasperated. Instead, there was a hint of contempt in his eyes. “Is ‘male competition’ the only thing in your brain?”
Having said that, Wen Zhe walked away, leaving Jiang Ke stunned in place. Once he reacted, he was entirely humiliated into a rage.
When filming resumed, the director sat behind the monitor. After a moment, he was so angry his teeth ached. What on earth was Jiang Ke acting!
Just as he was pinching the bridge of his nose to calm down, a staff member suddenly ran up to him. “Director Liu, President Ye is here.”
Director Liu was jolted. “President Ye!?”
He stood up immediately and hurried with the staff member to welcome him. President Ye was the biggest investor in this drama; he was someone who absolutely could not be offended.
As soon as he went out to meet him, he saw Ye Baihuai walking over. He was in a black suit, tall and straight, carrying an intimidating aura.
Director Liu immediately greeted him with a smile, saying flatteringly, “President Ye, you’ve arrived.”
Ye Baihuai gave an indifferent acknowledgment, then looked toward the filming site. His pitch-black eyes landed on the white figure in the distance, his gaze lingering on the narrow waist bound by a belt. “How much longer will they be filming?”
Director Liu shuddered. Looking at the two people still filming in the distance, cold sweat started to bead on his forehead. With Jiang Ke’s state today, it was eyesore material. “Soon… soon.”
Ye Baihuai didn’t say anything more, but even just standing there silently, he made people feel a heavy pressure.
Director Liu called “cut” to the other side. This scene ended up being a complete mess. “Today’s light is no good anymore. We’ll have to wait for good light to film this scene again.”
Hearing that work was over, everyone relaxed. Just as Wen Zhe was about to walk away, he felt his foot get tripped. Fortunately, his assistant stepped forward in time to support him, otherwise, he would have definitely fallen to the ground.
Wen Zhe looked at Jiang Ke, who had a playful grin. “Sorry oh, I didn’t do it on purpose.”
The director nearly fainted from anger. What time was it, and he was still playing petty tricks? He hurriedly stepped forward to lead the two of them over, warning them in a low voice, “President Ye is here.”
Wen Zhe looked forward and met Ye Baihuai’s pitch-black eyes. For no reason, his heart tightened, and he understood why the director was so nervous.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ke changed his tune completely, a well-behaved smile immediately appearing on his face. His eyes were naturally coquettish; the way he looked at Ye Baihuai now could practically be described as “eyes like silk.”
“This is President Ye, the biggest investor in our drama,” Director Liu introduced. He then introduced the two people beside him. “This is Jiang Ke, the second male lead, and this is Wen Zhe, the fourth male lead.”
“Hello, President Ye.” Jiang Ke reached out with a beaming smile, wanting to shake hands.
But in exchange, he was completely ignored. Ye Baihuai fixed his gaze on Wen Zhe’s face. “Are you adjusting well to the film crew?”
Wen Zhe was surprised for a moment, but then he thought: although they had only met a few times, he was Jiang Han’s friend after all. There was no need to pretend they didn’t know each other.
Wen Zhe nodded. “It’s alright.”
Hearing their conversation, the smile on Jiang Ke’s face froze. He was shocked that the two of them actually knew each other—this was Ye Baihuai of the Ye family, a titan in the business world…
Seeing that the two knew each other, Director Liu immediately became attentive. “So President Ye knows Wen Zhe! Wen Zhe’s performance in the drama is excellent, his acting is beyond words…”
“Would you do me the honor of having dinner together tonight?” Ye Baihuai said suddenly.
This time, Wen Zhe was truly surprised. Looking at the tall man before him, he couldn’t figure out the reason for a moment. The surrounding staff also began to whisper; it turned out Wen Zhe had a connection with their biggest sponsor, Ye Baihuai.
Jiang Ke, who had been treated as air the whole time, felt even more incredulous. He even felt a sense of humiliation from being ignored. Beside them, Director Liu quickly nudged Wen Zhe’s arm, urging him, “Our scenes for today are done. Wen Zhe, if you have nothing else to do, go ahead.”
Wen Zhe pursed his lips. Ye Baihuai spoke again. “Does Mr. Wen not want to go?”
Beside them, Jiang Ke made a “tsk” sound and couldn’t help but mutter, “Playing hard to get…”
Waiting for a response from Ye Baihuai was pressure-inducing. Of course Wen Zhe would agree; he just hadn’t figured out why yet. He smiled and said, “Of course, that would be great. But I’ll have to trouble President Ye to wait for me a moment; I have to remove my makeup and hair.”
As the biggest investor in the drama, when he issued an invitation to anyone on the crew, they naturally had no choice but to accept.
Back in the dressing room, Wen Zhe removed his makeup and hair and changed back into his own clothes. Usually, at this time, Jiang Ke would come over to make him uncomfortable, but having seen Ye Baihuai’s attitude toward him, he didn’t come over again.
A thought flashed through Wen Zhe’s mind: Could it be that Ye Baihuai saw Jiang Ke’s unfriendly attitude toward him and wanted to use his status to show off, so that he would have fewer troubles on set in the future? After all, he was Jiang Han’s lover; for the sake of Jiang Han’s face, it would just be a small favor for Ye Baihuai.
However, Ye Baihuai didn’t look like such a kind-hearted person…
After coming out, he got into Ye Baihuai’s car, a low-profile Maybach. The back seat was quite spacious, but with two grown men sitting together, the space suddenly felt compressed.
“I’m not very familiar with the area. Is there anything you want to eat?” Ye Baihuai asked.
The car was quiet. Ye Baihuai’s low voice was very pleasant. Wen Zhe didn’t push back much. “There’s a Western restaurant nearby, the taste is quite good.”
Ye Baihuai curled his lips. “Good, let’s go there.”
A faint, cold fragrance lingered in the car, which was calming to smell. it was similar to the scent on Ye Baihuai’s body. He felt as if Ye Baihuai’s gaze was clinging to his skin intentionally or unintentionally, which made him feel uneasy in the enclosed space.
Fortunately, that feeling disappeared once they arrived at the restaurant. The two sat opposite each other. “Would you like some red wine?”
“That would be good,” Wen Zhe smiled. The aura on Ye Baihuai was too cold; the atmosphere would be easier to relax if they drank a little.
He hadn’t had much contact with Ye Baihuai; right now, he felt the man wasn’t actually that unapproachable and was quite a gentleman.
Once the meal was served, the two chatted idly. Ye Baihuai asked, “Are you satisfied with your current role?”
“Yes, I’m quite satisfied,” Wen Zhe said.
“If you want to change roles, that is also possible,” Ye Baihuai said. “You can tell me.”
Wen Zhe paused in his movements and looked across in surprise. Ye Baihuai, however, didn’t seem to think much of it. His deep eyes looked at Wen Zhe. “It doesn’t matter, after all, you are Jiang Han’s…”
As he spoke, Ye Baihuai paused, as if unable to find a suitable term to describe Wen Zhe’s title in relation to Jiang Han.
Wen Zhe, however, raised his glass toward him. Their glasses clinked. “Thank you for your care, President Ye, but I actually quite like my current role.”
“That’s good then,” Ye Baihuai said. His gaze traced Wen Zhe’s face. “Wen Zhe, I’m very curious. Why are you willing to maintain that kind of relationship with Jiang Han?”
Wen Zhe froze, looking at the extraordinary man opposite him. He was also curious why he would ask such an offensive question. “Because… I like him,” Wen Zhe said.
“Like…” Ye Baihuai chewed on those words, his eyes darkening.
Wen Zhe felt the atmosphere grow strangely tense. Just as he was about to say something more, a waiter beside him accidentally knocked over a wine glass while pouring wine. The bright red liquid immediately stained the snow-white tablecloth. Wen Zhe raised his hand immediately, but unfortunately, his sleeve was already soaked red by the wine.
He was wearing a casual white shirt, so the wine on the sleeve was particularly eye-catching. Wine was dripping from the cuff. The waiter apologized repeatedly. Wen Zhe tried to calm his flustered, anxious mood. “It’s alright…”
As he was speaking, his hand was suddenly grabbed. Wen Zhe looked over to see Ye Baihuai reaching out. The man’s wrist was visible from his suit sleeve; one could see a powerful wrist and an expensive watch.
His hand was held in a large hand. Ye Baihuai used a tissue to wipe the wine for him. The man’s hand was too beautiful; the veins on the back of his hand were bulging right now, yet it didn’t affect the beauty at all. Instead, it carried a sense of power. The knuckles were distinct and long, so much so that Wen Zhe’s attention was on them for a while, and he didn’t realize how intimate their current action was.
When Wen Zhe came to his senses and wanted to pull his hand back, he couldn’t.
Ye Baihuai said, “It’ll be ready soon.”
Wen Zhe’s skin was fair and lustrous, with a cool, jade-like touch that made Ye Baihuai reluctant to let go. The tissue moved between the fingers, back and forth, wiping away the wine bit by bit. Then, he noticed a string of beads on Wen Zhe’s wrist. The youth was dressed in designer brands, making this very ordinary string of beads look particularly out of place.
He continued to wipe the wine stains off with the tissue. “Does this have a special meaning?”
Wen Zhe’s gaze landed on his own wrist. This string of beads was something he had sought from a temple. He had just graduated at the time, and his closest relative was seriously ill. He had gone to the temple in desperation, and then he met Jiang Han. Jiang Han had given him life-saving money at the time, so he always felt that this string of beads brought him luck.
Tracing the tracks of his “love” for Jiang Han, perhaps it had started then.
A gentle smile appeared on Wen Zhe’s face. “It brings me good luck.”
Coming back to his senses, he found Ye Baihuai staring at him without blinking, his pitch-black eyes growing deeper. His hand was still in the other’s, so he immediately pulled it back.
Ye Baihuai had been holding his hand, from palm to fingertips, until the smooth touch disappeared from his hand. He withdrew his hand and instinctively curled it to his nose; Wen Zhe’s scent still remained on it. He almost wanted to stick out his tongue and have a taste.
Wen Zhe felt a trace of strangeness in his heart. They had finished eating by now, so he thought they should leave.
Just before he could speak, he suddenly heard a familiar voice. “Baihuai?”
Wen Zhe instinctively turned around and saw Jiang Han. When the man fixed his eyes on him, he also paused. “Why are you here?”
Wen Zhe opened his mouth, but for a moment, he didn’t know how to answer. It was Ye Baihuai sitting opposite who spoke. “I went to inspect the film set and happened to run into him, so we had dinner together.”
Saying that, Ye Baihuai stood up. “We’ve just finished as well. Are you going to take Wen Zhe back?”
Jiang Han was still processing the information. He had been walking out after dinner with friends when he caught sight of this area out of the corner of his eye. Wen Zhe and Ye Baihuai sitting together alone for a meal was a scene he could never have imagined. He looked at Ye Baihuai. “En, I’ll take him back on the way.”
“Good, then I’ll head out first.” After saying that, Ye Baihuai walked away without looking back.
Jiang Han being able to take Wen Zhe back made Wen Zhe happy, of course; after all, Jiang Han was never generous with his thoughtfulness toward him.
In the car, Jiang Han and Wen Zhe sat in the back row. Jiang Han replied to a few messages before looking at Wen Zhe. “Ye Baihuai went over while you were filming?”
Wen Zhe gave an ‘En’. “Just as we were filming the last scene. We went together after work was over.”
“Why did Ye Baihuai treat you to dinner?” Jiang Han asked, his gaze falling on Wen Zhe’s refined face.
“He was probably doing it for your sake,” Wen Zhe said.
Jiang Han nodded slightly. He thought about how their contact had indeed been frequent recently, but having him treat Wen Zhe to dinner didn’t feel like something he would do.
Jiang Han’s fingers tapped on his leg one by one. The colorful lights and shadows outside the window flickered through his eyes. He asked, whether intentionally or unintentionally, “What do you think of Ye Baihuai?”
Wen Zhe looked at him. Jiang Han’s features were deep and three-dimensional. Looking at his profile now, his high nose and jawline were exceptionally superior. He didn’t know why Jiang Han would suddenly ask him this, so he answered truthfully: “A young talent, a gentleman with poise. He’s quite outstanding in all aspects.”
Hearing this, a trace of imperceptible displeasure flashed through Jiang Han’s heart, but he smiled on the surface. “Such a high evaluation?”
Wen Zhe said seriously, “To be able to stand at his height, he should be deserving of such a rating.”
A dark color flashed in Jiang Han’s eyes. Hearing praise for another man from Wen Zhe’s mouth really didn’t make him happy. “Such a high evaluation? Why? Is your heart fluttering?”
Wen Zhe was startled, hearing the mockery in the words. “No. Aren’t there many outstanding people like him around you?”
Jiang Han gave a cold snort. “I advise you not to have any ideas. The number of people throwing themselves at Ye Baihuai is countless. You should see yourself clearly sooner rather than later.”
Wen Zhe didn’t know why Jiang Han suddenly mocked him—he was the one who asked, yet it felt like he was just taking the chance to sneer at him.
Did he not know who he ‘liked’? He just didn’t dare say it anymore. Back when he was first kept by Jiang Han, he had crawled into his bed, wanting to be close to him, but he was kicked out. Jiang Han had pointed at his nose and said, “Don’t even dream of it.”
Perhaps from that moment on, Jiang Han treated him as a person who lacked self-respect and could be insulted at will. Jiang Han was moody; Wen Zhe didn’t know how to please him anymore.
As his feelings for him grew deeper, he had also confessed seriously, saying he liked him, but it only brought mockery in return. Jiang Han’s expression was arrogant, his eyes full of derision. “Are you even worthy? You’re just something I bought. Can’t you see your own position?”
However, after knowing that he liked him, Jiang Han seemed to have found something fun to play with, and would occasionally bring it up to mock him. But it was also from then on that he gave him more and more money and wasn’t as cold to him. It could be considered a blessing in disguise.
Perhaps after knowing that someone had given their heart, it was easier to control them and put his mind at ease. But it was also from then on that Wen Zhe never dared to express his ‘love’ again.
Looking at Wen Zhe, who seemed to be seriously contemplating, Jiang Han’s chest heaved for a moment. “Mute? Speak!”
Wen Zhe’s heart skipped a beat. Facing Jiang Han’s piercing gaze, he had to compromise. He ‘loved’ Jiang Han too much and was always afraid of losing him, so he was held tightly in his grasp.
Facing the angry person right now, he could only suppress the emotions in his heart and coax him softly in a compromising way, “No, I don’t have any other thoughts. Didn’t you say last time you wanted to eat my cooking? I’ll make it for you some day.”
Jiang Han’s face softened, but he said, “Who wants to eat it? Your cooking isn’t even as good as Auntie Liu’s.”
Filming proceeded as usual. His role didn’t have many scenes, so besides the first two days of joining the crew, his workload was among the lighter ones compared to other leads.
Jiang Ke might have been affected by Ye Baihuai; he hadn’t caused trouble for him in the past two days. So, the last few days on set were quite good. He didn’t have to revolve around the plot, and his whole being felt comfortable.
However, although he didn’t have to follow the plot, he still had to send messages to Jiang Han from time to time, asking and caring as usual. But the message interface was like a monologue; Jiang Han rarely replied to him.
After work, Wen Zhe sent a message to Jiang Han as usual, reminding him that it might rain tonight.
After sending it, he put away his phone. Just as he was about to walk out of the filming site, he was stopped by the director, who said the production team had organized a gathering and invited the whole crew to attend.
Wen Zhe didn’t want to be the exception, so he agreed. He went back to the hotel first to shower and change clothes. When it was almost time, he was about to head out.
Just as he was about to leave, a call came into his phone. He picked it up and saw it was Jiang Han. Wen Zhe answered, his voice carrying a hint of a smile, “Jiang Han.”
The other person gave an “En,” then said, “Didn’t you say you were going to cook for me? Come back now.”
Normally, Wen Zhe would have agreed immediately, but he had already promised the director to attend the gathering. While he hesitated, the voice on the other end grew low. “Unwilling?”
“No, it’s just that there’s a crew gathering later…” Wen Zhe said hesitantly.
Jiang Han’s voice became even colder. “Wen Zhe, you’re the one who begged to make it for me. Do you think I care?”
Wen Zhe knew Jiang Han was definitely angry, so he said somewhat flatteringly, “Then I’ll tell the director I’m not going. I’ll head back now.”
Having said that, Jiang Han hung up the phone. Wen Zhe looked at the screen which had gone dark and sighed, realizing why no one was willing to do the job of a “devoted backup.”
The assistant was driving. The road was a bit congested. By the time they reached the Jiang family villa, it was two hours later. It was completely dark, and a fine drizzle was falling in the sky.
After getting out of the car, Wen Zhe stretched his joints before entering the villa. He pushed the door open and saw Jiang Han coming out of the dining room. Their gazes met.
Wen Zhe still carried a dampness, his hair wet and clinging softly to his scalp. His face looked a bit tired, and he appeared somewhat disheveled. “What do you want to eat? I’ll go make it now.”
Wen Zhe bent down to change his shoes. Jiang Han looked him up and down, his lips slightly pursed, his voice indifferent. “I’ve already eaten.”
Wen Zhe was startled and looked up at him. Jiang Han immediately became impatient under his gaze. “By the time you came back, the day was over. Do you want me to starve to death?”
Wen Zhe felt a pang in his heart, experiencing once again how difficult it was to be a devoted backup. Fortunately, he could snap out of character instantly. “Sorry.”
Jiang Han’s brow was furrowed tightly, his heart feeling stifled for reasons he couldn’t name. “Hurry up and go back to your room to rest. Don’t stand here being an eyesore.”
Having said that, Jiang Han went upstairs. Wen Zhe also went upstairs. After returning to his room, he blew his hair dry and then sat in the chair in front of the desk to read the script.
Just as he was absorbed in memorizing his lines, there was a sudden knock on the door. “Come in.” The one who opened the door was Jiang Yan. He even brought a glass of hot water for him, steaming and with a faint ginger scent.
Seeing him, a smile appeared on Wen Zhe’s lips. “Not asleep yet?”
“Played games for a bit,” Jiang Yan said, then placed the water in front of Wen Zhe. “Drink it. It’s to drive away the cold. My brother is really something, calling you back so late.”
Wen Zhe laughed even more as he heard the boy sticking up for him again. “It’s nothing.”
He took a sip of the ginger water and immediately felt a warm current enter his stomach.
Jiang Yan sat beside him naturally, chatting with him about interesting things at school. The warm yellow light of the desk lamp reflected on the youth’s face, making it vivid and interesting.
“Brother Wen Zhe, is your shoulder uncomfortable?” Jiang Yan asked. As he spoke, he had already stood up and moved behind Wen Zhe, his hands kneading Wen Zhe’s shoulders.
Wen Zhe couldn’t help but chuckle. He didn’t expect Jiang Yan to be so observant and thoughtful. He had only stretched his shoulders and neck once, and the boy could see that he was uncomfortable and was now giving him a massage.
Wen Zhe patted his hand. “No need, you should rest too.”
But Jiang Yan didn’t stop. He lowered his head and said into Wen Zhe’s ear, “I’m not tired. Brother Wen Zhe, don’t talk and just enjoy.”
Wen Zhe obediently shut his mouth and closed his eyes to enjoy. Jiang Yan’s hands were very strong. When his fingers squeezed the flesh on the back of his neck, he could feel the rough calluses on his fingertips, likely caused by playing basketball often.
Jiang Yan saw Wen Zhe’s drooping eyelashes, which cast a shadow under his eyes. He lowered his head slightly and sniffed the strands of his hair.
His hands continued to knead the delicate neck flesh. Once the shoulders and neck were kneaded enough, he gripped both ends of Wen Zhe’s arms and lifted him up. “Brother Wen Zhe, lie down on the bed.”
Wen Zhe did as he was told in a daze. Jiang Yan’s technique was indeed comfortable; the areas he pressed felt tingly and itchy, and his shoulders and neck felt much more relaxed.
Jiang Yan continued to massage him, his legs spread and braced above Wen Zhe’s buttocks, almost sitting down. His hands massaged from the neck all the way to the waist, his fingers tracing the curve of the waist.
If it was just for Wen Zhe to relax at the beginning, things had already changed flavor by now. His fingertips brushed across the slender side of the waist over and over. He thought: no one knew better than he did exactly how thin Wen Zhe’s waist was.
By now, fine beads of sweat had appeared on Jiang Yan’s forehead, and his body was becoming increasingly hot. Right now, Wen Zhe showed a side profile, his eyes closed in an obedient manner. A soft sigh of comfortable surrender under his fingers escaped from his nose. His body felt more and more tingly, and he bit his lower lip hard to restrain his voice so as not to be laughed at by the youth.
Jiang Yan’s chest heaved repeatedly. Looking at those lips bitten red, he wished he could press his own onto them immediately. However, before he could expose himself, he stopped, moved aside, and said in a raspy voice, “Brother Wen Zhe, it’s done.”
Wen Zhe breathed a sigh of relief and then stood up. The experience just now was too comfortable. But when he looked at Jiang Yan, the boy wouldn’t meet his eyes, and his face was covered in sweat. He probably spent too much physical energy giving him a massage just now.
Jiang Yan was about to get off the bed, but Wen Zhe pulled him back. “Now you lie down, I’ll massage you.”
Jiang Yan was startled, his Adam’s apple bobbing for a moment, then he hurriedly said, “No need, Brother Wen Zhe. You should rest early.”
Wen Zhe thought the kid was just shy, so he pulled him over and made him lie down. “The massage just now was indeed comfortable. We can massage each other more in the future. School must be quite tiring for you too.”
As he spoke, he pressed his fingers onto Jiang Yan. From the neck to the lower back, Jiang Yan looked quite thin, but lying down, one could really feel how large his build was.
Finally, Wen Zhe simply leaned over him, imitating the massage technique Jiang Yan had used on him just now and replicating it on his body.
Jiang Yan hadn’t expected such a result. The soft touch on his back made his mind wander uncontrollably, and his body felt like a furnace. He should have called it a stop long ago, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it, reluctant to interrupt it himself.
But he was afraid that if this continued, things would develop in an unpredictable direction, and he might not be able to walk out of this room calmly…
“Brother Wen Zhe, okay, okay, I feel very comfortable now,” Jiang Yan said with difficulty.
Only then did Wen Zhe stop and move aside. “Good, then go back and rest early.”
After he spoke, Jiang Yan didn’t move. Wen Zhe asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?”
“It’ll be fine in a moment,” Jiang Yan said with restraint, the veins on his neck bulging.
“I felt your body was very hot just now,” Wen Zhe said, leaning in and touching his forehead. “Why is your body so hot?”
Wen Zhe felt it was strange. Seeing that Jiang Yan didn’t speak, he held his shoulder to turn him over. However, just as he was halfway through turning him, his gaze touched a certain spot. He immediately froze, then let go of Jiang Yan as if he had been struck by electricity.
For a moment, the air seemed to freeze. Jiang Yan didn’t feel ashamed; he was just afraid of scaring Wen Zhe. It wasn’t surprising at all that being close to him led to such a result.
Wen Zhe quickly came to his senses. As an adult, he naturally had the ability to handle things properly. “It’s alright, this is a normal phenomenon, nothing to be ashamed of.”
He tried to soothe the boy’s self-esteem. Young people are full of vigor, plus their bodies are more sensitive, so having such a reaction was perfectly normal; he understood completely.
“Your body is more sensitive at your age, so don’t overthink it. Everyone has embarrassing experiences like this,” Wen Zhe comforted patiently.
Meanwhile, Jiang Yan, listening to Wen Zhe’s soft and warm voice, only thought that if he could just pin him down right now and do him hard, would he make an even more comfortable sound than he did just now…?
Wen Zhe saw that he still wasn’t speaking and felt the boy’s self-esteem was too strong. He suddenly lowered his head close to his ear and said with a hint of a tease, “Don’t worry, I’ll keep it a secret.”
Jiang Yan was stunned for a moment, his eyes widening as he looked at Wen Zhe, his heart pounding wildly.
He probably wouldn’t be able to get up from here for a while.
