Take Away My Sickly Beauty [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 14
“Service Card: Use this card to exchange for one meticulous service from a staff member.”
At the bottom of the card, there were large characters written with sharp, bold strokes: One staff member, Ye Wuming.
Seeing this, Chen Jiyu pursed her lips, fighting back a smile. “Little President Ye” certainly had no shortage of quirky ideas.
Following the garden path further inward, she was blocked by a white wooden chair. Atop the chair sat a massive bouquet of white roses. Hidden amidst the fragrant petals was another card.
“Roadblock Card: Upon encountering this card, you must accept the item belonging to it, otherwise, there is no passage through this road~”
This time, Chen Jiyu truly couldn’t hold it back and let out a low laugh.
What kind of highway robbery was this for a flower delivery—forcing someone to take them?
And yet, she found it quite endearing.
Chen Jiyu picked up the giant bouquet of roses. As she leaned in to catch their scent, a long lock of hair fell from her temple. she raised her hand to tuck the disobedient strand back into place, inadvertently revealing slightly reddened ears and eyes brimming with shimmering warmth.
Ye Wuming, who was hiding nearby preparing the surprise, felt a jolt of electricity. The box in her hands hit the ground with a soft thud. Had it not been for the fence behind her catching her clothes, she would have already lunged forward to embrace her.
Coming to her senses, Ye Wuming abruptly turned her back and squatted down. She instinctively covered her lips with her hand, her face flushing so red it seemed steam might start rising.
Good heavens, how can my “Light” be so beautiful!
The tiny commotion Ye Wuming caused didn’t escape Chen Jiyu’s ears. She stared toward the sound through the flower wall for a long while, but because Ye Wuming was hidden so thoroughly behind the low hedge, she saw nothing.
However, not seeing the person didn’t mean she didn’t know where Ye Wuming was.
Chen Jiyu shook her head, clutching the flowers as she bypassed the chair and continued forward.
The garden path wasn’t narrow, and that white wooden chair didn’t actually take up much space. The significance of Ye Wuming setting up this “checkpoint” was merely to give Chen Jiyu the power of choice.
If Chen Jiyu hadn’t taken the roses, today’s entire arrangement would have simply been treated as a joke between friends. Chen Jiyu could have ignored the bouquet, walked around the chair, and found her. At that point, Ye Wuming would have activated “Plan B”—bringing out the prepared contracts to finalize the next collaborative project with the Chen Corporation.
But Jiyu had accepted the flowers!
Ye Wuming tightened her grip on the brocade box, her heart racing and her throat feeling parched. She closed her eyes, yet a bright, unstoppable smile climbed onto her lips.
She had bet correctly…
After rounding the white wooden chair, Chen Jiyu walked only a few steps before encountering a flower wall. On the wall, white roses were wound to form the characters for “Happy.” Right in the center of the “Happy” was a small, delicate box.
Chen Jiyu glanced at the box, guessing it might contain jewelry or something similar. However, when she opened it, she found… a key?
Beneath the key was a folded slip of thin paper. When unfolded, it read: The key to our future home.
“Who is ‘ours’ with you?” A hint of laughter, carrying a teasing tone, drifted through the garden. The lingering sound caused the person hidden deep in the flowers to turn her head in confusion.
She thought she heard Jiyu say something, but she couldn’t make it out.
Stowing the key in her pocket, Chen Jiyu passed through the flower wall and encountered a life-sized elf doll.
Was she supposed to carry this doll as she walked? A doll this large would be impossible to carry, wouldn’t it?
“Dear lady, did you drop this gold box, this silver box, or this iron box?” A pre-recorded version of Ye Wuming’s voice emitted from the doll.
As soon as the voice faded, a pedestal rose in front of the doll. Atop the pedestal were three transparent boxes, their edges painted with colorful handwriting.
The gold script read: “Relationship License!” The silver script read: “Engagement Ring.” The iron-grey script read: “Next Project Contract.”
On the bottom right corner of the silver box, there was proof of someone’s frantic excitement: “Pick me! Pick me, pick me!!”
“Dummy,” Chen Jiyu muttered, the smile never leaving her face.
To be honest, she truly found Little President Ye adorable. How did she come up with such cute, eccentric ideas?
In order not to disappoint the expectations of a certain “lovable ghost,” Chen Jiyu picked up the silver box and spoke out loud: “I dropped this silver box.”
She pronounced the words “silver box” clearly and with a lingering drawl. Ye Wuming pumped her fist in excitement.
As expected of my wife, she’s giving me so much face!
Opening the silver box, it contained not only two ladies’ diamond rings but also a pink “Sweep the Board” card. With this card, one could take all three boxes home.
Looking through the transparent boxes, she could see that the other two didn’t have cards inside. So, this was yet another test set up by that little brat.
Thinking this, Chen Jiyu suddenly narrowed her eyes. So, she had just skipped the dating phase with this “Golden Retriever” and stepped directly into the engagement period?
“Dear fiancée, please continue forward.” The sudden voice from the doll made Chen Jiyu speechless.
Excellent. Someone was already impatient to change the title.
Further ahead was the dining area Chen Jiyu had seen at the beginning. The white dining table, the items upon it, and the surrounding decorations created a very romantic atmosphere.
Near the flower wall by the dining area, someone couldn’t hide their “tail,” and a corner of a formal dress peeked out.
The white hem was embroidered with lilies in silver thread. The person who planned the date hadn’t told Chen Jiyu about this. If Chen Jiyu hadn’t coincidentally intended to agree to be with her today, she might have actually shown up in a black business suit. That would not have matched the current atmosphere at all.
Of course, Ye Wuming had thought of this too. That’s why she had put a service uniform over her gown. It made her look very much like a server provided one ignored her slightly long hem and the silver-white high heels on her feet.
“Beautiful lady, do you require any assistance?” An earnest entrance and a gentlemanly greeting.
Well, one had to admit, Chen Jiyu truly felt as if she had walked into a high-end restaurant. That is, if the “server” opposite her hadn’t suddenly looked up and frozen in shock.
Ye Wuming’s intention in wearing the server’s outfit was to match Chen Jiyu’s business suit. After all, if one person wore a magnificent gown while the other wore a suit to a date, it would be a bit awkward. But if it was framed as an interesting role-play scenario, that awkwardness would vanish.
But who could have guessed that her “fiancée” had changed into a gown at some unknown point!
Wearing the same white gown style, Chen Jiyu exuded the mature charm and elegant temperament of a sophisticated woman. By comparison, Ye Wuming really did look like the help!
“Cough, mistake. Let’s try again.” The mentally resilient Ye Wuming made a solemn exit.
Once she retreated to a place where Chen Jiyu couldn’t see her, she deflated and squatted down, holding her head and groaning silently.
Help! Did I just get counter-schemed by Jiyu on my own home turf?
Shouldn’t the normal process be her serving a beautiful meal as a waiter first, then transforming back into the host who had been waiting for a long time?
Wasn’t that supposed to be the surprise?
Save me! Why did my ‘fiancée’ steal my script and transform into the one attending the date first?
The woman waiting outside had no idea what Ye Wuming was agonizing over. She sipped her tea, her eyes curved like crescent moons. Behind her, an invisible fox tail swayed back and forth~
In the end, Little President Ye’s “cultivation level” was still just a bit too low.
