- Sweet Temptation: After Rebirth, The Campus Heartthrob Can’t Hide His Feelings Anymore
- Chapter 49 - Kiss, Kiss, Kiss You!
Xu Zhizhi was thoroughly drunk, staggering as she walked, occasionally spinning like a butterfly and spouting nonsense.
“Let me tell you something, the male-to-female ratio in our country is 4:1, which means one girl can have four boyfriends.”
“I’ll give you three of mine, so you’ll have seven in total. You can have three husbands and four concubines, with one assigned to pamper you each day, treating you like a queen, heeheehee~”
“As for me, I’ll just keep one for myself. Wait, wait… is one too few…”
Utter nonsense.
She was so drunk she’d lost her mind.
Cheng Xiaoxin couldn’t help but laugh. “Xu Zhizhi, stand still, stop moving around.”
“Mm, attention!” Xu Zhizhi immediately snapped into a military stance.
Cheng Xiaoxin asked, “One of the dance troupe members suddenly got injured. I need to go to an emergency meeting. Zhou Xuci will take you home, okay?”
Xu Zhizhi replied with full enthusiasm, “Roger that, Commander!”
She stood ramrod straight.
Cheng Xiaoxin reached out, gently smoothing Xu Zhizhi’s slightly messy hair and readjusting the small tiara clip to its original position, as if dressing up a doll.
Xu Zhizhi’s face was flushed, her gaze hazy, until a blurry figure gradually came into focus. “Wow, wow, wow! Xinxin, look, look, there’s a super handsome guy up ahead!”
Cheng Xiaoxin turned and saw Zhou Xuci approaching. She smiled at him and quickly handed Xu Zhizhi over to him.
After a few quick instructions, she hurried off.
She left decisively, without looking back, cleanly severing any lingering feelings she once had for Zhou Xuci.
Xu Zhizhi threw herself into Zhou Xuci’s arms, grinning from ear to ear. “Handsome, can I get your WeChat? I promise I’ll be good and won’t bother you.”
“How did you get this drunk?” Zhou Xuci held her with one arm while gently stroking her head with the other, frowning slightly in concern. “How’s your stomach handling this?”
She stood him up just to go drinking?
What was he supposed to do with her?
And her alcohol tolerance was terrible.
Last time, just one can of beer had her halfway drunk.
This time, she must have indulged even more, who knew how much she drank? She was nine-tenths gone.
The drunker she got, the more animated she became.
Perhaps the untamed, carefree side of her, usually hidden, was fully unleashed when she was drunk.
Xu Zhizhi couldn’t tell east from west anymore; the only thing left in her vision was Zhou Xuci’s slightly blurred face. “I’ll tell you a secret.”
Zhou Xuci’s eyes curved with amusement. “Okay.”
Xu Zhizhi grinned, her dimples deepening, and crooked a finger at him. “Come closer, I’ll whisper it.”
Zhou Xuci obediently lowered his head and leaned in.
“Hehehe.” Xu Zhizhi pressed her lips close to Zhou Xuci’s ear, her voice soft. “You look just like my crush!”
Zhou Xuci’s face was full of indulgent affection as he coaxed her, “Who’s your crush?”
Xu Zhizhi’s cheeks flushed pink. Shyly covering her mouth, she shook her head and said mischievously, “Hehe, I won’t tell you.”
“Alright.” Zhou Xuci gave in immediately, wrapping his arms around her as he murmured, “Let me take you home, little princess?”
She looked especially beautiful today.
Her hair was styled like a princess’s, adorned with a small tiara clip.
Pretty and captivating.
A true little princess.
“No going home.” Xu Zhizhi buried her face in the crook of Zhou Xuci’s neck, already making plans. “Let’s go to West Lake.”
“What are we going to do at West Lake?” Zhou Xuci asked.
Xu Zhizhi, tipsy and flushed, gazed at Zhou Xuci and pointed a wobbly finger at the sky, letting out a drunken hiccup. “Senior, the moonlight is so beautiful tonight.”
Zhou Xuci looked up at the pitch-black night, thick with clouds, there was no moon in sight. Yet, he didn’t want to dampen her spirits. “Alright, let’s go to West Lake for some fresh air.”
She had drunk quite a bit, her whole body radiating warmth. Despite the cold weather, beads of sweat dotted her forehead.
Delighted, Xu Zhizhi threw her arms around Zhou Xuci’s neck, nestling cozily against him. When she laughed, her eyes sparkled with a bright, charming light.
Even though she was the one drunk, her dazed demeanor seemed to intoxicate Zhou Xuci instead.
He was completely smitten.
Zhou Xuci took her to West Lake.
Xu Zhizhi was unusually talkative, chattering nonstop the whole way, spouting all sorts of nonsense.
Sitting on a bench by the lake, she squinted at Zhou Xuci and suddenly grew self-conscious. “Am I talking too much?”
“No,” Zhou Xuci replied, gently smoothing her wind-tousled bangs. “I love listening to you.”
Normally, she was quiet, preferring to hide in a corner, absorbed in her painting.
Like a little hedgehog, cautiously tucked away in her own world.
But drunk, it was as if a floodgate had opened, words poured out. They might be drunken ramblings, but they were also a way to relieve stress.
Getting tipsy once in a while wasn’t so bad.
“Oh, really?” Xu Zhizhi, like a kitten rewarded with a treat, immediately resumed her chatter. “You know, we’ve been practicing figure painting lately.”
She leaned in close to Zhou Xuci’s ear and whispered, “My classmates have been secretly hiring male models, they even asked me to split the cost.”
Zhou Xuci’s brows shot up, his smile stiffening slightly. “What?”
“They said since we’re painting figures with only a pair of underwear left, of course we should sketch male models with abs. It’s more inspiring to draw while looking at handsome guys,” Xu Zhizhi confessed without hesitation.
Zhou Xuci’s eyes darkened, his jaw tightening. “Xu Zhizhi, is that what you think too? Hmm?”
She giggled foolishly, nodding vigorously. “Of course!”
Zhou Xuci felt a pang in his chest, nearly grinding his molars in frustration.
“But!” Xu Zhizhi suddenly pivoted, her hands cupping his face as her eyes gleamed with mischief. “Zhou Xuci, I’d rather hire you.”
Instantly mollified, Zhou Xuci gazed at her tenderly, a smile tugging at his lips. “Oh? How so?”
Xu Zhizhi sighed dramatically. “But you look way too expensive.”
Zhou Xuci couldn’t hide his amusement. “Why don’t you name a price? I’ll give you a discount.”
She waved a hand dismissively. “Nah, not worth it. I’ll just stick to hiring a cafeteria uncle, they’re cheap and reliable. Only fifty bucks per session.”
Zhou Xuci nearly crumbled on the spot. Desperate, he bargained, “Fifty? I’ll do it for fifty.”
I’d slash my rates to the bone for you!
But Xu Zhizhi’s mind had already drifted again. She wrapped her arms around his neck. “Zhou Xuci, do you like my lipstick today?”
He lowered his gaze, his eyes lingering on her soft lips. “It’s beautiful.”
“They say this one doesn’t smudge,” she murmured, her eyes curving into adorable crescents. “Want to test it out?”
Suddenly, she leaned in, their eyes locked, breaths mingling.
At this moment, the tension between them reached its peak.
Zhou Xuci, slightly caught off guard, asked patiently, “How do you want to test it?”
Xu Zhizhi stammered, her face flushed, teasing Zhou Xuci, “Zhou Xuci said you wanted to.”
“Want.” Zhou Xuci had been trained well, obedient to her every word.
“So, how do you want to try…”
Suddenly, Xu Zhizhi wrapped her arms around Zhou Xuci’s neck and, before he could react, kissed him passionately.
Zhou Xuci froze, completely stunned.
The wind rustled through the branches, making them creak as they lost themselves in a fervent, lingering kiss…
