Superstar Assistant [GL] - Chapter 34
Chapter 34
Li Ziyu stood at the hotel room door, bracing it shut with her hand. “It’s so late, Tiantian needs to sleep. What are you still coming in for?”
Zhao Qing was wedged between the doorframe and the door, refusing to budge. She craned her neck to shout to Zhou Tiantian inside: “Tiantian! I’ve booked a separate presidential suite for you! You don’t have to live under someone else’s roof anymore! Come sleep in the presidential suite I got for you!”
Zhou Tiantian stood in the living room clutching a pillow, caught between laughter and tears. She gave Zhao Qing a helpful reminder: “Isn’t your ‘persona’ about to collapse?”
Zhao Qing froze for a second, realizing she had broken character. She gave a light huff, turned, and walked away.
Li Ziyu closed the door and walked over to Zhou Tiantian. “You’re the impressive one, hitting the nail right on the head regarding the plot.”
Zhou Tiantian breathed a sigh of relief, though her heart was still racing. “She’s getting a bit scary. If she finds out I was the one who planned and edited that video, will she stop sending me takeout?”
Li Ziyu reached out and ruffled Tiantian’s hair. “She wouldn’t dare. If she stops providing your three meals a day, we’ll team up and tell Dong Minsi that Zhao Qing is actually a ‘Bottom.’ We’ll see which of those two ‘Bottoms’ can manage to push the other down and be the ‘Top’!”
Tiantian shot Li Ziyu a look. “You’re being a bit wicked now.”
As Tiantian turned to go to the bathroom, Li Ziyu clung to her like glue. “How am I wicked? I’m helping them! You can see it too—Dong Minsi’s gentleness is all an act. She’s definitely the more ‘Alpha’ one. If she knew Zhao Qing was a ‘Bottom,’ she’d drop the sweet persona instantly, rush into Zhao Qing’s room, pin her to the bed authoritatively, and then…”
Tiantian turned and glared at her. “There’s a minor present! You aren’t allowed to say such things!”
Li Ziyu shut her mouth instantly, her eyes circling down to Tiantian’s belly. A roguish, rebellious smile played on her lips. “I won’t say it, fine. But you have to let me kiss the baby.”
Tiantian continued toward the bathroom. “No. Don’t even think about it.”
“Dong Minsi will pin Zhao Qing to the bed, then dominantly press her lips against Zhao Qing’s…” Li Ziyu slowed her speech, her tone full of provocation. It was a clear “R-rated” linguistic blackmail: if you don’t agree, I’ll narrate a whole adult scene.
Zhou Tiantian could only grit her teeth and look at her. Li Ziyu walked closer, her hand gently stroking Tiantian’s stomach. “Can’t I just kiss the baby once?”
Tiantian lowered her head slightly, the temperature of her face rising uncontrollably. She adopted an expression of silent consent.
Li Ziyu smiled triumphantly. She leaned down and planted a soft, gentle kiss on the corner of Zhou Tiantian’s lips.
Tiantian’s eyes flew open. She instinctively stumbled back a few steps, staring at Li Ziyu. “What are you doing!”
Li Ziyu chuckled softly. “Kissing my baby.”
Tiantian assumed she meant the baby in her womb and fell into a flustered silence, turning quickly into the bathroom. However, the heat in her cheeks wouldn’t dissipate.
…
Meanwhile, after leaving their room, Zhao Qing glanced at Dong Minsi’s door before returning to her own.
Inside, she let out a heavy sigh and thumped her chest. It felt sour and constricted, but she had no right to question Dong Minsi. She kept telling herself it was just promotion—that Dong Minsi and Li Ziyu were impossible because Li Ziyu already had Tiantian and the baby.
Dong Minsi, however, was in much better spirits. Having analyzed Zhao Qing’s reaction, she realized with delight that Zhao Qing seemed jealous of the “shipping” video. While she couldn’t be 100% sure it was out of romantic interest, the possibility was high. She happily told her assistant, “Zhou Tiantian’s video was very effective. Our company should put more effort into this.”
The “Private Whisper” (Si Yu) and “Rain Silk” (Yu Si) CP fanbases began to flourish. Since both actresses had strong auras, fans were locked in a fierce debate over who was the “Top” and who was the “Bottom.”
On set, Zhao Qing sat next to Zhou Tiantian, watching her scroll through smiling fan-edits. Zhao Qing felt a bit bitter. “Aren’t you even a little jealous?”
Tiantian looked at her, confused, then realized. She comforted her: “Don’t worry. They have CP fans, but everyone knows it’s just hype for the show. They won’t actually be together. Just relax; it’s just entertainment.”
Zhao Qing sighed. “I know that, but knowing isn’t the same as not caring.”
“Then…” Tiantian suggested, “Maybe don’t go online?”
Zhao Qing glared at her, then buried her face in Tiantian’s shoulder, whining like a spoiled child. “But as her pursuer, how can I not look at her? And those videos are so well-edited! Every time I put myself in Ziyu’s shoes, I find it so sweet yet so heartbreaking. I’m addicted!”
Tiantian had never seen the “cool” Zhao Qing act like this. “Are you… breaking character again?”
Zhao Qing reflexively sat up straight, her expression turning cold. Once she saw Minsi was busy filming, her spine slumped again. “Tiantian, what should I do? Why can’t they just clarify the rumors?”
Tiantian felt guilty, since she was the one who started the trend. “But fans are making their own content now. We can’t control it. Besides, wouldn’t it be weirder for two female stars to officially ‘clarify’ a lesbian dating rumor?”
Zhao Qing eventually gave up and went to prepare lunch, feeling dejected.
..
Li Ziyu’s fanbase grew rapidly, and new fans began visiting the set to catch a glimpse of her and Minsi. Tiantian greeted them with her signature sweet smile.
“Assistant Sister, go back and rest! Your belly is so big, don’t overwork yourself,” the fans urged.
Tiantian smiled. “I’m not tired, thank you. But Ziyu is filming and can’t come out right now.”
The fans were disappointed but handed over snacks and hot drinks. “Please give these to her!”
Two hours later, Li Ziyu finished filming. Seeing the fans waiting in the cold, she frowned. They excitedly rushed to give her more gifts.
Li Ziyu looked at them sternly. “I think you need to understand one thing.”
“What?” they asked breathlessly.
Li Ziyu gave a cold smirk. “I’m richer than you imagine. There’s nothing I can’t buy for myself. Stop giving me gifts.”
The girls’ faces turned red—not from embarrassment, but because they were overwhelmed by how “cool” she was!
Li Ziyu rolled her eyes and gave them a sharp look, her aura almost predatory. “If you want to show your support, go watch my shows and variety programs. Increase the view counts. That’s enough!”
The fans nodded frantically. “But what about these gifts we already bought?”
Li Ziyu impatiently took the gifts, grumbling “viciously,” “Don’t do it again. Tell the other fans, too. Why are people making a few thousand a month spending money on me?”
She handed the items to her assistant, Xiao Xu, and walked away with Tiantian. Behind them, the fans were stomping their feet in excitement.
“Oh my god! That was so hot! I think I’m in love!” “I’m going home to write a fanfic called My Idol is a Domineering Demon Queen!” “She’s so cool! Her Alpha energy is off the charts!”
Tiantian whispered to her, “Shouldn’t you be a bit more gentle with them? I’m afraid they’ll stop being fans if you’re too mean.”
Li Ziyu’s voice finally softened. “Why?”
“I’m just worried,” Tiantian said.
Li Ziyu patted Tiantian’s head. “Didn’t you see how excited they were? They clearly love this side of me.”
Tiantian was about to respond when Li Ziyu’s phone rang. To make it easier for her to answer, Tiantian took a large (but light) cardboard box from her.
Unknown to them, this moment—the star handing a heavy-looking box to her pregnant assistant—was captured by someone following them.
