Shou-Switching System Has Been Bound - Chapter 9
Chapter 9: Going Home
The popular roadside BBQ stall was already bustling by 8:00 PM. Qi Youli arrived 20 minutes early, a piece of gauze stuck to his forehead, looking quite convincing.
He was a regular here. The first thing the waiter asked upon seeing him was, “What happened to your head?”
“Accidentally took a spill.”
Qi Youli scanned for a seat and pointed to a table in the corner. “I’ll sit there today. I’m waiting for a friend. Bring me some boiled peanuts and edamame first, and a large draft beer.”
“Coming right up!”
Qi Youli immediately checked his phone. It was 7:45 PM. The “Uncle” hadn’t replied to him, and he wasn’t sure if the man would even show up.
He took a photo of the BBQ shop and sent it over.
I’m here.
After thinking for a moment, he added another message: The BBQ at this place is really delicious.
Liu Liu looked at the message: He’s actually trying to lure you over with food.
How despicable.
Liu Liu would accept the challenge!
Across the street, inside a car parked at the curb, Ji Lianyi adjusted his glasses and watched Qi Youli silently.
The waiter brought out the peanuts, edamame, and draft beer. Qi Youli took a large gulp of the beer, feeling an instant chill through his core refreshing!
8:00 PM arrived quickly, but the person Qi Youli was waiting for did not appear. His brow furrowed slightly, but he comforted himself internally: Maybe there’s a traffic jam, or maybe the Uncle is busy with work and left late. Anything under half an hour is acceptable.
Gulp, gulp. He drank more than half the glass.
He shelled a peanut and tossed it into his mouth. All the other tables were lively, but his was cold and lonely, as if he were drinking alone in sorrow. He looked quite pitiful, with not a single skewer on his table.
Half an hour passed in the blink of an eye. Qi Youli took a deep breath to suppress his temper. Since he had asked to apologize, it was possible the Uncle was being difficult on purpose making him wait for an hour was within reason.
He stopped eating the snacks and started playing games on his phone.
Two rounds of the game ended, and Qi Youli glanced at the time. He bolted upright. Holy cow, it was 10:00 PM.
He looked up, scanning his surroundings expectantly like a dog looking for its owner. He still didn’t see Ji Lianyi. The “puppy’s” head lowered bit by bit. Contrasted against the neighboring table of seven or eight people, he looked pitiful and aggrieved.
Ji Lianyi saw this but remained motionless.
A waiter passing by with a food delivery joked, “Did you get stood up?”
Qi Youli insisted stubbornly, “He’s a bit busy, he’ll be here in a while.”
He lowered his head and tapped away on his phone.
Ji Lianyi received another message: If you don’t come, I won’t leave.
The customers at the BBQ shop came and went, table by table. Bored, Qi Youli’s eyes began to close. When he opened them again, the table next to him was still drinking heatedly, yet he remained all alone.
He was dazed for a moment, then took out his phone to see it was 12:00 AM.
He snapped awake instantly.
Qi Youli had to admit that the bastard wasn’t coming. Truly heartless after “pulling teeth” not at all like the man who went out of his way to block him in his neighborhood the day before yesterday.
Moodily, he picked up his glass and downed the rest in one go.
“Sister Liang, give me another beer.” He slammed the glass down in frustration, muttering, “If you don’t come, fine. Who do you think you are? I’m practically begging…”
“Brother, don’t drink alone in sorrow. Want to join our table?”
The people at the next table had noticed him for a long time. Seeing him wait all night felt quite pitiful, so they warmly invited him over.
Qi Youli loved making friends. Since the Uncle wasn’t coming anyway, he wasn’t in the mood to eat and drink alone. He happily moved his chair and joined them.
He picked up the beer Sister Liang had brought over. “I’ll start with this one.”
He downed the large draft beer completely.
He was straightforward, and the people who invited him were happy. Several of them raised their glasses to join him.
He was smiling and just about to chat with them when a tall figure walked over from across the street. Long legs wrapped in black suit trousers brushed against the hem of a gray wool coat with every step, even the car headlights seemed to be providing him with a spotlight.
Qi Youli’s eyes turned into a camera, making every frame of Ji Lianyi walking over look like a poster.
He had to admit, this old man had some looks.
His gaze fell on the bruise on Ji Lianyi’s left cheekbone. If he hadn’t been the one who hit him, and if he didn’t know this Uncle was a pervert, just based on his temperament, one would truly suspect he was being bullied making people unconsciously want to cry out on his behalf.
Ji Lianyi arrived at the BBQ stall, skirted around that group of people, and sat down at Qi Youli’s original table, never giving Qi Youli a single glance.
Qi Youli’s pupils followed him constantly. With his gaze fixed and his body twisted around, he watched Ji Lianyi.
“Buddy, what are you looking at? Look at what you want to eat, let’s order more skewers.”
Qi Youli: “Ah?”
He turned back, only then remembering he had just run over to join their table. It felt like needles were in his seat, making him unable to sit still. “Sorry, my friend is here.”
His eyes kept darting back to Ji Lianyi, fearing the man would vanish into thin air.
The group found him quite likeable and didn’t want him to leave. “Call your friend over, the more the merrier.”
They turned and looked around. “Where’s your friend?”
Qi Youli glanced at Ji Lianyi. “No, no, I…”
He didn’t finish his sentence because Ji Lianyi tilted his head to look at him. Those light-colored eyes behind the lenses were icy cold. He suddenly didn’t know what to say, feeling an inexplicable sense that he had made a mistake…
Ji Lianyi: “Come here.”
Only then did the group realize Ji Lianyi was the person Qi Youli had been waiting for. They looked a bit surprised these two didn’t look like friends at all.
Qi Youli was stunned for a second before jumping up. “Hey, you guys enjoy. Boss, bring more food and drink to these brothers, it’s on me.”
He didn’t forget to pull a small card from his pocket and hand it to the person beside him. “My pool hall is nearby. Come visit sometime, I’ll give you a friend’s price.”
While talking, he returned to Ji Lianyi’s table. Now or never!
The Uncle must be the priority!
Qi Youli sat opposite Ji Lianyi with a nervous expression. Their legs bumped under the table, and he quickly moved away. “I thought you weren’t coming, Uncle.”
His tone was so natural it was as if they were truly close—as if the bruise on Ji Lianyi’s face wasn’t from his punch, and the wound on the back of his own neck wasn’t from Ji Lianyi’s bite.
“What are you eating, Uncle? I’ll go get some skewers.”
Qi Youli was very diligent.
“As you wish.”
Qi Youli walked away, looking back every few steps. He grabbed some items from the freezer, handed them to the waiter, and then took a glass to get some draft beer.
While pouring the beer, he secretly took a small paper packet from his pocket and poured the crushed sleeping pill powder into it.
He didn’t know the Uncle’s alcohol tolerance. If he couldn’t out-drink him, the plan couldn’t be carried out. It was more reliable to use drugs. It was just a little sleeping pill; it wasn’t the Uncle’s first time drinking it anyway.
He returned with two draft beers and placed one in front of Ji Lianyi.
When he sat down, his leg bumped Ji Lianyi’s again. There was no helping it; they both had long legs.
“Uncle, thank you for being willing to give me this chance to see me.”
Qi Youli looked guilt-ridden and raised his hand to touch the gauze on his forehead. “There was an accident last night. I almost died then.”
His tone was emotional. The hand touching the gauze shook twice before he lowered it.
With a look of recollection, he said, “Uncle, I’m not exaggerating. After I fell, my life started flashing before my eyes. In my twenty-two years, I’ve never done anything against my conscience, but when the flashes got to you…”
He lowered his head in shame, as if he couldn’t face him. “I realized how terrible I’ve been to you. I’m truly not human. I clearly did something bad to you, yet these past few days I kept provoking and hurting you!”
He snapped his head up, his eyes shimmering with the tears of regret and self-blame under the lights.
“I hope you can give me a chance to make it up to you. I will do my absolute best.”
The young face was incomparably sincere.
Liu Liu: If Ji Lianyi says he wants to f*ck you, how will you respond?
Ji Lianyi remained silent, quietly observing the emotionally charged “puppy.”
His silence made Qi Youli show a bit of a discouraged look, but he still forced a somewhat unnatural smile. The waiter brought the skewers over, and he took the chance to speak: “Uncle, you can think about it slowly. The skewers here are great, try some.”
He picked up his beer again. “Uncle, I toast to you.”
Ji Lianyi looked at his beer and reached out to take it, but after touching the glass, he didn’t pick it up for a long time.
Qi Youli was so anxious he was practically staring a hole through him.
Ji Lianyi traced the condensation on the glass. “Was sleeping with Xia Xu fun?”
Qi Youli’s expression froze. Ji Lianyi’s tone was so calm he doubted his own ears. “Wha… what?”
“Since you realize your mistake, you should face it with more honesty.”
“I asked you: was sleeping with Xia Xu fun?”
Ji Lianyi’s hand left the glass as he scrutinized Qi Youli.
Qi Youli looked awkward. He tried to see what purpose Ji Lianyi had in asking this question, but he could see nothing from that face.
A voice in his heart said: Since you want to know, I’ll tell you. I’ll piss you off! Making me wait so long… as long as you drink this glass, I can take you away.
“It… was okay, I guess.”
“What position do you like?”
Qi Youli’s eyelids flickered twice, his lashes fluttering.
Fck!*
Does this guy have a cuckold fetish?
He drank his own beer first. Along with the beer, he swallowed his intention to pretend to be remorseful to trick Ji Lianyi.
Was this pervert challenging him?
Thinking he wouldn’t dare say it? Looking down on him!
He put down his glass, squinted with a smile, and said clearly: “Cowgirl.”
Very provocative.
Moreover, his looks weren’t gentle to begin with.
“I like.”
“This position.”
He stared at Ji Lianyi, not wanting to miss a single change in expression. So what if I answered!
Ji Lianyi gave a slight nod and picked up the glass.
Qi Youli immediately became tense: Drink it, drink it, drink it.
Ji Lianyi took a sip and put the glass down.
Qi Youli: Tsk, drinking so elegantly. I really want to pry his mouth open and pour it in.
“Is Xia Xu’s mouth good to use?”
Qi Youli realized what he meant. “Not bad.”
His mindset now was: If you dare ask, I dare answer. I’ll answer until you’re so agitated you drink more.
So he added smugly, “I quite like it.”
A playful smile played at the corner of his mouth.
“What about you? Have you tasted him?”
“Of course not.”
Qi Youli was not the kind of “1” with a sense of service. His precious mouth would not touch that thing.
Ji Lianyi’s gaze fell on his M-shaped lips, which were shiny with beer.
He drank the rest of the beer.
Qi Youli pursed his lips to keep from laughing. He opened a bottle of beer and filled Ji Lianyi’s glass again. In his head, he was already setting off fireworks for himself~
“Since I’ve opened up to you, Uncle, let me say a few more things. Actually, I also want to try…”
He lowered his voice and said the word “Golden showers.”
He was just talking nonsense. He just wanted to see to what extent the other’s expression would break.
He couldn’t quite grasp this Uncle’s temper. You say he’s patient, but he came looking for him several times. You say he’s impatient, yet now he can sit here and listen to him say all this.
“Making the other person incontinent is also not bad. Don’t you think so, Uncle?”
Ji Lianyi picked up the glass and agreed with him, “I think it’s not bad.”
Half an hour later, Ji Lianyi’s eyelids were drooping, and he was drowsy.
Qi Youli put down his glass, walked over, and patted him. “Uncle?”
Ji Lianyi’s eyes were misty with alcohol as he looked at him dazed. “Hmm?”
Without a word, Qi Youli settled the bill. He pulled the man up roughly from the chair, grabbed Ji Lianyi’s arm, hoisted it over his shoulder, and led him toward home.
He lived right nearby.
The heart in his chest was pounding with excitement. He had finally caught his chance!
