Shocking! The Protagonist of the Mpreg Story Is a Straight Man - Chapter 15
The silk banner had been made at a small shop near his home. He had been so busy these past few weeks that he had completely forgotten about it.
Pei Nan hadn’t expected Xue Xingqi and the others to use this room as an office, let alone tidy it up so thoroughly. Now that he had the new banner, would he still be able to swap it out? Would it be too conspicuous?
He was lost in his own thoughts, unaware that Xue Xingqi was also studying him intently.
Pei Nan had already changed into his swimming gear, with only a bathrobe draped over the outside. His slender calves were exposed, glaringly white. The way he held his arms across his chest seemed to indicate a deep defensiveness; he even kept his face turned away, refusing to look at him head-on. Xue Xingqi glanced at his exposed, elegant neck and robust chest before averting his gaze.
“Pei Nan, come over and fill out this information. I’ll input it as you go.”
Xue Xingqi pulled a chair over for Pei Nan right next to himself and opened his laptop. Seeing this, Pei Nan muttered under his breath, “There’s no need to sit this close.”
“What did you say?” Xue Xingqi looked toward him.
Pei Nan shrugged. “I said, let’s just get it filled out quickly.”
The data collection process went smoothly. As soon as Pei Nan finished filling it out, he prepared to leave. Xue Xingqi had no reason to detain him further, so he could only watch as Pei Nan walked out the door.
The door shut with a clank. Xue Xingqi leaned back against his chair and let out a long, slow breath.
He thought that would be the end of it for the day, but to his surprise, Pei Nan returned as dinner time approached.
He watched as Pei Nan invited him to join the group for dinner with a look of utter reluctance. Xue Xingqi found it both amusing and a bit touching. “I’m not busy with anything else. Let’s go; don’t keep everyone waiting.”
Pei Nan was fully dressed now, unlike in the afternoon, but as Xue Xingqi looked at the fine physique hidden beneath the clothes, he still found it difficult to look away.
“The others left first. I’ll ride with you. We’re going to that buffet BBQ a bit further away,” Pei Nan said as he walked out. “Are you driving, or am I?”
Xue Xingqi’s car was in the stadium parking lot, while Pei Nan’s car would require a trip back to the dorms, which was a bit of a hassle.
Once he explained this, Xue Xingqi considerately suggested they take his car for convenience.
Sitting in the jet-black Hummer once again, Pei Nan felt an indescribable sense of strangeness. Objects that used to seem massive in his perception now felt significantly smaller. He even spotted a stack of unmailed “Missing Rabbit” flyers.
Xue Xingqi rarely spoke while driving, and Pei Nan, worried the conversation might turn toward the rabbit, remained silent as well. The atmosphere wavered between awkwardness and tranquility. The moment they arrived at their destination, Pei Nan was the first to hop out.
“What’s wrong? Is there something on my car seat?” Xue Xingqi joked.
Pei Nan coughed twice to cover his tracks. “No, I just really need to use the restroom. You go find them first.”
When young guys go to a buffet, they go with the sole intention of eating their money’s worth. By the time Xue Xingqi found the seats, the group had already surrounded a large island table that could just barely accommodate them all. Some limited-edition ingredients were starting to be served. Seeing Xue Xingqi arrive, Yang Fan quickly explained:
“Everyone got here early and was a bit hungry, so we started ordering and grilling first. You and Pei Nan can check today’s menu; their abalone and oysters are quite fresh, and the Wagyu is good too.”
As he spoke, he sat down in the spot next to Xue Xingqi.
Xue Xingqi looked at him, understanding his intent. When another girl tried to sit down on his other side, Xue Xingqi politely declined. “Sorry, Pei Nan is sitting here in a moment.”
Xue Xingqi’s rejection was as gentle as a spring breeze. Yang Fan watched from the side, unmoved, until Pei Nan approached. In that briefest of moments, Yang Fan saw a flash of wonder and joy in Xue Xingqi’s eyes.
Pei Nan still couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge Yang Fan and sat down naturally beside Xue Xingqi.
Yang Fan smiled cryptically at the interaction between the two, inwardly mocking Pei Nan for being quite popular. However, the more popular he was, the more interesting it became. If he could get a taste of Pei Nan before Xue Xingqi did, it would be far more satisfying than simply bagging a straight guy.
Pei Nan remained very sensitive to Yang Fan’s gaze. While Xue Xingqi was looking down at the grill, Pei Nan couldn’t help but flash his fist at Yang Fan. A look of anger lit up Pei Nan’s handsome face, a sight that only made Yang Fan even more unwilling to let go.
Nevertheless, he complied with Pei Nan’s silent dismissal and took his plates to a seat further away.
Xue Xingqi glanced inconspicuously at Yang Fan’s retreating back and seemingly coincidentally steered the conversation toward the upcoming qualifiers.
Xue Xingqi was truly a skilled conversationalist. As he ate, Pei Nan began to let his guard down. They talked about the qualifiers, their daily training, and eventually moved on to how they relaxed in their spare time. They were on the verge of finalizing a plan to go mountain climbing together.
Had he not seen “419” (the rabbit) napping on Xue Xingqi’s shoulder in his mind’s eye, he really would have agreed on the spot.
Stay calm, Pei Nan! You don’t want to wake up one morning having been screwed!
Xue Xingqi didn’t understand why Pei Nan’s expression suddenly changed. They had been talking so well, and the atmosphere was harmonious. For a moment, he even felt that Pei Nan wasn’t as “straight” as he had assumed or at least, not as resistant to being with a man as he thought.
“Is the timing inconvenient? We can wait until after your competition to go climbing.”
Pei Nan shook his head. “We’ll see. It’s getting colder, and the mountains will be bare. It’s not very interesting to climb then.”
After saying this, he picked up his drink and gulped it down, giving Xue Xingqi no chance to follow up.
The topic came to a dead halt. Pei Nan felt a bit awkward, and since he was quite full, he said he was going to step out for some fresh air.
Yang Fan had been watching Pei Nan’s movements the entire time. Seeing him head toward the restroom, he followed.
Though initiating a “straight guy’s awakening” in a restroom wasn’t exactly friendly, to Yang Fan, it was quite thrilling. He hadn’t played like this in a public place in a long time, let alone with Pei Nan’s admirer just outside. Every one of Yang Fan’s nerve cells was tingling with excitement.
He took out a prepared bottle of “Rush” (poppers) and circled behind Pei Nan, who was washing his hands. With practiced skill, he aimed the bottle at Pei Nan’s nostrils. Before Pei Nan could react and even as he gasped in shock the deed was done.
Pei Nan instantly became dazed. He struggled to brace his hands against the sink, but his limp, weakened body was out of control, sliding toward the floor. He couldn’t even lift his head; the only thing in his field of vision was a pair of shoes.
“It took effect so quickly. It seems the new formula works well.”
Yang Fan paced over, observing Pei Nan’s state. Upon seeing the reaction below, he let out a whistle. “Wow, you’re quite well-endowed, but it’s useless now.”
He raised his foot, intending to give it a nudge, but Pei Nan swung his hand and knocked it away. Caught off guard, Yang Fan stumbled. Once he regained his footing, he stared at Pei Nan with sinister eyes and snorted, “Won’t let me touch you now? In a bit, I’ll have you begging me.”
He bent down to haul up the flushed Pei Nan and led him toward the nearest stall.
