- He Transmigrated Into The Body Of A Demonic Sect Leader And Fell In Love With The Male Lead
- Chapter 7 - Annihilation
Lu Fenghuo pushed the door open and stepped inside.
It was a dilapidated woodshed, cluttered with all sorts of miscellaneous items, with a stack of split firewood piled against the back wall. Right in the middle of the room, the youth clad in sapphire-blue robes was tightly bound with thick ropes. Having gone without food for three full days, he looked listless and pale.
Not far from him, a bowl of lean pork porridge sat untouched on a small table.
Lu Fenghuo thought to himself that this young master certainly knew how to live. Even in his current predicament, he still had lean pork porridge provided for him and the luxury to throw tantrums.
Lu Fenghuo walked over.
Hearing footsteps, Xu Ziwei did not even lift his eyelids as he rasped out, “It is useless. No matter what you demonic scumbags say, I will not eat. Being captured by you lot simply means my martial arts were inferior. Do with me as you please; kill me or carve me up, I care not.”
Upon hearing these words, Lu Fenghuo drew the long saber from his waist. The blade was exceptionally sharp, roughly two fingers wide, and engraved with intricate, dark patterns that made it look remarkably ornate.
Hearing the sound of the blade sliding from its scabbard, Xu Ziwei snapped his eyes open.
Lu Fenghuo pressed the edge of the long saber against the youth’s neck. The icy blade rested directly against his delicate skin, and due to its extreme sharpness, it immediately drew a thin thread of blood.
“Will you eat or not?” Lu Fenghuo asked casually.
Cold sweat beaded on Xu Ziwei’s forehead, yet after a brief moment of hesitation, he chose not to bow his head to these wicked villains. Death was the worst that could happen, and it probably would not hurt too much. Besides, even if he died, his parents would avenge him, making it entirely worthwhile.
Xu Ziwei remained completely unyielding.
“Tsk.” Lu Fenghuo found himself out of options.
These youngsters were simply too hot-headed and unafraid of death; if they actually experienced death once, they would certainly regret it. But for now, there was truly no other way.
Lu Fenghuo stared down at Xu Ziwei.
Fairly speaking, Xu Ziwei possessed quite a handsome appearance. His long hair carried a faint wave, his face retained a slight hint of baby fat, and his almond-shaped eyes were stark black and white, exuding an air of untainted, otherworldly innocence.
Suddenly, a brilliant idea struck Lu Fenghuo.
He lowered the long saber, reached out to grab the youth’s chin instead, and forced him to look up. Sliding his fair, slender fingers across Xu Ziwei’s cheek, Lu Fenghuo leaned in close to the youth’s ear and whispered in a low voice, “Are you going to eat or not? If you keep refusing, you are going to starve to death. Seeing as your features are not bad and you count as a bit of a beauty, it would be rather a pity to let you starve like this. Perhaps I should drag you to my chambers before you die so we can have some fun together.”
Have some fun together.
The voice by his ear was clear and melodious, its tail-end lifting slightly like the crisp chiming of jade pendants, sounding unimaginably pleasant. Yet the moment he heard those words, Xu Ziwei’s face drained of all color.
This man actually wanted to drag him onto a bed?
Xu Ziwei shifted his gaze slightly to the side, bringing the face of the purple-robed man into view. The man could hardly be called ugly, possessing a somewhat demeanor, especially those peach-blossom eyes that held a hint of a teasing smile.
Being this close, Xu Ziwei noticed that the man’s pupils were not the ordinary shade of black, but an intensely deep, layered dark purple. Along the very edges of the pupils lingered a faint ring of pale blue.
Mysterious and striking.
Xu Ziwei had no idea what came over him. Staring into those striking peach-blossom eyes and recalling the aggressive words just spoken, his scalp began to tingle while a fiery blush surged across his cheeks.
Lu Fenghuo: ???
Was the guy terrified, or was he getting excited?
Lu Fenghuo could not figure it out.
Fortunately, after this episode, Xu Ziwei finally agreed to start eating his meals. Deciding not to dwell too much on the finer details, Lu Fenghuo turned around and walked out.
At noon, the demonic monk came looking for Lu Fenghuo.
Fu Yunming’s purpose was straightforward. Having spent two years inside the Dragon Chant Stronghold, he had gathered enough time to uncover various truths. For instance, the mysterious cult operating in the Jianghu was known as the Heartless Sect, and the Second Chieftain of the Dragon Chant Stronghold happened to be a member of that very sect.
Any further investigation yielded nothing. Since lingering in the Dragon Chant Stronghold any longer served no purpose, they might as well resort to brute force and see what else they could unearth.
When Fu Yunming spoke of brute force, he meant annihilating the Dragon Chant Stronghold.
Lu Fenghuo: …
Fine, that suited his temperament entirely.
The Dragon Chant Stronghold was nothing more than an evil cult anyway, its members stained with blood and wreaking havoc among innocent people. It was high time someone cleaned the place up.
A quarter of an hour later.
The Dragon Chant Stronghold was no more.
Though Fu Yunming failed to capture the Second Chieftain, he managed to retrieve a token from the man’s quarters. The token was pitch-black, engraved with a single character meaning heartless, and upon closer inspection, intricate wild rose patterns covered its entire surface, with twin crescents carved at the very bottom.
Twin crescents intertwined with wild roses, that was the signature emblem of the Mirror Moon Palace.
Lu Fenghuo, who had been contentedly watching the show the entire time, saw his smile freeze slightly.
He took the token and examined it closely. His fair, slender fingers stroked across the surface, the contrast of black and white making his hands look even more arresting.
“Heartless.”
Lu Fenghuo certainly had not forgotten that the original body’s owner was named Lu Jue. This token bore the unmistakable mark of the Mirror Moon Palace; no matter how one looked at it, the item was inextricably linked to his own sect.
Yet racking his brains to the utmost, Lu Fenghuo could recall no instance of the original owner ever possessing such a token, let alone the Dragon Chant Stronghold’s Second Chieftain. The original owner had no idea what was going on.
The token was a forgery.
Coupled with the demonic monk’s previous revelations.
There existed a mysterious cult operating in the shadows of the Jianghu, secretly expanding its influence while publicly flying the banner of the Mirror Moon Palace. Even the tokens they used to verify their identities bore the insignia of the Mirror Moon Palace.
No wonder the original owner, despite being a total homebody, had such a notorious reputation throughout the martial world. Aside from the Mirror Moon Palace already walking a murky line between righteousness and villainy, it turned out this massive cult had been splashing dirty water on them the entire time.
Perhaps he should let the people back at the Mirror Moon Palace investigate this matter; it would give them something productive to do and keep them from having too much idle time on their hands. With such thoughts in mind, Lu Fenghuo maintained an unperturbed expression on the surface as he handed the token back to Fu Yunming.
Neither of his companions detected any anomaly in Lu Fenghuo’s demeanor.
With the Dragon Chant Stronghold now wiped out, most of the ordinary foot soldiers had scattered and fled, unlikely to dare return anytime soon.
Thus, the second and third largest evil cults in Luoyang had both been eradicated.
Fu Yunming harbored a half-baked notion.
Lu Fenghuo shared a similarly half-baked notion.
Fu Yunming suggested, “Shall we…”
Lu Fenghuo finished, “Wipe out the top evil cult as well?”
Shen Yuansi: ?
Is eradicating cults something you can just do on a whim?
The top-ranked evil cult in Luoyang was known as the Omnipotent Stronghold. Unlike the other two factions, this stronghold boasted Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon levels of talent, housing numerous warriors featured on the prestigious Heaven Rank, making them famous throughout the Jianghu.
However, reality proved otherwise.
Eradicating cults was indeed as simple as that.
The renowned Omnipotent Stronghold lasted a mere half hour under the combined onslaught of Lu Fenghuo and Fu Yunming before collapsing into total ruin. The Heaven-ranked martial artists within the stronghold scattered in all directions, fleeing with the exact same panic as everyone else.
Shen Yuansi: …
Shen Yuansi once again questioned his view of reality.
He had long known Fu Yunming was formidable, the Blood-Sea Demonic Monk, ranking thirteenth in the martial arts world. Thus, even if Fu Yunming fought five opponents at once, Shen Yuansi would not have batted an eye.
Yet who was going to explain why his master could also fight five opponents simultaneously?
And these opponents were the five chieftains themselves.
Not only did he hold his ground without a single sign of disadvantage, but he even chatted and laughed casually while doing it!
Shen Yuansi had always known his master was powerful, but he never imagined he was this powerful. At this point, he figured his mental estimate of his master’s strength needed to be adjusted upward by a massive margin.
Roughly on par with Fu Yunming.
This realization inevitably forced Shen Yuansi to question Lu Fenghuo’s true identity. With a master this extraordinarily strong, it was statistically impossible for him to have remained completely unknown in the Jianghu for all these years.
Yet racking his brains further.
A purple-robed swordsman whose martial arts ranked among the absolute peak of the Jianghu, no matter how one analyzed it, only one person fit that description.
The Demonic Sect Leader.
Shen Yuansi knew his hypothesis was earth-shattering. Putting aside everything else, how could a grand demonic sect leader have so much leisure time on his hands, not only rescuing him on a whim but also lingering in the Dragon Chant Stronghold for nearly two full years?
Even so, Shen Yuansi ultimately refrained from dismissing the possibility entirely.
With such thoughts churning in his mind, Shen Yuansi kept his exterior impeccably calm, casually observing Lu Fenghuo out of the corner of his eye. He noticed that while his master’s face was completely ordinary, his hands possessed distinct, exquisitely sculpted knuckles, far too beautiful to match that plain, unremarkable visage. This strongly suggested that his master was likely wearing a disguise and possessed an extraordinary appearance underneath.
Just as Shen Yuansi prepared to observe more closely, Lu Fenghuo turned his head with acute sensitivity, a trace of suspicion in his gaze.
Startled, Shen Yuansi missed a beat of his heartbeat. Withdrawing his gaze now was too late, so he let his eyes drift slightly, pretending as though nothing had happened, and offered his master a radiant, innocent smile.
Fortunately, his master did not press the matter further.
Shen Yuansi exhaled in quiet relief.
Lu Fenghuo sat comfortably in the main hall. After he and the demonic monk cleared out the place, they unearthed a mountain of spoils including martial arts manuals, rare medicines, priceless treasures, and weapons. As for gold and silver bullion, there was no need to even mention it; the stash was practically limitless.
Piled high across the entire floor.
Lu Fenghuo nudged the items casually with the tip of his saber, feeling little interest. To be fair, the Omnipotent Stronghold was filthy rich and fully lived up to its title as the number one evil cult, but these items were still a tier too low to interest him.
Take this fist-technique manual, for instance.
It probably would not survive three rounds under his blade.
Or this meteor hammer.
It looked suspiciously like a knock-off, considering the authentic version belonged to one of the elders back at the Mirror Moon Palace.
Still, some of the manuals proved rather amusing. For instance, titles like Monkey Fishing for the Moon, Blast the Heavens, Become a Martial Arts Master in Three Days, Invincible Divine Fists, and so forth.
They looked utterly comical.
Yet opening the pages revealed genuine, high-grade martial arts theories beneficial for physical cultivation and combat training, even if Lu Fenghuo had no use for them.
Their tier was simply too low.
One particular manual, however, managed to catch Lu Fenghuo’s attention. Entitled Blooming Plum Blossoms, its contents were exactly as the name suggested: channeling internal energy into the palms and discharging it through a special technique to strike an enemy, leaving behind a dozen plum-blossom-shaped blood holes on the target’s body. The deeper the internal energy, the more devastating the power.
Lu Fenghuo casually practiced the technique and mastered it almost immediately.
Channeling his internal energy, he struck a wooden table with a single palm. Instantly, several plum blossom impressions bloomed across the yellowish-white wood. Amidst flying sawdust, the distinct shapes of the plum blossoms emerged clearly, looking surprisingly aesthetic.
Fu Yunming, who had been sorting through useful items nearby, paused at the sight, deciding that this fellow was far too childish.
Lu Fenghuo suggested, “Want to give it a try? You could probably use it on other things, like water.”
Fu Yunming remained silent.
He endured it once, endured it twice, and finally snatched the manual away.
He slammed a single palm onto the decorative cloth curtain hanging beside him.
Vivid crimson plum blossoms instantly burst into bloom across the blood-red fabric.
Shen Yuansi: Two childish idiots.
