She Said That Kisses and Hugs Are Needed for Redemption [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 17
Inside the dark and damp dungeon, the surroundings were nothing but cold stone walls. There were no windows; in the deep darkness, even the air entering one’s nose was wrapped in a biting chill.
Fu Lancen moved slightly, and a faint light flashed across her body. The Immortal-Binding Rope binding her tightened further, leaving several bright red marks on her slender arms. The scent of blood permeated the air.
Xia Xin held a long whip surging with dark patterns, pacing back and forth nearby without any sense of urgency. When she spoke, it was with cold intimidation: “My patience is limited. If you confess everything, I might consider giving you a quick death when I draw your blood.”
Fu Lancen let out two cold laughs, her eyes and brows filled with mockery. “You self-deprecating traitor. You abandoned Qingqiu and fell into the demonic path, yet you still dare to wander around the Nine Heavens. I see you truly have no fear of death!”
As her gaze fell upon Xia Xin’s face, which was covered in demonic patterns, her eyes filled with deep disdain. Her arrogant posture had not diminished in the slightest despite being imprisoned.
“You!” As expected, Xia Xin could not stand the provocation. Demonic energy thickened around her as she raised her long whip and lashed it fiercely toward Fu Lancen’s face. “You damned wench! Since you can’t recognize your own situation, I will help you sober up!”
The whip, laced with dense demonic energy, sliced through the air and appeared before Fu Lancen in the blink of an eye. She instinctively tilted her head to dodge, but the surging demonic energy still grazed her chin, leaving a terrifying wound. Blood rolled down from the cut, dripping onto her dust-stained white dress.
“Wait.” A calm, distant voice interrupted Xia Xin’s movements.
Shortly after, Bai Youran, dressed in a pale yellow gown, appeared in the dim dungeon with a noble air. She looked down at the battered Fu Lancen from a superior height, her gaze containing a hint of indifference as if looking at an ant.
After inspecting her for a long while, Bai Youran gave a light sneer. “Who would have thought, Sister, that there would come a day when you are crawling at my feet.”
Her voice was clear and melodious, with an upward inflection at the end. She still sounded like the little girl in Fu Lancen’s memory, but the words she spoke were utterly foreign; it was as if they had been mortal enemies from the beginning rather than sisters who grew up together.
Fu Lancen was not surprised at all. She looked coldly at the noble young woman who was slowly crouching down to meet her eyes. Enduring the pain in her body, she moved back slightly. “Sister, don’t tell me that in order to trample me under your feet, you have also colluded with the Demon Race.”
“What of the Demon Race? What of the God Race?” Bai Youran neither admitted nor denied it, her tone remaining as contemptuous as ever. “Sister, as long as it proves I am stronger than you, more suitable to marry Qi Ran, and more suitable to be the Goddess of Salvation, that is enough.”
“Goddess of Salvation?” This was the first time Fu Lancen had heard this title. She did not understand what Bai Youran meant, but her intuition told her it was important.
Seeing the confusion on Fu Lancen’s haggard face, Bai Youran’s mood brightened, and the corners of her mouth curled up with pleasure. “Sister, you really are pitiful. Even at this point, you still don’t know why you’ve ended up where you are today.”
Just as Fu Lancen thought Bai Youran was about to arrogantly reveal the hidden truth, she saw the girl cover her mouth with her fair hand. A bit of joy overflowed from her charming eyes. “What a pity. Since Sister doesn’t know, then it is best if you never find out.”
After flaunting her power, Bai Youran felt immensely satisfied. Mindful of the tasks remaining, she glanced at Xia Xin and gave her a look.
Receiving the command, Xia Xin nodded. After Bai Youran set up another barrier to isolate the space, she stepped forward. A sharp dagger slid into her palm. Ethereal black energy floated upon it like a savage beast baring its claws as it slowly approached Fu Lancen.
To be safe, Bai Youran intended to no longer keep Fu Lancen alive. This time, she would take all of her essence blood and refine her divine soul for her own use. Although doing it this way was not as beneficial as drawing blood bit by bit, she had no choice now to prevent others from finding Fu Lancen.
The sharp weapon tore through flesh. Blood gushed out, staining Fu Lancen’s white dress red. As Xia Xin performed a hand seal to draw out the essence blood, a blinding white light erupted from Fu Lancen’s brow. This was followed by a surge of divine power that struck Xia Xin before she could even react.
Taken completely off guard, Xia Xin spat out a mouthful of blood, fell from mid-air, and lost consciousness completely.
Startled by the sudden turn of events, Bai Youran froze for a moment. Thinking of something, she rushed over and grabbed the unconscious Fu Lancen. Dark demonic energy flew from her fingertips, tearing through space as she attempted to flee the scene with her sister.
But in the next instant, the void vanished. The surrounding atmosphere solidified as if time itself had paused; no one could escape.
A silver light flashed, and a faint, elegant fragrance filled the area around Bai Youran. She looked warily at the ethereal figure gradually manifesting before her.
“Who is it?” The unfamiliar aura told her that the newcomer was neither from Qingqiu nor the Heavenly Realm. However, she could not take any risks yet, so she changed her expression to one of extreme weakness. “Has someone come to save my sister and me?”
As soon as Lu Xi arrived, she heard Bai Youran’s weak and helpless voice. Seeing the affected woman holding the unconscious Fu Lancen in her arms, she knitted her brows. With a wave of her hand, she took the petite girl into her own arms.
Holding her gently and letting the girl’s head rest comfortably against her shoulder, Lu Xi looked up. She coldly eyed the woman who looked as though she had been blown to the ground by a gust of wind. “Are you the one pulling the strings and kidnapping Lancen?”
Then, out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at Xia Xin, who was lying on the other side. Seeing that there was not a trace of demonic energy left on her body, she sneered inwardly. Did they think that by erasing the demonic aura, she would not be able to do anything to them?
Fortunately, before arriving, she had privately notified Zhi Wu to come to the Heavenly Realm as quickly as possible. Judging by the time, Zhi Wu should be leading the people of the Heavenly Realm to this location very soon.
“Who are you?” Bai Youran remained in her soft and powerless state, appearing as though she understood nothing. She even showed a bit of fear when facing the cold-faced Lu Xi. “Are you not here to save us? Then what do you want to do?”
Noticing Bai Youran’s small movements, Lu Xi raised an eyebrow and questioned 001 in her mind, “I still cannot reveal my identity? I still have to act in front of this woman?”
She knew part of the plot, so she naturally knew Bai Youran was the mastermind. But now, constrained by 001, she could not let Bai Youran know who she was. Therefore, she had to feign ignorance while facing her.
001 chuckled. “You already know the answer, so why ask me? Hurry up and fool her; the next plot point is about to begin.”
