Seduced Me into a Deep Fall - Chapter 67
“Definitely. But I’ll need to check my schedule tomorrow at work.” Song Yi didn’t hesitate at all and immediately agreed to Ling Xi’s request.
“Ah, so can we meet tomorrow?” Ling Xi’s excitement made her completely forget about her friend’s matter.
“If you’re free and don’t mind being bored, you can come to work with me. If you have other plans—like driving lessons or English classes, we can have lunch or dinner together. I’ll pick you up.” Song Yi had already thought it through.
She really wanted to bring Ling Xi to the office but was worried Ling Xi might find it dull.
“I got my driver’s license last month. I’ll go to work with you tomorrow.” Ling Xi was actually quite curious about Song Yi’s work environment.
But then she caught Song Yi’s subtle glance and suddenly felt uncertain, hesitating to nod.
“You don’t even know yet, and you’re already in such a hurry.” Song Yi pulled Ling Xi into a hug. “Let’s go watch a movie. I’ll teach you in the theater.”
“Okay.” At first, Ling Xi felt a little awkward being held like this.
After a few steps, realizing no one was paying attention to them, she relaxed and snuggled closer to Song Yi.
Later, they got into Song Yi’s car, and Ling Xi leaned against her, still puzzled.
“Big sis, aren’t we going to the cinema in the mall?”
“That one has an IMAX screen. I went with a friend the other day—it was pretty good.”
Song Yi simply pulled out her phone and listed a bunch of movie titles for Ling Xi to choose from.
“What did you watch before? You must’ve seen most of the summer releases by now, right?”
“Mhm… yeah.” Ling Xi didn’t hide it from Song Yi.
“But last time was with friends. Now it’s with my girlfriend. It’ll definitely feel different.” Ling Xi even justified it to herself.
Song Yi chuckled. “I don’t like crowded places, so I’m taking you to my private screening room.”
“Ohhh…” Ling Xi replied instinctively before it clicked.
She was about to witness Song Yi’s “money power” again.
“The film collection belongs to a friend of mine. It’s very comprehensive—whatever you want to watch, we’ve got it.”
After dinner, Song Yi flipped through her schedule on the couch.
“If we’re inviting your friend for dinner, tomorrow or the day after works. Lunch isn’t possible—we’d have to wait until next weekend.”
Ling Xi finally processed Song Yi’s suggestion and broke into a smile.
“By the way, how do you think you did on the exams?”
“Probably okay. My family’s all here, and I don’t want to be too far from them. Even if the university isn’t top-tier, I’d rather stay in Beijing.”
After finishing her exams, Ling Xi had checked the answers and estimated her scores.
Overall, she performed as expected. Now, she just had to wait for the results on the 23rd.
“Big sis… can I just call you ‘big sis’?” After ordering, Ling Xi had more questions and cheerfully addressed Song Yi as “big sis.”
“Of course. Call me whatever you like.” Song Yi actually preferred the straightforward “big sis.”
“Big sis~ Does your family um, expect you to marry for alliances?” Ling Xi wasn’t familiar with real-life wealthy families.
But she’d read plenty of romance novels.
In those stories, powerful female leads always had troublesome arranged marriages to deal with.
They’d struggle between family obligations and their relationship with the main love interest, who’d often get furious over the arranged marriage and break things off.
Ling Xi thought that even if Song Yi really had it, she wouldn’t leave her because of that.
But if Song Yi couldn’t solve it, they wouldn’t be able to stay together either.
“Ouch…” Song Yi pretended to be hurt by the bite.
Ling Xi immediately let go. “Did it hurt?”
Song Yi blinked, her expression still looking a little pained.
Ling Xi quickly blew on the nonexistent bite mark she had left, then stroked and rubbed the spot.
“Sorry, sis, maybe I was too rough.” Ling Xi obediently lowered her head and apologized.
Like a guilty little puppy with drooping ears.
Her brows and eyes were both downturned.
“Actually…” Song Yi hooked Ling Xi’s collar, pulling her closer.
Only when their eyes met did Song Yi notice the faint glimmer of tears in Ling Xi’s gaze.
Unable to keep teasing her, Song Yi tilted her head slightly.
“It actually felt kind of nice.” She lowered her lashes, fingertips brushing over the slight redness.
Ling Xi froze for a moment.
“Not gonna bite me a few more times?” Song Yi even tilted her head to the side.
Her smooth neck still bore a faint silver sheen, with a tiny red mark the size of a grain of rice clinging to it.
It made Ling Xi’s teeth itch with the urge to bite again.
“But… if it hurts, isn’t that bad?” Ling Xi was nearly swayed by Song Yi’s coaxing.
She lowered her head, pressing against Song Yi’s shoulder, inhaling the lingering scent of shower gel from earlier.
Unable to resist, she nuzzled lightly.
Song Yi shivered at the ticklish sensation on her neck.
“You’re making it worse for me.”
The teasing didn’t quite reach her heart—it was like a veil, stirring Song Yi’s emotions.
At least a bite could be considered playful.
“Besides, pain is a feeling too.” Song Yi pressed close to Ling Xi’s ear, planting soft kisses along the way.
“If it’s from you, even pain is fine.”
Ling Xi felt like she was about to combust. “Sis, we just…”
“I’m just asking for another bite.” It wouldn’t hurt now, but it would when she was marked later.
Song Yi considered this practice.
“Didn’t you want to massage me with your mouth?” Song Yi lowered her voice, provoking Ling Xi.
Though she didn’t understand the logic,
Ling Xi obediently bit down on Song Yi’s shoulder.
But after one bite, she instinctively licked the red mark she’d left.
Song Yi trembled at the touch.
Ling Xi then began kissing her neck.
After lightly nibbling her earlobe, Ling Xi finally understood why Song Yi thought pain could be good.
But she didn’t linger soon, she returned to Song Yi’s lips, pressing against them.
Without any reason, the two kissed deeply.
Song Yi was pushed back as Ling Xi pressed forward, insatiable.
Tears welled at the corners of Song Yi’s eyes, and Ling Xi licked them away, leaving behind honey-like traces.
Hours passed in this kiss.
Only when their lips were numb did they finally pull apart.
Song Yi held Ling Xi, her hands trembling, her breathing still uneven.
Now she understood why people online said couples in the honeymoon phase should stock up on… supplies.
They really couldn’t keep their hands off each other.
Even with numb lips, it still wasn’t enough.
Ling Xi, nestled in her arms, was also breathing heavily.
“Sis… I love you so much.” Ling Xi nuzzled against her, whining softly. “I wanna go out shopping with you.”
“Let’s rest first. Where to?”
Ling Xi named a place.
They waited until the afternoon sun had softened before heading out.
In the car, Ling Xi found time to send a message to her family, updating them on her itinerary.
[“What were you two doing all morning? Were you at her place the whole time?”]
Lingyue, acting as the bridge between the younger and older generations, fired off a pointed question at Ling Xi.
A flicker of guilt flashed across Ling Xi’s face.
Even though Lingyue wasn’t physically present, she seemed to sense something from Ling Xi’s prolonged “typing” status.
“Who is it?” Song Yi, noticing her expression, casually asked, feeling a little curious.
The moment she spoke, she realized it sounded like she was checking up on her, and she wasn’t sure if she should press further.
Fortunately, Ling Xi had no shortage of things to share and didn’t find Song Yi’s question odd at all.
“My sister. She’s asking what we did this morning… How am I supposed to answer that?” Telling the truth was out of the question.
After some thought, Ling Xi typed out four words: Bonding time.
She even pulled Song Yi over for advice.
“We watched movies at your place yesterday—we can’t say we did the same thing again today, right?”
“Since you two talked about that last night, she’s probably curious about that kind of thing, right?” Song Yi, however, had already seen through Lingyue’s intentions.
“Then I definitely can’t tell her! I’m not ready to talk about this stuff with them yet.” Ling Xi had her pride and quickly sent a random sticker before locking her phone.
Song Yi had initially thought of suggesting she reply with “Slept,” but seeing Ling Xi’s reaction, she decided not to push it.
What they didn’t know was that after Ling Xi shared their destination in the family group chat, the three adults—who were very curious about Song Yi—quickly got ready and headed out together.
The family had decided to sneak a peek at the legendary Song Yi.
Their plan was simple: when Ling Xi was about to head home, they’d just happen to be there to pick her up.
Originally, they’d agreed to just take a quick look and leave.
Then they’d go for their own family meal—without Ling Xi, the little traitor who’d abandoned them for love.
“Found her yet? She posted on her social media that she was around here earlier.”
But after searching for a while, they still hadn’t managed to spot her.
“Nope… Mother’s intuition tells me she’s probably already moved on to the next place. I’ll check over there—you two go the opposite way.” Qi Zhen gave the order.
The three split up, only to arrive at each location just in time to miss them.
“This is weird. Is it because we’re inexperienced at this?” Lingyue was baffled and starting to feel tired.
At this rate, it’d be easier to just have Ling Xi bring Song Yi home properly.
“One more try.” Qi Zhen, however, was feeling competitive now.
She refused to believe she wouldn’t get one look at her future daughter-in-law.
……
Not far away, inside an antique shop, Song Yi subtly shifted to block what she sensed as an unfriendly gaze.
“Sweetheart, did you feel anything strange just now?” She leaned down, enveloping Ling Xi in her arms.
Song Yi was worried it might be one of the rival factions from the Song family.
“Nope. Hey, look at this!” Ling Xi picked out a pendant with the character “Song” from a pile of trinkets.
Song Yi took it, glanced at it, then fished out another one with “Ling” written on it.
“How about we get matching phone charms?” Ling Xi held up a small charm with a bow, placing it against Song Yi’s phone case.
“Your phone case is so plain—let’s go make a custom one later.”
“You can make these?” Song Yi wasn’t familiar with these kinds of activities, but she was more than happy to get matching couple items.
Ling Xi nodded. “I’ll take you!”
She then dragged Song Yi around to buy several more matching items before finally being satisfied and moving on to the next shop.
Song Yi was pulled out the door by Ling Xi and glanced around.
That faint sense of being watched had disappeared.
She tightened her grip on Ling Xi’s hand and quickened her pace to keep up.
On their way to make custom phone cases, Song Yi calculated how much she had spent on Ling Xi today.
When she realized that Ling Xi, with her collector-like habit of buying matching pairs of everything, had only cost her a little over a hundred yuan, a pang of defeat settled in Song Yi’s heart.
Ling Xi had even suggested splitting the bill. But Song Yi, using the excuse that Ling Xi was still a student, insisted on paying for everything today.
What do you do when your girlfriend is just too considerate?
After entering the DIY shop, Song Yi paid and asked the staff not to disturb them, then listened as Ling Xi explained the process.
She indulged in the youthful fun with Ling Xi. At least with Ling Xi around, it wasn’t boring.
Except the final product turned out a little ugly.
“Maybe we should just buy a pair instead,” Ling Xi said, staring at the lumpy blob of glue she had squeezed out, barely holding back her laughter.
“I think it looks nice,” Song Yi flipped it over and immediately swapped it onto her phone.
“It’s kind of ugly.”
“Not when it’s made with my girlfriend.” Tomorrow at work, she planned to show it off proudly.
“Now that you say that, it’s starting to grow on me.”
Ling Xi eyed the pink-and-white blob and no longer thought it looked like some unidentified creature.
Instead, it carried a bit of the unique charm that was so characteristic of Song Yi.
Ling Xi obediently switched her phone case too.
After leaving the shop, the two were about to head for dinner when Song Yi suddenly sensed something off again.
Frowning, she paused and waited.
“What’s wrong?” Ling Xi tilted her head, following Song Yi’s gaze.
Shielding Ling Xi, Song Yi moved toward the spot that felt suspicious.
Ling Xi was unnerved by Song Yi’s unusually serious demeanor.
But she didn’t hide behind Song Yi either—she just gripped her clothes tightly and stepped forward with her, even wanting to shield Song Yi in return.
Song Yi stared at the tall money tree for two seconds.
Then she pushed aside the leaves.
Behind it, she found three people hiding.
“……” Song Yi recognized the woman crouching at the front.
It was Ling Xi’s mother, whom she had just met yesterday.
By that logic, the young woman craning her neck behind her must be Ling Xi’s older sister.
And the middle-aged person holding up a fake leaf as cover was Ling Xi’s other mother.
“Mom? Sis? Mama? What are you all doing here?” Ling Xi gaped at the three figures sneaking around behind the tree, utterly shocked.
From the moment they entered the shopping district that afternoon, Song Yi had occasionally pulled her close and scanned their surroundings.
At first, Ling Xi thought it was just Song Yi being cautious due to her family background.
But earlier in the craft store, Song Yi had asked some strange questions, leaving Ling Xi tense the whole time.
Until now.
Turns out, the “something off” Song Yi had sensed came from her three idle family members.
Ling Xi couldn’t for the life of her figure out why her dear family was lurking around like this!
Had they been following her all afternoon?!
“Uh, we just happened to be here for dinner too,” Lingyue spoke up first, perfectly embodying the phrase “the more you explain, the more you expose yourself.”
The two mothers fell silent after hearing that.
Were they just digging themselves deeper?
“If you were here for dinner, why were you hiding behind a tree? Have you been following me? No—all afternoon?”
At first, Ling Xi had only been surprised, not upset.
But recalling how her family had inexplicably followed her all this way, Ling Xi suddenly couldn’t take it anymore.
Her temper flared up instantly, her tone sharpening.
“What were you thinking? Why would you do this?” By the time she finished speaking, Ling Xi’s voice carried a hint of tears.
“Not here,” Song Yi embraced her, stroking her head comfortingly.
“Since it’s mealtime anyway, let me treat you all to dinner.” Normally, Song Yi would feel nervous around Ling Xi’s family too.
But today’s incident was so absurd that she couldn’t even muster any nervousness, maintaining a composed demeanor as she took control of the situation with a single sentence.
Noticing the shift in her aura, the two mothers exchanged glances.
They hurried after their daughter who had already followed Song Yi.
Inside the private dining room, Ling Xi still held Song Yi’s hand, her lips pouting and eyes slightly red.
She still looked thoroughly wronged.
“You’re the younger one here—we should be treating you,” Ling Jingqiu glanced at her lovestruck daughter and sighed.
“On my first meeting with my girlfriend’s parents, I can’t possibly let you pay,” Song Yi met her future mother-in-law’s gaze steadily.
This was clearly testing her sincerity.
“Well, we didn’t mean to interrupt your date either. How about splitting the bill?” Ling Jingqiu smiled amiably.
“What splitting. After disturbing me like this, you should at least treat us!”
Ling Xi, the oblivious teammate, muttered under her breath.
Her face still wore that aggrieved expression.
“Sweetheart…” Qi Zhen looked at her naive, almost adorable daughter with mixed feelings.
Song Yi was clearly no simple character, while her precious girl had just turned adult, inexperienced—easy prey for someone with tactics.
“Then explain why you were following me,” Ling Xi grew even more upset hearing that “sweetheart.”
“If you wanted to meet her, couldn’t you just tell me? It’s not like we’re having some secret affair. You could’ve asked, I’d check her availability wasn’t that simple?”
Her words came between sniffles before she took a deep breath and leaned back into her chair.
Both mothers recognized Ling Xi’s anger now.
The last time she’d sat like this was when they’d mistaken her floor-arranged toys for trash and thrown them away.
That time, Ling Xi had locked herself crying in her room for hours, even yelling at attempts to comfort her. Not even Lingyue could enter to retrieve belongings.
Only after they’d rushed across half the city to replace every toy did she finally emerge—eyes swollen from crying.
Though older now and unlikely to cry as hard, her sulking was inevitable.
“They were just worried about you,” Song Yi intervened before the mothers could speak, stroking Ling Xi’s head.
Ling Xi sniffled, looking up at Song Yi.
“Be good, I understand too,” Song Yi added.
Instantly shifting the power dynamic away from the parents.
“But they shouldn’t have followed us like that,” Ling Xi insisted, still upset despite Song Yi’s reassurance.
“Without even telling me,” she grew angrier with each word.
“Enough now, sweetheart, order first,” Song Yi quickly redirected, pressing the menu into Ling Xi’s hands.
Ling Xi reluctantly accepted it.
Without another glance at her family.
Qi Zhen urgently locked eyes with Ling Jingqiu.
Lingyue had been standing by the entire time, not daring to get involved.
She was the one in the family who least dared to provoke Ling Xi in this state.
Currently at the very bottom of the food chain.
Ling Xi might not necessarily do anything to their two moms.
But if Lingyue tried to mediate or smooth things over, she would definitely get yelled at by Ling Xi.
And sure enough, as Ling Xi was ordering food and spotted a dish Lingyue was allergic to, she turned her frustration toward Lingyue.
“Lingyue! Why didn’t you stop them?” Ling Xi raised her voice while crossing out the dish.
“Uh!” Lingyue really wanted to say it was Qi Zhen’s idea.
Just as she was about to speak, the air around her suddenly turned cold.
Qi Zhen shot her a piercing look.
Then subtly held up a number with her fingers.
This was a bribe. Was Lingyue the kind of person who could be bribed? She was an adult with a job now.
Then Qi Zhen changed the 1 to a 5.
“I was just curious, you know? You know how I get random ideas sometimes.” Lingyue lowered her head meekly and held up a 7.
She was already speaking up for Qi Zhen—now Qi Zhen had no choice but to accept her price.
“You were the one bragging about how amazing your girlfriend is. I just wanted to secretly see how she treats you. What if, when you bring her home later, she’s too shy? Then I’d never get to see it!” Lingyue even got more excited as she spoke.
“I was just shipping you two!”
Lingyue broke into a cold sweat as she noticed her sister-in-law’s slightly stunned expression.
“Hmph.” Ling Xi snorted.
Lingyue ducked her head and shrank back.
“Even if it was your idea Mom, Mommy, you’re grown adults, couldn’t you have stopped her?” Ling Xi didn’t believe Lingyue was the mastermind.
In her eyes, Ling Jingqiu was far more sensible, the real culprit had to be Qi Zhen.
Ling Xi shot Qi Zhen a glare and let out another “hmph.”
Qi Zhen pinched Lingyue’s hand and lowered the 7 back down.
Since Ling Xi had seen through it, Lingyue wasn’t getting a single cent now.
“Yeah, Mom, why didn’t you stop me? Clearly, you also wanted to see your daughter-in-law.”
Lingyue got annoyed and threw her own mother under the bus too.
Ling Xi turned her gaze to Qi Zhen.
“And you even made me go check my sister’s social media.”
The corner of Ling Xi’s mouth curled up.
A smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “Mom.”
“Sweetheart! I was wrong.” Qi Zhen gave up on explaining.
She was the biggest child in the family, after all.
Ahem. “We were definitely in the wrong. So let us treat you to this meal.”
Ling Jingqiu, who had been silent for a while, finally found a chance to steer the conversation back.
“That’s more like it.” Ling Xi muttered.
Song Yi didn’t know what to say for a moment. With things having reached this point, she couldn’t keep pressing the issue.
At any rate, she’d have to find an opportunity to return the favor with a meal later.
She didn’t have family backing her—she had to represent her own household.
Even though they’d all be family soon, the proper etiquette before marriage couldn’t be ignored.
Ling Xi finally finished ordering and handed the menu to Song Yi. “Sis, see if there’s anything else you’d like to add?”
Song Yi took it and passed it toward Ling Jingqiu.
Despite how angry Ling Xi had been, Song Yi still felt that having a family like this was a blessing.
Far better than having blood relatives she had to constantly watch out for, always wary of their schemes.
“But Xiao Xi and I actually met last summer. I was in a pretty rough spot back then. She didn’t look down on me then, and I’d never abandon her now that I have money and status.”
Song Yi held Ling Xi’s hand and carefully explained the concerns both parents had been worrying about.
“And… the reason I’m competing for that position is because I like Xiao Xi.”
“This.” Ling Jingqiu was momentarily at a loss for words.
Qi Zhen didn’t seem quite as displeased as before.
“We’re very concerned. Our family isn’t wealthy—we just do our best to give our children a good life. Even if your feelings are genuine, the two of you grew up in completely different social classes. What if conflicts arise because of that later on?” Ling Jingqiu spoke pragmatically.
Marriage between families of equal status wasn’t just some outdated feudal expectation.
Often, it held very real significance.
“Besides, in your wealthy circles, you’ll meet plenty of impressive people. What if one day you get tired of our little sister and abandon her for some arranged marriage?” Qi Zhen was blunt.
Song Yi couldn’t immediately respond to the first concern, but Qi Zhen’s was simpler to address.
“If you’re worried, Xiaoxi and I can get engaged in advance.”
