Seduced Me into a Deep Fall - Chapter 61
Song Yi was momentarily stunned by Ling Xi’s words.
Meeting Ling Xi’s sparkling eyes, Song Yi finally snapped out of it. “Of course it counts.”
Wasn’t this exactly what it meant to latch onto a wealthy woman?
She took Ling Xi’s hand and pulled it to her own face, cradling it gently. “But it should be, you saved the wealthy woman.”
“Ling Xi, if I hadn’t met you, I wouldn’t have recovered so quickly.”
As she said this, Ling Xi’s hand rested on Song Yi’s cheek.
Feeling the warmth beneath her fingertips and catching the fleeting glimmer of tears in Song Yi’s eyes, Ling Xi’s heart trembled slightly.
“I was just being a friend. I didn’t do anything special.”
Ling Xi didn’t feel she deserved the title of “savior.”
“But it was precisely because of your companionship, your sincerity toward me, that I managed to pull myself out of that low point. That I found the strength to fight back.”
Song Yi released her hand, letting Ling Xi’s fingers slide slowly down her face.
Ling Xi’s ears gradually turned red.
Ah, this girl was just too adorable. After helping so much, she still couldn’t bring herself to take credit.
Song Yi couldn’t help but recall the blind dates her grandmother had arranged for her recently, those men had been nothing but greasy and greedy.
“So, Ling Xi, from now on, you can relax around me. Just be yourself, like before. We’re equals wealth doesn’t define our worth.”
All Song Yi wanted was for Ling Xi to feel comfortable enough to stay close.
She just didn’t want Ling Xi to be scared off by the difference in their backgrounds.
Ling Xi nodded. “I’m not after your money anyway.”
Her family wasn’t poor just comfortably middle-class. They weren’t financially free, but she’d never lacked for anything growing up.
“You could be, if you wanted. If we ever get married, half of it would be yours.” Song Yi couldn’t care less about material possessions.
What Ling Xi had given her emotionally was something no amount of money could repay.
She craved Ling Xi’s company, even if Ling Xi had ulterior motives, it wouldn’t matter.
But as it stood, Ling Xi was as pure as they came, just a kind-hearted, innocent girl.
What more could Song Yi possibly ask for?
“My rank isn’t high enough. I’m just here to supervise Yun Fengzhi. Since she’s here, it means you already know Ling Xi was exposed to the serum.” Tan Nianjun hesitated before speaking up.
“How did you know?”
Tan Nianjun shrugged. “Didn’t I tell you? I was entrusted by her mother to keep an eye on her specifically for this.”
[Our Yue isn’t a weak top??]
[A weak top will eventually get flipped. I want to see omega domming alpha!]
Seeing the two of them bickering among themselves, Ling Xi decided not to intervene.
But as she watched Song Yi about to leave, Ling Xi couldn’t bear it. She mustered all her strength to grab Song Yi’s hand.
Nearly tumbling off the bed in the process.
Song Yi caught her.
“You, do you really remember me?” Song Yi helped her back onto the bed, gently brushing away the sweat on her forehead and the tears at the corners of her eyes.
Her touch was feather-light, as though handling something fragile.
“Mm…” Ling Xi couldn’t speak. She could only manage a slight movement of her neck.
This place was even smaller than the villa room in her memories.
She had no idea what Song Yi had been through all this time.
Then Ling Xi noticed a photo frame on the desk in the study.
She shuffled over to look, it was a picture of Song Yi, Yun Fengzhi, and a few police officers.
A suspicion formed in Ling Xi’s mind.
Song Yi must have resigned as head of the family on purpose.
Don’t call me Ling Xi. Call me your little darling instead.
“Marriage?!” Ling Xi was startled by Song Yi’s words.
She thought she was already in a hurry.
Turns out Song Yi was even more eager than her.
“Ahem.” She’d accidentally revealed her true thoughts.
“If we’re going to date, I want it to be with marriage in mind. Do you think that’s okay?” Song Yi softened her voice.
Ling Xi froze for a second, mouth slightly open.
Then she lowered her head.
” I haven’t thought about it in detail yet. But, I really want to keep walking this path with you.”
Ling Xi didn’t even realize how much her words sounded like a confession.
Meanwhile, Song Yi felt her heart flutter.
Ling Xi then pressed a cold water bottle against her face. “Sis Song, I still have four years before I reach the legal marriage age.”
“I just, Ah, I got ahead of myself. It’s fine, I’ll wait for you to grow up.”
Song Yi wanted to backtrack, to say she hadn’t meant to bring up marriage so soon.
But halfway through, she decided against explaining.
How could she not have marriage in mind with Ling Xi?
Yet she also knew Ling Xi was still too young.
In the four years waiting for Ling Xi to turn 22, what if her feelings changed? What if someone better appeared by her side?
Too many uncertainties that’s why Song Yi was in such a rush.
“Don’t worry about that.” Song Yi winked at Ling Xi.
“I’ve climbed to this position. If I still don’t have the freedom to marry who I want, what kind of family head would I be? How would I be any different from those small-time CEOs managing subsidiaries?” She shrugged, unsurprised Ling Xi had asked.
For many from wealthy families, marriage was just a byproduct of interests they had no real choice in partners.
But Song Yi had reached the pinnacle of her family.
Who would dare force her into a marriage?
To her, interests could never outweigh the person she loved.
“That’s good.” Ling Xi relaxed completely.
After finishing their meal, Ling Xi happily held Song Yi’s hand as they strolled aimlessly through the mall.
That’s when Lingyue’s call came through.
“Sis?” Ling Xi answered, slightly puzzled.
Usually, when she went out with friends, Lingyue never called.
“What are you up to?” Lingyue’s question only deepened Ling Xi’s confusion.
“Is something wrong?” Ling Xi tossed the question back.
Song Yi stood beside her, equally curious.
This “sister” was she Ling Xi’s biological sister?
“Just checking in. You were all dolled up today were you on a date?”
Lingyue couldn’t hold back and blurted it out.
“…Sis, can you think of something more serious?” Ling Xi was speechless.
She’d thought Lingyue had something important to say.
“Come on, I’m curious! You’re an adult now, finished with college entrance exams, Mom wouldn’t say anything even if you were dating.”
Ling Xi wasn’t sure how to respond.
Her and Song Yi’s current dynamic was one where both clearly knew the other had feelings.
But Song Yi had said they should take time to understand each other better before labeling it as dating.
So whether today counted as a date, Ling Xi couldn’t say.
“I’ll tell you later! If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up.” Ling Xi quickly ended the call.
“Sorry for the wait, Sis Song.” She then linked arms with Song Yi, who had been patiently standing by.
“Your sister?” Song Yi feigned nonchalance, speaking casually.
“Yeah, my biological sister. There are two of us in the family.” Ling Xi thought for a moment, then added.
“I have two mothers, but both my sister and I were born to our omega mother.”
“I also have an older sister,” Song Yi said, feeling more at ease.
“But she’s much, much older than me, so we’re not very close.”
“She didn’t want to inherit the family leadership. She got married when I was still a child.”
Song Yi skipped over family matters and directly told Ling Xi about her sister.
“How much older is she than you?” Ling Xi asked, surprised.
“Over ten years. I was basically my mother’s late-life child.” Song Yi hadn’t really spoken to this sister in years.
“Her daughter is only a few years younger than you.”
Ling Xi was even more astonished now. “Are you really biological sisters?”
“Yes. She had children early. My mother had me late, so that’s how it ended up.”
Song Yi turned the question back to Ling Xi. “What about you? How much older is your sister?”
“It’s okay.” Song Yi wanted to kiss her but was afraid of making her feel worse, so she carefully stroked her head instead.
“I neglected your situation. I forgot to prepare what was needed.”
At the very least, they should have had suppressants ready before they kissed.
“You don’t hate me?” Ling Xi’s voice was weak.
She clutched Song Yi’s collar tightly, forcing herself not to look at the back of her neck.
“How could I? And I’m the one who should apologize.” Song Yi held Ling Xi’s head gently.
“I was the one who went into heat first, dragging you into this sensitivity. I also forgot you just presented, your glands aren’t stable yet and can’t handle too much stimulation, otherwise you’d become sensitive.”
“If it’s too much, bite my shoulder. Consider it my punishment.” Song Yi tried not to make the offer sound strange.
Ling Xi didn’t overthink it. “I don’t want to punish you.”
She obediently bit down lightly. “But I can’t hold back much longer.”
Biting the shoulder was a kind of substitute.
Song Yi didn’t make a sound. Ling Xi didn’t use much force either.
Five minutes later, the suppressants arrived. Song Yi carefully administered them to Ling Xi.
“My sister is seven years older than me. When she was in elementary school, she said she wanted a little sister, and since Mom and Mama wanted another child, I was born.”
“Your family must be very harmonious?” It sounded like a happy household. Song Yi sighed inwardly.
Her own family had been problematic from the start.
Her mother had poor judgment, and the age gap between her and her sister was too large.
Her sister had taken care of her for a while when they were younger, but after her sister married, they grew apart.
She was starting to lose control.
And Ling Xi was struggling just as much.
It would have been easier if she didn’t know Song Yi liked her back.
But now that she did, how could she possibly be patient?
After dragging Song Yi out to buy bubble tea, they sat in the shop. Ling Xi couldn’t wait any longer and hooked her fingers around Song Yi’s hand.
“Jiejie, dear jiejie, won’t you say yes?”
“Say yes… to what?” Song Yi had just inserted the straw.
“To going out with me.” Ling Xi’s eyes held the brilliance of a summer night’s stars, spilling over Song Yi and making it impossible to refuse.
She couldn’t even shake her head.
“I like you, Song Yi jiejie.” Ling Xi tugged lightly at Song Yi’s sleeve.
“You like me too, right?”
Ling Xi’s face was flushed, the tips of her fingers gripping Song Yi’s sleeve were red too, trembling slightly.
“Whatever we need to adjust or learn about each other can’t we figure it out after we start dating?”
Song Yi thought she probably couldn’t hold onto her principles any longer.
After two whole summers apart, she was undoubtedly more eager than Ling Xi.
She never imagined they’d start dating right on the first day of their reunion.
But Ling Xi pleaded with her so earnestly, how could she resist?
“I still wanted to confess properly,” Song Yi lamented, nearly in tears.
“What do we do now, little girlfriend? No gifts, no flowers, no rings or cake. We just jumped straight into confessing and dating.”
The confession she had envisioned was supposed to be in a romantic setting, with soft music playing, where she’d present carefully prepared props to Ling Xi.
Only then would she say those three words: “I love you.”
“Big sis, isn’t that more like a proposal?” Ling Xi couldn’t help but laugh at the term “little girlfriend,” and after hearing Song Yi’s description, she burst out laughing outright.
