Seduced Me into a Deep Fall - Chapter 27
“Are you going out for a drink?” Ling Xi saw Song Yi standing frozen in place and took two steps forward, noticing the exhaustion in her eyes.
“Something like that.” Song Yi hadn’t expected to run into Ling Xi here.
Though she hadn’t actually planned to disturb Ling Xi’s rest in the middle of the night.
At most, she’d sneak in for a quick glance.
“Couldn’t sleep?”
Song Yi shook her head. “What about you?”
She wasn’t the inexperienced, clueless alpha she used to be anymore.
She had unexpectedly tasted that sensation before.
Now, the lingering memory of it spread through her body, making her want to act on the omega before her so obedient, so attached to her.
“Song Yi…” She wanted to use a more intimate term.
Just like how Song Yi was calling her “darling” right now.
“What is it, darling?” Song Yi was already half-wrapped around Ling Xi.
Almost melting into her, their thin sleepwear barely a barrier.
“Do you like me?” Song Yi guided Ling Xi down as she spoke.
She lay atop Ling Xi, her lips breaking through the omega’s last line of defense.
“Darling, you have to like me.” She nipped at Ling Xi’s lips, already strained with restraint.
Her hand slid behind Ling Xi’s neck, deliberately or perhaps not—stimulating her scent gland.
“Can you love me a little more?” Song Yi’s movements didn’t seem the least bit intoxicated.
If Ling X had any rationality left, she might have noticed something was off.
But she was already drunk on the sweet fragrance of bergamot. Forget thinking—even her movements had slowed.
With her scent gland being teased like this.
How could she possibly hold onto even a shred of reason?
Ling Xi exhaled sharply, scooping up the fox-like woman clinging to her soft as if boneless and biting down on those restless lips.
“Awake now? Why aren’t you sleeping? Drinking to sleep isn’t a good habit.”
Ling Xi had meant to stop Song Yi from drinking again.
“Can’t sleep,” Song Yi murmured.
Ling Xi was close enough to catch the soothing scent of sandalwood, suddenly remembering its sleep-inducing properties.
“Still, you shouldn’t drink. Staying up late is bad enough for your health adding alcohol will just wreck you.”
Ling Xi wracked her brain for the sleep remedies her mother had taught her.
“Have you tried meditation?”
“Tried. Didn’t work well.” Closing her eyes only brought her back to the days when she still lived in the Song family ancestral home.
That was why Song Yi struggled with insomnia so often.
Logically, Ling Xi was the alpha.
Words like these shouldn’t have come from Song Yi.
Yet hearing them, Ling Xi actually relaxed a little.
“Do you really want me to sleep with you?” She fiddled with the hem of her clothes, still hesitant.
“What if I disturb you after you’ve fallen asleep?” Ling Xi wasn’t entirely sure about her own sleeping habits.
The night stripped away Song Yi’s usual facade, leaving only her truest, most vulnerable self.
She laid this self bare before Ling Xi without reservation.
So fragile—her eyes glistening with exhaustion, like shattered stars.
And yet so mesmerizing.
Ling Xi couldn’t tear her gaze away from Song Yi.
She didn’t understand why she was so unwilling to look elsewhere.
Staring at Song Yi like this would only make it harder for her to sleep, wouldn’t it?
No matter how hard she tried, Ling Xi could only blink.
And when she opened her eyes again, Song Yi was still there.
Too beautiful to be real. Ling Xi wondered if she was hallucinating, if this goddess-like woman asking to take her back to her room, claiming she could only sleep with her company, was just a midnight illusion.
Was there some deeper meaning to these words?
Was it some kind of invitation, some silent, confession?
“You’ll sleep well tonight,” Ling Xi couldn’t help saying.
“Well then, I’ll take your word for it,” Song Yi smiled.
With Ling Xi here, she was bound to sleep soundly.
She might even be late for work tomorrow.
About two minutes later, listening to the even breathing beside her, Song Yi gradually grew drowsy too.
She took one last look at the peacefully sleeping Ling Xi before closing her eyes.
This time, there was no pain or fear in her dreams.
Only a long summer, a girl sneaking over the wall, leaning against another girl’s shoulder, listening to the rustle of wind through the treetops.
Tan Nijing frowned upon hearing that license plate number.
She’d been gathering gossip about Beijing’s elite circles from Yun Fengzhi these past two days.
Even someone merely called “Little Princess” Mu Xie could force Ling Xi to sever ties with close friends and become engaged to someone she disliked.
What kind of benevolent character could someone with that license plate number possibly be?
At the very least, they’d have to be an heir. Such a person approaching Ling Xi surely didn’t have good intentions.
Meanwhile, Song Yi, whom they viewed as having ulterior motives, was currently leaning over Ling Xi, one hand resting on her collarbone, fingers lightly tracing the curve of Ling Xi’s neck.
Ling Xi held her breath, enduring the feather-light tickling sensation, trying not to let Song Yi touch her too much.
This all started when Ling Xi got in the car.
“What should we eat?” Noticing Ling Xi walking faster than usual, Song Yi raised an eyebrow but temporarily suppressed her questions.
“I bought ingredients, was planning to cook myself,” Ling Xi moved slightly closer to Song Yi.
She didn’t even realize it herself every day, she was inching closer to Song Yi.
“Then we can eat together. Are you sure you don’t want the cook to prepare something? Just an extra set of bowls,” Song Yi didn’t insist, putting her phone down.
Ling Xi had a dream.
She dreamed of summer vacation during her second year of high school.
Her sister and mother were unusually busy, and her mother was away on business.
Alone at home and bored, Ling Xi tossed aside her homework and went out wandering.
She seemed to meet many people. In the dream, none had clear faces.
Finally, near a building that looked like a historical relic, she caught a girl falling from a tree.
That girl was so thin, so light she didn’t even break Ling Xi’s bones.
Clearly older, yet still looking like a child.
Covered in wounds, obvious signs of prolonged inhuman abuse.
Only her eyes, like a phoenix’s, shone with the light of eventual rebirth.
The dream ended there.
Ling Xi slowly opened her eyes, a tear slipping out.
She couldn’t remember more.
Only that she seemed to have forgotten many things.
That summer. The precious memories with that girl.
Back then, Ling Xi had felt nothing, even drawing a line for herself, not caring what those around her did.
Only Song Yi.
She only wanted to hold Song Yi, only wanted to sleep, eat, watch shows with Song Yi anything would do.
She seemed to really enjoy being with Song Yi.
Still half-asleep, Ling Xi looked down at Song Yi’s peaceful sleeping face and couldn’t help feeling giddy.
After watching quietly for several minutes, seeing Song Yi still asleep, she let her gaze linger openly on Song Yi’s face.
How could someone’s features be so perfect? Full where they should be, with smooth, flowing lines.
Both in proportion and exquisite detail, it was nothing short of perfection.
Even on its own, it was grand and beautiful, but combined, it was like Nüwa showing off her divine craftsmanship.
Then, Ling Xi noticed something at the corner of Song Yi’s eye.
A tiny black mole, right where her double eyelids creased.
Normally, when her eyes were open, Ling Xi had never noticed it.
But now, with them closed, that mole became a captivating focal point, drawing Ling Xi’s gaze.
She stared for a long while before suddenly remembering.
The woman she had once caught she, too, had those same sharp, phoenix-like eyes.
And if memory served, there had been a mole in the same spot.
The only difference was that Song Yi’s mole was barely noticeable, while the other woman’s tear mole had stood out like a striking emblem.
Before Ling Xi could dwell on it further, the person in her arms stirred again.
Ling Xi jerked back only for Song Yi to grab her collar.
Song Yi was awake, though perhaps not fully lucid yet, instinctively nestling closer into Ling Xi’s embrace.
She even nuzzled against Ling Xi’s neck.
Ling Xi froze, then reluctantly wrapped her arms around Song Yi again.
Only when Song Yi had her fill of clinging did she finally open her eyes.
“Mmm… huh?” She let out a soft, drowsy murmur before turning her misty gaze toward Ling Xi.
Ling Xi immediately released her. “I just woke up too. This is how I found us.”
Song Yi didn’t seem bothered. She sat up, shaking off the remnants of sleep.
Relieved by her lack of questions, Ling Xi also rose, ready to return to her own room.
“What time is it, ugh.” Song Yi tugged at Ling Xi’s skirt.
“I didn’t check. My phone isn’t here,” Ling Xi admitted, forced back onto the bed.
“Stay a little longer.” Song Yi pulled her down again.
“No work today?” This was the first time Ling Xi had seen this side of Song Yi, the usually meticulous, coldly decisive CEO, now clinging to the bed like a child.
“Don’t want to.” Song Yi hugged her tighter.
Ling Xi patted her back. “Sleep well?”
“Mhm. Really relaxed.” It was rare for Song Yi to sleep so soundly.
Which was why she was even more reluctant to wake up.
Normally, she’d never laze in bed she’d be eager to escape the nightmares that haunted her.
“That’s good.” Ling Xi glanced at the bedside clock. “But it’s past eight. Time to get up for work.”
“You’re so annoying.” Song Yi pouted, shooting Ling Xi a displeased look before grudgingly getting up.
She turned away in a huff, ignoring Ling Xi.
Ling Xi poked her shoulder.
Song Yi turned back, cheeks still puffed with irritation.
“Or we could skip work?” Seeing Song Yi like this, how could Ling Xi possibly refuse her?
Or perhaps Ling Xi, too, was reluctant to leave the warmth of the bed.
“No, we can’t.” Song Yi’s brows drooped. “Go freshen up. Are you heading out later?”
“Yeah, to the commercial district.” Ling Xi hesitated but decided against mentioning her meeting with the mysterious person or the real location.
“Fine. I’ll drop you off.” Tucking her hair behind her ears, Song Yi regained her usual composure.
Ling Xi left Song Yi’s room, unable to suppress the smile tugging at her lips, silently scolding herself for acting so strange.
This scene was witnessed by Housekeeper Zhao, who had come upstairs to wake them.
Which room had Ling Xi just come out of?
Housekeeper Zhao stood frozen in the hallway for a full five minutes before snapping out of it.
She had a feeling their young mistress’s happy news was imminent.
Perhaps she should start shopping for newlywed essentials in advance.
After arriving at the commercial district, Ling Xi wandered aimlessly for ten minutes before finally heading toward the address the mysterious person had given her.
Only when she arrived did Ling Xi realize something was amiss.
Why was this a private mansion?
Standing alone, it looked nearly identical to Song Yi’s villa.
Ling Xi swallowed hard.
No one had ever told her that the surname “Yun” belonged to one of Yanjing’s elite families.
She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
Truthfully, Ling Xi didn’t know much about the power dynamics of Yanjing.
Mu Xie would never have explained such things to her. What little she knew about high society came from fragments she’d picked up in her past life while staying by
Mu Xie ’s side.
Then, at the entrance, she spotted Yun Fengzhi.
“Finally here. You’re five minutes late.”
Yun Fengzhi waved her over while simultaneously texting Song Yi.
Song Yi was probably in a meeting, as she hadn’t replied.
Missing out on a good show, Yun Fengzhi inwardly sighed in disappointment.
“Sorry, traffic was bad,” Ling Xi said truthfully.
Originally, she should have arrived five minutes early.
But given the morning rush, being only five minutes late meant her driver had done an excellent job navigating.
“No worries, come in. Did you know the person you contacted is my sister?”
Ling Xi let out a soft “Ah.” “I only knew she was a relative of yours.”
“She shouldn’t have been handling those matters she was just assisting me with the investigation. We’ll talk more inside.” Yun Fengzhi held the door open for her.
Inside, Ling Xi came face-to-face with the mysterious figure she’d briefly encountered in her past life.
“Have a seat.” If not for Yun Fengzhi’s confirmation that he knew this girl, Yun Danhui wouldn’t have remained so composed.
Otherwise, the moment Ling Xi finished speaking, she might have been detained for interrogation.
Yun Danhui’s appearance was striking her aura wasn’t cold but rather mesmerizing, yet it made people hesitant to look at her for too long.
“Under what circumstances did you learn about this drug?”
Her piercing gaze alone made Ling Xi lower her head, barely daring to breathe.
“You should know that, on paper, I’m Mu Xie ’s fiancée. But in reality, for over half a year, she’s subjected me to all kinds of coercion. Including drugging and confinement.”
Yun Danhui glanced at Yun Fengzhi.
Yun Fengzhi nodded. ” Mu Xie is absolutely capable of that.”
Ling Xi was momentarily stunned by his words.
She had been prepared to explain further, even provide evidence. Yet Yun Fengzhi had just vouched for her.
She didn’t recall being particularly close to him, how would he know?
Had Sister Tan told him?
Or, as fellow elites, did Yun Fengzhi know Song Yi?
Ling Xi’s expression toward Yun Fengzhi turned slightly complicated.
She remembered that on the night they took her statement, Yun Fengzhi hadn’t seemed familiar with Song Yi at all.
“Did she administer this drug to you?” Yun Danhui’s gaze remained fixed on Ling Xi.
The pressure was immense, Ling Xi could feel cold sweat forming.
“No. But once, I pretended to be unconscious to lower her guard. While she was… relocating me, I overheard her mention it in a conversation with someone. The words ‘Gamma Drug’ and ‘SXT’ came up.”
Yun Danhui silently repeated the second term Ling Xi had mentioned.
“Do you remember anything else? Did she mention any names or organizational codenames?”
Matching the three letters against her existing intelligence, Yun Danhui internally confirmed Ling Xi’s account.
But she remained skeptical about the source of her information.
Every single person who had access to the Gamma Drug was, without exception, her enemy.
“No name was given. Her tone was quite rude. It was probably an emergency situation where she urgently needed that medication. But afterward, she didn’t inject me instead, she extracted my pheromones.”
This incident didn’t happen in this lifetime. Ling Xi considered it ancient history, and since her gland condition was indeed poor, Yun Danhui likely wouldn’t find any discrepancies in her story.
“The last thing I remember was Mu Xie referring to that group as ‘pheromone-bearing sinners.'”
Yun Danhui fell into prolonged silence upon hearing this.
She and Yun Fengzhi had investigated the girl before them last night.
Her background was unremarkable bright among ordinary people, the kind of amiable girl next door.
Yun Danhui found it suspicious regardless. She’d seen too many people who appeared friendly while committing atrocities behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, her sister who’d left the Yun family to join the investigation unit was bizarrely partial toward Ling Xi.
Moreover, her family circumstances were far too unusual.
Including those highly questionable pheromone levels.
But if Ling Xi were truly involved, why would she come alone to her residence?
With Ling Xi’s utterly defenseless demeanor, she might as well be a lamb led to slaughter.
“Do you know Mu Xie ‘s pheromone level?” Yun Fengzhi suddenly spoke up from where she lounged against her chair, sipping tea.
Ling Xi pondered briefly. “I’m not certain. We never went that far. I only caught her scent. It was mint—the intensely stimulating kind.”
“How odd.” Yun Fengzhi murmured before offering Ling Xi some pastries.
“Rest for now. My sister and I need to discuss this further.”
Ling Xi accepted and took a bite without overthinking it. The flavor was surprisingly good.
Before she could finish, her phone buzzed in her pocket.
Yun Danhui’s sharp gaze snapped toward her.
“C-can I check my phone…?” Ling Xi shrank slightly.
“Go ahead, it’s fine.” Yun Fengzhi stepped between them with an easygoing smile.
Yun Danhui shot her a displeased look that made Yun Fengzhi break out in cold sweat.
It was probably Song Yi coming to reclaim her after seeing the message.
Ling Xi knew it was from Song Yi.
Only contacts set to priority notifications would chime at such volume.
[Where are you?]
That was all Song Yi sent.
Ling Xi stared at the oddly terse message just as a call came through, startling her so badly she nearly dropped the phone.
A realization flashed through her mind.
Clutching the device, she looked up at Yun Fengzhi. “Do you know Song Yi?”
“No!”
“Yes.”
Yun Fengzhi turned incredulous eyes toward Yun Danhui. Her own sister had thrown her under the bus.
Yun Danhui met her gaze, equally confused. She distinctly remembered her sister being close with Song Yi during university had they fallen out?
“We know her…”
“Don’t.”
They corrected simultaneously.
Yun Fengzhi wished she could vanish. Yun Danhui looked thoroughly bewildered.
Ling Xi’s expression turned complicated. “I’ll take this on the balcony.”
During her absence, Yun Fengzhi hastily explained to Yun Danhui in a hushed tone: “Wondered how she escaped
Mu Xie ? Old Song intervened. That’s the ‘beloved’ she treasures like her own eyes—apparently they’re getting married soon. Isn’t that guarantee enough?”
“But her engagement withMu Xie .” Yun Danhui cut herself off as understanding dawned.
Song Yi was after all Mu Xie’s elder. What could Mu Xie possibly say when someone set their sights on her fiancé and simply took him?
“Still doubting her?” Yun Fengzhi shook her head.
She had great faith in Song Yi’s judgment.
Besides, having brought someone home, wouldn’t Song Yi have thoroughly vetted them?
Yun Danhui closed her eyes, neither confirming nor denying.
The murder of one’s mother was a pain that cut deep to the bone. She would rather mistakenly eliminate a thousand than let one slip away.
“Song Yi.” Ling Xi answered the call at the very last second before it would have disconnected.
“Are you alright?” On the other end, Song Yi finally let out a sigh of relief.
Ling Xi could hear some noise in the background, Song Yi seemed to be in a car.
“What could possibly be wrong with me? Song Yi, why didn’t you tell me you knew that officer, Yun Fengzhi?”
Thinking about it, it wasn’t really Song Yi’s fault.
After all, Song Yi had been drunk at the time.
It was Yun Fengzhi who had been evasive and even teased her about her relationship with Song Yi.
If she knew Song Yi, she should have known they weren’t a couple.
Ling Xi just didn’t have a good impression of Yun Fengzhi.
“I didn’t think of it. Sorry, I didn’t mean to hide it from you.” That was a lie.
Song Yi sighed inwardly. She really was a scoundrel for deceiving the girl.
“It’s fine. I just felt a bit awkward.” She had also been forced to pretend to be Song Yi’s girlfriend in front of Yun Fengzhi for quite some time.
“Are you still at Yun Danhui’s place?”
“Yun Danhui?”
“Yun Fengzhi’s older sister. Didn’t you go to meet her today?” Song Yi was confused by Ling Xi’s words.
She had thought Ling Xi had found Yun Danhui through some channel and gotten to know her.
Turns out Ling Xi didn’t even know the woman’s name.
And yet she dared to go alone to the meeting. Song Yi felt like giving Ling Xi a good scolding.
She really had no fear of danger.
“Oh right, they seemed to have more questions for me. You aren’t on your way to pick me up, are you?” It wasn’t unreasonable for Ling Xi to guess that.
Song Yi did sound urgent, and the background noise did sound like she was in a car.
“Yes. She didn’t bully you, did she?” Song Yi knew what the lead on the Gamma serum meant to the Yun sisters.
“No., I don’t think so? She did seem a bit stern.”
Ling Xi thought for a moment, then lowered her voice to a whisper. “Way scarier than you.”
Hearing her tone, Song Yi was completely reassured and even chuckled. “I’m quite approachable, right?”
“You’re very gentle.” Hearing Song Yi’s voice, Ling Xi relaxed completely, even leaning against the railing like a girlfriend sweet-talking on the phone.
In the car, Song Yi wished she could teleport to Ling Xi’s side immediately.
“Not many people describe me that way.”
Ling Xi giggled. “That’s because they don’t know you well.”
“Wait for me five minutes. I’ll be right there to get you.” Song Yi’s heartstrings trembled, and she sighed.
“Okay. I’ll hang up now then.”
After the call, Ling Xi was in high spirits.
She didn’t even notice how light her steps had become, much quicker than when she had gone to the balcony earlier.
Yun Fengzhi poked Yun Danhui’s shoulder to get her attention.
At this point, Yun Danhui still didn’t want to believe.
She asked two more trivial questions, which Ling Xi genuinely couldn’t answer, nor did she tell Yun Danhui the serial number of the SXT serum at this point in time, the serum shouldn’t have been upgraded to the version Ling Xi had heard of.
By the time Yun Fengzhi brought Song Yi upstairs, Yun Danhui had no more questions for Ling Xi.
Song Yi’s protective stance was obvious, and Yun Danhui didn’t want to confront her directly.
To some extent, they were like grasshoppers tied to the same rope allies who had no reason to turn against each other.
“By the way, aren’t you busy with work?” Ling Xi, shielded behind Song Yi, remained oblivious and instead leaned in close to whisper in her ear.
“Just finished the meeting, I still have half an hour to rest.” Song Yi tilted her head slightly, her tone and expression brimming with tenderness.
Yun Danhui was stunned.
Yun Fengzhi, while secretly gloating at the side, accidentally met Song Yi’s sweeping gaze and immediately hid behind Yun Danhui.
Once Song Yi sent Ling Xi away, she would be in for a reckoning.
Ling Xi also shot her a glance, clearly displeased.
Well, she was about to face a double whammy. Yun Fengzhi felt like crying but had no tears.
What Yun Fengzhi didn’t know yet was this:
Provoking Song Yi wasn’t a big deal, there was still room for negotiation.
But if the person provoked was Ling Xi, Song Yi wouldn’t hold back.
“I’m taking her with me.” Without another word to Yun Danhui, Song Yi hooked her arm through Ling Xi’s and prepared to leave.
She really had come just to rescue Ling Xi from the lion’s den.
“Don’t bother seeing us out.” Yun Danhui waved her hand, having no interest in catching up with Song Yi either.
Aside from Yun Fengzhi, their only connection was the Tiancan organization.
In some ways, Song Yi was much luckier than her.
At least her family was still alive.
Thinking of her adoptive mother her savior, Yun Danhui watched Ling Xi’s retreating figure with complex emotions, her gaze burning with intensity.
This was the only lead they had recently.
After causing that large-scale incident last time, the unknown organization had gone underground, rarely showing itself.
Years had passed, and the information they’d uncovered before was now obsolete.
Yun Danhui sincerely hoped Ling Xi’s intel would prove useful this time.
They’d already gotten in the car and driven several meters when Ling Xi suddenly froze.
She’d forgotten to discuss helping Yun Danhui find her sister.
“What’s wrong?” Song Yi noticed her reaction.
“Uh… nothing, it’s nothing.” Ling Xi could only text Yun Danhui later.
“Did she give you a hard time?” Seeing Ling Xi so flustered, Song Yi grew concerned again.
“Yun Danhui does have a terrible temper. Especially regarding the Gamma serum incident.”
“Her adoptive mother died because of that serum.”
Ling Xi tilted her head back, steadying her emotions.
When would she finally remember?
Ling Xi’s intuition told her those memories were important.
The person in her arms shifted slightly.
Turning her head, Ling Xi saw Song Yi had somehow curled into her embrace and blinked in surprise.
Then she reached out to adjust the blankets.
Her hand lingered, quietly resting against Song Yi’s back.
They were nearly the same height, yet the sleeping Song Yi looked so small curled up against her, like an injured creature seeking sanctuary in divine arms.
Ling Xi couldn’t help holding her tighter.
Though she didn’t know Song Yi’s past well, the fact that she needed alcohol to sleep and endured constant pressure about marriage suggested life hadn’t been easy.
Ling Xi realized holding Song Yi warmed her heart.
This feeling was truly different.
She’d slept beside Ling Yue, Jiang Yuyang, and He Qingmo before too.
Of course, that was before her differentiation.
Her secondary gender had emerged late, though thankfully before adulthood.
Surely this strange sensation wasn’t just because she was an alpha sleeping with an omega now?
Ling Xi considered this, then dismissed the thought.
Before Mu Xie revealed her true colors, they’d once shared a bed during a trip too.
She’d simply held the unusually vulnerable girl, guiding her head to rest on her shoulder.
Ling Xi leaned against the slightly fragrant shoulder, feeling so at ease that she didn’t want to think about anything else.
“Song Yi!” Sister.
Ling Xi desperately wanted to call her that.
She mulled over the word, thinking of Ling Yue, of Qi Zhen.
Thinking of the love she never thought she’d have.
Ling Xi’s eyelashes fluttered incessantly.
Her subconscious had noticed something.
Yet she no longer wanted to pull away.
“Will you be staying home this afternoon, or do you have other plans?” Song Yi finally spoke after letting the tranquil atmosphere linger a while longer.
“Let’s go home. What time will you be back today? I’ll wait for you properly as promised.” Ling Xi lifted her head from Song Yi’s shoulder.
The spot where she’d rested burned with lingering warmth.
Song Yi couldn’t suppress a shiver—for this warmth that would inevitably fade.
How she wished she could make that moment last forever.
“Around six, I’m not busy today. I’ll message you when I’m heading back.”
Ling Xi listened to her words.
When she turned to look at her, the autumn sunlight from the window fell perfectly on her hair.
Each strand gilded with gold, as if bathed in honey.
Only her eyelashes caught the light now, framing eyes that held a dark, distant star.
Their depth pierced straight into Ling Xi’s heart.
Every time she saw Song Yi, she couldn’t help but feel nervous.
Her heartbeat quickened, her temperature rose.
Yet she couldn’t control her desire to be with her, no matter what they did, even if it was something silly.
Again and again, she pushed past the boundaries of intimacy.
Kisses, embraces, love.
What exactly was this feeling?
An answer hovered on the tip of her tongue.
Returning to her room, Ling Xi impatiently dialed Jiang Yuyang’s number.
“Yuyang, how did you know you were in love with my sister?”
