Seduced Me into a Deep Fall - Chapter 24.2
Song Yi sniffled, gripping Ling Xi’s fingers as if ready to pull away.
“Wait, wait, fine, I’ll kiss you.” Ling Xi was genuinely afraid of this drunken mess.
“Just one, that’s it,” she said, her face flushed, barely managing to pull Song Yi back.
“Just one, that’s all I want,” Song Yi murmured, tilting her head up and closing her eyes, waiting for Ling Xi to lean in.
She had no intention of lingering.
It was just that she couldn’t resist hence the drunken act to lure Ling Xi in.
But reason still held her back, keeping her from immediately pouncing on Ling Xi.
Yet when Ling Xi finally softened her breath and gently pressed her lips to Song Yi’s,
Song Yi couldn’t hold back anymore.
What kind of kiss was it if their lips barely touched?
Tears still glistened at the corners of Song Yi’s eyes. She hooked an arm around Ling Xi’s waist, applying just enough pressure to keep her from pulling away.
Wanting to satisfy Song Yi, to break through her resistance, to feel every part of her it was only natural.
Ling Xi was losing control.
The phrase “once tasted, forever craved” had never felt more apt.
“Song Yi, we can’t.” Ling Xi bit down lightly, but the increasingly potent scent of pheromones overwhelmed her, leaving her as dazed as if she were drunk, her cheeks burning like sunset.
“Why not?” Song Yi was still pretending to be drunk. She had already undone the buttons of her blouse.
At this point, was there any turning back?
Song Yi wouldn’t allow it.
And the instincts buried deep within Ling Xi wouldn’t allow it either.
This was her prey.
A feast served to her on a silver platter.
The alpha instincts in her flared up completely the moment her scent glands were stroked again.
“Love me properly,” Song Yi whispered, lying back and pulling Ling Xi on top.
Her eyes brimmed with tears sweet as honey, clinging to her lashes.
Begging Ling Xi to taste them.
“You asked for this,” Ling Xi murmured, casting aside restraint.
In the sea of bergamot fragrance, she held Song Yi close.
Just as she had promised, she loved her slowly, thoroughly, inch by inch.
“You wanted this. No take-backs,” Ling Xi murmured against Song Yi’s lips, already struggling to keep up.
She kissed her eyelids, the tip of her nose.
“Don’t run,” Ling Xi whispered, tightening her grip just enough to draw a shiver.
“It hurts! ” Song Yi dug her fingers into Ling Xi’s shoulders, pulling her deeper.
“That’s because you’re not behaving,” Ling Xi murmured, undoubtedly intoxicated by the omega’s unrestrained pheromones.
By the sweetness of her mouth.
“I’m being good,” Song Yi gasped, pouring every ounce of passion into making the moment even more intense.
“Naughty sisters don’t act like this.” Ling Xi finally let slip the title she’d been repeating in her mind for days.
“Teasing me.” Now it was her turn to whisper something scandalous against Song Yi’s ear.
That single word, “sister” melted Song Yi’s bones.
“Then you can do whatever you want to me.” The words “punish me” were nothing but breath and lips shaping the syllables.
But Ling Xi understood.
“If that’s what sister wants,” Ling Xi murmured, guiding her body into a new position.
“I’ll love you properly.”
It wasn’t until the early hours of the morning, when Song Yi was exhausted and nearly asleep, that Ling Xi finally had her fill.
The next morning, when Ling Xi opened her eyes, she couldn’t immediately recall what had happened the previous day, only that her entire body ached as if she’d been beaten.
Her first fragmented memory involved Song Yi.
Surely drunk Song Yi hadn’t beaten her up?
Dazed for a moment, Ling Xi turned her head and finally noticed Song Yi lying in her arms.
Completely naked, no less.
Ling Xi froze in place.
Last night, what exactly had they done?!
She was so startled she nearly fell off the bed.
She tugged at Song Yi so hard it made the other woman frown, forcing herself to carefully detach from where she’d been clinging to Song Yi.
The faint scent of bergamot still lingered in the air.
Was Song Yi in heat again?
That couldn’t be hadn’t they just dealt with that?
Without strong stimulation, there shouldn’t be a reason for.
Ling Xi’s lips suddenly throbbed with pain.
Every inch of her body felt wrong.
Her head grew hot as her body temperature skyrocketed.
She remembered kissing Song Yi.
While the other woman was drunk.
She could still recall how soft and sweet those lips had been.
Like tasting a rose-flavored sponge cake, with hints of red wine cream.
Though it had felt like Song Yi kept “forcing” her.
But she shouldn’t have kissed back, let alone deepened it!
Song Yi had been drunk. This was taking advantage! How was she any different from those scummy alphas?
Ling Xi wished she could disappear from this world.
The events afterward were hazy, only fragments remaining in her mind.
Just like their first accidental encounter.
No doubt about it.
They hadn’t just done something.
They’d done everything.
Ling Xi nearly bit through her own tongue.
Could she just reincarnate again?
If Song Yi demanded an explanation, what could she possibly say?
That she lost control?
That she was tempted by Song Yi’s pheromones?
That their passion naturally led from kissing to this?
Ling Xi was on the verge of tears.
She heard the rustle of bedding.
Her doom approached. Ling Xi closed her eyes, adopting a resigned expression.
Song Yi simply sat up without speaking.
Seeing Ling Xi mirroring her position almost made her laugh.
After barely restraining herself, Song Yi cleared her throat.
Ling Xi flinched.
“I’m so sorry!!!” Without caring about her own nakedness, she immediately bowed in apology.
Song Yi caught her before she could kneel.
“Am I in heat?” Song Yi’s expression remained neutral.
Though her eyes still held traces of last night’s fire, her demeanor was completely calm.
“N-no, I don’t think so.” Ling Xi’s eyes glistened with unshed tears.
They were still too unfamiliar with this. Ling Xi needed to get more accustomed to such situations.
While making these calculations, Song Yi glanced up at her.
She swore she was being as gentle as possible.
Yet Ling Xi still teared up under her gaze.
“It’s all my fault, you should hate me, I’ll pack my things and leave right now.” The girl began sniffling as she cried.
Song Yi pinched her arm. “If I’m not in heat, why can I smell pheromones?”
Ling Xi obediently offered her hand.
Wearing an expression that said “just strangle me already.”
It really made one want to bully her.
But Song Yi had enough restraint not to tease Ling Xi now.
Lest she actually scare the girl away.
“I never said I hate you, nor that you should leave.” Song Yi pulled Ling Xi closer. “What are you afraid of?”
“But, I did that to you.” Her tear-streaked face showed genuine remorse.
“You’re in heat, why would I blame you?” Song Yi instead reached out to wipe Ling Xi’s tears.
“If you ran away, would you want me to find some shady alpha to deal with my heat?”
After wiping them away, meeting Ling Xi’s dazed gaze, Song Yi flicked her forehead.
“Don’t overthink it. I never said you couldn’t.” Then Song Yi couldn’t bear to look at Ling Xi any longer.
She stood up and walked straight to the bathroom, leaving Ling Xi standing there, stunned.
What did she mean?
Ling Xi couldn’t quite understand.
Normally, people would be angry in this kind of situation, right?
They’d think the person who acted was disgusting, wouldn’t they?
Why was Song Yi reacting like this?
Did she not realize what they’d done last night?
She must not have after all, Song Yi blacks out.
Ling Xi choked back a sob, steeled herself, and went to Song Yi’s side.
“Um, Song Yi…” Ling Xi didn’t even notice her own state right now.
Song Yi had already wrapped herself in a bathrobe.
She glanced at Ling Xi sideways, then tossed her own robe to her.
Her movements were swift, as if one more second of looking at Ling Xi would make her glands swell to bursting.
Ling Xi’s face slowly flushed red.
By the time Song Yi had put her robe back on and turned around, she saw Ling Xi had her back to her.
“What, you’ve seen it a few times already, still shy?” Song Yi walked over with a laugh and patted her head.
“Don’t blame yourself. I remember bits and pieces. Last night, I probably provoked you first, didn’t I?”
Ling Xi struggled to recall. “Maybe but you were drunk. What you said wasn’t what you really meant.”
She bowed her head again. “I lost control. I’m still sorry!”
Song Yi began washing her face, only sparing Ling Xi a glance at her words.
“At your age, it’d be weird if you could control it.” Barely twenty, full of youthful vigor and passion.
After all she’d done, if Ling Xi hadn’t touched her, she’d have doubted her own charm.
Hearing this, Ling Xi’s face burned even hotter. “A-anyway, I’m sorry!”
“Enough. I accept it.” Song Yi waved her hand.
“If there’s nothing else, you freshen up. I’ll go pack my things, then head out to pay your mother’s fees.”
Had she handled this in a way that wouldn’t leave Ling Xi traumatized?
Ling Xi finally settled down, nodding obediently.
Like a doll, she began washing up with earnest focus.
Song Yi lingered for just a second, her gaze skimming over Ling Xi’s face, then her body.
“Little darling, have you ever heard the saying, ‘Drunk words are sober thoughts’?”
With those final words, Song Yi left Ling Xi’s room.
Only after drying her face did Ling Xi process what Song Yi had just said.
She rushed out, only to see Song Yi’s retreating back.
Then Song Yi closed her bedroom door.
Ling Xi stood alone in the hallway.
Drunk words are sober thoughts.
Ling Xi repeated the phrase to herself.
There’s no way Song Yi meant that she actually wanted to with her, right?!
The thought sent a scalding heat through Ling Xi’s entire body.
She savored Song Yi’s words as memories flashed through her mind.
Last night’s mix of innocence and maturity had fermented into something sweet.
Ling Xi bit into it abruptly, and in her daze, she seemed to hear a whisper “Little darling.”
She covered her face.
If she wasn’t mistaken, Song Yi was saying she wanted to with her too.
Ling Xi jerked her head up, tilting back until tears slid from the corners of her eyes. The suffocating lack of air made her dizzy.
Only then did Ling Xi dare to slowly tuck that overly bold thought into the depths of her heart.
What did Song Yi mean by those words?
Ling Xi didn’t dare to think too deeply about it.
Afraid it might just be her delusion, afraid she might end up disappointed.
During breakfast, Ling Xi kept brainwashing herself.
Song Yi merely thought her skills were good.
She only liked her pheromones.
It just so happened that they had been intimate before and wanted to seek her out to satisfy physical desires.
It just so happened that they later agreed to a marriage of convenience.
Nothing more to it.
Watching Ling Xi bury herself in eating, Song Yi sighed inwardly.
Last night wasn’t about Ling Xi failing to restrain herself.
It was clearly Song Yi who couldn’t hold back, deliberately provoking her.
She really needed to exercise more self-control.
Look how badly she had frightened Ling Xi.
When would this girl finally grow bolder, a little more aware?
Still so naïve even holding hands would probably make her blush for ages.
On the ride to the hospital, Ling Xi was still brooding over Song Yi’s words.
Song Yi, noticing the sudden distance between them, couldn’t help feeling displeased.
She hadn’t done those things to Ling Xi just for her to avoid her the next day.
Next time, she’d have to try a different approach.
Song Yi decided to give Ling Xi some time and space to process things, so she didn’t initiate conversation.
Ling Xi remained silent until they were nearly at their destination, finally managing to calm the restless heat inside her. After hesitating for a long while, she finally spoke up hesitantly, “Song Yi, do you remember what you said last night?”
If Song Yi recalled what she had done while drunk before, wouldn’t that be social suicide?
She wasn’t even calling her “sister” anymore.
Song Yi felt a pang of disappointment, glancing sideways at Ling Xi. “No. Why, did I say something?”
“Then how did you know it was you who.”
“Just a vague impression.”
Song Yi watched Ling Xi’s conflicted expression, a hint of amusement in her eyes.
“If it hadn’t seemed like. I wouldn’t have known what happened last night either.”
“But you still shouldn’t have hidden it from me, like you were forcing me to, um…” Ling Xi lowered her head again.
Song Yi almost wanted to smack that little head. “I was drunk, not stupid. I just remember pulling you in to kiss, right?”
“You can’t blame yourself for that.” Song Yi decided to lay it all out.
“If you had held back, I’d have to wonder if I’m just not that attractive?”
Ling Xi’s mind immediately conjured up Song Yi’s figure.
The thin nightgown clinging to her graceful curves, she could still vividly recall every softness in that dizzying moment.
“Sweetheart. Tell me, does your sister have charm?” Song Yi’s voice seemed to whisper right beside her.
Like wind chimes brushing against her ear, piercing straight to her heart.
Ling Xi’s breathing hitched, and she couldn’t help turning to look at Song Yi, her eyes red as a rabbit’s.
Song Yi let out a soft laugh, leaning back without sparing her another glance.
As if last night’s events or even the moment just now were nothing more than trivial interludes to Song Yi.
Not worth lingering over, easily brushed off with a joke.
Only then did Ling Xi truly let go of her turmoil.
She really was still too inexperienced in these matters.
Song Yi was so mature, how could she ever doubt her own allure?
The two thoughts circled in her mind, leaving Ling Xi dazed as she slumped in her seat. Less than two minutes later, Song Yi pulled her out of the car.
“Do you want to bring your mother some fruit or something?” They had arrived early hospital patients hadn’t even started breakfast yet.
Only elderly residents doing morning exercises lingered downstairs, the entire building eerily quiet.
Ling Xi shook her head. “She can’t eat.”
Even that potted plant was just Ling Xi’s own wishful thinking.
After all, her mother was practically in a vegetative state now, unable to respond to anything.
“Alright, let’s go.” Song Yi assumed Ling Xi’s mother was just seriously ill and needed hospital rest.
While she went to pay the fees, Ling Xi visited room 1207 and came out with reddened eyes.
“Bad news?” Song Yi’s heart clenched seeing Ling Xi like this.
Ling Xi shook her head. “I’m afraid she might never wake up.”
“What?”
“The hospital’s diagnosis says she’s already in a vegetative state. But I keep hoping maybe one day she’ll open her eyes and respond to me again.” Ling Xi blinked, her lashes wet with tears.
Song Yi stayed silent with her for a long while.
Seeing her so heartbroken made Song Yi’s chest ache too.
But a vegetative state there really wasn’t much she could do.
“That day will come.” Song Yi sighed in unison with Ling Xi.
Poor girl. Having to deal with Mu Xie’s harassment after her mother’s accident.
No wonder, she’d forgotten about her.
Song Yi kept making excuses for Ling Xi.
Yet pressing a hand to her chest, she still felt those tiny, needle-like pains even now.
Those intimate summer days they’d shared, how could Ling Xi not remember?
“You’re going home today?” Leaving the hospital and seeing Ling Xi’s mood improve, Song Yi changed the subject.
“I was supposed to meet friends. It’s fine, I can go alone.”
Song Yi frowned and finally reached out, touching the head she’d been longing to touch.
“You’re this upset, what’s wrong with me seeing you home? We’re about to get married by contract, no need to be so formal with me.”
“Ah…” Ling Xi didn’t pull away.
The warmth atop her head felt like June sunshine or spring breezes.
Song Yi didn’t stroke her hair, just rested her hand there.
Such a simple gesture.
Yet Ling Xi felt incomparably comforted, her previously spasming heart calming.
Song Yi’s hand seemed to seal her wounds.
“Thank you.” Ling Xi reached up to hold Song Yi’s hand.
Pressing it against her cheek.
Then smiling up at her.
Song Yi’s heartstrings trembled violently.
Perhaps this smile was the reason she’d weathered countless disappointments, kept picking herself up, determined to forgive Ling Xi.
“I didn’t do much.” Flustered, Song Yi quickly withdrew her hand and looked down.
Ling Xi remained close this time, not putting distance between them.
“Taking me in, paying my fees, dealing with Mu Xie, how is that not much?” she murmured.
It was just that Song Yi seemed too good.
Making her apprehensive yet irresistibly drawn to that warmth.
“That was just an equivalent exchange.” Song Yi finally couldn’t help looking at Ling Xi again.
Seeing the deep joy in those moonlike eyes.
Song Yi exhaled softly.
She’d willingly drown in this moment.
She’d gladly sink into the ocean named Ling Xi without struggling for even a single breath.
“You’re very different from what I imagined.” Approaching the shopping district, Ling Xi spoke again, still smiling.
“You didn’t even know me before, what could you have imagined?” Half-teasing, half-probing.
Ling Xi didn’t hesitate at all, offering no rebuttal. “But you seemed unapproachable. I didn’t expect you to be so gentle.”
And a little mischievous, enjoying teasing her.
She’s quite adorable too.
Song Yi concealed the loneliness in her eyes. “Then you’ll need to spend more time with me. There are still plenty of things about me you wouldn’t expect.”
“Sure.” They still had several years of contractual marriage ahead. Though there was no emotional foundation, Ling Xi didn’t want to live under the same roof with a cold stranger for years.
“Hope you have a productive day at work!” As the car stopped, Ling Xi waved goodbye to Song Yi.
Jiang Yuyang was just a student still in school. Even if he knew about Ling Yue’s situation, what could he possibly do?
The important thing was not to make any noise that might alert Mu Xie, whom they’d finally managed to shake off.
“She’s been busy with a project recently. It’s normal she hasn’t replied to your messages.”
Ling Xi casually offered this excuse to comfort Jiang Yuyang.
“My sister has many people around her. You’ll need to be bolder if you want a chance.” The tables had turned, and now it was Ling Xi’s turn to tease Jiang Yuyang.
Jiang Yuyang nearly crushed the drink cup in his hand.
Ling Xi noticed a crack forming on the cup.
She’d almost forgotten how strong her good friend was.
“Xiao Xi, are you saying I should confess first?” Jiang Yuyang grabbed Ling Xi’s arm, clearly agitated by her words.
” I don’t know either.” Ling Xi pressed down on Jiang Yuyang’s hand.
From her perspective, Ling Yue treated Jiang Yuyang no differently than she did He Qingmo or Tan Nijun with no particular special attention.
It was just that Ling Yue had always been good-natured since childhood, giving people the mistaken impression that she was especially gentle toward them.
After walking for a few minutes, two messages popped up on her phone simultaneously.
Seeing the special notification marker for Song Yi, Ling Xi felt a twinge of guilt mixed with the irritation Jiang Yuyang had provoked.
Unseen by her, Song Yi leaned against the car window, watching Ling Xi until her figure completely disappeared from view, only then turning away to massage her stiff neck.
Realizing she’d arrived too early, Ling Xi went to a nearby fast-food restaurant, ordered an ice cream, and sat down to eat it.
Her phone pinged with a notification that a blogger she followed had posted.
Opening it, she saw “Last Night’s Storm” was showing off their relationship again.
This time the post was simple just musing about the concept of “fate.”
Ling Xi didn’t have strong feelings about it, but could tell this blogger and their partner had once been connected by fate, lost it, and then regained it.
That truly counted as fate. To find your way back to each other after separation that was beautiful.
Ling Xi clicked her tongue in admiration, silently sending her usual blessings, then screenshotted the post.
She still wondered who was behind this account.
Noticing the forum’s new IP display feature, she pondered.
IP location: Beijing. Could “Last Night’s Storm” be someone she knew?
If possible, Ling Xi would quite like to meet them.
Judging by their writing style, they probably enjoyed similar books.
Today Jiang Yuyang had free time and invited Ling Xi out.
“How’s your internship search going?” Ling Xi only just remembered to ask.
After changing majors in his sophomore year, Jiang Yuyang had to study an extra year and hadn’t graduated yet, now worrying about internships and graduate school entrance exams.
Jiang Yuyang shook his head. “Internships are too hard. I think I’ll focus on grad school first.”
“That’s difficult too, isn’t it? I can’t really help much with that. But I’ve been free lately, I could accompany you to study halls.”
Speaking of work, someone had actually emailed Ling Xi yesterday about a potential collaboration.
Ling Xi hadn’t carefully studied it yet. And all the job applications she had sent out before had been rejected.
She had graduated from a prestigious university with a good major, but just missed the campus recruitment. The difficulty of finding a job was evident.
“Are you still making money from drawing? I saw you streaming the other day and went to take a look,” Jiang Yuyang suddenly remembered something and grabbed Ling Xi’s sleeve.
“Tell me secretly, are you in a relationship?”
Ling Xi’s ears immediately turned red. “I’m not! I really am not!”
This was trouble. Other fans hadn’t seen her in person and might believe her excuse of “just drawing myself.”
But Jiang Yuyang was so close to her they practically shared clothes there was no way she’d buy it.
“Then who’s that pretty older sister you’ve been drawing every day? We wouldn’t oppose you dating. As long as she’s not another Mu Xie,” Jiang Yuyang said in a parental tone.
“I’m the same age as you guys!” Ling Xi tried to deflect.
“Yue-jie isn’t here, so what does it matter?” Jiang Yuyang and He Qingmo both had birthdays in the first half of the year among the four of them, Ling Xi really was the youngest.
Hearing her sister’s name, Ling Xi’s defiance instantly deflated.
“Is it the one who helped you before?” Jiang Yuyang pretended not to notice and kept probing.
She had heard from Tan Nijun that Ling Xi might be hiding something, which was why she had been watching Ling Xi’s streams for the past few days.
Ling Xi’s reaction yesterday had almost confirmed her suspicions.
“Really, no. I don’t want to date anyone, and I don’t like her,” Ling Xi calmed down for a few seconds, shook her head, and spoke very seriously.
Jiang Yuyang raised an eyebrow. “If she’s a good person, what’s wrong with dating her? You’ve been drawing her for so many days do you really not feel anything at all?”
