Chapter 117: Shen Ya Had Already Noticed…
Shen Ya had already noticed the numerous missed calls on her phone. She took advantage of a moment when Qiao Xi wasn’t paying attention to check her Moments and replied to everyone except Jiang Yunxi with a simple: “Thank you.”
As for the accusatory messages Jiang Yunxi sent her, she decided to ignore them for the time being. She hadn’t told Qiao Xi about this, and Qiao Xi’s phone remained turned off.
In the evening, they ate the barbecue Qiao Xi was craving, and then strolled slowly back to the hotel hand-in-hand along the beach. Such leisurely days made them feel relaxed and joyful. They forgot all their worries, focusing only on each other. Qiao Xi was already reluctant to leave.
As soon as they returned to the hotel room, Qiao Xi didn’t even have time to catch her breath before Shen Ya led her into the bathroom. The hotel bathroom was spacious and bright. One of the walls had been replaced with transparent glass, offering a view of the bed and the television. In front of the glass was a built-in bathtub, and during the day, one could even overlook the sea view from here.
Normally, the curtain would be drawn to cover this glass wall, but today, after Shen Ya led her in, she pressed the switch to raise the curtain. The view instantly opened up, causing Qiao Xi to instinctively shrink into Shen Ya’s embrace in panic.
Even though they were far from the other window, Qiao Xi was worried: “We’ll be seen.”
“No, we won’t.” Shen Ya held her waist, and as she lowered her head, her hair fell onto Qiao Xi’s shoulder. Their lips met. Shen Ya traced the shape of Qiao Xi’s lips with her mouth, softly and gently, like the brush of a feather.
Qiao Xi was distracted at first, constantly worrying that someone might see what they were doing through the window. But the air in front of her nose grew increasingly thin, and even now, she still wasn’t very good at breathing during kisses. The result was that she had to hold her breath, her face flushed, struggling like a fish out of water desperate to leap back into the water.
The hunter had already seen through all her reactions and thoughts. The moment she was pushed into the water, Qiao Xi froze. When did the bathtub get filled with water?
In her daze, she didn’t notice Shen Ya had already let go of her mouth, yet she was still holding her breath.
Shen Ya looked down at her. She smiled, reaching out a hand to gently stroke Qiao Xi’s cheek: “Xiao Xi?”
This voice successfully pulled Qiao Xi back to her senses. Only then did she realize both her legs were still resting on the edge of the bathtub, and her clothes and pants were mostly soaked, sticking uncomfortably to her body.
Qiao Xi wanted to take off her wet clothes, but being watched by Shen Ya made her shy, so she could only gently push Shen Ya’s arm: “Teacher Shen, why don’t you wait for me outside?”
“Outside?” Shen Ya raised an eyebrow, a slight smile on her face. The hand still wearing the sun ring grasped Qiao Xi’s slender wrist: “If I go out, how can I coax our Xiao Xi?”
“Coax, coax me?”
Shen Ya’s other hand had reached into the water. She grasped Qiao Xi’s soaked clothes and pulled them upwards. Her fingers hooked something white, which she lifted out of the water and tossed outside the tub.
“What do you want to say, Xiao Xi?”
Qiao Xi couldn’t speak, but her eyes couldn’t help but stick to Shen Ya’s lower abdomen. She heard Shen Ya’s chuckle again. Since they cleared the air, Shen Ya had become incredibly dominant at certain times, completely unlike her former emotionally clueless, reserved self.
Shen Ya first turned off the water in the bathtub, then found Qiao Xi’s hand underwater. She guided Qiao Xi’s palm to press against her waist: “Xiao Xi is very interested in this.”
“I am not!” Qiao Xi’s eyes darted away. Her fingertips had just touched the black string when she recoiled as if burned, closing her hand into a fist.
“You were staring at it just now, so why are you afraid now?”
Shen Ya must be doing this on purpose. Although it was just the two of them, Qiao Xi felt extremely embarrassed. She wanted to hide, but where could she hide now? Evasion would only encourage Shen Ya. She decided she should be bolder, or at least pretend not to care.
Although her gaze still didn’t dare to fall, Qiao Xi’s fingers grasped the thin string: “Teacher Shen, why would you wear… wear something like this?”
“Xiao Xi doesn’t like it?”
“I…” Why was she asking her? Being questioned back, she closed her mouth again, unsure how to answer.
“Since I need to coax Xiao Xi, naturally I have to put some effort into showing Xiao Xi my sincerity.”
Shen Ya’s tone was serious, as if she were facing something important, and there was no fault to find in her words. But her sincerity wasn’t meant to be this kind of sincerity!
“Come.” Shen Ya still held Qiao Xi’s hand, guiding it to gently caress her soft waist and abdomen. Shen Ya maintained a subtle smile. She attempted to release Qiao Xi’s hand, and only after confirming Qiao Xi’s hand hadn’t moved away from her abdomen did she confidently cup Qiao Xi’s face.
Shen Ya leaned closer, her breath spraying onto Qiao Xi’s face. Their breaths mingled and constantly enveloped them.
Qiao Xi’s face was flushed pink. Her eyes were bright, but a closer look would reveal the shyness hidden deep within. Shen Ya first pecked her lip, then blew a puff of air onto her ear. As Qiao Xi shivered, Shen Ya spoke slowly and softly: “Xiao Xi can do anything she wants to me.”
Anything?
Qiao Xi’s pupils contracted. These words were too tempting. Usually, Shen Ya initiated their intimacy, but today, Shen Ya was handing the initiative over to her?
Her heart rate instantly quickened. “Teacher Shen isn’t lying to me?”
“When have I ever lied to you?”
It seemed that was true. At least she couldn’t remember a time when Shen Ya lied to her.
Qiao Xi’s gaze toward Shen Ya grew fiery, and her hands became restless. Her pale fingertips touched a certain spot. A black string was unhooked somewhere, and her fingertip slipped into the water, while a sound like a mosquito’s buzz seemed to reach her ear.
She took in her bright moon completely, both her expression and everything else. She could admire every minute detail.
Qiao Xi’s hand traced circles, as if depicting stars in the sky. Each time, the moon in the water would ripple and look at her in a gentle reproach.
But now, she was fearless. Not only did she dare to look directly into Shen Ya’s eyes, but she also boldly tried to pull away the thin mist covering the moonlight.
The view suddenly cleared. The mist was pushed aside, and white clouds entered her vision. The clouds seemed within reach. She reached out and hooked the tail of a cloud.
At this moment, Shen Ya lifted her head, and her eyes became hazy.
“Teacher Shen is so beautiful.”
Shen Ya bit her lip, her breathing heavier.
“Teacher Shen, could you bend down a little more?” Qiao Xi held the cloud, her voice slightly playful: “Can this cloud approach me on its own?”
This remark made Shen Ya wonder if Qiao Xi’s earlier shyness was all an act. The moment she indulged Qiao Xi, this little rascal would take advantage and test her boundaries step by step.
But she had no boundaries when it came to Qiao Xi. Whatever Qiao Xi did to her, she was unrestrained and willingly accepting.
As Qiao Xi wished, that cloud willingly floated into Qiao Xi’s mouth. It turned out the cloud tasted like cotton candy.
The formerly calm water surface began to ripple. Whether it was the sea breeze outside that had entered the bathroom or something else, the air became thick. Intermittent sounds rose and fell. Two shadows overlapped on the glass, hazy and indistinct.
Even though Shen Ya had promised Qiao Xi the lead tonight, she was ultimately defeated by her stamina. After one round, her hands were numb and powerless. She wanted to change their approach, but Shen Ya guessed her thoughts, and her lips already pressed against Qiao Xi’s.
It was then that their positions reversed. Shen Ya’s eyes sparkled, and she repaid Qiao Xi completely using Qiao Xi’s own methods.
Qiao Xi gasped: “You…”
Qiao Xi was unstable and lacked Shen Ya’s strength. She couldn’t support her own body. If Shen Ya hadn’t held her waist, her head would have surely fallen into the water.
“Be good, don’t move.” Shen Ya’s other hand didn’t pause, even showing signs of speeding up. She gently bit Qiao Xi’s ear and whispered: “Xiao Xi, do you feel my sincerity?”
“N-No!”
“Is that so? Then it looks like I’ll have to try another method.”
Qiao Xi regretted her words immediately. As Shen Ya sped up, the hand around her waist released its grip. She received a medium-firm slap on her bottom. When her hands slipped, Shen Ya caught her again.
She heard Shen Ya’s soft laughter, and she heard Shen Ya exhale and say the words that made her most ashamed and annoyed in the most tender voice: “Then tonight, let’s keep going until Xiao Xi feels my sincerity.”
The consequence of her stubbornness was borne by her body. Shen Ya’s words were no joke. Even when she later cried out: “I was wrong!”
And tearfully pleaded: “Good sister, slow down!”
Shen Ya didn’t let her off the hook.
Qiao Xi was pressed against the glass, lifted onto the vanity counter, and pushed into the shower stall when her legs gave out. The shower stall was small; with two people, even turning around was inconvenient. Her face was pressed against the glass, her back arched, and every time her legs failed and she slid down, Shen Ya would lift her back up.
She couldn’t tell where the water on her body was coming from anymore. After being tormented for a long time, Qiao Xi was too exhausted even to cry. When clean clothes covered her head, and her body lay on the crisp white bed, her eyes shut tight, whether from exhaustion or a fear-induced desire to escape.
Qiao Xi fell asleep, obedient as a doll. Shen Ya squatted by the bed and affectionately kissed her several times. Even under the blanket, the red hickeys on Qiao Xi’s shoulder were visible.
The night was deep, but Shen Ya was wide awake. She was still savoring their earlier indulgence, but there were a few matters waiting for her to handle.
Shen Ya stood up and retrieved her phone. She glanced at Qiao Xi, then returned to the bathroom. The curtain was fully retracted by Shen Ya so she could observe any movement outside.
She opened Jiang Yunxi’s chat box and typed a line: [7:30 PM on Monday, I’ll be waiting for you at Hanlu.]
She initially thought it was too late to expect a reply from Jiang Yunxi, but the next second, her phone screen displayed an incoming call.
Shen Ya turned and walked into the shower stall. After turning on the water, she leaned her shoulder against the glass and answered the call. As expected, Jiang Yunxi roared at her in extreme anger: “Where did you kidnap Xiao Xi!?”
In the past, faced with such a tone, she might have panicked. But now, having just been intimate with Qiao Xi, and with that sun still on her hand, she found she couldn’t muster any emotion toward those words.
“Zhoucheng.”
Jiang Yunxi snapped: “I’m coming over tomorrow.”
Shen Ya’s voice carried a smile: “No need. We’ll be back tomorrow anyway. Xiao Xi has classes on Monday.”
“What’s going on between you and Xiao Xi!” Jiang Yunxi’s chest heaved violently. Not being able to contact Qiao Xi all day had made her anxious and irritable, so her voice was naturally unrestrained: “When did you two get together? Did you abduct her? How old is she? Why are you involved with her! Shen Ya, she is my sister!!”
Shen Ya held the phone away and rubbed her ear. It was rare to see Jiang Yunxi so distraught. Qiao Xi’s importance to her was clearly very high. Once her ear felt better, Shen Ya put the phone back: Her voice was soft, and she retorted: “Are you sure you want to discuss this with me right now?”
Jiang Yunxi gritted her teeth: “Shen Ya!”
After not seeing her for some time, Jiang Yunxi realized Shen Ya was completely different. Was this still the Shen Ya she knew—the one who was always timid and never seemed to have her own emotions?
“I’m well aware of Qiao Xi’s age. She’ll be 19 in a few months. She is already an adult, and her mind is far beyond her peers. She has her own thoughts, her own feelings, and her own choices. Even if she is your sister, even if you raised her, you still don’t have the right to make decisions for her.”
Jiang Yunxi nearly crushed her teeth. Even though every word Shen Ya said was reasonable, Qiao Xi was still just an immature child in her eyes. Jiang Yunxi challenged her: “In what capacity are you speaking for her?”
Shen Ya answered without hesitation: “Her lover.”
The other end of the phone fell silent. Just when Shen Ya thought Jiang Yunxi was about to hang up, the voice came through the phone again: “Monday night, I hope you’ll be on time.”
Shen Ya chuckled: “Naturally.”
The call was disconnected. Shen Ya moved the phone away from her ear and exhaled. She had expected Jiang Yunxi to scold her fiercely, but the outcome was much better than she had imagined.
Thinking back, even though she and Jiang Yunxi had known each other for so many years, they had never truly understood each other. Even the feelings she had for Jiang Yunxi back then were now questionable in her heart.
She didn’t know what love was before, but now, looking through the glass at the person sleeping in the bed, the word love suddenly became tangible.
