Xu Qingyi glanced at the bottle of liquor. Aside from the first sip being unpleasant, it actually seemed a bit tasty.

She reached out to take a closer look at the label, thinking she might have a couple of sips later when she wanted to chase that feeling.

But just as her hand stretched out, Shi Qing also hurriedly tried to stop her, while another hand reached over almost simultaneously.

Xu Qingyi’s hand, which was reaching for the bottle, was enveloped by a broad palm.

She looked up and saw Shen Yanzhou’s indifferent gaze sweep over her hand before he directly took the bottle, poured himself a glass, and drank it.

Then he poured another.

Just as the bottle emptied, he casually tossed it aside, not sparing her a glance the entire time.

Xu Qingyi’s sudden craving for alcohol instantly faded.

Xu Qingyi had originally intended to go back on her own, but Shi Qing said someone would take her home and led her to the car to wait.

When someone opened the car door and sat beside her, Xu Qingyi squinted slightly to get a look.

Shen Yanzhou heard her mumble and turned his head slightly to look at her, but no follow-up came.

Shen Yanzhou asked Uncle Pang to turn up the car’s air conditioning a bit.

The car moved slowly, but just after passing an intersection, Xu Qingyi began to frown and whimper.

The car came to a stop.

Shen Yanzhou quickly got out, intending to have her step out from his side. After waiting a moment, he realized she hadn’t moved.

He spoke to her from outside the car, “Get out first.”

Xu Qingyi immediately turned to look at Shen Yanzhou.

The person outside was backlit, his face unclear. Xu Qingyi’s wariness deepened, and she suddenly said coldly to Uncle Pang, “You get out! I’ll drive myself!”

Then she backed away, shifting toward the other door, reaching back to open it.

Shen Yanzhou stood outside the car, watching her struggle with the door, and reminded her, “Be careful with your nails.”

Xu Qingyi paused for a moment, her nails did hurt a little.

This time, Shen Yanzhou didn’t close the door, leaving it open for her, then circled back to the other side and opened that door.

“Are you going to throw up?” he asked.

Xu Qingyi struggled with her whole body resisting. “Don’t… don’t touch me!”

“If you’re not throwing up, then get back in the car?” Shen Yanzhou asked.

Xu Qingyi sneered, “You think I’m stupid?”

Getting back in the car would be like a lamb walking into a wolf’s den.

Shen Yanzhou held her arm, turned, and knocked on the car body, telling Uncle Pang, “Go wait over there first.”

Her apartment wasn’t far, so he decided to walk her there. Otherwise, she’d probably end up wrecking the car.

Shen Yanzhou hadn’t expected her resistance to be so intense. After crossing the intersection and reaching the storefronts, she struggled so hard to break free that she practically shed her short jacket like a snake shedding its skin.
