Savage Kiss - Chapter 89
It was already this late, and seeing how utterly exhausted he was, Xu Qingyi ultimately couldn’t bring herself to refuse him.
She was also extremely tired today. After entering the room, she went to prepare a glass of honey water for him.
Shen Yanzhou had been in the bathroom for a long time without coming out. Xu Qingyi went over and knocked on the door, “Are you throwing up?”
She twisted the doorknob and entered. Shen Yanzhou was merely leaning with both hands on the sink, he hadn’t been vomiting.
“I made you some honey water. Go drink a few sips before sleeping,” she said naturally, helping him out of the bathroom and onto the sofa, then handing him the honey water.
Xu Qingyi didn’t notice that throughout the entire time, Shen Yanzhou was watching her with a deep, intense gaze.
She didn’t know that back when Shen Yanzhou had first been sent abroad by his family, he had often gotten drunk, but no one had ever cared for or looked after him like this.
Shen Yanzhou took several sips from the cup she handed him, then rested his head on her shoulder.
Xu Qingyi felt a bit helpless.
She had just finished taking care of Shen Yuqiao, and now she was back looking after him. Had she owed the two brothers something in her past life?
“Go to sleep, alright? I need to rest too, I’m really tired,” she said, trying to nudge Shen Yanzhou’s arm.
He hummed in response, but his body showed no intention of moving.
“Let me help you back,” she said, standing up and preparing to guide him back to the master bedroom while she took the smaller bedroom for herself.
Only the master bedroom had an ensuite bathroom, just in case he felt nauseous or needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
But as soon as Xu Qingyi stood up, Shen Yanzhou pulled her back down.
The moment she sat on his lap, he leaned his head against her, gently nuzzling her neck. Whether he was speaking or not, he let out a soft, contented, and indistinct murmur.
After a long moment, he finally asked, “Can I kiss you?”
Xu Qingyi turned her head to look at him, about to refuse, but he was already cupping her face, lifting his head to kiss her.
His movements weren’t forceful or particularly aggressive, they were gentle and lingering.
“I won’t do anything else,” he murmured softly.
He just wanted to kiss her.
Earlier that evening, Shen Yanzhou had been reflecting for a long time. Her emotions had been fluctuating, and he had wondered if she was jealous of the girl at the hotel front desk.
Now, seeing that she seemed fine again, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Xu Qingyi didn’t refuse. Later, he actually stopped on his own, his slightly intoxicated gaze soft and indulgent. “Go to sleep. Don’t worry about me. Sleep in tomorrow morning, I’ll have breakfast ready for you.”
She nodded, truly exhausted.
However, Xu Qingyi didn’t dare sleep in. The next day, before 8 a.m., she was already awake, unable to sleep because she was worried about the photos.
She got up and looked outside. Shen Yanzhou had left breakfast on the table and was already gone.
Only then did she contact Shen Yuqiao.
The first call went unanswered again?
Xu Qingyi’s brows furrowed tightly. Her means of contacting Shen Yuqiao were too limited, and she couldn’t reach him through anyone else. If the call didn’t go through, her only option was to go to the villa to find him.
Please don’t let him have passed out again.
Without even bothering to eat breakfast, Xu Qingyi quickly washed up and headed straight out.
Not long after she started the car, Shen Yanzhou passed by her on the roadside.
Shen Yanzhou paused, turned to look at her car, and frowned slightly.
He wanted to ask what was so urgent, but remembering her mood from the previous night, he decided against it. He would wait for her to return before asking.
Shen Yuqiao’s phone was still unreachable.
The phone kept vibrating beside him, but no one had the time to answer it.
When the chief assistant couldn’t reach him at first, he didn’t think much of it. It wasn’t until the scheduled meeting time arrived and Shen Yuqiao still hadn’t shown up that he realized something might be wrong.
Because Shen Yuqiao was never late.
By the time the chief assistant arrived at the villa, Shen Yuqiao was still lying in bed. He immediately called an ambulance and rushed him to the hospital as quickly as possible.
Xu Qingyi’s car passed the ambulance at the entrance of the villa area.
Of course, she had no idea that Shen Yuqiao was inside. She parked her car at the entrance of his villa, rang the doorbell several times, but there was no response.
With no other options, she decided to go to his company to look for him.
Just as she made this decision, her phone rang, an unfamiliar number.
Xu Qingyi hadn’t checked the online public opinion that morning and was afraid it might be someone calling to harass her. She had experienced such things at work before, and it was never pleasant.
After hesitating for a moment, she finally answered.
“Hello, I am the chief assistant to President Shen. I am handling your matter,” said a highly professional voice on the other end.
Teng Fei hadn’t originally planned to return this call, but recalling that Shen Yuqiao had asked him to handle it late last night, he figured it must be important and decided to respond.
Xu Qingyi quickly replied, “Hello! Has it been resolved?”
Teng Fei: “Sorry, there’s an urgent matter at the moment. I’ll notify you once it’s handled.”
Xu Qingyi breathed a sigh of relief. “Okay, thank you!”
After hanging up, she realized she should have asked how long it might take.
Now, all she could do was wait.
She waited the entire day, until 8 p.m., with no updates.
Xu Qingyi tried calling Shen Yuqiao again, but he still didn’t answer.
…
Shen Yuqiao had initially been taken to Beijing General Hospital. The emergency department diagnosed him with a mild acute cerebral hemorrhage, but the most authoritative specialist in the field was abroad.
After weighing the options, Teng Fei arranged for Shen Yuqiao to be transferred overseas, specifically to the hospital where the specialist was currently participating in a consultation. The process was complicated, and Teng Fei was so busy he barely had time to breathe, let alone attend to Xu Qingyi’s matter.
Xu Qingyi had stayed home all day since returning in the morning, too afraid to check the internet.
She didn’t need to look to know the photos would have spread even further. By the next day, her personal information would likely be exposed.
And then, everyone would assume she was the subject of all those photos.
After failing to reach Shen Yuqiao, she tried contacting two social media platforms.
She dialed the customer service hotlines she could find online, asking to speak with the advertising managers, but they dismissed her outright.
Beyond that, ordinary people had no way to contact platform administrators.
No matter how much she racked her brain, Xu Qingyi couldn’t figure out who would go to such lengths to ruin her.
Sure enough, after staying up all night, Xu Qingyi watched helplessly as she became the center of a scandal involving explicit photos.
She had no idea how netizens had dug up old photos of her from her school or work days and combined them with the private images.
She hadn’t gone online, but she saw the discussions in the gaming team group chat, where everyone was enthusiastically talking about it.
“Anyone in the group know how to make GIFs? Look at that face and figure, absolutely stunning!”
“Who knows which old man she stripped for? What a waste of a beauty.”
As the team captain, Mi Lian stepped in during the peak of the discussion:
“You can look at this stuff online if you want, but don’t share it privately. It’s illegal.”
But the group’s otaku only got more out of hand, photoshopping the private images with their own pictures to create various animated GIFs of themselves ‘interacting’ with her.
Xu Qingyi felt a wave of disgust and said, “Be careful, the group might get banned.”
Then she exited the chat. She didn’t even dare to retort, afraid that getting too worked up would make her seem like she was admitting guilt and invite a collective attack.
The internet was truly terrifying, people just followed the crowd blindly. Even she was starting to believe that those were indeed her private photos.
When Shen Yanzhou knocked on her door, she opened it and didn’t bother to control her expression, simply staring back at him.
