Savage Kiss - Chapter 85
Xu Qingyi opened her mouth slightly. He really…
“Wear it if you want.” Her voice was soft, deliberately avoiding looking at him.
Shen Yanzhou, however, lifted her face. “You agree?”
How could she possibly disagree?
He produced a ring from somewhere and handed it to her, his low, husky voice sounding utterly justified. “I’ve had too much to drink, I’m seeing seven or eight fingers. Could you help me put it on?”
Xu Qingyi was amused by his clumsy excuse.
She took his hand, and Shen Yanzhou asked her to put it on the index finger of his right hand.
Xu Qingyi was puzzled. “Is there a rule? Can’t it be another finger?”
Shen Yanzhou leaned in slightly, pressing her against the doorframe. “It symbolizes being passionately in love.”
The moment the ring slid on, he lifted her chin and kissed her deeply.
Afraid he might lose control, Xu Qingyi tried hard to remind him that it was late.
Besides, they’d already done it twice on the flight back today, they ought to take care of their bodies.
He rested his chin on her shoulder, calming his breathing.
When he left, he let her enter first.
Xu Qingyi keyed in the passcode. She was truly exhausted today.
Just before stepping inside, she remembered something and turned back to look at him. “Um… about the house next door, can I go in and look around occasionally?”
Shen Yanzhou stared at her intently. He had thought she would be angry.
After all, he had gone too far that day, pushing her a bit too hard.
Xu Qingyi said, “I saw it’s full of fitness equipment. Could I use it to exercise sometimes?”
Only then did Shen Yanzhou curve his lips slightly. “The passcode is the same as yours.”
Xu Qingyi: “……?”
Shen Yanzhou escorted her inside and closed the door for her. At the last moment, it seemed he whispered a “thank you.”
The ring glinted brightly before her eyes.
Xu Qingyi went to retrieve the ring and tried it on her own index finger. Surprisingly, it fit perfectly.
She put it back, storing it in the same drawer as the gold bracelet Shen Yanzhou had given her.
She went to bed early that night. Starting tomorrow, she would be busy designing new products.
She had given herself only a week to complete the new designs.
After her trip to Yun County, she had gathered plenty of inspiration. After organizing her thoughts, she dove right in.
This time, her new product wasn’t just a standalone non-disposable item, it directly incorporated a pleasure chair, combining them into a single product.
After finalizing all the data and materials and before molding the prototype, she decided to double-check everything. Xu Qingyi wanted to take another look at that fitness chair next door.
Shen Yanzhou had mentioned he rarely came over, and she’d heard him say he was going into the city this morning. Without bothering to inform him, she headed straight there.
Xu Qingyi needed to measure the chair’s dimensions, length, width, and height, to compare them with her own height and calculate proportional data. This would allow customers to select the appropriate size based on their own measurements.
Once she was nearly done, she lay down on the chair to test it.
As luck would have it, the lock clicked, and the door swung open.
Xu Qingyi, her mind preoccupied with work data, didn’t react immediately. She remained in that position, merely lifting her head to look over.
Shen Yanzhou was even more stunned than she was.
He took a long stride inside, even doubting for a moment whether he had entered the wrong house.
By the time he closed the door behind him, Xu Qingyi had finally sat up, her ears burning uncontrollably.
A glint of amusement flickered in Shen Yanzhou’s eyes as he asked knowingly, “What are you reminiscing about?”
Xu Qingyi picked up her phone and turned off the screen, preventing him from seeing the dense data displayed.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” she blurted out instinctively.
Shen Yanzhou gave a slight smile. “Isn’t this my house?”
Xu Qingyi pressed her lips together. “Then you use it. I’ll head over first.”
She thought he had come to work out. Since she had already compared most of the data, she could figure out the rest through deduction on her own.
Shen Yanzhou took a long stride and blocked her path.
He grabbed her wrist, pulling her close. “Seems like it’s better when two people use it together.”
It had only been three or four days since they last saw each other.
Xu Qingyi always felt his presence was too intense, burning with a heat that suddenly made her a bit afraid.
“What’s wrong?” Shen Yanzhou keenly noticed, looking down at her.
Knowing she might still be wary from last time, he softened his voice. “I’ll restrain myself.”
As it turned out, you really can’t trust what men say.
Xu Qingyi was grateful she lived next door; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to make it back.
While Shen Yanzhou was showering and took off his ring to rinse, Xu Qingyi pretended not to see but couldn’t help saying, “Next time, take it off first. Don’t break it and then make me pay for it later…”
Then she immediately changed the subject: “I’m heading over first.”
Taking advantage of him being undressed, she made her escape.
The next day, Xu Qingyi went to the workshop to shape the initial prototype. By Saturday, it was fully completed and directly shipped to President Ke.
The product testers for this item were all first-time collaborators, and it received unanimous positive feedback.
Then it went on sale by the merchant, waiting to see the sales performance.
On Sunday, the first day of sales, by the next day, Ke Yan directly sent her a “thumbs up” emoji. [As expected of you!]
[For the next negotiation with Tianhua’s marketing department, bring this product. It has everything, design, novelty, and buzz!]
Only then did Xu Qingyi realize that President Ke had been following up on the container matter recently.
She casually mentioned: [Is the heir of Tianhua your classmate?]
Xu Qingyi: [?]
[That’s what he told the marketing manager. I overheard it.]
It had been a long time since Xu Qingyi had contacted Shi Qing.
After the incident last time, Shi Qing seemed to have become much more low-key, noticeably reducing the times he took the initiative to seek her out. So, he had been busy with this.
She should thank him someday.
After putting down her phone, Xu Qingyi went to tidy up the workshop. She had been working non-stop these past few days, and scraps and leftover materials were still scattered on the floor.
Just as she finished cleaning and was too tired to move, Wu Yi suddenly contacted her on WeChat.
Seeing Wu Yi’s message suddenly perked her up.
Wu Yi: [Teacher Xu, did your friend make these things? Does she need investment?] Although she didn’t say it directly, Xu Qingyi understood, Wu Yi’s indifference had at least improved.
So, had she seen the investment potential in this industry?
Xu Qingyi quickly replied: [I’ll ask her.]
Ke Yan had built her business step by step without seeking investment; whenever she mentioned what she did, people would scoff.
But who wouldn’t want to grow their business?
Before Xu Qingyi could contact Ke Yan, Wu Yi followed up: [Are you a partner?]
Xu Qingyi felt there was no need to hide anything from Wu Yi anymore. [I’m just the designer.]
Wu Yi’s status showed “typing” for a while.
Xu Qingyi waited patiently.
Until she received: [Can this product be customized for individuals?]
Xu Qingyi had never considered this direction before, but the moment Wu Yi asked, she sensed an untapped potential market.
Suppressing a bit of inexplicable excitement, Xu Qingyi asked Wu Yi: [Can we meet to discuss this in detail?]
Wu Yi quickly sent back a smiling emoji.
