Savage Kiss - Chapter 83
The first-class cabin was relatively quiet, with only an unfamiliar movie playing on the screen.
Shen Yanzhou opened a box of premium pastries and placed it on the table in front of her, along with a small cup of warmed milk. “Eat,” he said.
Xu Qingyi had no appetite. “I’m going back to my seat.”
She had no idea how to open the first-class cabin door. Turning her head, she silently looked at him, seeking help.
Shen Yanzhou acted as though he hadn’t noticed, scooping a spoonful of pastry and feeding it to her. “Is it good? If not, you can complain about them.”
Xu Qingyi: “…”
She nodded.
The window-side seat in the cabin had been unfolded and flattened by him, turning it completely into a bed.
Shen Yanzhou pulled her over to sit down. He could feel her stiffness and slight resistance, and he looked up at her.
“You were fine at home, but as soon as it’s time to return to Beijing, you start thinking about how to get rid of me?”
He had noticed her absent-mindedness during meals over the past two days.
Xu Qingyi wasn’t deliberately targeting him, but she really wasn’t in the mood. She wanted to wait until Xu Chen’s surgery was over, maybe then she could negotiate with Shen Yuqiao and change the terms of their deal.
“Because of that guy from the other night?” Shen Yanzhou suddenly asked.
At first, Xu Qingyi didn’t even realize who he was referring to.
Then she remembered, the guy from the bar who had texted her.
The guy had introduced himself, talked about his job, his usual hobbies, and then said he genuinely liked her. In this bizarre and flashy society, such straightforward and clumsy sincerity was rare.
Of course, it meant nothing to Xu Qingyi. She had only glanced at the message.
But since Shen Yanzhou asked, she remained silent, neither confirming nor denying.
Shen Yanzhou suddenly laughed. “Then I’m relieved.”
“If you got tired of Shi Qing that quickly, compared to him, my shelf life is longer.”
Xu Qingyi sometimes couldn’t understand his train of thought.
If she were really that kind of person, wouldn’t he mind?
“You should go see a doctor,” Xu Qingyi suggested seriously, shifting slightly away from him. “Love addiction might be a disease.”
Shen Yanzhou seemed to smile. “It depends on the person.”
Plenty of girls had thrown themselves at him, but he had never fallen for any of them, had he?
“Speaking of which, isn’t it possible that the problem lies with you?” He also looked thoughtful and serious.
Aside from her, he had never acted this way toward anyone else.
Xu Qingyi shot him a glance. “Open the door for me.”
Shen Yanzhou remained seated, even leaning back slightly. “Finish the pastry, and you can leave. I won’t touch you.”
Xu Qingyi thought he probably wasn’t that crazy, dutifully seeking thrills for her at an altitude of over ten thousand meters.
She was a little hungry anyway. When she was at the airport, she had checked the food options, but they were too expensive, so she had planned to just eat the in-flight meal.
She sat back down, finished the palm-sized pastry, and drank the small cup of warm milk.
A slow, leisurely complaint came from behind her. “Didn’t even think to save some for me?”
Xu Qingyi was taken aback.
She turned to look at him. “Haven’t you eaten?”
Shen Yanzhou suddenly pulled her over. “No, I’m very hungry now. What do you think I should eat?”
Xu Qingyi couldn’t break free, so she could only try to move as far away from the bed as possible.
“You can ask the flight attendant to bring another portion.”
In first class, you could have whatever you wanted.
“I’ve already instructed them not to bother me throughout the flight.”
Shen Yanzhou gripped her wrist and bent it backward, pinning both her hands behind her back, leaving her unable to brace against the edge of the bed or push him away.
Xu Qingyi suddenly lost the use of her hands, and without support, her body fell straight against his chest.
She did her best to glare at him. “You said you wouldn’t touch me.”
Shen Yanzhou shifted slightly, one hand still holding her wrists behind her back while the other wrapped around the nape of her neck, his breath drawing closer.
As he neared, no matter how hard Xu Qingyi tried to control it, her breathing grew erratic.
Shen Yanzhou pressed his thin lips against her eyelid, his voice low and husky. “I said I wouldn’t touch you, but I didn’t say I wouldn’t touch it.”
Xu Qingyi truly had no resistance to his words.
Ever since she had told him before that she was highly sensitive to him, Shen Yanzhou often seemed to deliberately torment her.
But today, she was determined not to indulge him, or else she would only fall deeper under Shen Yuqiao’s control, heading down a path of no return.
Unable to move or resist with the rest of her body, Xu Qingyi could only use her legs.
She thrashed about wildly, trying to open the door.
Somehow, her kicking attracted the flight attendant.
“Hello, sir, ma’am, is there anything you need?”
Xu Qingyi thought this would finally end the situation, but though she heard the flight attendant’s voice, she couldn’t see her.
Shen Yanzhou moved her to the inner side, sat on the edge, and reached out to open the door slightly. “It was an accidental touch. No need to come again.”
The flight attendant never looked up, she had been kneeling on the floor to serve. After hearing Shen Yanzhou, she respectfully stood up, lowered her voice, averted her gaze, and left.
Shen Yanzhou closed the door once more.
Turning back, he looked at her, no longer as aggressive as before. He simply sat beside her and took her hand.
Slowly, he began to caress her palm.
He often used this trick, paired with his lowered, deep, ink-black eyes, making it all too easy to bewitch her.
In the brief moment Xu Qingyi was distracted, he leaned in and kissed her.
It was that kind of kiss, seemingly tentative but impossible for her to resist, and when she was too dazed to react, he deepened it.
Xu Qingyi hesitated even as she sank deeper, her hands seemingly pushing him away all along, yet she only fell further.
When she glanced up and saw the camera, she jolted in alarm and reminded Shen Yanzhou.
“It’s off,” he murmured hoarsely. “I won’t let you get into trouble, no matter what.”
His voice was so soft, like a promise, making it hard not to be moved.
Outside the window, clouds drifted by, and Xu Qingyi felt she was floating even higher than those clouds.
She was truly experiencing the consequences of having told him she was “bored” back then.
The plane landed.
Xu Qingyi had intended to leave on her own, but because they had upgraded to first class, dedicated staff escorted them through the VIP passage out of the airport.
Liang Fanglin was waiting outside in the car to pick them up. When he saw Shen Yanzhou and Xu Qingyi emerge together, his eyebrows shot up in surprise, clearly happy for his boss.
Those past few days, Shen Yanzhou had been listless and distracted, anyone could tell he was heartbroken, but no one dared ask, afraid of hurting his pride.
To think he had won her back, what good news!
Liang Fanglin asked, “Brother Zhou, Brother Ma is hosting a birthday dinner tonight. Are you going?”
Shen Yanzhou glanced at Xu Qingyi.
Ma Xu had always been kind to her. If Xu Qingyi hadn’t heard about it, that would be one thing, but now that she knew, she felt she ought to go and offer her blessings.
But she didn’t say anything at the time, and it wasn’t until the car dropped her off at her apartment building that she spoke.
As she got out of the car, she asked Shen Yanzhou, “What are you all giving as gifts? I’ll go pick one out later so we don’t end up buying the same thing.”
Shen Yanzhou’s calm gaze suddenly fixed on her.
Did she even know what it meant to willingly accompany someone to celebrate their friend’s birthday?
