Savage Kiss - Chapter 5
“Coming or not?” Shen Yanzhou loosened his grip slightly and asked her again.
It felt like a threat, if she didn’t go with him, he’d devour her right then and there.
Xu Qingyi, overwhelmed with desire, instead leaned in to kiss his lips first. “Where do you live?”
Shen Yanzhou studied her dazed expression up close and deliberately replied, “No place. I stay at the repair shop.”
Her cat-like eyes shimmered. “Want to come to mine?”
She kissed him, clumsy yet intoxicating.
Shen Yanzhou’s Adam’s apple bobbed deeply. After holding back for a few seconds, he finally cupped her face and kissed her hard, abruptly undoing her seatbelt.
Getting out of the car, he circled to her side, pulled her out, and pinned her against the car for another fierce kiss.
When he tugged her to leave, Xu Qingyi lifted her arms to cover her face in embarrassment, her voice trembling slightly. “I, my legs feel weak.”
Shen Yanzhou seemed to smirk before bending down to scoop her up.
His arms were strong. All the way back to the apartment, he carried her so steadily he barely seemed out of breath, the raw tension between them enough to fuel fantasies.
In the elevator, he feigned leaning in to kiss her again, but Xu Qingyi pushed him away. She planned to live here long-term and didn’t want prying eyes catching her private moments.
Shen Yanzhou didn’t insist, suppressing his heavy breathing until they finally reached the sixth floor.
At the door, he set her down.
She entered the passcode, and the moment the door opened, he pushed her against the wall by the shoe cabinet.
The kiss started wild and relentless, but later, he was surprisingly patient.
Remembering that day, Xu Qingyi poked him. “Can you… wear gloves?”
The man’s scorching gaze locked onto her. “You sure you mean gloves and not condoms?”
She bit her lip lightly.
Shen Yanzhou understood.
With a faint chuckle, he kissed her ear and murmured hoarsely, “I’m clean.”
The entire time, she was relaxed, thoroughly enjoying herself, pushed to the brink more than once.
As a designer, she usually gave her creations full marks at most. For Shen Yanzhou, she’d give 101.
That extra point wasn’t out of fear he’d grow arrogant, he had simply introduced her to a whole new world.
Outside, the rain poured until midnight.
So did they.
The soiled bedsheets were all stripped and washed by Shen Yanzhou.
Once everything was cleaned and tidied, Xu Qingyi lay on the fresh sheets.
Propped against the headboard, she asked, “Were you in a bad mood earlier?”
“Shen Yanzhou,” he emphasized, wanting her to remember. “My name.”
He even traced the characters on the sheets with his still-damp fingers.
Xu Qingyi’s heart itched as she watched, offering a polite compliment. “It’s nice.”
Shen Yanzhou chuckled for some reason before saying seriously, “I’m in a better mood now.”
She nodded. “You… I’ve never had a guy stay over. Maybe you should go back to the repair shop?”
He studied her for a few seconds.
Xu Qingyi was perfectly calm, they were both adults, just two people willingly crossing the line for one night of recklessness.
The only hitch was the rain outside, making her seem a little cold.
She expected him to be angry, but instead, he said, “Not letting men stay over is a good habit.”
Then he asked, “Will you be okay alone?”
Qingyi smiled. “Nothing’s going to happen. I’ll probably sleep till noon tomorrow.”
“No work?” Shen Yanzhou asked.
She avoided social ties, what they’d done was already crossing a line. Her profession was absolutely off-limits.
He didn’t press further, grabbing his clothes and leaving without even drying his hair.
After a couple of steps, Shen Yanzhou glanced back. “Unblock me on WeChat?”
Xu Qingyi nodded. “There’s an umbrella by the door. Take any one.”
The moment she said it, she regretted it.
Wouldn’t that mean he’d have to come back another day to return it?
“Alright.” Shen Jianzhou turned to look at her. “Are you going to sleep now?”
At that distance and under the bedroom lighting, his features looked exceptionally handsome.
Xu Qingyi stared at him, puzzled.
He said, “If you’re not sleeping, I’ll buy you some medicine and bring it over, just in case it swells tomorrow.”
As his gaze settled on her, even though she knew he couldn’t see, Xu Qingyi instinctively pressed her legs together under the blanket. “No need.”
Shen Jianzhou studied her for a couple of seconds. “Call me if there’s any problem. My phone is always on.”
As he spoke, he tapped on his screen and sent her his phone number via WeChat.
Xu Qingyi opened the WeChat transfer interface. “Let me give you some money.”
Shen Jianzhou turned fully toward her, his brow twitching slightly. “What for?”
Xu Qingyi: “Even though it was kind of an accident, your skills were really good. Is 2,000 enough?”
Shen Jianzhou narrowed his eyes slightly. “What are you talking about?”
“Are you treating me like a prostitute?”
From the way his eyes narrowed, Xu Qingyi sensed a hint of danger.
But she was sincere. He juggled multiple jobs and even stood up for her. Even though she was struggling, she felt she couldn’t take advantage of him.
Besides, she only wanted this one time, a clean transaction with no lingering entanglements.
She looked at him earnestly. “I didn’t mean it like that. You can think of it as medical expenses.”
Shen Jianzhou pressed his tongue against his canine tooth and suddenly laughed, though it seemed a bit forced. “Thanks a lot.”
Xu Qingyi watched him leave. The WeChat transfer remained unclaimed.
She figured she’d resend it after it was automatically refunded the next day.
The room fell silent. Xu Qingyi’s body was exhausted, but her mind was buzzing, making sleep impossible.
An email from Director Zhang arrived, clearly stating the final deadline and even calculating her breach penalty down to the last cent!
Considering Zhang Jinsi had already transferred the payment in advance last night, she dutifully worked on the final design piece.
To her surprise, the revisions and refinements went unusually smoothly!
Seizing the momentum, she completed all the procedures, ready to mail it back to Zhang Jinsi the next day.
By 4 a.m., she was finally exhausted, her whole body aching as she collapsed onto the bed.
She slept until noon.
When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was a WeChat message from Shen Jianzhou.
[Medicine is hanging on the doorknob]
She opened the door, peeked out, and brought the package inside. After washing up, she applied a bit of the ointment, it felt surprisingly soothing.
She still replied: [Thank you]
Then she urged Shen Jianzhou: [Please accept the payment]
The other end might not have seen the message yet no response.
After washing her face, Xu Qingyi placed the design piece and materials in the password-protected locker by the door and arranged for a courier to pick it up.
While sipping milk, she stared at Ke Yan’s email on her tablet.
Her new designs were always contracted as products, not personal commitments. Once Director Zhang received the package and paid her, their contractual relationship would automatically end.
She had already clicked into the [Reply] interface but hesitated, deciding to wait until Zhang confirmed receipt before responding cautiously.
Same-city deliveries were fast, but verification and payment would take at least until tomorrow.
After eating something, she thought about sleeping again but found her mind brimming with fresh creative ideas. She immediately got up to jot them down, planning to start work as soon as she signed the contract with Director Ke!
This burst of inspiration reminded her of last night’s indulgence.
It was as if she had caught the scent of her muse, and suddenly, she felt tempted to maintain this kind of relationship with him.
It would benefit her work and also satisfy her skin hunger.
She picked up her phone and sent a message to Shen Yanzhou:
“If you don’t take it this time, there won’t be a next time.”
