Savage Kiss - Chapter 45
Shen Yanzhou knocked on her door. She had just entered and hadn’t locked it yet. As she walked over to close it again, Shen Yanzhou effortlessly pushed the door open with his strong arm and stepped inside.
He pinned her against the wall. “I’ll let you hit me back, okay? However you want to do it.”
Xu Qingyi looked up at him. “Do you think this kind of thing is no big deal?”
Shen Yanzhou immediately dropped all his playfulness and turned serious. “I’m sorry.”
She asked him, “If one day in the future, someone forces you to make a choice, will you sacrifice me like this too?”
After the deal with the boss ended, would Shen Yanzhou want to kill her?
Shen Yanzhou lowered his gaze, meeting her eyes. “I won’t.”
She struggled slightly, trying to break free from his embrace, but Shen Yanzhou only tightened his hold.
He took her wrist. “Does it still hurt?”
She tried to pull her hand away. Being this close to him always made her want to press even closer.
But last night had been too rough, her body couldn’t take it.
“Are you uncomfortable down there too?” Shen Yanzhou asked bluntly, not shying away from the topic at all.
“I brought some ointment,” he said.
Xu Qingyi finally looked up at him and gave a vague smile. “Planning to use it on Miss Shen?”
She had already rejected him, yet he still brought that kind of ointment.
Shen Yanzhou frowned earnestly. “There’s nothing between her and me.”
Xu Qingyi pulled her hand back and reluctantly extricated herself from his arms, her face cold and expressionless. “I need to go back today. I have things to do.”
Shen Yanzhou knew she was angry and could only reply softly, “Alright.”
Originally, Xu Qingyi had wanted to ask him to help modify her third upgraded product, but she didn’t want him to know she was in this line of work.
She’d wait until she got back, disassembled the item beyond recognition, and then ask him.
Lunch was prepared by Uncle Pang and Ma Xu, both of whom were excellent cooks. Only Xu Qingyi remained silent, eating barely half a bowl before pushing it away.
Ma Xu was startled, this wasn’t her usual appetite.
“Xiao Xu? Does my cooking not suit your taste?”
Xu Qingyi forced a smile. “I might just be a little tired and don’t have much appetite. You all take your time.”
The others exchanged glances before looking at Shen Yanzhou.
After the meal, the yacht returned to the harbor in the coastal district.
As they neared the dock, sensing the tension between the two, Ma Xu asked Xu Qingyi with a smile, “Xiao Xu, we’ve got a gathering tonight. Want to come?”
Uncle Pang and Liang Fanglin wouldn’t dare ask, in their eyes, Brother Zhou was the only one invested, while Xu Qingyi showed no interest in him.
But Ma Xu dared, because he was the only one who knew Shen Yanzhou and Xu Qingyi had already been intimate.
Xu Qingyi smiled politely. “No, thanks. I have plans with someone tonight.”
Plans?
The group all glanced at Shen Yanzhou, clearly, it wasn’t with him.
Shen Yanzhou had no interest in fishing today. He spent the entire trip leaning against the side, pretending to be dead.
When the yacht docked and everyone began disembarking, Xu Qingyi finally asked Uncle Pang, “If you can fix cars, does that mean you can also repair small mechanical parts or spring-loaded devices?”
Uncle Pang didn’t even think before answering, “No, but our boss can!”
“Not only is he handsome, kind, and even-tempered, fluent in several languages and great at business, he’s also a pro at precision instruments, intelligent sensing engineering, all kinds of electrical systems, and more. His expertise is way more advanced than car repairs. There’s nothing he can’t do!”
It was obvious, they were practically writing an 800-word essay praising the boss just to play matchmaker.
Xu Qingyi glanced at Shen Yanzhou over there but ultimately didn’t respond.
Shen Yanzhou walked over, helping her zip up her winter coat. She tried to dodge, but he didn’t let go.
Only after everyone had left did he finally release her, wearing an expression that seemed to be waiting for her to slap him.
When she didn’t move, he pulled her back into the lounge. As soon as the door closed, he started removing her coat.
Xu Qingyi frowned. “What are you doing?”
Shen Yanzhou: “Applying medicine.”
The winter coat was too thick, the sleeves couldn’t be rolled up past her wrists, so it had to come off.
“What did you think I was going to do?” Shen Yanzhou lowered his gaze to look at her, almost as if he were the aggrieved one. “I never dare to act recklessly without your permission, let alone when you’ve been angry all day.”
Xu Qingyi replied flatly, “I’m not angry.”
So, this was what it meant when girls said one thing but meant another. It was Shen Yanzhou’s first time experiencing this, yet he didn’t find it the least bit annoying.
“You keep doing these repetitive motions, it’s easy to develop tendonitis. You need to take care of yourself,” he said.
Xu Qingyi frowned, reacting strongly. “What repetitive motions?”
Shen Yanzhou paused.
His gaze grew suggestive at her sensitive reaction, as if he wanted to laugh but held back. “I wasn’t talking about you playing with toys. I meant your part-time job.”
Xu Qingyi: “…”
A dirty mind hears everything dirty, a note to herself.
She pulled her hand back, refusing the medicine. It was time to leave.
Shen Yanzhou yanked her back, finally unable to hold back as he cupped her face, cold from the day’s distance, and kissed her.
After a while, he let go. Seeing she still didn’t slap him, he kissed her again.
Apart from the lingering kisses, Shen Yanzhou didn’t take it further. Catching his breath, he leaned against her. “Last time, you said some small part fell here. Want to look for it now?”
Xu Qingyi hadn’t actually lost anything, it had just been an excuse to lure him.
“Too tired. I’ll look tomorrow,” she said, her breathing uneven.
Shen Yanzhou seemed to be stalling. “What about the other medicine? Want me to apply that?”
Xu Qingyi looked at him.
He looked back.
The “other medicine” was clearly the one for intimate care.
“I’ll do it myself when I get back,” she said, pushing his hand off the wall.
Just then, a WeChat notification came in.
Xu Qingyi didn’t hide it from him, turning slightly as she opened Shi Qing’s message.
“Weren’t you supposed to keep me company tonight? Where are you?”
“Don’t tell me your nightlife only starts at midnight?”
Coincidentally, Shi Qing had sent a voice message this time.
Shen Yanzhou, of course, heard it, though his expression remained neutral. “Where’s the meetup?”
“I have a membership card for the bar. You can use it.”
Xu Qingyi ignored him, leaving the lounge and heading straight off the yacht.
With her skills, as long as she played a jungler, carrying Shi Qing to ten extra stars wasn’t a problem. Playing with her boosted his win rate, and he’d even stockpiled a few star-boosting cards.
…
After a little over two hours, they finished, still before midnight.
Shi Qing asked over in-game voice chat, “Going to the art academy tomorrow?”
“Yeah, in the afternoon. Seeing when they can assign me work.”
Shi Qing: “With your qualifications, they’ll probably have you start teaching right away.”
Xu Qingyi thought he was just making small talk.
After chatting a bit more, she said goodbye and exited, ready to rest.
Then, a friend request notification popped up at the top of her screen:
[“…” has requested to add you as a friend]
“…”?
At first, she thought it might be Shi Qing’s account, but Shi Qing’s username was just a single dot.
Backing out, she checked the requester’s profile picture and realized it was Shen Yanzhou.
Xu Qingyi couldn’t help but laugh. Even usernames had to be compared? Others had one “water” radical, while his had three.
She knew Shen Yanzhou was testing her, checking if she was still upset. Xu Qingyi knew when to stop and directly accepted his friend request.
But after accepting, she didn’t say a word to him and simply logged off.
Shen Yanzhou took the initiative to message her on WeChat, sending a voice note: “Can I come help you fix your tools tomorrow?”
His deep, magnetic voice sounded especially rich and clear through the phone, what people often referred to as a “bubble voice.”
