Romance Allergy [Book Transmigration] - Chapter 1
The luxurious presidential suite was pitch black with the curtains tightly drawn, the only sound being the faint hum of the air conditioning by her ear.
When Dou Anyao woke up, her mind was still foggy. It took her a while to notice a sliver of light seeping through the gap in the distant curtains, confirming she was still in the world of the living.
And in a rather comfortable place at that.
Feeling the softness of the bed beneath her and the subtle, indescribable fragrance lingering in the air, Dou Anyao frowned and slowly sat up.
Her head throbbed violently, as if strings of firecrackers were exploding inside her skull. She gently massaged her temples, struggling to process the flood of overwhelming information rushing into her mind.
Listening to the unfamiliar voice in her head, one that claimed to be the “Purity Guardian System”, Dou Anyao’s frown deepened.
Before she could ponder further, the door to the ensuite bathroom in the suite suddenly opened.
Instantly, light from the bathroom spilled into the dim bedroom, illuminating the large bed in the center and revealing the figure sitting atop it.
“This is the supermodel cool girl you had a date with last night. Her name is Xu Tianse, 1.8 meters tall, stunning with long legs and a toned midsection, wealthy, owns property, and has a thriving career.”
The emotionless voice of the mysterious system echoed in Dou Anyao’s consciousness.
Supermodel cool girl?
The term was completely foreign to Dou Anyao.
Instinctively, she turned her gaze toward the bathroom door.
The woman who had just finished showering wore a white bathrobe, her damp long hair cascading over her shoulders. As she stepped out, she paused to wipe her feet on the rug by the door, drying the moisture from her soles.
Then, naturally, she lifted her head and walked forward only to meet Dou Anyao’s intense stare from the bed.
She seemed surprised that Dou Anyao was awake, sitting silently in the dark without turning on the lights. A flicker of astonishment passed through her eyes but vanished just as quickly.
With a soft click, the grand chandelier overhead lit up, revealing everything in stark clarity.
In the real world, Dou Anyao was an illustrator who had drawn countless beauties lolis, mature women, elegant and intellectual older sisters but this was the first time she had seen someone more exquisite than any of her artworks.
Jet-black hair cascaded down, her figure so flawless it seemed unreal, her features sharp and sculpted like a master’s carving.
Her skin was pale, glowing under the warm chandelier light like a gentle goddess who had descended to earth, shedding her wings to save mortals.
Yet, the moment she raised her eyes, an aura of regal arrogance emerged, transforming her into a bewitching enchantress who could command life and death with a glance.
Dou Anyao could hear her own heartbeat clearly.
Thump. Thump.
Like the sound of a monkey plunging into water after spotting the moon’s reflection.
How could someone so perfect exist? It was as if she were God’s favorite masterpiece, every detail meticulously crafted.
Dou Anyao reached up and touched her own face. Compared to her, she must have been haphazardly thrown together.
Xu Tianse glanced at Dou Anyao, noting her dazed expression as she sat on the bed touching her face. Without a word, she walked over to the vanity opposite the bed and began her skincare routine.
[To forge friendships, one must treat others with sincerity and uphold purity. Host is hereby ordered to immediately sever all ambiguous ties with Xu Tianse and embrace purity!
Mission reward: 20 points. Mission failure: Immediate termination.]
Sever all ambiguous ties wasn’t that just a breakup? The kind where they’d go their separate ways and never cross paths again.
Although she lacked practical experience, she had watched plenty of TV dramas and read countless novels, this shouldn’t be difficult at all.
Watching the person with their back turned to her, Dou Anyao swallowed hard and cleared her throat lightly. “Um, Xu Tianse…”
Xu Tianse?
The person who had just been called by their full name while applying essence paused abruptly. Like a slow-motion scene, they turned their head gradually at the dressing table to look at the person behind them.
Completely oblivious to the other’s strange reaction, Dou Anyao kept her eyes lowered, carefully weighing her words in her mind. “Here’s the thing, I’ve thought it over, and I feel like we’re just not really compatible. I’m simply not good enough for you. I’m sorry, but you should leave. Let’s not see each other again.”
“…”
Silence.
Deafening silence.
After Dou Anyao blurted out everything she wanted to say in one breath, the bedroom of the suite fell into a deathly stillness.
So quiet that even the sound of their breathing seemed audible.
At first, Dou Anyao was quite satisfied with her performance.
First, she took the blame upon herself. Then, she naturally steered the conversation toward her real intention, the breakup. Finally, she apologized and expressed her wish, subtly hinting that the other person shouldn’t cling to her anymore.
Hmm, a perfectly smooth breakup script, the kind that left no room for negotiation. Flawless.
However, when half a minute passed without any response, Dou Anyao began to feel uneasy.
What was wrong? Was there something off about her breakup speech? Was it not standard enough?
After some thought, Dou Anyao took a deep breath and pretended to remain composed as she lifted her gaze to look at the person not far away.
Clad in a white bathrobe, the person sat upright in a plush chair, legs crossed elegantly. Their long, slender legs peeked out from beneath the robe, so tantalizing it made one’s mouth go dry.
Dou Anyao’s eyes nearly got stuck on them.
Those weren’t just ordinary legs they were the legs of a supermodel.
Fortunately, the system in her mind let out a warning beep. Remembering the consequences of failing the mission, Dou Anyao quickly snapped out of it with a shiver.
She hurriedly looked up and suddenly found herself locked in the other’s dark, indifferent eyes.
Those were eyes brimming with noble arrogance, slightly upturned at the corners beautiful, cold, and untouchable.
Why wasn’t she saying anything? Did she not want to break up? That wouldn’t do. If she refused, Dou Anyao would be the one to die.
Just as Dou Anyao was about to break into a nervous sweat in the air-conditioned room, the other person withdrew their piercing gaze and leisurely smoothed the remaining essence from their palm onto the back of their hand.
Their movements were graceful, their demeanor noble, as if they hadn’t just heard Dou Anyao trying to dump them.
Thoroughly ignored, Dou Anyao scratched her head.
Even though she had no firsthand experience and had only observed from the sidelines, she knew this reaction wasn’t quite right.
Just as she was about to ask the system for help, the other person finally spoke.
“Is this your new trick?”
The woman’s voice, slightly hoarse from prolonged silence, was low and husky, like waves brushing over sand at night, leaving no trace behind.
This was the first time Dou Anyao had heard her voice, and for a moment, she didn’t react.
When Xu Tianse received no reply, she let out an almost imperceptible scoff and stood up, walking toward Dou Anyao with unhurried steps.
The other party’s imposing aura was overwhelming. At one point, Dou Anyao felt like a little white rabbit in the woods, frozen in place by the predatory gaze of a fierce beast, too terrified to even flee.
When the fresh scent of morning dew lingered in her nostrils, a slightly cold hand forcefully gripped Dou Anyao’s chin.
Still sitting on the bed, Dou Anyao leaned back on her hands and looked up at the person towering over her with a disdainful gaze.
The face before her, freshly washed and free of makeup, was tender and beautiful, magnified right in front of her. The alluring red lips parted slightly, but the words that came out weighed like a thousand pounds, crashing onto her heart.
“Are you still half-asleep? As you said, you really aren’t worthy of me. If you hadn’t gone crazy outside my room last night, I wouldn’t have let you in.”
“But you got one thing wrong.”
“This is my room. The one who should get out is you.”
“……”
Dou Anyao was dumbfounded.
Listening to the other’s words and staring at that face, she felt as if she were on the verge of a split personality, dividing into two parts.
One part of her screamed: So beautiful, such a flawless face, I love it, I’m drooling.
The other part was crumbling: What the hell? What’s wrong with the original owner? Couldn’t even afford to book a room?
What did I just say? Help, she must think I’m insane.
System, what do I do?
Am I really going to fail my first mission and go straight back to being a vegetable?
As Dou Anyao frantically scrambled for a response, the other person leaned down, causing long strands of hair to cascade through the air.
A droplet of water, not fully dried, gathered at the tip of a lock and plop, fell right into Dou Anyao’s eye at the exact moment the other blinked.
So, just as Xu Tianse finished speaking, she saw the person before her squeeze her eyes shut tightly. The next moment, a tear the size of a bean rolled slowly down that delicate face.
Xu Tianse, who had just ruthlessly mocked her, fell silent.
Though Dou Anyao was a woman of many schemes, capable of anything for fame and fortune, flirtatious and unrestrained, Xu Tianse had never actually seen her cry before.
Did she… just cry… over a few words?
When the tear sliding down Dou Anyao’s cheek landed on Xu Tianse’s hand, she let go as if scalded, even taking two steps back to distance herself from the bed.
Xu Tianse averted her gaze to the floor, but couldn’t resist glancing back at the figure on the bed.
Dou Anyao wiped the water from her eyes while urgently asking the system what to do next, completely oblivious to the turmoil in the other’s heart.
The Pure System was somewhat useful after all. It suggested, “The priority is cutting off all ambiguous ties. If all else fails, just run.”
Dou Anyao thought that made sense.
So, in Xu Tianse’s eyes, the person who had just burst into tears over her words wiped her eyes fiercely, bravely threw off the covers, grabbed the clothes tossed on the bench at the foot of the bed, and gave a deep bow.
“I’m truly sorry. This is all my fault. I’m petty and rude, utterly unworthy of any connection with you.”
“Being able to interact with you during this time has truly made me very happy, but all good things must come to an end. So let it be, let it end here. Your Highness, this subject… takes his leave.”
In one breath, Dou Anyao finished her long speech and, without looking back, dashed out the door clutching the clothes in her arms.
Xu Tianshi, utterly stunned by her final words, stood frozen in place, completely dumbfounded.
She could only stand there, devoid of any reaction, watching helplessly as Dou Anyao ran off with her clothes.
Was she… here to steal her clothes?
