- Reincarnated as a Sickly Princess, She was Kidnapped by the Evil Dragon Lady
- Chapter 3 - Am I Just a Total Loser?
The truth was that Elysia desperately needed a moment of peace. So much had happened in such a short span of time that she required a quiet space to digest it all. Under the concerned and lingering gazes of her newfound family, she was finally left alone as the bedroom door clicked shut.
With the room finally silent, Elysia let out a long, weary breath. She allowed her cluttered mind to begin sorting through the chaos. Once she was certain no one was watching, she dropped her guard and flopped onto the grand bed like a limp fish. Her amethyst eyes stared blankly at the ceiling, lost in thought.
It took a long time, but she eventually accepted the reality: she had been reincarnated into the body of a beautiful young girl.
Sitting up, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed, intent on seeing what this new world actually looked like. However, her gaze fell upon a pair of adorable bunny slippers resting by the bedside, and she paused.
“Just how old is the owner of this body anyway?” she muttered.
The slippers were so childishly cute that she, a former “tough guy” in her previous life, felt a sudden, inexplicable wave of awkwardness. Still, after a moment of internal debate, she resignedly slipped them on and shuffled over to the window.
It took a surprising amount of effort just to heave the window open. Once it was unlatched, the world outside immediately seized her attention.
She appeared to be situated in a massive city-state or perhaps a kingdom. It was vast, stretching out so far that the horizon seemed unreachable. Her quarters were located in a prime position; from her vantage point, she could see nearly the entire capital sprawling beneath her.
Everything bathed in a picturesque glow. The sun draped the city in a veil of golden silk, and a gentle breeze brushed against her face, tossing her long hair and bringing with it the scent of fresh air. It felt as though every cell in this body was cheering at the sight, perhaps because the previous owner hadn’t looked out at the world in a very long time.
Ancient streets, magnificent architecture, and bustling crowds all unfolded before her. Her interest was piqued by several prominent alchemy workshops and buildings emitting strange, magical auras. She stood on her tiptoes, leaning forward to get a better look at what those structures were for.
It was at that exact moment that the door swung open. A young maid entered, only to see the Princess leaning precariously out of the window on her tiptoes.
The maid turned pale with fright. She dropped the tray of food she was carrying, ignoring the clatter as she lunged forward. She wrapped her arms around Elysia’s waist and yanked her backward with all her might, screaming at the top of her lungs.
“Help! Someone help! The Princess is trying to jump again!!”
The family members, who hadn’t made it very far down the hall, heard the cry and sprinted back in a panic. When they burst into the room, they found the maid death-griping Elysia.
“Your Majesties, please talk some sense into her!” the maid wailed.
The girl didn’t realize that in her frantic struggle to “save” the Princess, she had accidentally caused Elysia to smack her head against the bedpost. Having only just woken up from her previous ordeal, Elysia promptly blacked out again.
“You… you can let go now,” Isabella said, her lip twitching as she took in the scene.
“No, Your Highness! The Princess! She was going to jump!”
“She’s already fainted!” Isabella groaned, stepping forward to scoop Elysia out of the maid’s trembling arms. “Doctor! Get the doctor back here immediately!!”

In the blink of an eye, eight days had passed since Elysia’s arrival.
Over the course of the week, she had gained a comprehensive understanding of her situation and the world she now inhabited. She was also growing accustomed to the limitations of her new form.
First, this was a world of magic—a place where almost everyone could cast spells. Magic permeated every level of society, from simple household cleaning charms to forbidden “Grand Spells” capable of summoning meteors to level entire cities. This magical prowess was necessary to contend with other powerful races: vampires, demons, neutral elves, and the formidable, mysterious dragons.
Unfortunately, according to her family, Elysia possessed zero magical talent. She was one of those rare individuals who simply couldn’t use magic at all.
Elysia didn’t mind this much. After all, she was the youngest daughter of the King—the Fifth Princess. But she was also the most “useless” of Rhodas’s five children.
She had learned that she was twenty years old, yet she could do absolutely nothing. Beyond her lack of magic, her physical constitution was pathetic. At twenty, she stood barely five-foot-three and weighed only ninety pounds. She looked like a stiff breeze could knock her over, which explained why a maid much younger than her had been able to take her down so easily.
Furthermore, Isabella had mentioned a “strange illness.” The original Elysia was unable to focus on any single task like reading or writing for an extended period without fainting.
Elysia concluded that her predecessor had been a literal “vase”, beautiful to look at, but entirely empty of utility. She could understand why the original girl had chosen suicide; it felt as though the heavens had blocked every possible path, leaving her with no choice but to be a parasitic burden. Combined with her incredibly successful siblings, the psychological pressure must have been unbearable.
But the original Elysia was gone. The new Elysia felt none of that shame. In fact, she quite enjoyed the lifestyle.
Having her every need tended to while she spent her days eating and sleeping was nothing short of paradise. To top it off, her parents and siblings seemed to dote on her excessively. They visited her constantly and never treated her with the slightest hint of disdain for her “uselessness.” If anything, they spoiled her more than the others.
“Life is so good here,” Elysia thought as she nibbled on a cherry the maid was feeding her. “Why on earth would the original girl want to end it?”
