- Reincarnated as a Sickly Princess, She was Kidnapped by the Evil Dragon Lady
- Chapter 26 - Meeting Isabella
Despite this, Aria cast another layer of Invisibility Spell on herself and Illycia, causing them to vanish into thin air.
The two held their breath, focusing intently as they waited for their target to arrive.
In the distance, a golden figure gradually materialized, growing clearer with each passing moment. As the figure became distinct, Illycia’s eyes lit up with excitement.
“Do you know her?” Aria asked, noticing Illycia’s reaction.
The approaching figure was none other than Isabella, their second eldest sister, with her flowing golden waves and mature, statuesque bearing.
“She-she-she’s my second eldest sister!” Illycia exclaimed excitedly, rushing forward to greet her.
When Illycia first arrived in this world, Isabella had been the first to play with her and chat with her, treating her with exceptional kindness. Naturally, Illycia had developed a deep affection for Isabella.
Seeing Isabella now filled Illycia with unparalleled joy.
As Illycia jogged closer to Isabella, she noticed a deep frown on her face, which piqued her concern.
However, her immediate priority was to reconnect with her second sister.
“Sister!” Illycia shouted excitedly, running toward Isabella as the Invisibility Spell slowly faded from her body.
Isabella had been overwhelmed by recent events, the pressure nearly suffocating her. She had come to the garden to clear her head.
But as she walked, Illycia’s figure gradually materialized before her, running toward her.
Isabella instinctively wondered if she was hallucinating due to stress and longing for Illycia.
Yet the familiar, affectionate voice ringing in her ears made it feel as if Illycia were truly before her.
Isabella clung to the illusion theory until Illycia threw herself into her arms, leaving her stunned.
Feeling the soft embrace and inhaling the familiar scent, Isabella froze for a moment before shock washed over her.
“Illy… Illycia?”
Isabella tentatively called out to Illycia, who was now in her arms, still finding it hard to believe.
“Long time no see! Did you miss me?”
Illycia lifted her head from Isabella’s chest, tilted her face upward, and grinned mischievously, meeting her second sister’s gaze.
Their eyes locked, and Isabella finally realized that the person before her was indeed her sister.
“Illycia!” Isabella cried out excitedly, wrapping her arms tightly around Illycia and pulling her into a fierce embrace.
Once Isabella realized that Illycia wasn’t a hallucination but a tangible reality, she threw all caution to the wind.
Holding Illycia close, Isabella’s mind raced with countless thoughts.
“I thought… I thought… you…”
Isabella’s voice trembled as she spoke, her arms tightening involuntarily around Illycia.
She had witnessed Illycia being snatched away by the Dragon with her own eyes. The guilt she had carried since then was unbearable.
Fortunately, Illycia had returned to her side, safe and sound.
Thus, no one could have predicted that the first person Illycia would meet upon returning to the Roland Empire was Isabella.
In the following moments, Isabella naturally showered Illycia with warm greetings and inquiries about her whereabouts during her absence.
Illycia introduced Aria to Isabella and recounted the general events of the past few days. However, she deliberately omitted the true reason Aria had captured her, instead offering a vague excuse to brush it aside.
Initially, when Isabella learned that Aria had brought Illycia back, she prepared to thank her. But when she realized that Aria was the very dragon who had abducted Illycia, her guard immediately shot up.
This led to the scene where Isabella abruptly pulled Illycia behind her, confronting Aria with fierce protectiveness.
“Dragon, what trick are you playing now?!”
As Isabella glared at the tall woman before her, the tension in her heart was arguably the greatest she had ever felt in her life.
After all, the person before her had effortlessly rendered over a hundred Overlord Mages and Saint-rank Knights powerless just recently. Now, such a being stood right in front of her. If it weren’t for protecting her sister, Isabella would have fled immediately.
For Illycia’s sake, Isabella’s mind raced frantically, desperately searching for a way to respond.
But faced with such an overwhelming disparity in power, Isabella realized she was utterly helpless. Every strategy she considered was instantly negated by Aria’s sheer strength.
Nearby, Aria watched the scene unfold, feeling an inexplicable irritation rising within her.
This was precisely why Aria had been reluctant to let Illycia come to the Human Race in the first place—she had feared such troublesome situations would arise.
The only way to resolve this was through patient reasoning and explanation, but Aria was hardly one for words.
For a moment, Aria considered simply annihilating the humans before her. But then she remembered her promise to Illycia and forced herself to suppress her frustration.
“In any case, I mean no harm,” Aria said calmly, her gaze shifting from Isabella to Illycia standing behind her.
Seeing Aria’s subtle signal, Illycia stepped forward and tugged at Isabella’s sleeve. “Sister, please calm down… just calm down…”
Seeing Illycia siding with Aria, Isabella couldn’t immediately understand why, but her hostility toward Aria lessened slightly.
However, this reduction in hostility was minimal; her vigilance remained undiminished.
“Sister, it’s okay. I’m here. She won’t hurt you,” Illycia reassured her.
Isabella immediately sensed something odd about Illycia’s words, but the tense situation prevented her from questioning it directly.
Listening to her sister’s words, Isabella guessed that Aria and Illycia must have formed some kind of contract, explaining Illycia’s confidence.
Though she didn’t know the contract’s details, Isabella lowered her guard somewhat.
Meanwhile, Illycia breathed a sigh of relief as she saw Isabella’s expression soften.
