Reborn! Caught Up by the Critically Obsessed Actress - Chapter 43
“Do we have to continue today?”
Song Qingxing looked at the large bathtub before her, which inexplicably brought certain intimate images to mind. She felt a strange weakness in her calves, sensing she might not be able to handle it.
It was already taxing enough with the filming and then accompanying Xie Jingcheng for their ‘fish and water joy’ (euphemism for sex).
However,
It didn’t seem right to refuse the patron so blatantly. Song Qingxing was caught in a dilemma, which is why she only asked the question softly, without any more overt behavior.
“No.”
“People need a balance between work and rest.”
Xie Jingcheng shook her head. Then, she reached for the remote control on the table. With a light press, protective screens rose around the bathtub.
“The hotel’s glass is special. People inside can see out, but those outsides cannot see in.”
Xie Jingcheng gazed at the distant river view, watching the screens close completely, effectively confining the rising steam within the narrow glass enclosure instead of letting it affect the entire room.
It had to be said that the design was quite aesthetically pleasing and added a certain mood.
It seemed somewhat of a waste for Xie Jingcheng to book such a luxurious suite purely for sleeping.
“I had someone prepare some essential oils. Applying them will make your skin smoother.”
Xie Jingcheng noticed Song Qingxing was still dazed.
She reached out and lightly flicked the other woman’s forehead. The force was negligible; it startled her but did no harm.
“What are you standing there for? Go take a bath.”
Song Qingxing felt a little bashful. She glanced around before daring to ask Xie Jingcheng.
“Xie Jingcheng, have you washed yet?”
Xie Jingcheng shook her head.
“But don’t worry, I don’t have the habit of showering cramped together with someone. Besides, you probably can’t accept me doing that right now.”
Although the other woman was willing to spend the night with her, it was only for the sake of resources. Prying opens this little rabbit’s heart would require an unknown amount of effort and time.
But, Xie Jingcheng had all the patience in the world.
“I’ll just stay by the side and assist you.”
If you want someone to adapt to you and develop affection for you, being persistent and shameless is a necessity.
Xie Jingcheng sat to the side, pointing her finger at the toiletries, the meaning clear: wash your hair first, then take a bath.
Song Qingxing couldn’t refuse and began to take off her clothes one by one, like a doll being arranged.
Her porcelain-white legs were tinged with pink, and every step she took stirred Xie Jingcheng’s mind. Xie Jingcheng’s fingers gripped the chair tightly.
She told herself not to think too much.
Hadn’t she had a taste yesterday?
Then today, she should exercise restraint. Excessive indulgence would only frighten a certain person.
Just as she was thinking this, they suddenly heard a commotion outside the door.
“Why can’t I go in!”
The voice was shrill and incredibly penetrating, passing through the thick wooden door and into their ears. Song Qingxing jumped in alarm.
She quickly grabbed the clothes she had set aside and put them on. She had just buttoned two buttons when the door was pushed open.
Xie Jingcheng seemed extremely displeased. After all, she held a room key card. Logically, only the hotel management staff should have a separate spare key card, and now the hotel management had betrayed her, their employer, by giving the card to someone else to open the door.
She had chosen her own family’s hotel, only to find it less secure.
The person who entered was a tall woman, decked out in jewelry, with a pair of captivating, seductive eyes.
“Xie Jingcheng, is this what you call a ‘business trip’?”
Xie Jingcheng stood up, taking a long stride that nearly concealed Song Qingxing behind her. The posture was like a large eagle spreading its wings to protect its chick.
“My business is none of yours.”
Xie Jingcheng’s expression was cold. It was clear she was determined to be the guardian this time. Since she had brought someone to her own hotel and trouble had occurred, she felt responsible.
“How heartbreaking. We grew up together, when did you become so estranged?”
An Wenqing took a step forward. The two stood facing each other almost like needlepoints targeting a wheat awn. In her heart, she felt a profound sadness. No matter how much she pursued, pestered, or boldly declared her love, Xie Jingcheng wouldn’t even look her way.
Yet, Xie Jingcheng immediately got involved with an actress. Why?! Where did she fall short? In terms of family background and looks, she was superior in every way.
“No matter how good a friend is, they wouldn’t interrupt me when I’m dating.”
Xie Jingcheng stepped forward and pushed her away.
Her sharp gaze swept over the hotel staff who had followed.
“Is this how you conduct your business?”
“You grant a stranger the authority to use the hotel room key card.”
“Very well. Call your manager and the owner over. I’d like to hear your explanation.”
Xie Jingcheng was furious.
An Wenqing, however, didn’t continue arguing with her. Her peripheral vision caught sight of Song Qingxing, who was clutching her clothes and shrinking back to the side. An idea immediately struck her.
If she severely humiliated this person, she would surely leave Xie Jingcheng, just like the male and female celebrities who had tried to pursue Xie Jingcheng in the past.
She had dealt with all of them this way.
Having made her decision, An Wenqing subtly shifted her steps and approached Song Qingxing. Before she could raise her hand to push her, however, Xie Jingcheng grabbed her wrist, her brows deeply furrowed, carrying a strong sense of threat.
“An Wenqing, I don’t have time to play out these melodrama clichés with you. My family is not a superficial, snobbish wealthy family. If Qingxing agrees to my pursuit, I will bring her home.”
Song Qingxing: ?
She had just been thinking how incredibly cool and womanly Xie Jingcheng was for stepping in to shield her from the vicious woman!
But the next second, she heard this.
Song Qingxing’s mind instantly filled with a thousand question marks.
When had she agreed to become the daughter-in-law of the Xie family? She hadn’t even had a proper relationship yet, and now she was supposed to get married? This was too tragic.
“Agrees to your pursuit?”
An Wenqing’s shoulders shook. When she curled her lips into a smile, she resembled a seductive, venomous beauty.
“Xie Jingcheng, don’t you think what you’re saying is absurd? So you’re just lovers, and you bought her with money to keep you company.”
Her gaze, like glazed glass, fell upon Song Qingxing’s face, a sneer hanging on her lips.
“What ‘A-list actress’? Turns out you’re just a slut who lets people play with her in bed…”
Before she could finish the last word, Xie Jingcheng finally reached her limit. She directly reached out and shoved the woman out; her voice filled with rage. That roar, suppressed from her throat, was a genuine anger that couldn’t be faked.
“Get out right now.”
“An Wenqing, my relationship with her is voluntary; I sought her out. This has nothing to do with Qingxing.”
After pushing the person out, Xie Jingcheng was about to close the door.
However, her wrist was grabbed tightly. Xie Jingcheng looked down at the hand holding her wrist. The nails were long, adorned with rhinestones, and very beautiful.
Remembering their childhood friendship, Xie Jingcheng hesitated for a moment, but finally hardened her heart, yanked her hand away, and slammed the door shut.
The fingernails scratched her wrist. Xie Jingcheng was, after all, a rich young lady with delicate skin. Tiny beads of scarlet blood immediately welled up, a frightening sight.
