Reborn as an Alpha and Still Wanting to Engage in Lesbian Relationships - Chapter 24.1
There do exist parents in this world who do not love or even dislike their children.
Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many children who do not know their parents or have been abandoned.
“Me wan’ rice rice, sis.” Jiang Man held Wen Qing tightly. “Straight rice rice!”
For the first time, Jiang Man hated that she couldn’t speak clearly yet.
If she could speak clearly, she would definitely tell Wen Qing that in this world, it wasn’t just Aunt Wen Yu who existed.
Aunt Wen Yu might not like Wen Qing, but she herself did! Aunt Xu Nuo, Fang Jin, Mu Qian, Mom, Mother, and so many, many auntie viewers they all liked Wen Qing very, very much!
But luckily, there was nothing that couldn’t be expressed with a hug.
Two chubby little dumplings hugged each other tightly amidst the pile of building blocks.
Wen Qing’s little hands clutched the clothes on Jiang Man’s back tightly as she asked, “Manman, do you straight-like me?”
Of course!
Jiang Man’s gaze was firm and sincere, her honey-colored pupils reflecting Wen Qing’s beautiful face.
It was hard for anyone to doubt the sincerity of a child when being stared at so intently by one.
But Wen Qing was different.
Her upturned, jade-green eyes stared unblinkingly into Jiang Man’s eyes, her chubby little face devoid of any extra expression.
Liar.
Her jade-green eyes locked tightly with the honey-colored ones, and she snorted mockingly in her heart.
It was unclear whether she was mocking Jiang Man’s fickle promise or herself for believing in that fickle promise.
The child who had been unjustly labeled a “liar” remained completely unaware. Instead, she felt even more heartache seeing the “despondent” expression on the beautiful child’s face.
Staring at Wen Qing’s lowered head and despondent expression, Jiang Man’s protective instincts stirred.
Few people could remain unmoved by a beautiful face, especially when that beautiful face showed vulnerability only in front of them!
The adorable child’s round eyes darted around, as if she had made up her mind:
Wen Qing was so delicate, pitiful, fragile, and beautiful, yet she was so disliked by Aunt Wen Yu. She was so pitiful, I must protect her!
The chubby little child suddenly puffed out her chest, her eyes burning with determination as she looked at the beautiful child: Little Man will be Wen Qing’s protector!
The child, who wasn’t even as tall as an adult’s calf, had inexplicably ignited with passion!
Since learning that Aunt Wen Yu detested Wen Qing, Jiang Man had treated her like a precious piece of glass or a delicate flower, showering her with care.
Whether playing or eating, even though she herself was still a little tot, she had already started taking care of another little tot who wasn’t much smaller than her.
After several rounds of hide-and-seek, Jiang Man’s blatant favoritism secretly letting Wen Qing off the hook finally provoked discontent among the other children.
Fang Jin, who was “it” once again, lunged forward and pinned the biased child, who had clearly spotted Wen Qing but pretended not to see her, underneath him. His cheeks puffed out as he accused the biased child: “Pfft, bad!””
Fang Jin, who had once been Man Man’s number one fan, was on the verge of turning from a fan to an anti-fan because of Man Man’s blatant favoritism!
Pinned under the golden-haired little friend, Jiang Man wriggled like a caterpillar a few times but failed to break free.
In a child’s world, things are simple: right is right, wrong is wrong. They couldn’t understand Wen Qing’s grievances, nor could they comprehend Jiang Man’s reasons for being so partial to Wen Qing.
They only knew that the source of Jiang Man’s unfairness was the two-faced troublemaker beside her, who seemed unassuming and non-confrontational but had never once missed a chance to compete with them for Manzai’s attention!
Old grievances and new resentments erupted all at once. The furious little golden retriever pup moved away from Manzai, glaring fiercely at the pup sitting nearby who had just “rescued” Manzai from under her. She couldn’t help but grind her teeth.
The little golden retriever pup believed she and Manzai were the very best of doggy friends. Watching this troublemaker sow discord between them and secretly vie for their good friend’s attention, Fang Jin couldn’t hold back a low, whimpering growl from her throat, much like a puppy.
But Wen Qing paid her no mind, focusing entirely on talking to Manzai and acting coquettishly with her.
In the past, whenever Fang Jin whimpered, Manzai would always come over and pet her!
It was all because of that troublemaker Wen Qing! Manzai had just turned her head, only to be called back by her!
Unable to bear it any longer, the usually naive and sweet pup completely exploded.
She scrambled over to wedge herself between Wen Qing and Manzai, her chubby little body acting like a small wall as she plopped down assertively between the two, separating them.
Wen Qing, whose hand had been holding Manzai’s until the pup pried it apart, tilted her head in confusion at the furious, fuming little one now standing between them with her hands on her hips.
The pup’s language skills were still underdeveloped, her vocabulary pitifully limited. Though she had a belly full of grievances to express, what came out in the end was a series of fierce barks.
Fang Jin barked her arguments with remarkable ferocity!
Even though it was harder to understand than baby talk, her barks carried eighteen different tonal shifts and thirty-eight tremors of grievance. If you ignored the barking, anyone listening might have thought someone was singing a tragic ballad right there.
Her chubby little hands tugging at her pants, Jiang Man’s face flushed red as she strained and, with a final heave, pulled her leg out from under Fang Jin’s bottom as if yanking out a radish.
But she used too much force and ended up tumbling head over heels twice on the carpet.
Jiang Man sat up, shaking her head dizzily, and looked at the two pups barking at each other. The ever-diplomatic Man immediately crawled over, petting one and soothing the other.
But Fang Jin was too caught up in her barking frenzy.
Fang Jin barked out accusations of Wen Qing’s various “misdeeds,” while Wen Qing simply played the victim, pitifully seeking Jiang Man’s “protection.”
Poor Jiang Man, who in her past life had believed that “knowledge changes destiny” and buried herself in studying, remained utterly clueless about matters of emotion and affection. She was completely led astray by the pretty-faced little sister.
Simple-minded Fang Jin couldn’t figure it out: she was clearly the one who was most wronged! So why was Manzai comforting that troublemaker Wen Qing instead of her!
Watching Wen Qing burrow into Manzai’s arms pretending to cry, the speechless Fang Jin crossed her arms and puffed up with anger.
It was just as well her vocabulary was limited otherwise, she might have grabbed the little emperor Manman’s hand and cried out, “A seductive consort leads the kingdom astray, Your Majesty!”
But Wen Qing wasn’t entirely wicked. Satisfied after being “comforted” by Jiang Man, she emerged from Manzai’s embrace and, while Jiang Man wasn’t looking, pulled a packet of small biscuits from her pocket and handed it to the fuming Fang Jin.
The greedy little golden-furred pup, upon seeing the delicious-smelling biscuits, immediately forgot all her grudges and grievances.
Happily accepting the biscuits, without needing Wen Qing to shoo her away, she clutched the treats and crawled over to a spot far from Jiang Man, sneakily savoring the delicious little biscuits all by herself!
When Jiang Man returned, the little golden-haired cub had already devoured the cookies like a whirlwind, even licking every last crumb off her lips.
Seeing Fang Jin suddenly in high spirits, Jiang Man tilted her head in confusion.
A cub’s mood was harder to predict than the weather, so Jiang Man didn’t dwell on it. She crawled toward Wen Qing with a toy she’d just dug out from the toy cabinet yesterday.
“Sis, play!” The domineering little Man stuffed what looked like a talking pen into Wen Qing’s hand, urging her to tap it on the baby picture book.
Just then, Li Chengxi came downstairs carrying the freshly awakened Mu Qian, and the first thing she saw was “Domineering Little Man and Her Pretty Little Sister.”
After gently placing Mu Qian next to Fang Jin, who had started amusing herself, Li Chengxi couldn’t help but remark to Liu Ying, who was handling affairs on the sofa, “Sister Liu Ying, since Man and Qing get along so well, why not arrange a childhood marriage for them?”
“No way!”
Before Liu Ying could even look up, Jiang Feng’s vehement objection came from behind: “Absolutely not!”
Seeing Jiang Feng’s resolute refusal, Li Chengxi grew curious. “Why not? Chairman Jiang, are you against AA relationships?”
“I never said that!” Jiang Feng quickly rejected the unintended accusation. “I’m an open-minded parent. As long as Man likes them, that’s her partner and her life.”
As she spoke, she glanced down at the beautiful cub on the carpet, who was pitifully drooping the corners of her eyes and seeking “help” from Man. Jiang Feng faintly detected a whiff of scheming charm.
Her body moved faster than her mind could process. By the time Jiang Feng regained her senses, she had already carried Man away from the little schemer.
“Mommy?” Jiang Man tilted her head, looking at her in confusion.
Jiang Feng coughed awkwardly, feigning composure. “Man can have a childhood marriage with anyone, but just not with this one from the Wen family!”
Her words left not only Li Chengxi puzzled but even the cub in her arms utterly bewildered.
While holding her daughter, Jiang Feng felt a tug on her pants. Looking down, she saw the beautiful cub using her pretty face and lovely eyes to gaze pitifully at Man in her arms.
If Jiang Man hadn’t known about Wen Yu’s disdain for Wen Qing, it might have been different. But now that she knew, her foolish mother was openly expressing dislike for Wen Qing in front of everyone!
The protective little Man glared fiercely at her foolish mother and babbled, demanding to be put down.
But Jiang Feng refused to comply!
Over the past few days, to reassure her wife, Jiang Feng had frequently visited the Wen family to inquire about Wen Yu’s condition. She had heard bits and pieces of information not meant for public knowledge.
Starting from Wen Yu and tracing back through the Wen family ancestors, they were all genuinely mentally unstable obsessive, stubborn, and incapable of letting go once they fixated on someone.
Even in death, they would bind that person to their side.
They were too insane, a lineage of madness passed down through generations.
Who knew, who could guarantee that Wen Qing, who now seemed sweet and adorable, wouldn’t inherit that same obsession?
