Reborn as a Scummy Alpha, I Became Every Heroine's Obsession - Chapter 31
For a moment, Feng Jiying’s mind completely froze. Then, she quickly snapped back to reality.
She covered her mouth with her hand. Her almond-shaped eyes widened slightly as she stared at Gu Qiqi in disbelief.
Gu Qiqi let out a confused laugh.
What was that expression? Did Feng Jiying think she had been bitten by a stray dog?
“It’s only ten thousand credits. Why are you so shocked? It’s not like I raised the price or anything,” Gu Qiqi said, genuinely puzzled.
Feng Jiying started frantically searching her memory for every rude word she had ever learned. But with her refined upbringing, she came up completely empty. There was nothing low enough to match what she wanted to say.
After holding it in for a long time, she finally burst out, “Don’t use that dirty mouth of yours, the one you’ve kissed others with, to kiss me. It’s disgusting.”
Gu Qiqi blinked.
What nonsense was Feng Jiying spouting? Was she really insulting her like this?
She had only ever kissed one person in her life—and that was Feng Jiying.
Stunned, Gu Qiqi reached out and placed the back of her hand against Feng Jiying’s forehead.
Was her brain overheated from the fever phase?
“I’ve kissed someone… with this mouth?” she muttered, confused.
Feng Jiying’s forehead felt normal. Gu Qiqi could only raise her finger and point at her own lips, completely speechless. She didn’t even know how to respond.
Feng Jiying quietly leaned away, sitting up straighter.
She gave a cold scoff, then turned her face toward the window.
“You’ve dirtied my mouth and still have the nerve to ask for money. Do you really think I’m that easy to fool?”
Gu Qiqi frowned. “Are all rich people in Central City this unreasonable? Can you at least speak clearly? What do you mean by ‘mouth that’s kissed someone’? Who exactly do you think I’ve kissed? Don’t you know the answer better than anyone?”
Feng Jiying let out another cold snort. Her lips curled slightly, and her tone was tight with anger.
“You don’t know who you’ve kissed?”
Gu Qiqi shot back, “Of course I know. Are you pretending not to know?”
Feng Jiying said coldly, “How would I know what you know?”
Gu Qiqi raised her voice, “How could you not know? You know better than anyone!”
She clearly remembered how clingy Feng Jiying had been during her sensitivity and heat period. She had wrapped herself around her, her lips pressed tightly to Gu Qiqi’s neck. The heat of her breath had nearly scorched her skin.
Gu Qiqi hadn’t dared to make a move, even though she had felt like she was turning into a disposable pawn.
She had worked hard to take care of this VIP and make her feel comfortable. But now that Feng Jiying had recovered, she was pretending none of it ever happened.
Pulling up her pants and forgetting everything, just like that.
Gu Qiqi gritted her teeth. “Can’t you be clear for once? Why do you always have to be so indirect?”
She grabbed Feng Jiying’s wrist. “Even if you want to back out of the deal, you still owe me ten thousand credits. Wherever there is oppression, there will be resistance. I’ve had enough these past few days.”
Feng Jiying pressed her tongue against her molars and narrowed her eyes.
“So you’re finally admitting it, huh? I know you never wanted to be in this forced match with me. Do you think I wanted it either? Have I been too kind to you? Is that why you think you can act so arrogant around me?”
“If you want to go back to your ex-girlfriend, then get out of the car.”
Gu Qiqi was stunned again.
What ex-girlfriend? What did this have to do with Wen Rui?
“Hey, could you just say what you mean? Talking like this gives me a headache,” she complained.
Feng Jiying felt utterly ridiculous.
She kept telling herself she didn’t care about Gu Qiqi, yet here she was, arguing over something this petty.
They were acting like two kindergarteners fighting over a crayon.
She grabbed Gu Qiqi’s chin, her sharp eyes filled with warning.
“I’ve said before, your personal life is none of my business. But I only have one rule. While we are in this forced compatibility phase, do not flirt around. Do not cause scandals. The Feng family is not to be taken lightly.”
Just as their argument reached its peak, Xiao Bai suddenly hit the brakes hard.
Caught off guard, Gu Qiqi stumbled forward and crashed right into Feng Jiying.
Their lips met again, and with the collision, their teeth bumped painfully.
The taste of blood spread in both of their mouths.
Feng Jiying let out a low, annoyed hum.
When Gu Qiqi fell on her, her body hit the car window, but surprisingly, it didn’t hurt. That was because Gu Qiqi had instinctively placed her hand behind her back to protect her from the impact.
That act of care only made Feng Jiying more frustrated.
Gu Qiqi spoke up, sounding completely serious.
“Even if it was an accident, that still counts. Twenty thousand credits. Transfer it to my terminal now. I’m not listening to any excuses.”
Before she could finish her sentence, Xiao Bai’s voice came from the front seat.
“President, someone’s blocking our way. It’s the Grand Elder. Should we stop and greet him?”
Just as Gu Qiqi looked up, Feng Jiying pressed her head down quickly, making her lie across her lap.
She covered Gu Qiqi’s head with her suit jacket, then slowly rolled the car window down just a bit.
From outside, only her calm and indifferent eyes were visible through the narrow opening.
As the two cars passed each other, the Grand Elder glanced into Feng Jiying’s car.
“This doesn’t seem like your usual route home, Jiying.”
Feng Jiying remained composed, her expression cool and steady.
“There was something that came up at the military academy. I had to stop by.”
The Grand Elder looked at her with a hint of suspicion, though he didn’t question her further.
“As an Omega, it’s dangerous to wander into areas full of Alphas without bodyguards. You need to be more careful. Don’t make this mistake again.”
“Yes,” Feng Jiying replied.
Gu Qiqi, still lying across Feng Jiying’s lap, blushed. Feng Jiying had pushed her down in such a hurry that her nose had ended up pressing somewhere very awkward.
Feng Jiying had noticed it too. As soon as the car window was rolled back up, her fingers trembled slightly.
The pheromone-suppressing patch on her neck was starting to heat up.
What confused her was that Gu Qiqi hadn’t released any pheromones. The car’s air circulation system was already on, which meant any scent would be filtered out quickly.
And yet, her heart still felt unsettled.
Xiao Bai pulled the car over to the side of the road.
Feng Jiying was feeling more irritable than ever.
She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, left over from earlier.
That old man probably noticed something.
“Get out,” she said.
Gu Qiqi blinked.
“What?”
“Get out of the car.”
“Wait, seriously? Why?” Gu Qiqi asked, confused. “What’s with the sudden mood swing?”
Feng Jiying’s breathing was uneven, and a faint red hue had spread around her eyes.
She glanced at Gu Qiqi again, her voice sharp and cold. The chill in her tone was like a wall going up all over again.
It felt like she had gone back to being the aloof, untouchable version of herself—the one Gu Qiqi had met when they first crossed paths.
“Get out. Go back on your own.”
Gu Qiqi’s lips twitched. Just a moment ago, everything had seemed fine. Now she was being kicked out?
Like she cared.
Muttering to herself, she opened the car door, got out, and slammed it shut behind her.
She watched the luxury car speed away and scoffed.
Feng Jiying’s house was in the suburbs.
Meanwhile, the 330 Military Academy was right in the center of the city. The distance between them was massive.
Was she seriously going to have to call a cab? That would cost a fortune. Just thinking about it made her feel the pain in her wallet.
Even so, she couldn’t figure out why Feng Jiying had suddenly turned cold again.
They had parted on good terms that morning.
Omegas really were impossible to read—like trying to understand the ocean by looking at a single drop.
As Gu Qiqi walked along the side of the road, her thoughts returned to the twisted expression on the principal’s face and the fear in Zhao Zhongtian’s eyes.
Her stomach turned again, a wave of nausea hitting her.
At this point, she had no choice but to start sorting out the plot of this ridiculous game system.
Since Zhao Zhongtian was clearly on the “rise from nothing and change fate” storyline, the first person he’d probably take down would be that disgusting principal.
Before Gu Qiqi could think further, a car horn suddenly sounded from behind her.
She sighed in irritation.
Who was so bored that they were driving slowly behind her and honking nonstop? She was walking on the sidewalk—who were they even honking at?
The car window rolled down, and Liu Huaiqing leaned her arm on the window frame, raising an eyebrow.
“Miss Gu, did someone kick you out?”
Gu Qiqi’s mouth twitched. Liu Huaiqing really wasn’t one to behave herself.
“So you’ve been following me this whole time?”
Liu Huaiqing didn’t confirm it, but she didn’t deny it either.
Gu Qiqi gave a dry laugh.
“I’ve been walking for ages, and you’ve just been slowly creeping behind me? You must be incredibly bored.”
Liu Huaiqing smiled slightly, as if admitting it without words.
“If I weren’t a little bored, how else would I get the chance to spend some time alone with you, Miss Gu? You could say persistence pays off. So, how about getting in the car and continuing that little deal we talked about?”
Gu Qiqi raised an eyebrow.
“Finally, something worth hearing.”
Without hesitation, she got into the passenger seat.
At that moment, Xiao Bai turned the car around and saw them from a distance.
She swallowed nervously.
“President… I think Miss Gu just got into Liu Huaiqing’s car. Should we follow them, or…?”
Even though the privacy divider was up and blocked sound, Xiao Bai could still sense the icy atmosphere behind her. The coldness was so strong, it felt like it was leaking through the barrier and wrapping around her.
The president was angry. And not just irritated—really, deeply angry.
Feng Jiying sat there, holding a document in her hand.
The first page was already crumpled from how tightly she was gripping it.
She let out a low, sharp breath.
She didn’t even know why she was so upset. But the feeling of frustration was overwhelming.
Seeing Gu Qiqi get into Liu Huaiqing’s car only made it worse.
The burning in her chest had nowhere to go, and she didn’t have a single logical reason to explain it.
Feng Jiying said in a cold voice, “No need. We’re going back to the office.”
Xiao Bai glanced at the time on her terminal, surprised.
“President? It’s already pretty late. Are we really going back to work now? It’s around dinner time, and you just finished your heat phase. I think it might be better to get some rest.”
Cold air instantly filled the car. Xiao Bai shivered, unable to stop herself.
It was clear now—President Feng really did care about Miss Gu.
All Miss Gu did was get into Liu Huaiqing’s car, and the president was already this jealous?
What if, someday, Miss Gu ended up in a forced compatibility period with another Omega…
Xiao Bai didn’t dare finish that thought.
Feng Jiying spoke calmly, but her voice was sharp and firm.
“Go to the office. I’ll finish the rest of the government paperwork. No one is allowed to interfere with my work.”
Xiao Bai responded cautiously, trying not to step on any landmines.
“But President, you already brought all the documents with you before we left. And you just finished going through them, didn’t you?”
Feng Jiying gripped the file in her hand. Her gaze darkened.
“I’m going to apply to the Federal Government to end the forced compatibility period with Gu Qiqi ahead of schedule.”
Xiao Bai nearly gasped.
What a jealous thing to say.
