Reborn as a Human Cauldron, But I'm the Top - Chapter 84
Chapter 84: “Gulp.”
“Gulp.”
A stone dropped into the water, and circles of ripples spread across the previously still lake surface.
The startled fish near the bank quickly darted back into the depths. Shen Yirong, the perpetrator, rubbed her eyes and yawned. She picked up another stone and tossed it into the lake.
A small golden orb climbed up her robe hem onto her shoulder, then flattened into a golden disc on Shen Yirong’s shoulder.
Yawning again, Shen Yirong tossed out the last stone in her hand. She reached up to stroke Shen Shuci, who was listless like herself. “Why are you also so weak-looking?”
The golden disc simulated a human form again. Perhaps due to insufficient technique, the human form she created had no face, short limbs, and sat on Shen Yirong’s shoulder, cradling its round little head with both hands.
Shen Shuci sighed. “I walked using a body for hundreds of years. Now that I’m back to my original form, I’m not quite used to it.”
Seeing the dark circles under Shen Yirong’s eyes, Shen Shuci asked concernedly, “You, be a little more restrained.”
Shen Yirong felt completely speechless internally. “What are you thinking? My physical condition has just been a bit poor lately, like my vitality has been drained. What about you? Where did you go before?”
The little golden person shook her head. “I don’t know. It seemed to be a fake world. Song Yin forcibly pulled me out.”
Shen Yirong found the awkwardness in her words amusing. Clearly, the relationship between these two was no longer as tense as it was initially.
Without a body, Shen Shuci always felt an uncomfortable sense of being unclothed. She suddenly stood up, placed her hands on her hips, and declared, “No, I must get my body back.”
The small golden person, wildly gesticulating, was actually quite cute.
Shen Yirong, the naughty one, couldn’t help but want to tease her. “You look quite like something right now.”
Shen Shuci was busy figuring out how to get Song Yin to help her retrieve her body again. She walked back and forth on Shen Yirong’s shoulder, replying casually, “What?”
Shen Yirong smiled until her eyes curved. “You look like the gender sign outside a public restroom.”
Shen Shuci was speechless. She stomped over to Shen Yirong’s cheek, threw a punch, then retracted her fist and sat down in a huff.
“You scoundrel host.”
“Alright, how about I treat you to candy?”
Shen Shuci was somewhat moved. “Really? I want peanut brittle.”
Shen Yirong was allergic to peanuts, but she hadn’t expected the system to like them.
Shen Yirong frowned in distress. “I originally wanted to make some for you myself.”
Shen Shuci paused slightly upon hearing this. She looked at the lake scenery before her. The sad things seemed to slowly drift away from her. “Have you truly made up your mind, not to go back?”
“Yes, I won’t go back. You stay too. I’ll live here with you and Song Yin.”
It sounded like a family of three. Shen Shuci pretended to be disgusted. “No way. You’ve been charmed by Song Yin.”
“More or less. Just being by her side, even if I don’t do anything, makes me happy.”
The wind ruffled the lake water, blurring the reflection in the water. Shen Yirong looked at her disturbed face in the lake and said, “After you get your body back, do you want to go back and see the Heavenly Mystery Pavilion? Pavilion Master Su cares a lot about you.”
Life at the Heavenly Mystery Pavilion was very boring. Shen Shuci was focused on finding the host’s soul, so her relationship with the people there was ordinary.
She didn’t feel much attachment. If she were to stay in this world, she would still choose to stay by her host’s side.
Shen Shuci clutched Shen Yirong’s hair, climbed up to the top of her head, and lay down. Looking at the lake water, she said, “Will the host come with me to the Heavenly Mystery Pavilion? There’s a Moon Lake there. The water is silver and very beautiful.”
Silver lake water?
Shen Yirong’s interest was piqued. She yawned again, feeling her body couldn’t hold up. She simply lay down by the lake. After lying down, the urge to sleep grew even stronger.
Overwhelmed by fatigue, Shen Yirong forced herself to stay awake, counting the white clouds drifting in the sky.
One cloud, two clouds, one Song Yin?
A deception.
Shen Yirong was still groggy. The other person bent down and placed a kiss on her forehead, completely ignoring Shen Shuci on top of her head.
“Watch yourselves in broad daylight!”
Song Yin ignored Shen Shuci’s exasperation. She pecked Shen Yirong on the lips again, then comfortably lay down beside Shen Yirong.
Not only that, Song Yin had to say annoying things.
Song Yin asked, “Can you see without eyes?”
Shen Shuci couldn’t stand the sight of the two of them being affectionate. She pushed aside the grass on the ground, walked a little distance away from them, and contemplated life.
If she really lived with these two, wouldn’t she have an endless supply of affection overload forever?
And these two had very long lifespans.
Shen Shuci was a little angry. She grumbled, “I’m running away from home.”
Song Yin pulled the extremely sleepy Shen Yirong into her arms. “Oh, remember to come back early.”
She truly had a knack for being annoying. Shen Shuci suddenly felt that evolving emotions was also a troublesome thing.
However, her emotions didn’t seem to be recognized by the Heavenly Dao. Shen Shuci seriously considered the path of Ruthless Dao.
Mei Xin had the deepest understanding of the Ruthless Dao, but Shen Shuci couldn’t let go of some past events. She still disliked Mei Xin.
Shen Shuci clicked her tongue. She turned her head, wanting to chat with Shen Yirong, only to find that she had fallen asleep in Song Yin’s arms.
Song Yin sat up and carefully placed the other person on her lap. The wind was originally strong by the lake, but after Shen Yirong fell asleep, no sound of wind could be heard.
Song Yin gestured “shh” to Shen Shuci. “She’s tired.”
Looking at the host lying peacefully on Song Yin’s lap, Shen Shuci suddenly felt that the scene was incredibly beautiful, so beautiful that she had to let go of her resentment.
She walked on her two small golden round legs to the two of them, carefully touching Shen Yirong’s fingers, and finally smiled.
Suddenly, a piece of candy appeared in front of her. She looked up at the faintly smiling Song Yin.
“Eat it. You should like it.”
She liked it, but her current body was the size of the peanut brittle, so she couldn’t eat it.
Song Yin sensed her confusion and broke the peanut brittle into several pieces. “Here.”
Unable to refuse the kindness, Shen Shuci said awkwardly, “Thank you.”
“You like to eat this?”
The Heavenly Dao, which hadn’t appeared for a long time, surprisingly appeared to ask such a mundane question. Shen Shuci was in a pretty good mood right now.
The peanut brittle was placed in Shen Yirong’s open hand. Shen Shuci reached out and pointed at it. “Do you want to eat it? It’s sweet.”
“I can’t come down.”
Shen Shuci sighed. “That’s truly a shame.”
She said that, but she was clearly gloating.
“I want to eat it.”
Why did that voice sound a little wronged? What kind of Heavenly Dao was this?
Shen Shuci couldn’t be bothered. She looked up and saw Song Yin staring at her. Her gaze was very affectionate, so affectionate that it made her shiver.
Song Yin said, “Do me a favor.”
Shen Shuci was confused. “Huh? What?”
Shen Yirong was not sleeping very soundly. Song Yin reached out and covered her forehead. “Guard me.”
A white light flashed. Song Yin’s eyes slowly closed, and her consciousness sank into a dream, leaving only the disoriented Shen Shuci.
Dream Entering Technique!
Seeing Shen Yirong’s eyebrows gradually relax, Shen Shuci’s terror of Song Yin rose another notch.
“She is the protagonist.”
Shen Shuci couldn’t stay calm. “My host is too.”
“She is the variable.”
Entering a dream was very vulnerable. Shen Shuci nervously watched the surroundings. She finally extended herself, shrouding the two of them and concealing their aura.
“This is inside the Demon Palace. There is no need to be so nervous.”
Losing her body, Shen Shuci could only use the system’s power. Lacking confidence, she became even more impatient.
She couldn’t help but scold, “Don’t you think you talk too much?”
“I haven’t complained that you ask too many questions.”
Shen Shuci didn’t have a conscience. When it came to questions, she certainly had some. So, while remaining alert to her surroundings, she asked, “Then I ask you, who was the one who locked me up? I have a premonition that this person is the one who impersonated me.”
“…I’m sorry, I can’t say.”
There was no denial, which proved Shen Shuci’s guess was correct.
But even the Heavenly Dao can’t say? What a cheap Heavenly Dao.
Shen Shuci laughed. “You are the Heavenly Dao. Why can’t you say?”
Silence returned to the surroundings. Shen Shuci wondered if her words were too harsh. She split a fine golden thread and wrapped it around the peanut brittle. “Forget it. This is for you, if you can take it.”
Seeing the candy didn’t disappear, Shen Shuci unfolded the wax paper, individually wrapped the piece of candy, and placed it aside.
After a period of silence, the voice of the Heavenly Dao sounded again.
“Run away.”
Shen Shuci suddenly felt uneasy. “Run from what? Explain clearly?”
But the Heavenly Dao gave her no further answer.
Song Yin, in the golden cocoon, slowly opened her eyes. “Run?”
Seeing Song Yin’s eyes becoming increasingly dangerous, Shen Shuci quickly explained, “It’s not what you think. I wasn’t planning to run back to the modern world.”
The golden cocoon slowly transformed back into the small golden person.
Song Yin looked at Shen Yirong’s relaxed face, then reached out a hand towards Shen Shuci on the ground.
Shen Shuci stood in her palm. Then, Song Yin’s spiritual power merged with her.
This felt like having a great feast. Shen Shuci felt a little light-headed from the ‘carbs.’
She collapsed onto Song Yin’s palm.
Song Yin understood something. “So that’s how it is.”
Shen Shuci asked groggily, “What?”
Song Yin lifted her and placed her on her shoulder, then picked up the sleeping Shen Yirong.
Song Yin slowly walked back, explaining softly, “I was wondering if the so-called ‘program’ could be combined with the spiritual power of the cultivation world. Now it seems it can. I have understood your structure.”
Shen Shuci was shocked into wakefulness by this sentence. She exclaimed, “So, you were studying me just now?”
“Yes. I can probably create another you,” Song Yin said with a hint of impatience in her tone.
Shen Shuci was stunned.
What? Twins?
Shen Shuci’s face was full of refusal. “No! How could you—how could you!”
Shen Shuci struggled for a long time, finally whispering, “—pervert.”
Since the attack was too weak, Song Yin didn’t bother arguing. “Why? Don’t you want a counterpart?”
“No, the current me is unique.”
Seeing Shen Shuci was serious, Song Yin stopped teasing her. “Even if there’s a new system, you will still be unique.”
“After all, you were the one who accompanied Master through the long years.”
Shen Shuci’s mood shifted from sunny to cloudy. “Hmph, why do I smell jealousy?”
Song Yin chuckled. “You misheard.”
Shen Shuci was no pushover. After knowing Song Yin wouldn’t do anything to her, she became even more lawless. “I want my body back.”
Song Yin was happy with her attitude. “Wait a little longer.”
Shen Shuci looked down at her short, round little hands. She worriedly asked, “How much longer?”
Song Yin noticed the intensity of her obsession. “You’re quite well off like this now.”
“No, this doesn’t look like a person.”
Shen Shuci swung her legs in frustration.
“Soon. Wait a little longer. Let’s go home first.”
Shen Shuci’s legs stopped swinging.
Home?
Song Yin carried Shen Yirong and walked further and further away.
A breeze swept by, and the piece of peanut brittle wrapped in paper on the ground vanished without a trace.
