Quick Transmigration: The Yandere CEO is Both Pampering and Seductive - Chapter 3
Being close, Song Chubai could even feel the warm breath that Lu Chenhan was exhaling onto his face.
He froze for a moment.
What was this strange tingling sensation that seemed to rapidly spread from his tailbone throughout his entire body?
He fell into a momentary trance.
It was precisely this momentary trance that, in Lu Chenhan’s eyes, looked entirely like an expression of infatuation with him.
The corners of Lu Chenhan’s lips curled upward as he murmured, “Now I believe nine parts out of ten what you said.”
If he were not truly enamored with him, how else could he wear such an obsessed expression?
As for stealing company information, perhaps it really was a misunderstanding.
After all, up until now, Song Chubai had not succeeded in stealing anything, had he?
Lu Chenhan’s eyes flickered slightly as he sat up straight and picked up the newspaper again, flipping through its pages.
By the time Song Chubai came back to his senses, Lu Chenhan had already turned two pages of the newspaper.
Song Chubai cast a quick glance at Lu Chenhan and let out a light breath.
He turned his head to look out the car window.
The scenery by the roadside flashed past quickly, transforming in the blink of an eye from one view into another.
And the person accompanying him to look at the scenery was Lu Chenhan, sitting right beside him.
Time flew by, and they soon arrived at the Lu family residence.
Lu Chenhan had moved out of the old family estate ever since he took over the Lu Group. Now, he solely owned an entire villa, living a life of utter freedom and ease.
There was no one else inside the villa; it was empty and inexplicably carried a hint of desolation.
Song Chubai followed behind Lu Chenhan, still failing to understand why the man had brought him back home.
While he was deep in thought, Lu Chenhan spoke up.
“Can you cook?”
Song Chubai hesitated for a brief second and tentatively replied, “I can make cat food.”
His pet cat adored the food he made.
Lu Chenhan furrowed his brows, pondered for a second, and suddenly burst into laughter.
“In your heart, am I a cat?”
His voice was rarely tinged with a hint of curiosity. “Then tell me, what kind of cat am I?”
This was the first time anyone had ever used a cat to describe him.
Song Chubai knew that Lu Chenhan had misunderstood, but explaining it now seemed a bit too late.
After pondering for two seconds, he spoke up: “A Maine Coon?”
Majestic in appearance and awe-inspiring, yet with a personality that did not match that imposing look at all.
Lu Chenhan did not know much about cats, but the name “Maine Coon” sounded very expensive.
He nodded with satisfaction, the corners of his mouth curving upward. “It seems you really do like me.”
Song Chubai thought to himself.
“Mhm. Mhm,” he vaguely acknowledged.
“Go make dinner,” Lu Chenhan commanded with a trace of authority.
One had to bow one’s head under the low eaves, so Song Chubai gave an acknowledgment and obediently went to the kitchen to cook.
There were plenty of ingredients in the refrigerator, and at a glance, they looked as though they had just been placed there today, extremely fresh.
He picked two tomatoes and two eggs, intending to cook a tomato and egg noodle soup, since Lu Chenhan hadn’t specified that he wanted a grand feast anyway.
Soon, a steaming bowl of tomato and egg noodles was served in front of Lu Chenhan.
It was garnished with a scattering of chopped green onions, matching the red and yellow colors harmoniously.
Lu Chenhan’s eyes flickered slightly, and the aroma lingering around his nose tempted him with a rare sense of appetite.
He gave Song Chubai a meaningful look, picked up his chopsticks, and began to eat.
Song Chubai sat across from him, watching him finish the noodles like that, even drinking the soup completely clean.
“Not bad,” Lu Chenhan praised. “You even knew that I don’t eat cilantro. It seems you understand me very well.”
Song Chubai lowered his head in silence, not having the heart to admit that it was actually because he himself didn’t eat cilantro, which was why he forgot to put it in.
Seeing him stay silent, Lu Chenhan simply took it as tacit agreement.
“Seeing that you like me this much, I can give you a chance.”
Song Chubai abruptly raised his head, looking at him with an expectant gaze.
A chance? What kind of chance? Was he giving him a chance to treat his illness?
Song Chubai looked at Lu Chenhan with full anticipation.
Noticing his expectant look, the corners of Lu Chenhan’s lips curved into a slightly teasing smile.
“If you can make my heart soften toward you within a month, I will be with you.”
Song Chubai was utterly confused.
No, he did not want to be with him.
However, his answer clearly did not matter.
Lu Chenhan made the executive decision all by himself.
He stood up, looked down at Song Chubai from a towering height, and let out a cold laugh, his brows and eyes carrying a hint of chilliness.
After that, he just turned around and went upstairs.
Song Chubai was speechless.
Sure enough, animals were much easier to understand; human beings were simply too difficult to figure out.
Especially the mission target, who was moody and completely unpredictable regarding what was going on inside his head.
Resigned to his fate, Song Chubai stood up, simply tidied up the bowls and chopsticks, and sat down on the living room sofa to zone out.
The door had been locked by Lu Chenhan, meaning he couldn’t get out at all and could only stay here temporarily.
Fortunately, he still had his phone to play with. He browsed the news of this world to get a general understanding of it.
Generally speaking, this world was not much different from the world he used to live in. Perhaps it was because this was his first time doing a mission that they simply gave him a world background similar to his own?
While making guesses, Song Chubai looked up information regarding manic-depression.
Bipolar disorder, commonly referred to as manic-depression, usually manifests as alternating episodes of mania and depression when the illness flares up. Simply put, it means one moment the person is excessively excited, and the next moment they are extremely low, acting as if the entire world had abandoned them.
It was quite difficult to wait upon.
After finishing the relevant materials, this was the only thought in Song Chubai’s mind.
The sky darkened at some point, and a strange noise suddenly came from upstairs.
Song Chubai immediately stood up and looked upward.
Lu Chenhan’s figure appeared at the top of the stairs. “Come up.”
His tone carried obvious agitation.
Song Chubai was momentarily stunned. Was this an episode?
He tentatively walked toward the stairs. Just as he stepped onto the first step, he heard Lu Chenhan command with a hint of sternness, “Stop right there!”
Song Chubai paused in his tracks and tentatively asked, “President Lu?”
“It seems you are very obedient,” Lu Chenhan’s lips curled up. “Since you are so obedient, come on up.”
Song Chubai’s mouth twitched. He felt that Lu Chenhan didn’t have bipolar disorder; he was just a fool.
Despite all the inner complaints, he still lifted his foot and walked upstairs.
When he reached the top of the stairs and stood still, Lu Chenhan suddenly grabbed his arm, leaned forward, and pinned him against the wall.
Song Chubai’s long eyelashes fluttered lightly, his pitch-black pupils reflecting the man’s figure.
Under the dim lighting, the light and shadow projected into his eyes seemed to be dyed with an ambiguous ambiance.
Lu Chenhan stared straight at him, his chest rising and falling irregularly.
Up close, he realized that this young man who cooked such delicious noodles and harbored such a deep obsession with him actually had such a pair of gorgeous eyes.
The inner mania gradually dissipated under that pair of eyes, leaving only a faint sense of relaxation as if he had been smoothed out.
He narrowed his eyes, his throat bobbing, and his fingertips gently brushed against Song Chubai’s earlobe.
The soft, slightly cool earlobe trembled slightly. In a flash, it blushed with a rouge-like red.
