- Chapter 6 - The "Green Tea" Sidekick to the Big Boss (6)
“Big Brother, please be calm! I have not bathed in a month!”
Shi Lan pinched the soft flesh at the back of Miao Yang’s neck until it turned red. “You have not bathed? Those who lie to me never end well, baby.”
Miao Yang’s shirt was loose, and the top two buttons were undone, causing the neckline to slide back significantly. Miao Yang shivered. “I mean, even if I do not like to bathe, I am still clean, heh heh.”
He was covered in goosebumps. Ugh! Dammit! He tried to pry the arm barring his waist away with all his might.
Shi Lan leaned in close. “Did Young Master Shen send you here to seduce the boss?”
His heavy, alcohol-laden breath brushed against Miao Yang’s ear, making the fine hairs there stand on end. Miao Yang’s voice trembled with fear. “Yes, yes.” He sounded pathetic enough.
Shi Lan certainly liked men, so he did not mind playing around. He drawled, “So, Young Master Shen sent you to seduce his own fiancé? Ha, kid, should I believe you, or should I believe that Young Master Shen has lost his mind?”
Miao Yang’s eyes darted around. “Brother Lan, actually, the Young Master meant for me to test the waters first to see if the boss is a man of integrity.”
That was the downside of lying so much that he could not even remember his own story. His words were full of holes, but Miao Yang was foolish enough to believe he had actually gotten away with it.
Shi Lan’s hand was large, with long, bony, and handsome fingers, though his palms and fingertips were covered in thick, rough callouses. When that hand gripped Miao Yang’s arm, the combination of the fine touch and the searing heat made his scalp tingle. His limbs were going numb from staying in one position for too long under such intense pressure.
Miao Yang tried to push himself up to get into a more comfortable position, but his unintentional movement infuriated the temperamental and irritable Shi Lan. Shi Lan’s eyes darkened; he loosened his arm slightly, letting the boy lift himself up, but the moment Miao Yang tried to stretch his legs out, Shi Lan tightened his grip and threw him down onto the sofa.
Miao Yang writhed on the cushions, feeling his legs go numb. Ouch, they are broken! They are going to snap! He could not save himself at all. System 168, come out and save me!
System 168, stuck in its “black room,” was helpless. Miao Yang’s legs shook with genuine terror; he was afraid this man would fold him up like a ball.
Shi Lan clicked his tongue. He grabbed the boy with one hand, tucking him securely under his arm, and strode toward the bed.
“Ah, Big Brother, my head hurts, ouch, ouch!”
Shi Lan tossed him onto the large bed and loosened his belt. “I will treat you myself.”
Miao Yang scrambled to the other side of the bed. “No, no! My head hurts, not my butt! Help! Somebody, Big Brother is drunk!”
Miao Yang’s voice suddenly cut off as he felt something slice through the air directly toward him. Snap! A violent sound exploded right beside his ear. The object whipped past Miao Yang’s face and struck the mattress nearby, shredding the silk quilt instantly.
Miao Yang turned in terror, staring at the tall, towering man standing by the bed like a ghost. He gripped the quilt with trembling hands and sniffled. His tears fell, and his doe-like eyes proved immensely effective. “Brother, I am afraid.” Even his act of acting spoiled did not feel out of place.
Shi Lan laughed, sat on the edge of the bed, and curled his finger. “Come here.”
Miao Yang lowered his eyes and moved carefully toward him. “You are not allowed to hit me, okay? I am scared.”
Shi Lan said softly, “Of course.”
Once Miao Yang moved closer, Shi Lan grabbed him by the back of the neck and yanked him forward. “Why? Are you pushing me away because you still want to seduce the boss?”
Miao Yang gripped the man’s clothes. “Of course not! I am your subordinate, Brother Lan. Besides, I have self-awareness; someone like the boss is out of my league.”
Shi Lan sneered, touching his face. “And me? Am I out of your league too?”
Miao Yang giggled. “Naturally, you are also out of my league. I only want to stay by your side, serve you, and be your loyal underling. I dare not dream of anything else.”
Shi Lan’s gaze remained flat. He suddenly dragged the boy right in front of him. “You are not out of my league.”
He pinched Miao Yang’s cheek, his eyes tracing the boy’s brows, nose, and lips. As they leaned in, their breathing mingled. They are too close, brother. Miao Yang felt like he was going to vomit. I am a man! Every time he turned his head, Shi Lan pinched it back.
Shi Lan was solid, heavy, and mountain-like. Most importantly, he was huge, rock-hard, and burning up. Miao Yang felt like he was suffocating. He desperately wanted to say, Aren’t you drunk? If you are drunk, go to sleep! Why are you so energetic? Why are you not out running a marathon?
Miao Yang sensed danger and hesitated between saving his life and holding onto his dignity. “Big Brother, actually, Young Master Shen asked me to give you a message.”
As Shi Lan’s fingers hooked into the hem of his shirt, Miao Yang blurted it out.
“Oh?” Shi Lan stopped.
Miao Yang gulped and nodded repeatedly. Shi Lan’s gaze was deep. The boy’s head had been shaved into a lopsided, patchy crew cut that looked ridiculous. Shi Lan let go of him, propped himself up, and patted Miao Yang’s back. Though he thought he was being gentle, his hand was so large and heavy that it made a loud slapping sound.
Miao Yang lunged forward, wanting to dodge, but upon meeting Shi Lan’s sinister gaze, he forced himself to endure it. His face flushed a pathetic shade of red, his eyes welled up with tears, and he hunched his shoulders in a futile attempt to block the man.
Shi Lan smiled at the person trying to hide. “What message?” He used his thumb to pinch Miao Yang’s soft earlobe.
He is so annoying, Miao Yang thought, his inner self collapsing while his expression remained perfect.
“Uh, the Young Master said he misses you a little. It has been a long time; he wonders how you have been.”
I am sorry, Young Master Shen. In order to save my own neck, I have to sacrifice you.
Shi Lan was still drunk, his face slightly flushed. As they wrestled, his clothes came undone, revealing a bronzed, muscular chest. To be honest, it was sexy. Unfortunately, Miao Yang did not feel jealous; he only felt that this “dog” was sexually harassing him.
Shi Lan looked at the innocent-looking Miao Yang and smiled. “Oh? How does he miss me?”
A muscular arm pressed down on Miao Yang’s torn shirt. The bronzed skin and hidden veins were visible. Shi Lan’s fingertips tapped against Miao Yang’s chest as he asked, acting like a blade poised to pierce the boy’s heart if the answer did not satisfy him.
Miao Yang’s face drained of color, then flushed red. He could not help but press down on the man’s hand. “He… he was thinking about you with his eyes wide open. He probably misses you quite a bit.”
“Hahaha!” Shi Lan burst into genuine, amused laughter.
Several subordinates passing by the courtyard heard the laughter and exchanged glances. “Oh my, Brother Lan is having such a good time.”
“Must be doing ‘that’ thing. He sounds happy!”
Shi Lan stopped laughing and placed Miao Yang’s hand on his own waist. “Fine, I get it. Let’s get down to business.”
Miao Yang panicked and pulled his hand back. “B-Big Brother, I, I am not ready.” His eyes filled with red. “I am still an innocent man, Brother Lan. Sob, I am scared.”
He did not know if he had been an actor in his past life, but his tears flowed on command. Even if it was not particularly beautiful, it had a certain charm. It looked pathetic yet cunning.
Since the act was not overly annoying, Shi Lan did not get angry. Instead, he released Miao Yang’s hand and asked with surprising patience, “Fine. Tell me, when will you be ready?”
Miao Yang hung his head, his long lashes wet with tears. “Soon, I hope.”
Shi Lan chuckled. “Good. I will wait for you to be ready. But do not make me wait too long, or I will throw you to the fish.”
Miao Yang knew the fish were actual giant crocodiles. He nodded immediately, curled his eyes, and hugged Shi Lan’s arm. “Brother Lan, you are so kind. It is an honor to be your subordinate.”
Shi Lan rubbed his thumb against the boy’s cheek without a word. When Miao Yang got up to go to the bathroom, Shi Lan’s face turned cold, his gaze fixed blankly on the youth’s retreating back. He sat up on the edge of the bed with a gloomy expression, the drunkenness having completely vanished.
