- Chapter 2 - Yandere No. 1
When Fang Yu opened her eyes, she found herself in a pink-hued bedroom. The air was thick with a heavy, floral fragrance that carried an unmistakable hint of sensuality.
While she was still lost in a daze, a pair of hands slid up her back. “Why did you stop?” a voice whispered.
Fang Yu lowered her head, not daring to move a muscle.
What on earth was she looking at?
Long, bare legs and a curvaceous figure were tangled up with her in a compromising position. In her twenty-three years of life, Fang Yu had never witnessed a scene this explosive—let alone been the lead actress in one.
[Target for reform will arrive on-site in ten seconds.]
The System’s voice chimed in encouragingly, though it carried a distinct tone of someone enjoying a show. If the System had a human form, it would likely be sitting back with a cola in one hand and popcorn in the other, legs crossed, deciding whether to whistle at Fang Yu’s performance.
The unidentified girl beneath her puckered her lips, leaning in for a kiss just as the bedroom door handle began to turn.
Fang Yu’s blood felt like it was reaching a boiling point.
Mwah!
The girl’s red lips successfully pressed against hers with a loud, wet sound. Simultaneously, the door swung open with a heavy thud.
The die was cast.
This is insane! This is totally insane!
“Yu-yu, I brought you a birthday cake.” Li Ruoruo stood there, looking utterly soul-crushed. The cake in her hands slipped, hitting the floor with a dull splat.
Fang Yu instinctively reached out to push the girl off her, but her hands met smooth, soft skin. Seeing this, Li Ruoruo’s expression darkened even further.
Fang Yu suddenly felt that no matter what she did now, it would be wrong.
[Character Profile: An uneducated, club-hopping ‘Big Sister’ type!]
Is this the original owner’s personality? Fang Yu realized. So, I have to keep playing this part without slipping up?
“018, give me some context here!” Fang Yu thought, realizing for the second time that her System was a bit unreliable.
[Backstory:] The original owner of this body is a high school student. During a night out at a club, she rescued a fellow student, Li Ruoruo, from some harassing thugs. Li Ruoruo fell in love at first sight and pursued her relentlessly—bringing umbrellas in the rain, medicine when she was sick, and even “gifting” herself on Valentine’s Day. The original owner didn’t dislike her and eventually slept with her on Valentine’s Day, starting a relationship. However, the original owner refused to be tied down; while dating Li Ruoruo, she continued to fool around with others.
“So, I’m currently being caught in bed?”
[Exactly, dear.]
Tears welled up in Li Ruoruo’s beautiful eyes, and her shoulders began to tremble. Why? Why was she so good to Yu-yu, yet Yu-yu still abandoned her for others?
She wanted to be with Fang Yu so, so badly. If we die, we won’t have to be apart anymore, right?
Li Ruoruo slumped to the floor and pulled a craft knife from her coat. With a haunting, twisted smile, she drew a sharp blade across her wrist.
Fang Yu watched, stunned. How could such an exquisite, delicate girl turn so terrifying in an instant?
Blood pooled and began to drip steadily onto the floor as Li Ruoruo stood back up. She started walking toward her, step by step.
“System, save me!! What other skills do you have? I didn’t cross over just to experience another early death!”
She wondered briefly: which was more painless? Being stabbed to death or drowning in the sea?
[Do not worry, Host. We have a powerful engine function that can rapidly heal various wounds and negate pain. Your life is absolutely guaranteed!]
With that reassurance, Fang Yu’s fear vanished. She grabbed a clean towel from the bedside to wrap herself, stepped off the bed, and walked straight toward Li Ruoruo.
Surprisingly, Li Ruoruo took a few steps back. A flicker of clarity returned to her eyes as she stared fixedly at Fang Yu’s feet. “Walking barefoot on the floor you’ll catch a cold.”
There’s hope!
Ignoring the half-exposed blade in Li Ruoruo’s hand, Fang Yu rushed forward and threw her arms around the girl’s neck.
Panicked, Li Ruoruo frantically hid the knife behind her back. The resolve she had just moments ago—to “die together and never part”—shattered instantly.
“You still care about me. You still love me, don’t you?”
“It’s not like that.” Li Ruoruo tried to speak, but the dizziness from blood loss made it impossible to finish her sentence.
“We’re going to the hospital!” Fang Yu held Li Ruoruo close. She quickly threw on some clothes and told the girl on the bed that they were over.
The other girl took her time buttoning her shirt, smiling with a sultry air. “Oh? So, the ‘official’ wife has arrived?”
In truth, she had simply met Fang Yu at a bar and shared a night of passion. She didn’t actually care.
“Good thing you brought her in time. Any later and her life would have been in danger. Such a young girl, what could be so bad that she’d do this to herself?”
The doctor, an older man with reading glasses and a booming voice, likely assumed Fang Yu was Li Ruoruo’s older sister. He had little patience for young people who threw their lives away, usually blaming the family for such incidents.
“My sister just wanted to see if her new craft knife was sharp enough,” Fang Yu improvised.
“I think your sister needs a CT scan of her brain,” the old doctor retorted bluntly.
After paying the surgical fees, Fang Yu followed the nurses as they wheeled Li Ruoruo into the operating room. She booked a VIP private room for a week-long stay.
Fortunately, in this world, she was still the daughter of a wealthy family with a massive allowance. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to maintain this “Big Sister” persona for long.
Once the surgery was over, the doctor informed her that there were no major issues. Li Ruoruo was simply under anesthesia and would wake up soon.
Taking the opportunity, Fang Yu went to a popular nearby restaurant and bought a bowl of pork and preserved egg congee along with two side dishes of greens.
When she returned to the ward, Li Ruoruo was already awake, staring blankly at her surroundings.
Fang Yu quickly set the bags down and adjusted the bed, tilting it to a 140-degree angle. She pulled up a chair, opened the container, and blew on the hot congee to cool it.
“I didn’t add sugar. Eat up.”
Li Ruoruo looked at the spoonful of porridge held to her lips with a complicated expression. I was supposed to break up with this woman! How can I just accept her feeding me like this?
She turned her head away and used all her strength to swat the spoon away. The movement jerked the wound on her wrist, causing her to grimace in pain.
Fang Yu put the bowl down, took Li Ruoruo’s hand, and tucked it back under the covers. “The doctor stitched you up. You’re fine.”
“In the future don’t make me worry like that,” Fang Yu added, leaning in closer until her chin rested on Li Ruoruo’s head, her voice muffled and low.
Li Ruoruo wasn’t listening to her sweet talk. She ripped the IV needle from the back of her hand and lunged forward, shoving Fang Yu aside as she scrambled to get out of bed.
“Li Ruoruo!”
Fang Yu clutched her sore chest and let out a sharp roar. The sound froze Li Ruoruo, who was currently struggling on the floor to get back up.
“You stay right there! Your wound hasn’t even healed, who gave you permission to run?”
For a moment, Li Ruoruo felt as if she were seeing the person she first met at the bar—the one who had descended like a deity to save her from those thugs. Back then, Fang Yu had used that same casual, commanding tone to suppress the bullies.
018, how’s my ‘Big Sister’ acting? Fang Yu asked inwardly, feeling a bit smug now that Li Ruoruo had stopped moving.
[Host is the most excellent!] the System replied, playing along.
“Now, get back in bed and eat all the porridge and greens. If I see even a bite left over, I’ll kiss you once for every mouthful you miss.”
Hearing this, Li Ruoruo looked terrified. She was currently very resistant to Fang Yu’s physical intimacy. She scrambled back onto the bed in three quick steps, lay down obediently, and began gulping down the porridge until the bowl was licked clean.
Fang Yu called the nurse to reinsert the IV. Not wanting to face Fang Yu, Li Ruoruo let the nurse finish her work and then pulled the covers over her head to sleep.
